중소수출기업의 특성에 따른 수출 활성화 저해요인 인식차이에 관한 연구 (A Study on Differences in Perception of Export Disruption Factors by Characteristics of Small and Medium Export Companies)

  • Exports play an important role in Korea's economy and industry. Korea's share in world trade is also increasing. Governments and trade organizations are making great efforts to promote exports. However, since SMEs lack resources of enterprises, SMEs have a lot of difficulties in increasing exports compared to large enterprises. For this reason, in this study, we analyzed the difference of perception of export difficulties according to characteristics of small and medium export companies. As a result, four factors such as overseas market information, price and cost, competitiveness and regulation of importing country were derived. In addition, we investigated the differences in recognition of export difficulties by the stage of growth of company, period of export, products exported, export department, size of company. There was a significant difference in recognition. Especially, The companies which are the early stages of growth, short export period, finished product, the smaller the size of exports companies are more difficult in export difficulties.

A Study on Competitiveness in the Aircraft Industry

  • Purpose - This study shows that which country has more competitiveness in aerospace industry. The reason why author choose aerospace industry for research is aerospace industry is one of major business in every country in the world instead of infant industry. Research design and methodology - In order to research this topic, there are 3 tools to analyze competitiveness in aerospace industry. To achieve analysis of competitiveness between USA and England, UN comtrade program which provides huge database including time serial data. Results - All of TSI are over zero (0) which means that from 2000 to 2018, USA aerospace industry is export specialization as USA aerospace industry has comparative advantage against England aerospace industry. All of TSI in USA are approaching to figure +1 as export specialization except 2010. Conclusions - Even though RCA value in 2000 is 6.313, however, when time goes by and they are 8.997 in 2005, 8.007 in 2010 and 8.389 in 2015 respectively and RCA value is slightly going down as figure 7 in 2018. we review above market share analysis data, USA has overpoweringly superior competitive power against British aerospace industry.

한국 자동차의 대중국 수출경쟁력에 관한 연구 - RCA, CAC, ESI 지수 비교를 중심으로 (An Empirical Study on the Export Competitiveness of Korean Automobiles in the Local Chinese Market)

  • 본고에서는 RCA지수, CAC지수, ESI를 이용하여 지난 2000년 이래 7년간 세계자동차시장 점유율 상위 6개국을 대상으로 중국시장에서의 자동차 수출경쟁력을 비교 분석하였다. RCA지수를 분석한 결과, 한국자동차의 국제시장에서의 경쟁력은 일본, 독일에 이어 높은 것으로 나타났으나 중국자동차시장에서는 수출경합국 중 최하위의 국제경쟁력을 가진 것으로 조사되었다. 국제시장에서 한국자동차의 RCA지수가 7년 평균 1.867인데 비해 중국시장에서의 CAC지수는 1.053에 불과하였다. 그러나 한국자동차는 프랑스시장에서 CAC지수 3.338, 미국시장에서 2.454, 독일시장에서 2.143, 일본시장에서 0.067을 기록함으로써, 프랑스, 미국, 독일시장에서 선전하고 있는 반면, 일본시장과 중국시장에서의 국제경쟁력은 매우 취약한 상태임을 확인할 수 있었다. 한편 세계자동차시장에서 한국자동차와 수출경합도가 가장 높은 국가는 독일과 일본으로 관측되었고, 중국시장의 경우 한국-독일, 한국-일본 수출경합도가 세계시장의 ESI보다는 미약하게 형성되어 있었다. 따라서 우리는 세계 및 중국자동차시장의 동향과 중국당국의 정책변화를 면밀하게 모니터링하고 업계와 정부간의 신속하고 유기적인 공조체제를 구축함으로써 중국시장의 경쟁체제 변화에 능동적으로 대응하는 전략을 강구해야 할 것으로 보인다.

Analytic Comparisons of Shipbuilding Competitiveness between China and Korea

  • Purpose - This research empirically proves that global shipbuilding industry leadership has moved to China from Korea. Design/Methodology - Competitiveness is measured by AHP for the weights of comprehensive competitiveness, which is the output mixture of three attributive factors: shipbuilding technology, shipbuilding contract price, and export credit. Findings - China is far ahead of Korea for standard vessels such as bulkers and containerships with competitiveness weights of 0.762 and 0.612, respectively, against 0.238 and 0.388 of Korea. Korea is maintaining its competitiveness only in LNG carriers (174k CBM) with a competitiveness weight 0.621. China and Korea have similar competitiveness for chemical carriers, complex vessels with a small hull size. The sources of Chinese competitiveness are shipbuilding contract price and export credit. With the majority share of standard vessel types in the world fleet, China will hold a bigger market share than Korea in the global shipbuilding industry in the forthcoming years. Implications - The swing factors of market power are shipbuilding technology and contract price. If China fails to further develop shipbuilding technology for shipowners worried about the reliability of the Chinese-built vessels, shipowners may swing back to Korea. The rising Chinese labor cost will expedite this swing in the forthcoming competition. Originality/value - To the best of the author's knowledge, this is the first paper that quantitatively examines the competitiveness of shipbuilding between China and Korea by comparing attributive factors for competitiveness.

