도심교통소음의 노출시간에 대한 불쾌도 및 소음크기 감각량 변화 고찰 (A Study of the Perception Annoyance and Loudness according to Exposition Time for the Traffic Noise)

  • This article on environmental noise qualify is concerned with the relationships between the annoyance and perception and sound quality metrics according to exposition time for traffic noise. For invested the characteristics of noise quality, we conducted to the subjective experiments of the annoyance response using the absolute 100 scaling method for the traffic noise sources. The traffic noise sources are composed to varieties exposition time from 15sec to 1200sec. As the results, the first there are decreased the perception loud level for the increase of exposition time with logarithm scale, but increased the annoyance. Second, evaluation index of annoyance is correlated to the loudness(sones), tonality and logarithm scale time with R2=0.83. Also, the composition ratio of traffic noise according to exposition time has the change of range as the logarithm scale ($30{\sim}50%$), tonality($27{\sim}37%$) and loudness($34{\sim}20%$).

Multiple Chemical Sensitivity in Chemical Laboratory Workers

  • Background: Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS) is an acquired disease which etiology remains unknown. It is characterized by the development of sensitivity to certain chemical products. Most of the hypotheses formulated to explain the syndrome associate it to a previous exposition to some kind of volatile chemical. University researchers in chemical laboratories suffer a phenomenon of multi-exposition to chemical agents at low concentration during long periods of time although in an irregular form. Many of these chemical agents have similar properties to those suspicious of causing MCS. This article studies the prevalence of MCS in laboratory researchers. Methods: The study group is university researchers in chemical laboratories. The control group was obtained from administrative personnel who work in the same universities and therefore, are not exposed to chemical products from the laboratories, but have the same exposition to the rest of environmental polluting agents from the area and from the buildings of the university. In this study, it is used the Quick Environmental Exposure and Sensitivity Inventory (QEESI) (sensitivity of 92%/specificity of 95%). Results: The results showed that the prevalence of MCS for the university researchers is not related to exposition by inhalation to multiple chemical agents, at low concentration. Conclusions: The results disagree with one of the main etiological hypotheses of MCS, which is based on the existence of hypersensitive people, who presents a response after prolonged expositions to very low concentrations during a long period of time.

근대 초기 파리만국박람회(1900) "한국관"의 건축과정과 초기설계안의 디자인 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Construction Process and Design Characteristics of Korean Pavilion in Paris 1900 Exposition Universelle in Korean Modern Architecture)

  • The purpose of this study is to clarify the historical circumstances under which the Korean Pavilion was established at the 1900 Paris Exposition Universelle, and the construction process and design features of the pavilion building. At that time, even though Korea faced difficulty due to lack of experience in the world exposition and funds, Korea attempted to positively participate in the international cultural event by establishing the Korean Pavilion under an official contract with assistance of the French Government. Moreover, the Pavilion shows significant architectural features which had not been shown until then in terms of the structure and design of the pavilion building. In this connection, in this thesis, among others, the historical circumstances under which the "Korean Pavilion" was established at the 1900 Paris Exposition Universelle, and the construction process as well as the process and features of the draft design prepared at an early stage by Baron Delort de Gleon on the part of France among the above parties to the project for construction of the Korean Pavilion, which have never been addressed in the field of architecture or interior due to lack of existing data, will be clearly studied based on relevant literatures. According to analysis of the study, it reveals that the representation method for the Korean tradition of Korean Pavilion designed by Baron Delort de Gleon was based on the Chinoiserie, the style widely seen in Europe. In addition, Delort de Glean's commerce-oriented concept is integrated into the design of the Korean Pavilion as well.

