Purpose: Competency is a key foundation of the nursing education curriculum and a baseline element of nursing practice. The purpose of this study was to explore the competencies of community health nurses in a maternal early childhood sustained home-visiting program based on nurses' field experiences. Methods: The participants were 21 nurses who had more than 1 year of experience in this program. Reflective interviews were performed; lasting 1 hour per nurse, on August 18, 2016, and the collected data were analyzed using qualitative directed content analysis. Results: Twenty-four themes were extracted for 9 competencies. The major themes included implementing a long-term relationship-based approach, providing client-led service rather than expert-led service, helping mothers with psychosocial difficulties, and applying skills in a practical manner in the home environment. Conclusion: In order to develop a home-visiting program as part of maternal-early childhood nursing practice, nurses should develop competencies that help them make significant and positive interventions. Results indicate that the curriculum for community health nurses should be changed to improve competencies in building relationships with clients and to focus on the application of skills in specific cases and in clinical practice.

This study was conducted to identify the effects of interpersonal communication between health care providers after receiving supplementary education. The participants of this study were 433 health care providers who work at 29 general hospitals in Gwangju Metropolitan City and Jeollanamdo Province. Data were collected from June 8 to June 25, 2018 and evaluated by t-tests, dispersion analysis, correlation analysis and stepwise regression. The results were produced by investigating interpersonal communications according to socio-demographic and health-related characteristics including age, education level, bed size of the hospital at which the participant worked, job satisfaction, hospital location, personal health status, experience with health care management and experience with depression. There were significant differences in communication observed according to supplemental education awareness regarding age, bed size of hospital, occupation, wage, type of medical institution of employment, job satisfaction, work location, health status, health care education experience and chronic disease. There were positive correlations between supplemental education awareness in health workers and their interpersonal communication. The factors that had positive effects on interpersonal communication were level of education and health-related education experience, while age, hospital bed size and job dissatisfaction had negative effects. Finally, support environment, learning transfer and results were identified as sub-factors of supplemental education. Based on the results above, it was proposed that educational training to enhance results, provide a supportive environment and foster learning transfer be developed to increase communication between health workers and provide a safe health service for patients.
Korean culinary culture is traditionally studied through the analysis of foods ingested. However, this study attempts to dialectically reinterpret Korean culinary culture through its relationship to Korean literature. In our study we consider culinary culture prior to the development of scientific techniques and economic growth related to food as "dietary lifestyle of the innocent world" and time since then as "the dietary lifestyle of the experience world". The former represents a simple means of survival without food processing (the "slow food" world), while the latter represents the "fast food" or processed food culture as a modern concept. People living in the age of economic growth and overflowing individualism have lacked an organic life and an opportunity to commune with nature. As a result, they have returned to values of the past, seeking the "slow food" culture to benefit their individual health. A series of return processes, however, were transformed into "the dietary life style of the higher innocence," called "a well-being dietary life style" involving a new healthy conception passing through the dietary life style of the experience world. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate the dietary lifestyles of the "innocent" world and the "experience" world based on dialectic concepts. Individual concepts of "thesis" and "antithesis" are applied, as well as the developmental concept of "synthesis" for the way both symbolic worlds changed to "the dietary lifestyle of the higher innocence" and formed complementary relationships to each other.

We conducted this study to identify the components of H&B store app service quality and their effect on customer satisfaction. The survey was conducted through an online survey for teenagers or older with experience in using H&B store app. A total of 330 copies were distributed and a total of 282 copies were used for the final analysis. The results of this study are summarized as follows: First, eight factors such as ease of use & design, fulfillment, playfulness, responsiveness, personalization, security, contextual usefulness, interactivity were derived as service quality components of H&B store app. Second, as a result of regression analysis, the six service quality components, such as 'ease of use & design', 'fulfillment', 'playfulness', 'responsiveness', 'security', and 'interactivity' were found to have a significant positive (+) effect on customer satisfaction (p<0.05) and 'playfulness (β=.372)' had the greatest effect on customer satisfaction. Based on the results of this study, we should strive to establish effective marketing strategies in the H&B industry.
Information about the characteristics of street-living versus shelter-residing youth is vital for tailoring prevention and intervention efforts to the unique needs of runaway and homeless youth. The present study compared two samples of youth [street-living (n=73) versus shelter-residing (n=205)], between the ages of 14 to 17 years, on behavioral and emotional factors and service use. Based on the different characteristics of the two groups, the predictors explaining the living status of the runaways and homeless youth were explored. In general, street-living youth reported more severe substance use, depressive symptoms, and risky sexual behavior, but less lifetime service involvement compared to shelter-residing youth. The factors that predicted shelter-residing status were related to younger age, prior service care experience, more knowledge about HIV, and engaging in less delinquent and risky behavior. Given the little overlap among youth in service involvement and the greater severity faced by street-living youth, the conclusions highlight the need for increased funding and attention towards facilitating the ability of street-living youth to find and enter mental health and reintegration services.

