배우자 사별노인의 자기효능감, 사회적 지지 및 심리적 적음에 관한 연구 (A Study on Self-Efficacy, Perceived Social Support and the Psychological Adjustment in the Bereaved Old People)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine to the effect of self-efficacy and perceived social support on adjustment in terms of depression. The subject was composed of 174 bereaved older adults in the first 10 years of their spousal bereavement. The major results of findings were as fellowing: 1. Bereaved old persons experienced emotional loneliness(35.8%) as the most stressful life event. 2. Bereaved old persons perceived higher self-efficacy and social support showed lower level of depression than those who perceived lower self-efficacy and social support. 3. The factor to have influence on the depression of bereaved old persons most relatively was appeared as self-efficacy.

아동학대 유형별 우울성향, 자기효능감, 학업성취간의 관계 (Structural Relationships among Types of Child Abuse, Depressive Tendencies, Self-Efficacy, and Academic Achievement)

  • Data from the Seoul Panel Study of Children were analyzed for structural relationshipsamong types of child abuse, depressive tendencies, self-efficacy, and academic achievement. Subjects consisted of 1,785 fourth-grade elementary school children in 2004. Structural equation modeling was employed for statistical analyses. The results were that emotional abuse was indirectly related to academic achievement via depressive tendencies and self-efficacy; children who experienced emotional abuse were more likely to have higher depressive tendencies and lower self-efficacy, which in turn, resulted in lower academic achievement. Neglect was directly related to low academic achievement. In contrast, physical abuse had no relationship with these factors. Implications for practice from this study were discussed.

예비유아교사의 영어 전공수업 경험에 관한 연구 (Study on the Experiences of Preservice Teacher in Early Childhood Education on Learning Content in English)

  • This study explored what Korean college students, especially preservice teacher in early childhood education, experienced and how they constructed the meanings of experiences about their subject- matter course (early childhood mathematics education) taught in English. One cohort- 20 senior students- majoring in early childhood education in a 4-year university was participated in this study. Using action research method and narrative research method, data were analyzed. The findings were as follows: 1) preservice teacher experienced some difficulties to construrct professional knowledge through English. 2) They challenged to overcome these difficulties through active participation. 3) They got supports from instructor and peer group. 4) They accomplished the course with self-satisfaction. 5) They experienced the conflicts between social requirements and personal needs.

만성질환으로 입원한 노인 환자의 우울, 자아존중감 및 일상생활수행능력(ADL)간 관계연구 (The Relationship among Depression, Self-esteem and ADL in the Case of the Hospitalized Elderly Patients with Chronic Disease)

  • Purpose: This study has aimed to examine the relationship among self-esteem, Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and depression reported by hospitalized elderly patients with chronic diseases. Methods: A descriptive correlation study by means of a self-report questionnaire or face-to-face interview was used to collect data from 119 elderly patients who were hospitalized in a General Hospital from January 5 to February 25, 2010. Their levels of depression was measured using Short-Form Geriatric Depression Scale, self esteem using Jeon's, and activities of daily living using K-ADL. Results: 80.7% of the subjects experienced depression. Depression correlates with self-esteem (r=-.67) and ADL (r=.45). The influencing factors on depression were self-esteem, ADL, subjective health status, and family support satisfaction ($R^2=.57$), while self esteem in itself explained 45% of variance in depression. Conclusion: These findings indicate the importance of early detection of depression, which starts from the admission of patients and the continuing evaluation/management in daily life after discharge to ensure their well-being and quality of life. The development of program empowering self esteem, ADL and subjective health status with adequate family support during hospitalization and in daily life is indispensible.

e-Learning에서의 학습환경과 학습자 자기효능감이 학습 유효성에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Learning Environment and Learners' Self-Efficacy on the Effectiveness in e-Learning)

  • e-Learning can be seen as not only one of Internet-based information technologies which can provide education services but also one of teaching-learning methods which can implement self-directed learning. Thus, for evaluation of e-Learning effectiveness, both information-technology-based learning environment and learners' abilities in self-learning and computer-using should be considered simultaneously. This study suggests a research model for evaluating the effectiveness of e-Learning, which is theoretically based on information systems success model, constructivism and self-efficacy. The model is composed of three parts: effectiveness, learning environment, and learners' self-efficacy. Effectiveness is a part of dependent variables: satisfaction and academic performance. Learning environment and learners' self-efficacy can be considered as two sets of explanation variables for effectiveness. The former consists of learning management system, learning contents, and interactions that are provided bye-Learning and the latter means learners' self-regulated efficacy and computer self-efficacy. We show validity of the model empirically by surveying the college students who have experienced e-Learning. In result, most of all hypotheses suggested in this model are accepted in low significant level.

어머니의 인구사회학적 특성과 양육스트레스가 자녀의 자아개념에 미치는 영향 : 양육 태도의 매개적 역할을 고려하여 (Effects of Maternal Sociodemographic Characteristics and Parenting Stress on a Child's Self-Concept: Parenting Style as a Mediating Factor)

  • Objectives : The aim of this study was to examine the effects of maternal sociodemographic characteristics, especially education and employment, and parenting stress on the child's self-concept. Attention was also paid to the mediating impact of parenting style on the relationship between the maternal variables and a child's self-concept. Methods : A questionnaire and three scales were completed by fifth graders and their mothers, and 270 sets of paired data were analyzed. Results : The results showed that mothers with higher education experienced less child-related parenting stress, were perceived to be more achievement-oriented and rational by their children, and also had children with more positive self-concept. The relationship between maternal education and child's self-concept was mediated by the rationality dimension of parenting style. Maternal employment was not related to parenting stress, parenting style and most aspects of the child's self-concept. Lastly, child-related parenting stress had a negative effect on the child's self-concept, and this effect was mediated by the warmth and rationality dimensions of parenting style. Conclusion : Parenting style had a mediating effect on the relationships between the child's self-concept and maternal education and child-related parenting stress.

