한부모가정여부가 아동의 자기보호와 미디어노출을 통해 학교적응에 미치는 영향 (The effects of single-parent households on children's school adjustment -Mediation of children's self-care and media exposure-)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 한부모가정여부가 아동의 자기보호와 미디어 노출을 통해 학교적응에 영향을 미치는지를 분석하고 자기보호와 미디어노출의 이중매개효과를 검증하는 것이다. 이를 위해 한국청소년정책연구원의 한국아동 청소년패널조사데이터의 초4학년패널 4차년도 자료를 활용하였으며 이에 따라 총 1,916명의 아동 자료를 분석에 포함하였다. 주요한 통계방법으로는 인과관계 검증을 위해 구조방정식모형 분석과 다중매개모형 특정간접효과(specific indirect effect)를 확인하기 위해 팬텀모형(phantom model)에 의한 Bootstrapping 방법을 적용하였다. 분석 결과, 한부모가정여부는 아동의 학교적응에 직접적인 영향력을 미칠 뿐 아니라, 아동의 자기보호를 통해서도 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 아동의 자기보호와 미디어 노출은 한부모가정여부가 학교적응에 영향을 미치는 경로에 이중매개효과가 있는 것으로 검증되었다. 즉, 한부모 가정은 일반가정에 비해 아동 자기보호 수준이 높으며, 이는 미디어 노출을 증가시키고 학교적응에 부정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이 결과는 아동 자기보호와 미디어노출에 관련한 정책이 한부모가정 아동의 학교 적응을 도울 수 있음을 시사한다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구는 한부모가정이라는 구조적 특성과 그에 따른 특수한 욕구에 맞는 방과후 돌봄과 아동 미디어노출 관련 정책적, 실천적 제언을 하였다.

국내 디클로로메탄 제조·사용 사업장 근로자의 공정별 노출수준에 대한 작업환경측정값과 ECETOC TRA 모델값 비교연구 (Comparative Study of Korean Workers' Exposure to Dichloromethane by Process Category between Work Environment Monitoring Program and ECETOC TRA)

  • Objectives: By law, companies in Korea must periodically measure workers' exposure to harmful chemicals (the system is called the Work Environment Monitoring Program (WMP)[a]) and report the results to the government. The government also measures exposure to monitor the WMP's reliability (called Reliability Assessment (RA) for WMP[b]). The issue is that measured data from these two sources are so different that the objectivity of WMP needs to be confirmed by comparing the results using the European Centre for Ecotoxicology and Toxicology of Chemicals' Targeted Risk Assessment (ECETOC TRA). Methods: Step 1: Data collection from WMP reports submitted by companies (n=586) and RA for WMP written by the government (n=33). Step 2: Data Standardization by key information included. Step 3: Data conversion to input-variables required to run the ECETOC TRA model, and run the model with specific data (n=514) which meet the predetermined exposure scenario. Step 4: Statistical data analysis by process category (PROC) and ventilation type from each source ([A] and [B]). Step 5: Additional analysis of any unexpected results. Results: The process categories of the production and handling of Dichloromethane were classified into 12 PROCs, and ten of them were selected to run ECETOC TRA. Modeled values tended to be higher than measured values from both sources. For the measured values from WMP, RCR distribution by PROC was narrow (0.197-0.267, 95% CI) and did not have a relationship with ventilation type, which differs from the tendency of the modeling result. Meanwhile, the measured values from RA for WMP were relatively widely distributed (0.301-1.177, 95% CI) by PROC. In particular PROCs (13,19) were high enough to exceed 1. Also, they become low with better ventilation types and appear differently depending on the ventilation type, similar to the model result. Conclusions: This study revealed that ECETOC TRA might have the potential to serve as a screening tool for exposure assessment and to be used as assistive method for WMP to estimate exposure. Further empirical study is required to confirm its availability as a screening tool.