Background: Insufficient training in infection control and occupational health among healthcare workers (HCWs) in countries with high human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and tuberculosis (TB) burdens requires attention. We examined the effectiveness of a 1-year Certificate Program in Occupational Health and Infection Control conducted in Free State Province, South Africa in an international partnership to empower HCWs to become change agents to promote workplace-based HIV and TB prevention. Methods: Questionnaires assessing reactions to the program and Knowledge, Attitudes, Skills, and Practices were collected pre-, mid-, and postprogram. Individual interviews, group project evaluations, and participant observation were also conducted. Quantitative data were analyzed using Wilcoxon signed-rank test. Qualitative data were thematically coded and analyzed using the Kirkpatrick framework. Results: Participants recruited (n = 32) were mostly female (81%) and nurses (56%). Pre-to-post-program mean scores improved in knowledge (+12%, p = 0.002) and skills/practices (+14%, p = 0.002). Preprogram attitude scores were high but did not change. Participants felt empowered and demonstrated attitudinal improvements regarding HIV, TB, infection control, and occupational health. Successful projects were indeed implemented. However, participants encountered considerable difficulties in trying to sustain improvement, due largely to lack of pre-existing knowledge and experience, combined with inadequate staffing and insufficient management support. Conclusion: Training is essential to strengthen HCWs' occupational health and infection control knowledge, attitudes, skills, and practices, and workplace-based training programs such as this can yield impressive results. However, the considerable mentorship resources required for such programs and the substantial infrastructural supports needed for implementation and sustainability of improvements in settings without pre-existing experience in such endeavors should not be underestimated.

Dental health care in modern society has gradually been developing with patients'expectation, desire, and medical knowledge according to the changes in the medical industry. Dental marketing strategy is necessary to construct a better dental health environment in order to cope with customers' changes and desire. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the positive comments by word-of-mouth experience, quality of dental clinic service and customer satisfaction among dental patients. The study surveyed 5oo subjects being treated at 6 dental clinics in Seoul and Gyeonggi province. It was conducted from March 22 to April 9, 2010. The subject groups with a positive experience through word - of - mouth who had a perception about the quality of dental clinic service (p<.001) and customer satisfaction (p<.001) were higher than other groups who had no comments on their dental treatment and clinics. The results showed that there was a correlation(r=. 852, p<.001) between the positive comments by word-of- mouthabout the quality of dental clinics service and customer satisfaction. The perception of dental clinic service and patients' satisfaction with positive comments by word of mouth was highly recognized by older and more experienced patients of dental treatment. Therefore, the results suggest that empirical information on important factors about strategic marketing lead to positive comments by word of mouth experience for patients in dental clinics.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of a lifestyle consisting of a health oriented diet and personal motivation toward health improvement on an individual's desire to participate in condolence or "healing" -workshops and programs. In order to examine the influence of the "health diet" and motivation, the "health diet" lifestyle was classified into nutrition pursuit factors, psychological factors, food safety factors, and health conscious consumption factors. Personal motivation was categorized into perceived benefits, environmental factors and the individual's desire for happiness. Empirical analysis showed that nutrition pursuit factors had an impact on perceived benefits and the desire for happiness. Psychological aspect factors had a significant influence on perceived benefits, environmental factors and the desire for happiness. However, food safety factors and health conscious consumption factors did not have an effect on individual motivation to improve health. Regarding personal motivation toward health improvement on the desire for "healing", perceived benefits and environmental factors had significant influence. However, the individual's desire for happiness did not influence the demand for "healing". Regarding the effect of a "health diet" on the desire for "healing", only the psychological aspects of a "health diet" had any significant effects on the desire for "healing". The results from this study can help local organizations or service companies that provide "healing" programs with developing effective marketing strategies that could lead to greater customer satisfaction. Especially, the significant influence of psychological aspects of a "health diet" on the demand for "healing" is noteworthy in that this could play a key role in establishing a more effective marketing strategy to attract increasing numbers of consumers using health conscious diets.
The purpose of this study is to find factors which induce a purchase experience of natural seasonings. The findings and implications of the research can be summarized as follows. First, there is a significant difference in purchase experience of natural seasonings based on gender, a academic background, dining out frequency, and amount of food consumption. Second, knowledge of safety regulations on MSG has a negative effect on purchase experience of natural seasonings. Third, the results shows a positive effect of attitude to food safety on purchase experience of natural seasonings. Fourth, food-explore or health-oriented types regarding food-related lifestyle has positive effects on purchase experience of natural seasonings. These results will contribute by helping the food and restaurant industry develop efficient marketing strategies.

According to the rapid population aging and the increase of the number of people with chronic diseases, the digital healthcare services are getting more and more attention. Recent improvement in information technology has expanded the consumers of digital healthcare service from the patients to the general population. Therefore, there is a growing need for studies on the status and needs of digital healthcare users in general. This study conducted a survey of 1,000 people on their perception and attitude about four areas of digital healthcare: internet health information service, smartphone healthcare application, wearable device, and u-health. The questionnaire asked the respondents about their past experience of using digital healthcare services, the purpose of use and point to be improved. The respondents were also asked about new type and contents of digital healthcare service which they would like to use. The survey results will help developers of digital healthcare service by improving their understanding and identifying unmet needs from the general population.