국내 화장품 분류와 HS코드와의 맵핑(Mapping)을 통한 2004년 시장분석 (Analysis of Korean Cosmetic Market through Mapping the HS Code to Category of Legal System in 2004)

  • 우리나라의 화장품법상 유형분류를 기준으로 수출입 통계에서 사용되는 HS 코드를 맵핑하여 통합분류를 통한 2004년 국내 시장분석을 실시하였다. 내수 규모(생산액 - 수출액 + 수입액)는 3,272 십억원으로서 2003년 대비 5.6% 감소하였다. 국내 화장품 생산실적은 2003년 대비 0.6% 감소되었고 수입은 4.4% 감소하였으나 수출은 55.7% 증가하였다. 수출품목 중 면도용과 두발용 화장품이 높은 증가율을 보였다. 내수실적은 방향용, 염모용, 메이크업용 등의 감소가 두드러졌으며 어린이용, 매니큐어용 두 품목만이 증가하였다. 수입제품 점유율(=수입액/내수액)은 17.8%로서 2003의 18.0%에 이어 정체되고 있는 경향이다. 유형별로는 방향용(79.6%), 염모용(27.6%) 및 목욕용(26.6%)의 점유율이 높았다.

The Emergence of Competitiveness in Korea-China Ship Distribution Industry

  • Purpose - This paper reviews the changes in the ship export and import structure between Korea and China. It utilizes the comparative advantage trade theory to analyze time-series statistical data from the market share index, revealed comparative advantage index (RCA), and trade specialization index(TSI). Research design, data, and methodology - Based on their economic phases, both Korea and China have similar country characteristics. The purpose of this research is to understand the two country's trade structures to fortify the Korea-Sino economic relationship including verifying what is working and what is not. Results - Based on the analysis, bilateral economic activity to achieve a plus trade stimulus environment should be realized in the long run. Both countries should establish guarantee-free trade negotiations and boundaries instead of various non-tariff barriers. Conclusion - Reviewing the research, a sound competitive relationship can be grown for mutual benefit including export market diversification in the near future. The review of the Korea-Sino ship industry is keenly important and investigative research about it is timely because it is a major industry in each country.

불변시장점유율분석, 변이할당분석, 국별비교우위지수, 국별비교열위지수를 이용한 광양항의 수출경쟁력 분석 (Analysis of Export Competitiveness of Gwangyang Port Using Constant Market Shares Analysis, Shift-share Analysis, and Comparative Advantage (Disadvantage) by Countries)

  • 본고는 광양항의 수출경쟁력을 분석하기 위해 변이할당분석, 국별비교우위(열위)지수, 불변시장점유율분석을 함께 이용한다. 먼저 광양항의 주요 수출품목인 HS 39, 72, 28, 29의 국별비교우위지수를 도출하여 광양항이 중국에 대해 HS 39, 28에서는 비교우위를, HS 72에서는 비교열위를, HS 29에 대해서는 불안정한 우위가 있다는 것과 4개 품목 모두에서 비교우위정도가 계속해서 감소하고 있다는 것을 보인다. 국별비교열위지수를 이용하여 중국이 수입시장에서 다른 품목들에 비해 4개 품목에 대해 비교우위를 가지나 비교우위정도가 점차 감소하고 있다는 것도 밝힌다. 불변시장점유율 분석을 통해 중국의 수입구조는 불리하게 작용하는데 반해 중국의 수입규모효과는 모두 유리하게 작용한다는 것과 경쟁력효과는 HS 39와 29에는 불리하게 작용하나 HS 28과 72에는 유리하게 작용함을 보인다. 변이할당분석을 통해 4개 품목 모두 항만의 혜택을 받지 못하며, HS 28은 산업구조효과와 지역경쟁력이 긍정적이나, HS 72는 지역의 경쟁력은 있으나 산업구조가 불리하며, HS 39는 산업구조는 유리하나 지역경쟁력이 떨어지고, HS 29는 불리한 산업구조는 물론 경쟁력도 약함을 밝힌다.