Hurricane vulnerability model for mid/high-rise residential buildings

  • Catastrophe models appraise the natural risk of the built-infrastructure simulating the interaction of its exposure and vulnerability with a hazard. Because of unique configurations and reduced number, mid/high-rise buildings present singular challenges to the assessment of their damage vulnerability. This paper presents a novel approach to estimate the vulnerability of mid/high-rise buildings (MHB) which is used in the Florida Public Hurricane Loss Model, a catastrophe model developed for the state of Florida. The MHB vulnerability approach considers the wind pressure hazard exerted over the building's height as well as accompanying rain. The approach assesses separately the damages caused by wind, debris impact, and water intrusion on building models discretized into typical apartment units. Hurricane-induced water intrusion is predicted combining the estimates of impinging rain with breach and pre-existing building defect size estimates. Damage is aggregated apartment-by-apartment and story-by-story, and accounts for vertical water propagation. The approach enables the vulnerability modeling of regular and complex building geometries in the Florida exposure and elsewhere.

미혼성인의 피임행위 구조모형: 남.녀 비교 (Structural Equation Modeling on Contraception Behavior of Unmarried Men and Women in Korea: Gender Difference)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to test and validate a model to predict contraception behavior in unmarried men and women. Methods: Data were collected from a questionnaire survey of 180 unmarried men and 186 unmarried women 20 years of age or over who had sexual relationships in the past 6 months. Participants were from Seoul, Kyunggi, Daegu, and Busan and data collection was done from February 19 to April 16, 2013. Results: Model fit indices for the hypotheoretical model fitted to the recommended levels. Out of 15 paths, 11 were statistically significant in both. Predictors of contraception behavior in unmarried men and women were intention to use contraception and self-efficacy for contraception. Exposure to sexual content was directly significant to the intention in men only. Self-efficacy for contraception was affected by perceived threat of pregnancy and gender role attitude. In women, the two predictors were also significant except for the effect of exposure to sexual contents. Conclusion: Results indicate that an intervention program which increases self-efficacy in unmarried men and women contributes to effective contraception behavior. In addition, proper sexual education programs using positive aspect of mass media can help develop active participation for contraception behavior.

How sWOM Contribution Motivations Vary by Cosmetics and Restaurants in Vietnam

  • The purpose of this study is to shed light on the driving motivations of contributing social word of mouth on social networking sites (sWOM) toward both tangible and intangible products. In order to develop a research model, this study adopts the motivation theory and TAM model. Data was collected from 904 members of the cosmetic and restaurant communities by using the snowball method. After assessing the validity of all constructs, the structural equation modeling (SEM) is used to test the proposed hypotheses. Results show that personal motivations (satisfaction, opinion leadership, self-enhancement, and economic incentives) and characteristics of sWOM (Perceived Usefulness and Ease of Use) have positive effect on exposure and engagement behaviors. Here are our specific findings, (1) customer satisfaction positively affects online interactions on SNSs such as Like or Sharing a content; (2) sWOM contribution behavior exists in two structures (Exposure and Engagement) and affects each other; (3) This study combines two groups of personal motivation and TAM to conceptualize a research model; and (4) The motivations of contributing sWOM between a specified service and product are rather similar. These findings help digital managers to understand consumers' behavioral contributions on SNSs and also provide interesting insights for marketers.

위해성을 고려한 대기오염물질의 관리 방향 (Direction for the management of air pollutants based on health risk in Korea)

  • Policy direction for the management of air quality in Korea has been on the reduction of the average concentrations of the criteria air pollutants such as sulfur dioxide and fine particles. However, recently, risk based management of air pollutants becomes an important issue. In this study, to develop an effective air quality management policy direction in Korea, (1) the fourth Multiple Air Toxics Exposure Study (MATES IV) carried out in the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SQAQMD) in the USA is reviewed and (2) the results are compared with in these in Seoul and (3) policy directions are suggested. It was found that (1) systematic integrated study comprising of measurement, modeling, emission inventory estimation, and risk assessment was essential to estimate the health risk of air pollutants reliably, (2) cancer risk of diesel particle was dominant over other air pollutants, and (3) health risk based emissions were different from amount based emissions. It was suggested that (1) reducing the exposure from hot spots might important to reduce health risk from air pollutants and (2) an integrated air quality management administration system is important for the efficient management of air pollution.