대학생의 자아분화, 자아존중감과 정신건강간의 관계 - 우울, 불안을 중심으로 (A Study on Relationships among University Students' Self-differentiation, Self-esteem and Mental Health : Focused on Depression and Anxiety)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine relationships among university students' self-differentiation, self-esteem and mental health. The subjects were 400 students of four universities in Busan and Gyungnam area. A questionnaire survey was done. The results of this study are as follows : First, the levels of university students' self-differentiation and self-esteem were high. Second, university students' self-differentiation and self-esteem were correlated positively. Third, the levels of university students' depression and anxiety were relatively low. It showed that the subjects' mental health of this study were not bad. Fourth, depression had no significant difference by gender. However, female students had higher anxiety than male students had. Fifth, university students' self-differentiation and self-esteem had negative correlation with depression and anxiety, and self-esteem played a role of mediating variable between self-differentiation and mental health. Sixth, family projection, family regression and self integration of self-differentiation had indirect influence upon the students' mental health through self-esteem, while cognitive-emotional function had direct influence upon mental health and had indirect influence upon mental health through self-esteem as well. In this study, university students' self-differentiation and self-esteem were found to be important variables having influence upon mental health, and self-differentiation had indirect influence upon mental health through self-esteem. Counselling intervention strategies should be established considering self-differentiation and self-esteem of the students who complained about their maladjusted emotion and human relation problems at schools. Also, programs enhancing self-differentiation and self-esteem of university students should be developed and the execution of these programs will be needed to help the university students who experienced mental health problems such as depression, anxiety and so on.

청소년 소비자의 자아개념과 유해업소 출입에 대한 평가 및 경험 (The Self Concept of Adolescent Consumers and the Evaluation and Experience of Adolescent Entry into Harmful Place)

  • This study examined the subcategories of the self concept of adolescent consumers, and investigated the influence of this self concept and the demographic characteristics on the evaluation and experience of adolescent entry into harmful places. The adolescent group was divided into 4 subgroups: (group I with negative evaluation and without entry experience, group II with negative evaluation but with experience;, group III with positive evaluation but without experience, and group IV with positive evaluation and with experience). The differences of demographic characteristic and self concept between these. subgroups were inspected. The results of this study were as follows. First, the self concept of the adolescent consumer consists of body self, social self, achievement self, scholarship self and family self. Among these self concepts, scholarship self was the highest, and family self was the lowest. Second, from the result of regression analysis using the demographic element as an independent variable to inspect the factors influencing self concept, sex, school year, living with parents, and economic status were statistically significant. Third, in case of entry evaluation, singing room was evaluated most positively among 10 places with a score of 4.20 and pub/drunkenness was evaluated most negatively. In case of entry experience, singing room was the most frequently experienced place and discotheque was the least. Fourth, with respect to demographic characteristics and influences of self concept, the influencing factors on entry evaluation were sex, school year, social self, and family self, and the influencing factors on entry experience were sex, school year, living with parents, social self, and family self. Finally, examination of the differences of demographic characteristics and self concept according to entry evaluation and experience, revealed the distinctive variables among the 10 harmful places to be sex, school year, living with parents, body self, social self, achievement self, scholarship self, and family self.

나는 왜 그렇게 대처하였는가?: 초등 과학실험 수업 중 발생한 불일치 상황에서의 교사의 대처 (Why did I Cope with so?: A Teacher's Strategy to Cope with Anomalous Situations in Primary Practical Science Lessons)

  • This study explores how a teacher copes with anomalous situation in primary practical science lesson and what factors affect teacher's strategy to cope with anomalous situations. The method of auto-ethnography was used in order to capture the inner experience of the individual teacher. For this, one of the researchers participated in this study as the teacher participant. Two science lessons that the researcher taught as a teacher were observed by a co-author and video-recorded. However, only one lesson which the teacher experienced the anomalous situation was analyzed. After the lesson, self-interviews were conducted with the co-author. Also the researcher wrote four reflective journals about anomalous situations that she experienced. What has emerged in this study is that anomalous situations were experienced by the teacher while students were doing practical work and while students were presenting their results of practical work. As each anomalous situation was experienced in different contexts, the strategies that the teacher used were different and were affected not only by the personal epistemological belief but also by the socio-cultural context that the teacher was surrounded by. This study has implications to help teachers who have difficulties in coping with anomalous situations.

간호사의 직장 내 괴롭힘 경험에 따른 조직문화, 조직몰입의 비교 (Comparison of Organizational Culture and Organizational Commitment based on Experience of Workplace Bullying in Clinical Nurses)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the relationship among nurses' workplace bullying experience, organizational culture, and organizational commitment. Methods: Nurses who had worked for more than 6 months (N=299) were selected from 5 general hospitals. Data were collected from August to September 2014, using a self- reported questionnaire, and were analyzed using SPSS version 20.0. Results: Among the participants, 17.7% reported having experienced workplace bullying. Those who had experienced workplace bullying reported significantly lower relation-oriented culture, innovation-oriented culture, and organizational commitment as compared to the other group (t=-2.50, p=.016; t=-2.60, p=.011; t=-2.91, p=.004, respectively). Rank-oriented culture was higher in those who had experienced workplace bullying as compared to those who had not (t=2.76, p=.007). Conclusion: Those who had experienced workplace bullying had higher scores on rank-oriented culture and lower scores on innovation-oriented culture, relation-oriented culture, and organizational commitment. To reduce workplace bullying among nurses, hospital managers should improve the relation-oriented organizational culture and alleviate the rank-oriented culture.