A Case Study on Gifted Education in Mathematics

  • The Center for Science Gifted Education (CSGE) of Chongju National University of Education was established in 1998 with the financial support of the Korea. Science & Engineering Foundation (KOSEF). In fact, we had prepared mathematics and science gifted education program beginning in 1997. It was possible due to the commitment of faculty members with an interest in gifted education. Now we have 5 classes in Mathematics, two of which are fundamental, one of which is a strengthened second-grade class gifted elementary school students, and one a fundamental class, and one a strengthened class for gifted middle school students in Chungbuk province. Each class consists of 16 students selected by a rigorous examination and filtering process. Also we have a mentoring system for particularly gifted students in mathematics. We have a number of programs for Super-Saturday, Summer School, Winter School, and Mathematics and Science Gifted Camp. Each program is suitable for 90 or 180 minutes of class time. The types of tasks developed can be divided into experimental, group discussion, open-ended problem solving, and exposition and problem solving tasks. Levels of the tasks developed for talented elementary students in mathematics can be further divided into grade 5 and under, grade 6, and grade 7 and over. Also levels of the tasks developed for talented elementary students in mathematics can be divided into the level of lower than grade 5, level of grade 6, and level of more than grade 7. The Effects of Rotating Magnetic Field on Growth Rate, Cell Metabolic Activity and Biofilm Formation by Staphylococcus Aureus and Escherichia Coli

  • This work presents results of the study which concerns the influence of the rotating magnetic field (RMF) on the growth rate, cell metabolic activity and ability to form biofilms by E. coli and S. aureus. Liquid cultures of the bacteria were exposed to the RMF (RMF frequency f = 1-50 Hz, RMF magnetic induction B = 22-34 mT, time of exposure t = 60 min, temperature of incubation $37^{\circ}C$). The present study indicate the exposition to the RMF, as compared to the unexposed controls causing an increase in the growth dynamics, cell metabolic activities and percentage of biofilm-forming bacteria, in both S. aureus and E. coli cultures. It was also found that the stimulating effects of the RMF exposition enhanced with its increasing frequencies and magnetic inductions.

블로그(Blog)를 통해 본 2013순천만국제정원박람회에 대한 인식 (The Implication and Recognition of International Garden Exposition Suncheon Bay Korea 2013 on Blogs)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 블로거들이 전달하는 2013순천만국제정원박람회에 대한 정보와 소감을 통해 관람객들의 인식(認識)을 파악함으로써 국제정원박람회장의 활용이나 유사한 계획에 유용한 시사점을 도출하고자 하는 것이다. 연구는 인터넷 포털사이트에서 순천만국제정원박람회를 키워드로 검색하여 나타난 상위 300건의 블로그를 대상으로 하였다. 블로거들은 2013순천만국제정원박람회의 특정 정원이나 공간에 대한 인상과 선호를 그 이유와 함께 가감 없이 기술하고 있어 관람객들의 인식을 선명하게 포착할 수 있었다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 세계 정원에 대한 선호는 네덜란드정원, 한국정원, 중국정원, 프랑스정원 순이었다. 전반적으로 세계 정원에 대한 만족도는 높지 않았고, 실망감을 구체적으로 표현한 블로거들이 많았다. 둘째, 참여 정원에 대한 인지도가 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 참여 정원은 새로운 소재와 실험적인 디자인을 통해 정원 예술을 소개하는 정원박람회 본래의 취지를 대변하는 장소로서 보다 중시할 필요가 있다고 생각한다. 셋째, 많은 블로거들이 세부 경관과 일시적 경관 같은 미시 경관에서 깊은 인상을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 박람회장 같은 넓은 대상지에서도 미시 경관은 중요한 경관 체험 요소로 중시되어야 한다는 것을 시사한다. 넷째, 관람객들은 '순천호수정원'과 '꿈의 다리'를 가장 인상적인 장소로 인식하고 있었다. 이들은 2013순천만국제정원박람회의 아이콘이자 대표 경관이기도 하지만 세계 정원과 참여 정원에 대한 인식 약화의 원인이기도 한 것으로 나타났다. 다섯째, 대부분의 관람객들은 입장료가 "비싸다"고 인식하고 있었다. 우리 사회가 비용을 지불하고, 정원을 관람하는 것에 대한 인식이 아직 정립되지 않은 것으로 이해할 수 있다. 정원 문화에 대한 인식 제고를 위해 더 많은 노력이 필요하다는 것을 시사한다. 전반적으로 블로거들은 2013순천만국제정원박람회에 대해 만족감을 표현하지만, 실망한 점이나 개선 사항과 같은 비판적 인식을 구체적으로 나타내는 블로거들도 많았다. 이러한 비판적 의견은 유용한 시사점을 제공하고 있다. 이런 측면에서 블로거는 '시민 비평가'라고 할 수 있고, 블로그는 일반들의 '격식 없는 담론의 장'이라고 할 수 있다. 인식 조사 방법으로써 블로그는 주관적이고 개인적이라 해석에 어려움이 있고, 자료를 정량화하여 분석하는 데에는 비록 한계점이 있지만, 다양하고 구체적인 인식을 포착할 수 있는 통로이기도 하다. 블로그의 이러한 측면은 향후 박람회장 활용이나 유사 프로젝트의 계획을 위한 인식 조사의 유용한 방법이 될 수 있을 것으로 전망한다.

