자연사박물관의 전시매체유형 및 연출기법에 관한 고찰 - 국내자연사박물관사례를 중심으로 - (Study on their Presentation Types and Exhibition Methods in National History Museum - Focused on National History Museum In Korea -)

  • This paper compares presentation methods which are characteristic among museums of natural history in Korea. The different medium for exhibitions are divided into Specimen, Model or Panel Type Displays, Video Presentations, Sound, and Tactile Exhibits, and further classified as Fixed (A Type), Observable (B Type), or Performance Art (C Type) Displays. The museums we studied were the Seodaemun Museum of Natural History, Ewha Womans University Museum of Natural History, Seoul National Science Museum, Gyeryongsan Natural History Museum, the National Science Museum, Mokpo Natural History Museum, and the JejuDo Folklore and Natural History Museum. A study of these museums' approaches to display composition, and exhibition methods according to their exhibit types and contents, revealed the following results: The museums of natural history rely more on Fixed type displays to show information, with appropriate uses of the Observable and the Performance Art type exhibitions. Better utilization of appropriate medium is desired for display contents of Astronomy Space Earth, Minerals Rocks Geology, Animals, Plants, Insects, Prehistoric Organisms Environment, and Anthropology.

  • 국내 문화재와 관련된 여러 재단은 해외 한국문화재 소장 기관의 협조를 얻어 국외소재 한국문화재를 조사하고 있고, 조사 결과는 보존 복원 및 전시, 교육 등의 활용기반이 되고 있다. 국외에서 한국문화재에 대한 연구조사 및 전시 등의 활용은 활성화 되어있는 반면 국내는 연구조사 결과를 통한 활용의 사례가 많지 않으며, 국외소재문화재에 대한 접근성 또한 낮다. 본 연구의 목적은 국외소재 한국문화재에 대해 국내에서의 활용할 수 있는 방안을 모색하는 것이며, 디스플레이 전시와 온라인 박물관은 국외소재 한국문화재를 활용할 수 있는 방안이 될 수 있을 것이다. 이를 통해 국외소재 한국문화재에 대한 접근성을 높이고 전시, 교육 등 다양한 분야로 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

A construction of the exhibition evaluation support system based on GUI by visitors behavior analysis

  • The present thesis is on a construction of the system which supports exhibition evaluation of curators, which automatically collects, keeps, and totalizes objective data on visitor behavior in museums, and which comprehensively displays the results by tables and graphs. The system is composed by access points and mobile exhibition exposition devices in the museum operating together. Obtainable visitor information include a user number, an average staying period, contents use hour, and exhibition viewing frequency. Prototype experiment at museums shows that the system is effective in efficient data collection and exhibition evaluation and is expected to become an information collecting tool for visitor research and an exhibition evaluation tool for exhibition improvement.

  • 영국 국립 박물관 중의 하나인 런던의 월레스 컬렉션은 보존과 관련된 상설 전시를 하고 있는데, 유물의 제작 기법과 재료를 다룬 전시뿐 아니라, 보존에 관한 특별 주제로 전시를 하기도 한다. 월레스 컬렉션의 현재 보존관련 상설전시와 특별 전시 그리고 영국 내 다른 박물관의 예를 통해서, 보존과 일반 대중과의 관계와 교류의 변화를 살펴보고자 한다. 박물관은 기존에는 수동적 정보 전달의 역할이었지만, 현재는 보다 적극적인 교육에 초점을 맞추면서, 보존도 일반 대중의 위한 프로그램과 전시를 통해 이러한 변화에 동참하는 추세다.

  • 새로운 제품의 홍보는 전시디자인의 중요한 목적중 하나이다. 대부분의 전통적인 전시기법은 아날로그 매체로 구현되어 왔으며 일방형구조로 실현된다. 그러나 시대상을 반영하고 첨단제품 등을 홍보하기 위해서는 디지털기술을 이용한 새로운 전시기법의 개발이 필요하다. 이 글은 카메라 센서기술과 비디오 입출력 기법을 활용한 디지털미디어분야와 전시디자인에 결합 가능성을 제시하고자 한다. 관람자와 전시물간의 상호작용은 홍보하고자하는 주제 및 제품에 대해 관람자로 하여금 보다 적극적인 참여를 유도할 수 있으며 이를 통해 효과적으로 전시목표를 달성할 수 있다. 비디오 입출력을 활용한 다양한 디스플레이 기법은 직간접적인 제품의 소개와 더불어 재미의 속성을 관람자에게 전달하게 된다. 관람자는 물리적인 경험과 학습의 효과를 전시를 통해 경험할 수 있으며 해당 기업이나 제품에 대해 긍정적인 이미지를 얻게 된다. 비디오 입출력을 이용한 작가의 사례와 이를 활용한 전시디자인의 예시를 분류하여 유형별 가능성을 살펴보았다. 뉴미디어 작가와 전시디자인의 결합은 상호결함을 보완할 수 있으며 아이디어와 기술의 결합 그리고 현실화의 문제를 해결할 수 있을 것이다.

