원형단면 노즐의 급확대 축소부를 통한 유동손실에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Flow Loss for Sudden Expansion and Contraction Part of Circular Pipe Nozzle)

  • To obtain an exact flow loss in piping systems is very important in the face of efficiency anticipation and work control of plant. The object of this study is to get the flow loss through the experiment for sudden expansion and contraction part of circular pipe nozzle. The experiment in this study is performed after getting the flow loss factor for sudden expansion and contraction through preliminary experiments. It is confirmed that the results of this study agreed with the approximated equation of Ikeda and Matsuo. It is proved that flow loss factor ${\zeta}_3$for sudden expansion and contraction part of circular pipe is dependent on $L/D_1$in these experimental conditions.

급속한 도시확장지역의 토지이용도 종류에 따른 유출특성 비교 (Runoff Characteristics of Rapid Urban Expansion Area according to The Type of Land Use)

  • The objective of this paper is compare to landuse type for calculating peak flood and soil loss in rapidly expansion urban area. This study compares two landuse maps, including numerical landuse map and aerial photograph landuse map, for calculating the ratio of urban and agriculural area, curve number, time of concentration, peak flood discharge, and soil loss. It is found that flood discharge calculated using aerial photograph landuse map are larger than that calculated using numerical landuse map, and soil loss calculated using aerial photograph landuse map are smaller than that calculated using numerical landuse map. Results also indicate that landuse chage in rapidly expansion urban area significantly influences flood discharge and soil loss.

파일 방파제의 소파성능 해석 (Analysis on Wave Absorbing Performance of a Pile Breakwater)

  • Based on the eigenfunction expansion method, the wave-absorbing performance of a square or circular pile breakwater was investigated. Flow separation resulting from sudden contraction and expansion is generated and is the main cause of significant energy loss. Therefore, evaluation of an exact energy loss coefficient is critical to enhancing the reliability of the mathematical model. To obtain the energy loss coefficient, 2-dimensional turbulent flow is analyzed using the FLUENT commercial code, and the energy loss coefficient can be obtained from the pressure difference between upstream and downstream. It was found that energy loss coefficient of circular pile is 20% that of a square pile. To validate the fitting equation for the energy loss coefficient, comparison between the analytical results and the experimental results (Kakuno and Liu, 1993) was made for square and circular piles with good agreement. The array of square piles also provides better wave-absorbing efficiency than the circular piles, and the optimal porosity value is near P=0.1.

  • Transmission loss of the simple expansion chamber with multiple inlet and outlet ports is obtained. Transfer matrices which represent the relation between the power variables(pressure and velocity) of inlets and outlets depend on the input relatons as well as the acoustic system parameters(i.e. geometry of the chamber, wall admittance, etc.). The analysis has been performed analytically, including the effects of higher order modes for the 2-inlet/1-outlet, 1-inlet/2-outlet and 2-inlet/2-outlet systems. This study yeilds that phase difference between the inlet ports can significantly increase the transmission loss in low frequency range.

배기 소음기 구조가 삽입손실에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Insertion Loss on the Element of Exhaust Muffler)

  • The performances of the simple expansion, perforated tube, and conical-connector type as an exhaust muffler are shown in this study. Applying a model in which the method of four-pole parameter is used makes theoretical estimation of the insertion loss. Experiment is performed for the measurement of the insertion loss under four cases according to the variation of the tail pipe length. By comparing the theoretical prediction with the experimental results, the validity of the modeling using the method of four-pole parameter is verified. The personal computer simulation programs for the above mentioned theory on the muffler design have been developed and exhaust sound level measurements have been carried out for simple expansion muffler, conical-connector muffler, perforated tube mufflers and the combined type of conical-connector and simple expansion muffler. The measured results for attenuation characteristics of noise for each muffler are compared with the computed theoretical results to verity the confidence and applicable limits of the theoretical equation derived.

凝縮을 隨伴하는 超音速 노즐흐름의 全壓損失 (Total Pressure Loss in a Supersonic Nozzle Flow with Condensation)

  • 본 연구에서는 작동유체로서 습공기를 사용하였을때 수반되는 응축에 의한 전 압손실을 실험과 수치해석을 통하여 정체점에 있어서의 습공기의 온도, 과포화도 및 노즐 팽창율의 효과와 액적 질량비 (g)과의 관계로서 구명하였다.

  • Using waste glass in concrete can cause crack and strength loss by the expansion of alkali-silica reaction(ASR). In this study, ASR expansion and properties of strength were analyzed in terms of brown waste glass content, and fibers(steel fiber, polypropylene fiber) and fiber content for reduction ASR expansion due to waste glass. In this accelerated ASTM C 1260 test of waste glass, pessimum content can not be found. Also, when used the fibers with waste g1ass, there is an effect on reduction of expansion and strength loss due to ASR between the alkali in the cement paste and the silica in the waste glass. Specially, adding 1.5 vol.% of steel fiber to 20% of waste glass the expansion ratio was reduced by 40% and flexural strength was developed by up to 110% comparing with only Waste glass ( $80^{\circ}C$ $H_{2}$ O curing).

$CO_2$ 사이클용 로타리 베인 팽창기 성능해석 (Performance Analysis of Vane Rotary Expander for $CO_2$ Cycles)

  • Relatively low cycle performance of a conventional $CO_2$ system is partly due to significant increase in friction loss in the expansion process, since the pressure drop across the expansion device is considerably large compared to a conventional refrigeration cycle. To recover friction loss and increase refrigeration effect by providing isentropic expansion, a rotary vane type expander has been designed. Performance of the designed expander has been investigated by numerical simulation. With the pressure condition of 9 MPa/4.5 MPa and inlet temperature of $35^{\circ}C$, volumetric, isentropic, and mechanical efficiencies of the expander are calculated to be 58.1%, 101.1%, and 78.8%, respectively, resulting in total expander efficiency of 46.3%. With this expander, COP of a $CO_2$ refrigeration cycle is estimated to be improved by about 14%.

In this study, ASR expansion and properties of strength were analyzed in terms of clear waste glass grading, and by-products(fly ash, blast-furnace slag) and by-products content for reduction ASR expansion due to waste glass. In this accelerated ASTM C 1260 test of waste glass, pessimum grading can be found. Also, when the by-products are used with waste glass, there is an effect on reduction of expansion and strength loss due to ASR between the alkali in the cement paste and the silica in the waste glass.

  • Transmission Pricing is the factor of giving locational signal when Genco decides the generation expansion schedule. Therefore, TR-Pricing is influenced to generation expansion schedule. TR-Pricing is composed of three element, loss-cost and congestion-cost and equipment-cost. The main target of this paper is to analyze TR-Pricing's(especially loss-cost) inpact to generation expansion schedule. Then, this paper make a optimal counterproposal to decide the generation expansion schedule.