  • 이 논문은, 선형점탄성체가 과도온도상태에 있을때의 거동을 시간영역 경계요소법에 의해 해석하고 있다. 점탄성체에 대해서 '열유동단순'거동을 가정하였다. 경계요소 공식화과정을 설명한 후, 예제문제에 대한 수치해석 결과를 보여주었다.

u-Conference를 위한 RFID 기반의 실시간 상황 서비스 모델 (Real-time Context Service Model Based on RFID for u-Conference)

  • Recently ubiquitous application services are developed plentifully using RFID techniques in the field of distribution and security industries. However, except these field the applications using RFID are not mature yet. In this study, we proposed a real-time context service model of the u-conference based on the real-time contextual information acquired from conference and exposition. With collection of real-time contextual information for u-conference, the model can provide a lot of information services on the state of session attendee, doorway control, affairs, user certification, presentation progress etc. For the verification of proposed real-time context service model of u-conference, we design and implement the conference progress state service included the state of session attendee, user certification and presentation progress etc. This service provides the presentation state information included the current presenter, the paper list, the number of session attendee, the schedule and place of each session using the collecting RFID tag and the related information.

Influence of corrosive phenomena on bearing capacity of RC and PC beams

  • The attack of environmental aggressive agents progressively reduces the structural reliability of buildings and infrastructures and, in the worst exposition conditions, may even lead to their collapse in the long period. A change in the material and sectional characteristics of a structural element, due to the environmental damaging effects, changes its mechanical behaviour and varies both the internal stress redistribution and the kinematics through which it reaches its ultimate state. To identify such a behaviour, the evolution of both the damaging process and its mechanical consequences have to be taken into account. This paper presents a computational approach for the analysis of reinforced and prestressed concrete elements under sustained loading conditions and subjected to given damaging scenarios. The effects of the diffusion of aggressive agents, of the onset and development of the corrosion state in the reinforcement and the corresponding mechanical response are studied. As known, the corrosion on the reinforcing bars influences the damaging rate in the cracking pattern evolution; hence, the damage development and the mechanical behaviours are considered as coupled phenomena. The reliability of such an approach is validated in modelling the diffusion of the aggressive agents and the changes in the mechanical response of simple structural elements whose experimental behaviour is reported in Literature. A second set of analyses studies the effects of the corrosion of the tendons of a P.C. beam and explores potentially unexpected structural responses caused by corrosion under different aggressive exposition. The role of the different types and of the different positions of the damaging agents is discussed. In particular, it is shown how the collapse mode of the beam may switch from flexural to shear type, in case corrosion is caused by a localized chloride attack in the shear span.

The Effect of Rotating Magnetic Field on Enterotoxin Genes Expression in Staphylococcus Aureus Strains

  • Staphylococcus aureus cultures exposed to rotating magnetic field (RMF) were studied in order to analyse the possible induced changes in staphylococcal enterotoxin genes (se) expression. Liquid cultures of S. aureus strains carrying different se were exposed to the RMF of magnetic frequency 50 Hz and magnetic induction 34 mT for 10 h at $37^{\circ}C$. Three time points of bacterial growth cycle were considered for RNA extractions. Gene expression analyses were evaluated using real-time quantitative PCR method. The present study confirmed, that the RMF can stimulate the growth rate of S. aureus cultures in comparison to the unexposed controls, while the stimulation is not strain dependent. The studies have also shown, that the RMF, depending on the exposure time but regardless the bacterial strain, can influence on the expression of various se. In general, except for sea, as a result of bacterial exposure to the RMF through subsequent growth phases, the expression of se decreased, reaching the values below results recorded for unexposed controls. In the case of sea expression remained at a lower level as compared to the control, regardless the time of exposition.