Numerical data-driven machine learning model to predict the strength reduction of fire damaged RC columns

  • The application of ML approaches in determining the resisting capacity of fire damaged RC columns is introduced in this paper, on the basis of analysis data driven ML modeling. Considering the characteristics of the structural behavior of fire damaged RC columns, the representative five approaches of Kernel SVM, ANN, RF, XGB and LGBM are adopted and applied. Additional partial monotonic constraints are adopted in modelling, to ensure the monotone decrease of resisting capacity in RC column with fire exposure time. Furthermore, additional suggestions are also added to mitigate the heterogeneous composition of the training data. Since the use of ML approaches will significantly reduce the computation time in determining the resisting capacity of fire damaged RC columns, which requires many complex solution procedures from the heat transfer analysis to the rigorous nonlinear analyses and their repetition with time, the introduced ML approach can more effectively be used in large complex structures with many RC members. Because of the very small amount of experimental data, the training data are analytically determined from a heat transfer analysis and a subsequent nonlinear finite element (FE) analysis, and their accuracy was previously verified through a correlation study between the numerical results and experimental data. The results obtained from the application of ML approaches show that the resisting capacity of fire damaged RC columns can effectively be predicted by ML approaches.

  • 본 연구에서는 3차원(3-dimensional, 3D) 프린팅 기술로 출력된 팬톰에 대한 X선 투과성을 평가하고자 하였다. 3D 프린팅 방식은 용융적층조형(fused deposition modeling, FDM) 방식을 이용했으며 소재는 아크릴로나이트릴 뷰타다이엔 스타이렌(acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, ABS)을 사용하였다. 팬톰은 원통 모양으로 설계하였으며 전산화단층영상장비(computed tomography, CT)에서 획득한 단면영상으로 균일도를 측정하였다. X선 투과성 평가는 3D 출력된 팬톰 내부에 이온챔버를 삽입하여 실시하였다. 그 결과, 평균 균일도가 2.70 HU이었으며 기존 폴리메틸 메타크릴레이트(poly methyl methacrylate, PMMA) CT 팬톰과 3D 프린터로 출력된 팬톰에서 측정된 X선 투과성의 상관관계는 0.976로 높은 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 향후 3D 프린팅 기술을 이용한 방사선정도관리 팬톰 제작에 기초자료로 활용할 수 있으리라 기대한다.

  • 고준위 방사성폐기물 처분장으로부터 유출된 핵종에 의한 선량률을 계산하기 위한 생태계평가 코드 ACBIO를 일반적인 구획모델링도구인 AMBER를 이용하여 BIOMASS 방법론을 적용하여 개발하였다. ACBIO의 유용성을 보이고, 구획의 변화나 일부 파라미터값의 변화에 따른 구획 내 농도와 방사능, 그리고 구획간의 플럭스의 민감도도 검토하였다. 지하매질-생태계 경계(GBI)를 통해 넘어오는 핵종의 유출플럭스에 따른 선량환산인자를 각 핵종별로 구하여 결정집단내 개인의 최대피폭선량율을 선량환산인자로 얻는 계산을 수행하였다. 또한 생태계 요소의 구획모델링이나 가능한 피폭집단의 설정, 그리고 GBI의 인지 등이 생태계평가에 중요한 요소가 되는 것을 확인하였다.

Analytical post-heating behavior of concrete-filled steel tubular columns containing tire rubber

  • This research focused on analyzing the post-fire behavior of high-performance concrete-filled steel tube (CFST) columns, with the concrete containing tire rubber and steel fibers, under axial compressive loading. The finite element (FE) modeling of such heated columns containing recycled aggregate is a branch of this field which has not received the proper attention of researchers. Better understanding the post-fire behavior of these columns by measuring their residual strength and deformation is critical for achieving the minimum repair level required for structures damaged in the fire. Therefore, to develop this model, 19 groups of confined and unconfined specimens with the variables including the volume ratio of steel fibers, tire rubber content, diameter-to-thickness (D/t) ratio of the steel tube, and exposure temperature were considered. The ABAQUS software was employed to model the tested specimens so that the accurate behavior of the FE-modeled specimens could be examined under test conditions. To achieve desirable results for the modeling of the specimens, in addition to the novel procedure described in this research, the modified versions of models presented by previous researchers were also utilized. After the completion of modeling, the load-axial strain and load-lateral strain relationships, ultimate strength, and failure mode of the modeled CFST specimens were evaluated against the test data, through which the satisfactory accuracy of this modeling procedure was established. Afterward, using a parametric study, the effect of factors such as the concrete core strength at different temperatures and the D/t ratio on the behavior of the CFST columns was explored. Finally, the compressive strength values obtained from the FE model were compared with the corresponding values predicted by various codes, the results of which indicated that most codes were conservative in terms of these predictions.
