  • This study aims to explore the variable factors by which fathers affect nursing practices. for this study 544 married couples were interviewed, which resulted in the following conclusions. First, wives have higher fairness than husbands in sharing their parental roles. Second, in some couples, there was a difference seen in the expectations of each parents nursing capability, but rarely were differences in real nursing practices actually observed. Third, all couples interviewed showed some disparity between their expectations of parental nursing capability and their real nursing practices, where the expectations for nursing capability were higher than the real nursing practices. Fourth, higher expectations for nursing capabilities from fathers result in them having better parental roles. Fifth, there is no correlation between parental nursing practices and social demographic variables. Lastly, the impacts on the parental nursing practices are ranked by relative importance as parental nursing capability, the wife's expectation for parental nursing capability and so on.

중소 종합병원 입원환자와 간호사의 간호서비스에 대한 기대와 지각, 질 평가와 만족도 차이 (The Differences in Quality Perceptions, Expectations, Evaluation, and Satisfaction for Nursing Service between Patients and Nurses: Small-medium Sized General Hospitals)

  • Purpose: This study was performed to give direction to quality improvement strategies of nursing services by comparing the differences in quality perceptions and satisfaction for nursing services between patients and nurses in small-medium sized general hospitals with 200 beds. Method: The subjects, who were 150 inpatients and 162 nurses of 4 general hospitals in a community, answered a self-report questionnaire with a SERVQUAL scale. Result: There were differences between patients' and nurses' expectations and perceptions of nursing service and satisfaction. In the service expectation, the highest factor was 'the responsiveness', and in the perceived performance, the highest was the 'assurance'. In addition, overall patients' perceptions on nursing services showed higher than nurses'. There were positive correlations among the expectations and perceptions on nursing service, and satisfaction. The correlation between perception and satisfaction was higher than the correlation between expectations and satisfaction. Conclusion: To improve the nursing service quality at small-medium hospitals, strengthening the 'assurance' factor and improving the nursing service support system is needed. Also, this study on nurses' perceived nursing service at small-medium sized hospitals should be duplicated.

중년 및 노년기 여성의 한국어판 노화에 대한 기대수준 측정도구(ERA)의 타당도와 신뢰도 검증 (Testing the Validity and Reliability of Korean Version of the Expectations Regarding Aging (ERA-12) Instrument among Middle-aged and Elderly Women)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop and test the validity and reliability of the Korean version of the expectations regarding aging(ERA-12) among middle-aged and elderly women. Methods: The study was conducted as a cross-sectional survey which used a self-report questionnaire. A convenience sampling method was utilized, and data on 298 middle-aged and elderly women were collected. Korean version of ERA-12 was articulated through forward-backward translation methods. Internal consistency reliability, construct and criterion validity were analyzed using PASW WIN (20.0) for testing the use of Korean version of ERA-12. Results: ERA-12 consisted of three factors - expectations regarding physical health, mental health and cognitive function, explaining 56.0% of the total variance in ERA-12. The ERA-12 total score showed positive correlation with RSES (r=.33). The Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficient was .81 for the overall instrument and .68-.73 for three factors. Conclusion: Korean version of ERA-12 has high validity and reliability. Therefore, this instrument may be utilized to assess expectations regarding aging for Korean middle-aged and elderly women.

문화적응 유형화를 중심으로한 국제결혼이주여성의 부부갈등과 가족상담자의 문화적 역량에 대한 기대 (Marital Conflicts and Expectations to Family Counselors' Cultural Competence Among Immigrated Women Focusing on Typology of Cultural Adaptation)

  • The aim of this study was to investigate on characteristics of sociological and demographic population, marital conflicts and expectations to family counselors' cultural competence surrounding factors of cultural adaptation among immigrated women. This study conducted a survey of 236 immigrated women in Kyonggi province, Seoul metropolitan cities, Cholla and Chunchung provinces and Incheon. The results of this study are as follows: First, a relatively few marital conflicts were found, as a whole, while they had the high levels of expectation to family counselors' cultural competence. Second, immigrated women can be clustered as three different types: 'multiplicity type', 'undifferentiated type' and 'adaptation type'. Third, sociological and demographic population characteristics which were subdivided and clustered according to cultural adaptation made the significant difference between each population. Population with multiplicity type out of the above-stated three types accounted for the highest conflict rates, while population with 'adaptation' type accounted for the lowest conflict rates. Lastly, expectations to family counselors' cultural competence made the significant difference among each population. Population with multiplicity type showed the highest expectation levels on expectations to family counselors' cultural competence, while population with undifferentiated type showed the lowest levels.

Customer Satisfaction from Open Source Software Services in the Presence of Commercially Licensed Software

  • The limited literature on Open Source Software (OSS) customers' adoption does not provide explanations on how OSS services are adopted by customers in the presence of functionally superior commercially licensed software (CLS). This paper aims to uncover the process that shapes customer satisfaction of OSS services in comparison to CLS. Expectation Disconfirmation Theory (EDT) is adapted and integrated with pre implementation factor model that influences software customers' expectations including cost, reputation, and experience. The constructed research model is empirically validated using a field survey of OSS and CLS database management system (DBMS) customers in Korea. The theoretical contribution of the paper lies on the application of EDT to explain the wide adoption of OSS DBMS services in the presence of functionally superior CLS DBMSs. Furthermore, this paper integrates EDT with pre-implementation factors for customers' expectations, which has been considered a limitation of the theory. Among the practical contributions, this study draws attention to the substantive differences between OSS and CLS customers' expectations. Additionally, it offers initial explanations for the differences in customer behavior for OSS and CLS and the way that customers' expectations and actual performance are mingled together to form customer satisfaction.

