  • Five reinforced concrete rigid frame and masonry infilled wall and cut off type masonry infilled wall were constructed and tesed during vertical and cycle loads simultaneously. Experimental programs were accomplished to evaluate the structural performance of test spcimens, such as the hysteretic behavior, the maximum horizontal strength, crack propagation, and ductility etc. Test variables are hoop reinforcement ratio and masonry infilled wall with on without. All the specimens were modelling in one-third scale size.

  • We propose a novel high dynamic range (HDR) video synthesis algorithm from alternatively exposed low dynamic range (LDR) videos. We first estimate correspondences between input fames using an illumination invariant descriptor. Then, we synthesize an HDR frame with the weights computed to maximize detail preservation in the output HDR frame. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm provides high-quality HDR videos without noticeable artifacts.

  • In this paper we design a key-frame editor for 3D sign-language animation using the inverse kinematics. Using the editor, we can calculate the joint angles for two arms automatically. Up to now we have computed the values of the joint angles using the forward kinematics, where we have determined the values heuristically based on our experiences. To overcome the drawbacks, we employ the arm transformation matrix of the inverse kinematics. Experimental results show a possibility that the proposed method could be used for making up the sign-language communication dictionaries.

  • Springback after forming is the critical factor affecting the product quality. It is very difficult to predict the amount of springback not only because of complex geometry and material characteristics of the stamping product but because the methodology has not been established. In this study springback mechanism is introduced and experimental tryout and computer simulation are carried out for die design of automotive rear side frame. Futher springback was verified by comparing the result of computer simulation with the measured tryout result.

  • In this paper, a frame rate up-conversion algorithm using the motion vector frequency of neighboring blocks to reduce the block artifacts caused by failure of conventional motion estimation based on block matching algorithm is proposed. Experimental results show good performance of the proposed scheme with significant reduction of the erroneous motion vectors and block artifacts.

  • In this paper, we propose feature extraction and tracking algorithm using multi resolution in 2-dimensional wavelet domain. Feature extraction selects feature points using 2-level wavelet transform in interested region. Feature tracking estimates displacement between current frame and next frame based on feature point which is selected feature extraction algorithm. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm confirmed a better performance than the existing other algorithms.

  • A real-time frame-layer rate control algorithm with a token bucket traffic shaper is proposed for distortion variation minimization. The proposed rate control method uses a non-iterative optimization method for low computational complexity, and performs bit allocation at the frame level to minimize the average distortion over an entire sequence as well as variations in distortion between frames. The proposed algorithm does not produce time delay from encoding, and is suitable for real-time low-complexity video encoder. Experimental results indicate that the proposed control method provides better visual and PSNR performances than the existing rate control method.

  • In this study, the experimental study on Insulation performance of insulated forms utilizing NT frame heat insulation at low Temperature. For this study, placing insulated TEGO film plywood based form between two constant temperature and humidity chamber that maintaining 10℃, decrease temperature of one chamber to -10℃ and -20℃. Each of steps, maintaining period of temperature was 1 hour. After placing the insulated form, measure temperature of outside if insulated form. As a result of experiment, temperature difference of Fumed Silica Vacuum insulation was lowest.

  • Recently, many examples of practical applications of the motors with reluctance torque, such as IPMSM, RM, etc. are reported. However, the problems of the torque ripple produced by the IPMSM, are also presented. The main reasons of the torque ripple generation are the structural imperfectness of the IPMSM and its control system, such as the cogging torque of the motor, the dead time of inverter, sensors offset, imbalance and non-linearity, and so on. In this paper, authors propose a suppression control method of the torque ripple for IPMSM utilizing the repetitive control with the Fourier transformer and a vibration signal detected by an acceleration sensor attached to the motor frame, considering periodicity of the motor torque ripple. An experimental system to simulate the compliant mechanical frame is constructed, and the effectiveness of the proposed method is confirmed by experimental results.

  • Nowadays, the pushover analysis technique is becoming a very useful tool for the prediction of inelastic behavior of structures in the seismic evaluation of existing buildings in the worldwide. However, the reliability of this analysis method has not been fully checked by the test results. The objective of this study is to verify the correlation between the experimental and analytical response of a high-rise nonseismic reinforced concrete frame using DRAIN-2DX program and the test results performed previously. This study concludes that the overall responses such as story-shear versus story-drift can be predicted with quite high reliability while the local deformations such as plastic rotations in the ends of critical members can not be described reasonably.
