The program of the education was devided eight sections and each section had it's own individual teacher. The member of each group was consisted of about twenty-five nurses. The questionnaire was developed by researchers and was applied two times just at the preeducation and two weeks after the education. The criteria of the developed questionnaire was consisted of two aspects, one was recognizant aspect of service and the other was behavioral aspect of service. The reliability of the questionnaire was Chronbach's $\alpha$=0.778. The questionnaire was exammed collected in the morning when the education of the service was started and two weeks after the education. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, paired T-test, Pearson's correlations. The result of the study are as follows : 1. There was a significant difference in the aspect of recognition of service between pre and post self-evaluation. 2. There was no significant difference in the aspect of behavior service between pre and post self-evaluation. 3. There was a significant difference in the aspect of total sense, score between pre & post self-evaluation. 4. There was a significant correlation between clinical experience and aspect of recognition of service. The positive correlation was shown in the longer clinical experience between nurse's role and service. But there was not a statistically significant correlation between clinical experience and aspect of behavior of service. The service sector is growing and service is complicated with various customer needs in the competitive markets. Bill Hollins urges that services must be designed. I believe that service experiences must be designed with servicescape as an environment surrounding services. Servicescape is the physical and social environments of service. Service experiences do not depend only on the aesthetic impression of physical servicescape. One of the main characteristics of services is that the most value of services are accomplished from interaction between customer and service encounters. The design of physical servicescape affects the interaction between customer and service encounters and the behavior of both customer and service suppliers' including social factors such as display emotions and the interpersonal distance between customers. Servicescape design should control tangible and intangible area of service events. In addition servicescape design creates customer's good experiences in the servicescape. This research proposes the possibilities and proper design process of servicescape design. Servicescape Design should control the activities including interrelations of participants, efficient service delivery process, and the united images of services for creating the satisfied service experience values.
Purpose: 'The purpose of the present study was to understand students' experiences from their standpoint, to identify relevant variables and to examine into their relations by analyzing and describing what phenomenon 'nursing students' visiting ambulatory bathing service' is, what are the reasons for the phenomenon, and what interactions are in the phenomenon. Method: The subjects were thirteen students. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed by Strauss and Corbin's analysis method. Result: With regard to ambulatory bathing service, participants responded 'lack of education', 'inexperienced personal relations' and 'disappointment with recipients families'. They recognized 'burden' and 'compassion'. The intensity of generated 'burden' and 'compassion' was determined by volunteering persons, the degree of health care service, recipients' response and interaction of climate. When 'burden' and 'compassion' were generated, participants selected their own coping strategies. Strategies in the situation of 'burden' and 'compassion' were significantly influenced by 'burden' and 'compassion' and structural situation - 'mutual relation structure,' 'volunteers' capability,' 'the degree of volunteering guidance,' 'community participation,' 'recipients' environment,' 'information sharing,' 'special vehicle equipment' and 'economical burden.' Strategies include' service training,' 'receiving volunteering training,' 'preliminary service preparation,' 'volunteering.' 'connection to local medical center,' 'intention,' 'information sharing,' 'passive response to recipients' appreciation' and 'the understanding of publicity'. The results of selected 'burden' and 'compassion' are described with 'worthiness' and 'cohesion' as follows. Conclusion: This study is significantly meaningful in that it examined bathing service welfare in its initial stage. There are not much outcome from previous studies. However. it is meaningful that this study intended to develop theories on the nature of experiences and the relations among concepts derived from the visiting ambulatory bathing service process of nursing students. Professors who taught social volunteering in universities understood the experience of nursing students who did the visiting ambulatory bathing service. Consequently, professors will provide an effective instruction to enable these students to carry out visiting ambulatory bathing services efficiently in order to meet demands when they conduct the services. For the volunteering service activity in major-related fields among college students' social volunteering activities, they recognized the necessity of systematic education and preparation.
Managing waiting experience is critical for providing service because waiting is an inevitable experience. We explored the factors which influence the waiting experience of the customers and the experience they face, in order to find out the meaning of waiting experience of the customer. As a result, we investigated a holistic sequence divided into four stages. When the customers wait for the service, perceived time would be increased by Zeigarnik effect. How long the customers feel when waiting is largely affected by a gap between waiting time and the perceived time, rather than the perceived time itself. Furthermore, the customers showed a tendency to have hard time immersing in the media due to considering others. Additionally, we could find that waiting time after giving an order is relatively more important than the waiting time before the order. Based on the results, the service provider should convey a feeling of completion by fitting the end point of the media to the point when the customer receives the service. In addition, high predictability needs to be offered for the customers in order to predict the exact waiting time. Finally, the customers should feel as if they take the initiative during waiting time.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the Hawthorne effect on healthcare service process innovation, by investing the difference between checklist items of patients and doctors on direct clinical observations (DCO) and the retrospective clinical review (RCR). Methods: The data set consisted of 30 patients and 30 doctors respondents. T-tests were used to perform a comparative analysis of DCO and RCR items between patients and doctors by pre and post examinations. Results: The results indicate that there was a difference between the non-prior notice checklist items of the patients and doctors, while there was no difference of the post-examination checklist items between the patients and doctors. Conclusion: This study provides useful information and can be applied to the improvement of patient experience through healthcare service process innovation. The results of this study also offer practical insights about how hospitals can motivate providers to participate in healthcare service process for improved quality care by the Hawthorne effect. The study contributes to the existing knowledge of the Hawthorne effect for effective strategies for providing quality care.
