Integrated Structural Design Operation by Process Decomposition and Parallelization (프로세스 분할 병행에 의한 통합 구조설계 운용)

  • Distributed operation of overall structural design process, by which product optimization and process parallelization are simultaneously implemented, is presented in this paper. The database-interacted hybrid method, which selectively takes the accustomed procedure of the conventional method in the framework of the optimal design, is utilized here. The staged application of design constraints reduces the computational burden for large complex optimization problems. Two kinds of numeric and graphic processes are simultaneously implemented by concurrent engineering approach in the distributed environment of PC networks. The former is based on finite element optimization method and the latter is represented by AutoCAD using AutoLISP programming language. Numerical computation and database interaction on servers and graphic works on independent clients are communicated through message passing. The numerical experiments for some steel truss models show the validity and usability of the method. This study has sufficient adaptability and expandability, in that it is based on general methodologies and industry standard platforms.

  • Wireless network has been used in many applications due to its advantages such as convenience, mobility, productivity, easy deployment, easy expandability and low cost. When it comes to stability, wireless network still shows its limitation which makes it difficult to be used for real-time control system. One of the first problems of using wireless network for control system is clock synchronization. There have been synchronization schemes proposed for wired networked control system as well as wireless network. But these should not be applied directly in wireless network control system. In this paper, we point out the importance of clock synchronization in wireless network control system. Then based on the characteristic of wireless networked control system, we propose a clock synchronization scheme for it. Furthermore, we simulate our scheme and compare with previous synchronization scheme in wired and wireless environments.

  • The needs for smart city management technology has been increased for efficiently managing huge and complex social infrastructures. Thus, this research introduces smart bridge facility management system based on sensor and BIM technologies so that the inadequacy of current facility maintenance system and the limitations of data objectivity, consistency and expandability can be improved. For which, current trends on sensor and BIM technologies and standard information system were investigated to derive system develop requirements, and a scenario was suggested to discuss how to utilize the suggested system. Research outcomes are expected to be utilized as a preliminary research for developing the real application framework for bridge facility management.

  • The exponential growth of Web users requires the web serves with high expandability and reliability. It leads to the excessive transmission traffic and system overload problems. To solve these problems, cluster systems are widely studied. In conventional cluster systems, when the request size is large owing to such types as multimedia and CGI, the particular server load and response time tend to increase even if the overall loads are distributed evenly. In this paper, a cluster system is proposed where each Web server in the system has different contents and loads are distributed efficiently using the Web server resource information such as CPU, memory and disk utilization. Web servers having different contents are mutually connected and managed with a network file system to maintain information consistency required to support resource information updates, deletions, and additions. Load unbalance among contents group owing to distribution of contents can be alleviated by reassignment of Web servers. Using a simulation method, we showed that our method shows up to $50\%$ about average throughput and processing time improvement comparing to systems using each LC method and RR method.

  • The online game system could be largely divided into two parts: servers and clients. Clients accesses to a game server and analyzes the packets transmitted from a server. A game server manages users information and database. U a game server allows a new client to access the server to execute a game, it should accept the access request of the new client maintaining the online connection of the existing users. In this paper, we compare Process method and Thread method within the multiple jobs process methods of a server. Then we propose an asymmetric distributed multi server architecture that is adequate to asymmetric distributed architecture that is widely applied to most game servers. The proposed asymmetric distributed multi server architecture includes login server, game server, communication server and database server to perform its own feature independently. Comparing its other architectures, it shows better performance economically and technically. Especially it improves the stability and expandability of a server.

In order to evaluate the use characteristic quality of SOA softwares a quality and about the use frost requirement from the research which it sees and escape with the scale box it examined it measured and in about the method which it decides and an evaluation instance a research the result according to the standard which is appropriate it accomplished it presented. The research which it sees it leads and it induces strategic engineering development it leads and with the fact that it will be the possibility of raising an objectivity and an application degree it expects the use characteristic quality increase of SOA softwares.

  • The web 2.0 concept rapidly spreads to the various field which is based on an opening, the participation, and a share. And the research about the recommendation system, that is the personalize feature, and social network is very active. In the case of the recommendation system and social network, it had been developing in the respectively different area and the new research toward the service model of a form that it fuses these is insignificant. In this paper, I'm going to introduce efficient social network which is called the researcher connection network. It is possible to recommend the researcher intellectually who studies the similar field by analyzing the usage log and user profile. Through this study, we could solved the network expandability problem which is due to the user passive participation and the difficulty of the initial network construction that is the conventional social network problem.

A study on the effectiveness of Senior living environmental improvement through remodeling of old apartment complex (노후 임대아파트단지 리모델링을 통한 노인거주환경개선효과에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: Korean society has already entered an aged society but there aren't many evidence-based studies on the elderly-friendly design elements in the apartment environment, which is the main residential type in Korea. The main purpose of this study is to verify the necessity and expandability of the outdoor environment design in the public rental apartment complex through the evaluation of the effectiveness and satisfaction of SMG(Seoul Metropolitan Government) Cognitive Health Design Project in GR 1 apartment complex. Methods: The research subjects were GR 1-complex as experimental group and the nearby Wolgye Deer 1-complex as control group, both public rental apartment and located in Seoul. As a research method, the survey was conducted before and after the implementation of SMG project for residents of the apartment. A total of 200 preliminary surveys and 203 post surveys were conducted. Results: As a result of this study, residents' accidents related safety have decreased, and both the frequency of use and satisfaction of most facilities have increased. It is noteworthy that the increase in cognitive items in the post-survey. Also, 74.5% of the residents evaluated that the complex was better to live after the project was implement. Implications: The fact that the preliminary surveys were not conducted for the same person is considered as the limitation of the study, but it is meaningful in that it systematically assesses the effectiveness of the project on the cognitive health of the outdoor residential environment towards age-friendly city.

  • In the traditional computing paradigm, developers design software to run in a fixed and well-defined environment. The real environment, however, is too complicated to analyze all situations perfectly. Consequently, traditional software, which is implemented only for what is wanted as input, often fails badly in real environment. As a new approach, self-adaptive software can avoid runtime failures adapting to unpredictable situations. Self-adaptive software must firstly evaluate the contextual situation to determine the need for adaptation. Existing researches do not support the abstraction mechanism for identifying contextual problem. Consequently, they can have troubles with identifying the contextual problem as the execution environment is getting complex. In addition, they cannot support the expandability for contextual problems, which software can evaluate. This paper suggests the goal-based evaluation method of contextual situation for coping with the limitations of existing researches.

  • Big data systems are widely used to collect large-scale log data, so it is very important for these systems to operate with a high level of performance. However, the current Hadoop-based big data system architecture has a problem in that its performance is low as a result of redundant processing. This paper solves this problem by improving the design of the Hadoop system architecture. The proposed architecture uses the batch-based data collection of the existing architecture in combination with a single processing method. A high level of performance can be achieved by analyzing the collected data directly in memory to avoid redundant processing. The proposed architecture guarantees system expandability, which is an advantage of using the Hadoop architecture. This paper confirms that the proposed architecture is approximately 30% to 35% faster in analyzing and processing data than existing architectures and that it is also extendable.