소비자 심리지수를 통한 소비자 예측이 광고비에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Consumer Expectation Measured by Consumers on Advertising Expenditures)

  • 본 연구에서는 소비자의 예측이 경영자의 의사 결정에 영향을 미치는지를 고찰하였다. 구체적으로 본 연구에서는 소비자들의 금융상황과 가계소득의 변화에 관한 예측이 경영자들의 광고비 지출과 양의 상관관계를 가지는지를 검증하였다. 1991년부터 2011년까지의 기간 동안, 미국 소비자들의 예측 관련 설문과 6,018개 미국 기업들의 매출액 대비 광고비를 분석한 결과, 본 연구의 가설이 지지되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 기존 연구에서 다루어지지 않은 소비자의 심리적 요인이 경영자의 의사결정에 영향을 미치는 요인임을 밝혀냈으며, 또한 광고 운영자들에게도 실무적 시사점을 제공하였다는 데에 의의가 있다.

중년여성이 행복한 삶을 위해 배우자에게 기대하는 행동유형에 관한 연구 (Expectations of Middle aged Women for a life of Happiness to the Spouse)

  • Purpose: This study was to define and analyze the expectations of middle-aged woman to their spouse. Methods: A sample of 39 middle-aged women was recruited from the workplace, religious organization and acquaintances. The survey was conducted with participants using self-reported questionnaire. The data were analyzed using Q methodology. Results: There were four different types of expectations of middle-aged women. First type was "Collaborative and self-development type," meaning that women developed self and were collaborated with their family or spouses. The second type was "Maintain their own life" meaning that women recognized and maintained their expertise without interference from their spouses. The third one was "Respect for the inner value" meaning that women gave continued respect and understanding their inner value. The last one was "Realistic acceptance" meaning that women kept the current situation without implementing new self-development type. Conclusion: There is a subjective structure within the types of expectations of middle-aged women for a life of happiness to the spouse.

  • 이 논문에서는 알폰소 쿠아론 감독의 <위대한 유산>을 찰스 디킨스의 원작과 데이비드 린 감독의 같은 원작을 영화한 작품과의 비교 속에서 분석하였다. 고전 소설을 영화한 작품을 평가하는데 있어서 고려되어야 할 점은 원작에 대한 충실도 외에 문학과 영화 형식의 차이점, 당대 관객들의 기호, 그리고 감독 자신의 해석이 고려되어야한다. 이러한 기준으로 볼 때 데이비드 린은 원작에 충실하면서 미장센을 통해서 자신의 해석을 훌륭하게 표현하였고 알폰소 쿠아론은 원작을 할리우드 고전적 문법아래 과감하게 변형한 후 현대적인 영화 형식을 구가함으로써 완성도 있고 대중 친화적인 작품을 만드는데 성공하였다.

서비스품질지수를 고려한 품질기능전개를 통한 철도 서비스 품질 개선에 관한 연구 (A Study on Railway Services Improvement Using Quality Function Development Incorporating SERVPERF)

  • Purpose: This study was to identify customers' demands in railway services system and then to seek the way to satisfy the customer expectations. Methods: We suggest a Quality Function Deployment(QFD)-based approach comprised of three stages. In first stage, SERVPERF survey was carried out to assess current positions of customer expectations in the market. Then, factor analysis was incorporated into SERVPERF to classify customer expectations for the house of quality. In the second stage, the analytic network process was used to prioritize the importance of the customer attributes. Finally, QFD was performed utilizing customer attributes and their weights. Results: The QFD identified the most important customer expectations as: accident prevention, swift reaction to accident, on-time arrivals and departures of the train. It also shows that driving capability, equipment for safety, and training for disaster are the most critical technical requirements. Conclusion: The results are useful for identifying the customers' demands in railway services systems, and they can contribute to the service quality and customer satisfaction.

개인변인, 심리변인, 직업관련변인이 은퇴기대에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Individual, Psychological, and Job-related Variables on Retirement Expectations)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the variables on employees' retirement expectations divided into imposed frustration, new beginning, transition to rest, and continuing. Independent variables were individual(gender, age, occupation, income, education, and health condition), psychological(self-esteem, locus of control, attitude of leisure, and attitude of family), and job-related variables(job attitude, job satisfaction, and job stability). In order to achieve this purpose, a survey was conducted with 515 employees from Daegu and Kyungpook. Retirement expectations were measured with questionnaire based on several studies. The data analyzed by frequency, percentage, mean, factor analysis, Cronbach's $\alpha$, correlation, and multiple regression. The major findings were as follows. First, imposed frustration was affected by income, self-esteem, locus of control, job satisfaction, job attitude, and job stability. Second, new beginning was affected by self-esteem, locus of control, attitude toward leisure and family, and job stability. Individual variables were not statistically significant predictors of new beginning. Third, transition to rest was affected by locus of control, attitude toward family, job satisfaction, job attitude, and job stability. Individual variables were not statistically significant predictors of transition to rest. Finally, continuing was affected by age, education, job satisfaction. Psychological variables were not statistically significant predictors of continuing.