시장비교우위지수를 이용한 부산항의 수출경쟁력 분석 (Export Competitiveness of Busan Port: Market Comparative Advantage Index)

  • 부산항의 수출이 우리나라 항만의 수출에서 차지하는 비중은 계속해서 감소하고 있는데, 이와 같은 항만의 위상변화는 해당 항만의 주요 수출시장과 수출품목에서 그 원인을 찾아볼 수 있다. 본고는 중국에 대한 부산항의 주요 10개 수출품목의 경쟁력이 어떻게 변화할 것인가를 밝히기 위해 시장비교우위(Market Comparative Advantage: MCA)지수를 도출하여 변화하는 행태를 분석함과 동시에 MCA지수를 대 중국 수출비중과 중국의 수입비중으로 분해한다. 부산항의 수출경쟁력은 MCA지수가 하락한 HS8703 품목을 제외한 9개 품목에서 상승하나, 이 중 7개 품목에서 중국의 수입비중이 감소함을 보인다. 그런데 중국의 수입비중이 줄어든다는 것은 시장비교우위지수가 상승하여도 수출증가를 낙관할 수 없다는 것을 의미한다. 중국의 수입비중이 감소하는 7개 품목에서 5개 품목은 대중 수출비중이 상승하나 2개 품목에서는 대중 수출비중도 함께 하락하여 MCA의 상승에도 불구하고 수출전망이 어둡다는 것을 보인다. 결국 HS3920, HS8708, HS8703과 같은 3개 품목에서만 수출경쟁력 향상이 수출전망을 밝게 한다는 것을 밝힌다. HS8708 품목이 부산항의 대중 수출에서 1위를 차지하는 품목이라는 점은 부산항의 대중 수출에 긍정적인 요소가 될 수 있으나, 10개 품목 중 3개 품목에서만 수출전망이 밝다는 것은 부산항의 대중 수출에 대해 전반적인 검토가 있어야 한다는 것을 보인다.

EVs 산업의 시장파급과 상용화의 전략비교 : 비셰그라드 그룹과 북유럽 협의체와의 산업역량중심으로 (Strategy of Market Spread-Commercialization in EVs Industry : Visegrad and Nordic Countries)

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study is to classify that the quality factors for comparing the Visegrard Group with the Nordic Council have historical similarities against Germany and the Soviet Union. However, this is because in the integrated European market, the competitiveness possessed by the two groups of countries is invested in the priority order to grow. Research design, data, and methodology - The study was conducted on the research design, and the reason for trying to compare the competence of the automobile industry in the assessment of industrial capability is that the Visegrard Group focuses on automotive production and the Nordic Association focuses on the commercialization of the automobile(market). In this study, searching and quantifying indirect evidence was made through standards are more complementary in Europe since each country acts like the role of the European automotive industry for example, which is different from the realistic evaluation criteria, are more important than those of the United States(first in the world) or Germany(first in Europe). Results - The results of this study are as follows: In the global EV market U.S.(export: $ 2.62 billion /share: 36.7%), Germany($ 1.29 billion /18.1%), France($ 390 million /5.4%), United Kingdom($ 380 million /5.4%), and South Korea($ 320 million/ 4.4%). South Korea's share of the EV market is 4.4%, while TSI reaches at +0.9 which measures the comparative advantage of a specific commodity in the world trade market. There is great potential for evaluated as products processing in export competition. But, commercialization, standardization, and overall market expansion did not have a positive impact on global satisfaction. Conclusions - EVs put importance on various utilities. So this suggests that Korea's exports to the EU, including the Visegrard Group, should be more focused on marketability when illuminating with a sharing industrial system under the European Union. It is necessary to specialize in manufacturing and commercialization by country(region) to prepare sharing economy and blockchain in order to create a smart-sharing city linked on artificial intelligence, as the commercialization of electric vehicles, which will have a larger growth rate than that of manufacturing in the fourth revolutionary era.

4IR 시대의 글로벌 밸류체인(GVC) 활용과 인도시장 FDI 성과에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Global Value Chain (GVC) of Indian Market and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the Age of 4IR)

  • In recent years, the Indian market has gained worldwide attention in the global trading business environment. Korean companies are also seeking to enter the indian market, and their foreign trade investment strategy is based on the Global Value Chain(GVC). In this study, we examine difference from traditional investment strategy to GVC investment strategy in the age of 4IR(fourth industrial revolution) through using POLS model(pooled least square), FEM(fixed effect model), and REM(randomized effect model). Based on the analysis of 84 monthly data related to the FDI and international trade effects between Korea and India, the following results were found. As Korean companies increased their share of export to the Indian market and export to the Indian market, the number of new companies directly invested in overseas market increased. However, the amount of import into the Indian market was relatively low in relation to the number of new companies directly in overseas markets. As a result of analyzing the investment strategy of the GVC in India, the GVC has shifted from manufacturing to process upgrading to enter the GVC on Smile Curve.