전시환경의 영상 맵핑에 관한 연구 (A study on the Image Mapping of the Exhibition Environment)

  • 본 연구에서는 영상 콘텐츠를 전시 공간에서 프로젝션 맵핑(Projection Mapping) 기법을 활용하여 적용하기 위한 방법을 제안한다. 일반적인 전시 공간에서는 작가의 작품을 전시하고 일방적으로 보여주는 방식과 스크린으로 정의되는 벽면을 이용하는 방식으로 전시를 진행한다. 하지만, 새로운 전시의 형태는 일방적이지 않고, 공간의 제약도 벗어난 방식으로 변화한다. 전시 공간의 구성요소인 벽이나 다양한 설치물을 공간의 구획을 위한 재료가 아닌 전시의 핵심 내용으로 사용하고자 하는 것이다. 이렇게 이루어진 전시의 형태는 공간도 하나의 전시요소로 이를 관람하고 새로운 환경에 대한 전시의 재미와 흥미를 느낄 수 있다. 영상과 공간이 융합된 전시를 구성하기 위해서 다양한 영상 기법이 필요한데 그중에서 중첩영역을 처리하는 에지블랜딩(Edge Blending)과 정형화되어 있지 않은 스크린 영역 투사를 위한 와핑(Wapping)을 사용하는 전시 방식에 대한 연구를 진행하고자 한다.

현대 패션 전시의 유형별 연출 기법과 특성 연구 (A Study on Display Techniques and Characteristics of Contemporary Fashion Exhibitions)

  • The article surveys the technique and characteristics of contemporary fashion exhibitions in terms of fashion museography and fashion curation. The article reviewed both a literature study on the history of fashion exhibition focused on the display technique as well as a case study of domestic and international contemporary fashion exhibitions. The results of the article is as follows. Fashion brand exhibitions are about building competitive business advantage by planning differentiated contents. It gives viewers a brand fantasy and increases brand loyalty. This type mainly displays the latest collections on the commercial purpose as well as uses diverse mediums and high technology to make a spectacular space that provides an immersive experience to the viewer. Second, the museum fashion exhibition focuses on the roles of fashion in terms of social, cultural and artistic aspects that also focus on public education. The presentation technique emphasizes careful collection conservation rather than celebrate fashion business. The article is to encourage a further scholar discourse of fashion curatorial practice and theory.

전시방문객의 소셜미디어 공유의도에 관한 연구 -디뮤지엄의 Plastic Fantastic과 Instagram을 중심으로- (A Study on the Social Media Sharing Intention by Exhibition Visitors -Focused on D Museum Plastic-Fantastic and Instagram-)

  • Today, visitors of art galleries like to share their life in their communities than interacting with artwork. Meantime, image sharing of an exhibition on social media has become more important than actual watching of the artwork. Accordingly, most of the galleries have started paying more attention in organizing an exhibition environment for proof-shots to attract more visitors. We initially conducted research about the internet environment from the late 1990s to the recent years and analyzed the changing watching patterns of the exhibition since the advent of social media. Secondly, for empirical case analysis, we selected 'Plastic Fantastic' held in D-Museum as the target of analysis. The analysis targeted 500 recent postings that were discovered on Instagram on March 4, 2018, as 'Plastic-Fantastic'(in Korean). The methods of analysis included classification types of image, hashtag, and text on Instagram and were arranged in an order of relation to the exhibits. Based on the image analysis, 44.2% of the images involved exhibition displays; the others included a person or other goods. Based on the results of the text and hashtag analysis, only 3.6% of posting included information about the exhibition and 56.4% had non-related inflow hashtags only with image. The behavior of these shares is likely to gradually lose the inherent meaning of the exhibition and to the value rather than imparting the artistic thrill that viewers derive from art. Exhibition should try to seek deep interaction between the display, audience, and social media users, rather than encouraging the visitors to take proof-shots.

Assessment of Display and Events of Agro-Healing Experience Center for Visitors Satisfaction and Revisit Intention: A Case Study of 2018 Changwon Agricultural Technology Exhibition

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of the exhibition displays and events of the Agro-healing Experience Hall in the Agricultural Technology Exhibition 2018 on satisfaction and revisit intention of visitors. A survey was conducted on visitors of the Agro-healing Experience Hall and the responses of 274 visitors excluding 26 cases with inappropriate responses were analyzed. For psychological measurement, the Perceived Restorativeness Scale (PRS), Profile of Mood States (POMS), level of plant gardening experience, satisfaction and loyalty were measured. There was a significant difference among age groups in all four factors of the PRS (repose, fascination, coherence, and legibility). In the case of education level, there was a significant difference in the three factors (repose, fascination, and legibility). In addition, average monthly income showed a significant difference among groups in the two factors (fascination and coherence). As a result of analyzing the mood states of visitors for the exhibition events of the Agro-healing Experience Hall, there was a significant difference among age groups only in the case of vigor (p < .05). As a result of analyzing the correlation between the level of plant gardening activities (3 factors) and PRS (4 factors) in the exhibition events of the Agro-healing Experience Hall, plant preference tendency and plant-related event showed a high positive correlation of 0.5 or more with repose of the PRS factors. A multiple regression analysis was conducted to investigate the effects of the level of plant gardening activities, PRS and POMS on the satisfaction and loyalty of visitors. As a result, it was found that in terms of relative explanatory power over independent variables affecting satisfaction and revisit intention, fascination had the greatest effect, followed by vigor, fatigue, and occupation (company employee). The results of this study suggest that exhibition events of the Agro-healing Experience Hall affect repose, fascination or vigor of visitors, and thus can be used positively to increase satisfaction and revisit intention of visitors.
