  • In this paper we developed an object-based expert system for electric power system fault diagnosis. The object corresponds to a hardware or event in real world and they are independent each other. The expert system is designed to estimate the fault sections and identify the false operation, nonoperation of protective devices. The expert system was developed using C++ language in pentium PC. We applied the expert system in various sample systems and showed that making up a knowledge base is easier and diagnosis was done in a approximately real time.

  • To design protection coordination for an electric power distribution system, an expert system is developed, using both the veteran expert's heuristics and the guide book for the distribution facility operation considering feeder configuration, service route, load characteristics fault current and load current. The expert system developed in this papaer determines the type of protective device(clearing current and sequence). The location and rating change of protective device in the old feeder is realized by using old database. Current(T-C) curves of various kinds of protective devices are stored in Knowledge Base (KB). The expert system is developed on a 32 bit personal computer using PROLOG, AutoCAD,dBASEIIIPLUS and FORTRAN. To compute the fault current and loadflow, FORTRAN is used.

Expert Opinion Elicitation Process Using a Fuzzy Probability

  • This study presents a new approach for expert opinion elicitation process to assess an uncertainty inherent in accident management. The need to work with rare event and limited data in accident management leads analysis to use expert opinions extensively. Unlike the conventional approach using point-valued probabilities, the study proposes the concept of fuzzy probability to represent expert opinion. The use of fuzzy probability has an advantage over the conventional approach when an expert's judgment is used under limited dat3 and imprecise knowledge. The study demonstrates a method of combining and propagating fuzzy probabilities. finally, the proposed methodology is applied to the evaluation of the probability of a bottom head failure for the flooded case in the Peach Bottom BWR nuclear power plant.

상정사고를 고려한 무효전력/전압제어 전문가 시스템 (A Knowledge Based System for Reactive Power/Voltage Control Including Contingency)

  • This paper presents a knowledge based system to solve reactive power/voltage control problem in a power system. A need is recognized for new methods to alleviate a bus voltage limit violation more quickly when a power system becomes an emergency state due to contingency. To cope with this object, a set of indices concept which is used to make bus order list of reactive power injection priority is introduced. A set of indices, based on the overall system conditions, consists of steady state stability index, reactive power transmittance indes, voltage severity index and generator fuel cost index. This scheme and empirical rules of the knowledge on the basis of the human expert result in fast decision-making of the reactive power compensation devices since only the amount of devices is determined by the inference in the knowledge based system when the voltage violation is detected. In this approach, control devices such as shunt capacitor (reactor), transformer tap settings and generator voltages are utilized. Also the developed system herein can be used to minimize control action taken or generator fuel cost according to the user's option on the weighting factor. The results of a case study are also presented.

  • A newly developed Expert System (ES) for the tuning of thermal power plant control equipment is described. The system is furnished with the rules for controller tuning which were obtained by analysis and arranging the data and knowledge from the experts or tuning records. Based on these rules, automatic tuning or setting of the control parameters is performed in real-time base. The performance of the test equipment, a combination of ES and a boiler simulator, was examined in the automatic tuning test for steam pressure, steam temperature, and load controllers of a constant-pressure once-through boiler model. It was confirmed from the test results that the system is quite promising for future application to actual plants, since the tuning results obtained by the proposed system were similar to those by tuning experts.

온라인 전력계통 고장 진단 시스템 개발 (On Line Fault Diagnosis in the Large Power System)

  • Recently, power system is getting larger and more complex. When the complex power system has a problem, it is very difficult even for the experts to find out where the problem is and to make a timely decision by operators. There have been many studies on these problems but the results are not good enough for applying to real power system. Therefore, power system operators always had to judge the exact state of power system and be preparative for the problems that can occur later. We developed new methods that can be applied to complex power system by dividing the system into small modules. By using 'module', we can combine small modules together to make complex power systems and the knowledge base that is applied to fault diagnosis system. As a result, compared to previously developed diagnosis products, operation time is shortened and the knowledge base is become simpler and clearer, which made online usage capable. This system can be used as a complementary measurement that helps the operator from making any mistakes.

  • 과거 산업화 시대와 비교하여 현대 지식사회에서는 노동력의 중심이 육체노동에서 지식 노동으로 이동되었지만, 지식근로자의 생산성에는 극적인 성과가 나타나지 않고 있다. 따라서 "현대경영학의 아버지"라고 불리는 피터 드러커의 사상을 기반으로 전문가, 성과, 집중, 자기관리, 인생의 후반부의 지식근로의 요인과 지식근로자의 생산성 결정요소인 과업, 혁신, 자율성, 교육, 품질, ICT활용능력과의 연관성에 대하여 연구한 결과, 지식근로의 요인에 있어서는 성과>집중>자기관리>전문가, 인생의 후반부 순으로 연관성이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 특히 지식근로자에게 모든 생산성 결정요소와 영향요인으로는 성과로 나타났다. 따라서 지식근로자는 "성과"를 중심으로 자신의 분야에서 끊임없는 정보의 탐색과 활용을 통하여 목표를 달성하고, 조직과 사회에 공헌하면서 더불어 살아가는 공동체를 형성하는 데 앞장서야 할 것이다.

  • 전선착설로 인한 전력설비에의 피해를 방지하기 위하여, 전선착설을 예측하고 적절한 전선착설 방지대책을 제시하는 것은, 전선착설로 인한 피해 발생의 가능성과 전력계통의 안정적 운영의 양 측면을 동시에 고려하여야 하기 때문에 고도한 판단과 결단이 필요한 문제로써, 지식공학적 수법을 적용하는 것이 매우 효과적인 분야이다. 이에 따라, 전선착설의 예측과 방지대책 수립에 관련된 경험적 지식을 지식베이스화하여 전문가 시스템을 구축하고, 사례 데이터를 이용한 시뮬레이션을 통하여 제안 기법의 유효성을 확인하였다.

  • Verification is a process aimed at demonstrating whether a system meets it's specified requirements. As expert systems are used in various applications, the knowledge base verification of systems fakes an important position. The conventional Petri net approach that has been studied recently in order to verify the knowledge base is found that it is inadequate to verify the knowledge base of large and complex system, such as alarm processing system of nuclear power plant. Thus, we propose an improved method that models the knowledge base as enhanced colored Petri net. In this study. we analyze the reachability and the error characteristics of the knowledge base and apply the method to verification of simple knowledge base.

기술정보 전문 검색 인력 양성을 위한 교과 과정모델 개발 (Development of a Course Curriculum for Technology Information Special Search Man-power)

  • 산업사회에서 지식기반 사회로 전환됨에 따라 모든 산업체에서는 기술정보를 신속, 정확하게 수집, 분석하여 경영활동에 반영하기 위한 기술정보관리의 필요성이 크게 증가하고 있다. 특히 기술정보에 취약한 중소기업 연구소의 경우 개발된 기술이나 개발하려 하는 기술에 대한 기술정보 취득의 어려움으로 연구개발에 커다란 어려움을 겪고 있다. 이에 대한 요구사항은 중소기업연구소를 대상으로 인터뷰 및 설문지를 통한 분석을 통해 파악하였다. 이러한 중요성에 비해 국내에서는 기술정보를 효율적으로 다룰 수 있는 전문인력양성을 위한 교육과정이 미비한 실정이다. 이러한 실정을 감안하여 본 논문은 과학기술 및 관련 정보에 대한 검색 및 분석에 필요한 전문지식 및 기능을 갖춘 검색인력을 양성할 수 있는 교육과정모델을 제시 및 개발하였다. 본 논문에서 개발한 교육과정모델은 국내 기술정보검색인력양상에 기여 할 것으로 예상된다.
