선박 디젤기관의 배기배출물 특성이 흡기 온도변화에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Changing the Intake Air Temperature in a Marine Diesel Engine on the Characteristics of Exhaust Gas Emission)

  • 최근 지구의 기후변화는 온실가스가 원인으로 전 세계적 대기환경문제로 크게 부각되고 있다. 국내에서도 기후변화에 적극 대응하기 위한 기술개발이 꾸준히 진행되고 있다. 날씨의 이상고온으로 인한 환경에 미치는 영향과 갑작스런 집중호우가 환경에 미치는 영향을 대상으로 하였다. 우리생활 주변 대기온도가 상승하였을 때 온도변화에 의한 대기오염발생에 미치는 영향을 연구하고자 한다. 본 연구의 실험조건은 선박 디젤기관에서 회전수 1400 rpm, 1600 rpm 그리고 1800 rpm, 부하는 0 %에서 25 %씩 100 %까지 하였고, 흡기 온도변화는 20℃에서 50℃까지 구분하여 연구하였다. 연구한 결과 흡기온도가 증가함에 따라 일산화탄소 및 탄화수소는 약간 감소하였으나 연료소비율, 질소산화물, PM은 약간 증가하였다. 또한 연소온도는 큰 변화가 없었다.

  • Combined cycle power plant is a system where a gas turbine or steam turbine is used to produce shaft power to drive a generator for producing electrical power and the steam from the HRSG is expanded in a steam turbine for additional shaft power. Combined cycle plant is a one from of cogeneration. The temperature of the exhaust gases from a gas turbine ranges from $400^\circC$ to $600^\circC$, and can be used effectively in a heat recovery steam generator to produce steam. Combined cycle can be classed as a "topping(gas turbine)" and a "bottoming(steam turbine)" cycle. The first cycle, to which most of the heat is supplied, is called the topping cycle. The wasted heat it produces is then utilized in a second process which operates at a lower temperature level and is therefore referred to as a "bottoming cycle". The combination of gas/steam turbine power plant managed to be accepted widely because, first, each individual system has already proven themselves in power plants with a single cycle, therefore, the development costs are low. Secondly, the air as a working medium is relatively non-problematic and inexpensive and can be used in gas turbines at an elevated temperature level over $1000^\circC$. The steam process uses water, which is likewise inexpensive and widely available, but better suited for the medium and low temperature ranges. It, therefore, is quite reasonable to use the steam process for the bottoming cycle. Only recently gas turbines attained inlet temperature that make it possible to design a highly efficient combined cycle. In the present study, performance analysis of a dual pressure combined-cycle power plant is carried out to investigate the influence of topping cycle to combined cycle performance.

노후 운행경유차의 NOx 배출특성분석 및 조기폐차대책을 통한 삭감 방안 검토 (Evaluation of Accelerated Retirement Program for In-use Diesel Vehicles based on their NOx Emission Characteristics)

  • Currently, the proportion of diesel vehicles in all automobile has grown significantly over the past few years. Air pollutant also grew up and became a social problem. In particular, the issue of NOx emissions caused by NOx high emission in real driving has become a global issue. Despite the fact that the regulatory and reduction project of the new vehicle is actively carried out, there are no existence regulations of In-use diesel vehicle's NOx emission. Therefore, the emission characteristics of the in-use diesel vehicles were investigated to seek ways to reduce NOx emissions in this study. The test targets were used in 237 close inspection of exhaust gases and model year varied from 1996 to 2011. However, the classification of emissions by emission standards differed considerably from NOx emissions. This means that the selection method for early retirement targets should be converted from model year to amount of emissions. If the current early retirement program was applied to the existing system, pre-Euro 3 was 22.530 g/km and Euro 4 was 21.810 g/km to NOx reduction. However, when the vehicle was changed to high emission target vehicle, NOx reduction increase maximum 84.705 kg/yr. According to the study results, an effective reduction in NOx emissions can be achieved if an earlier target in expanded to Euro 4 vehicles.

  • 전 세계적으로 온실가스 및 대기 오염물질 배출 저감을 위한 환경 규제가 강화되고 있고, 그에 따라 여러 가지 대책들이 마련되고 있다. 또한 환경오염 최소화와 더불어 효과적이고 합리적인 에너지 절감 방법에 대한 필요성이 점차 커지고 있는 실정이다. 선박 분야의 경우에는 친환경 선박 개발이 활발히 연구되고 있으며 배기가스 배출저감, 대체 연료 개발, 새로운 추진 방식의 선박 등이 이러한 연구 범주에 속한다. 본 논문에서는 하이브리드 전기추진선박에 대한 기본 개념을 제시하고, 선박 운전환경 분석에 따른 하이브리드 전기추진선박의 전력공급 시스템 배터리 단독 운전, 발전기 단독 운전 및 전 출력 운전 모드로 구성하고 각 운전 모드별 속도, 전류, 전압 및 출력 특성을 분석하였다.

Bench-Flow Reactor System을 이용한 Lean NOx Trap 촉매의 특성 연구 (Study of Characterization for Lean NOx Trap Catalysts Utilizing a Bench-Flow Reactor System)

  • The performance of Lean NOx Trap (LNT) based on the catalysts of Pt/K/Ba/$\gamma-Al_2O_3$ with proprietary washcoat formulation is studied using a bench flow reactor system. To investigate the effect of temperature and gas hourly space velocity (GHSV) on the nitrogen oxides (NOx) trapping capacity as well as NOx breakthrough time and final ratio of $NO_2$ to NO of LNT, series of adsorption isotherms are carried out with simulated exhaust gases of the lean burn engines. Since typical operation of LNT requires periodic regeneration with a short rich excursion, where the stored or trapped NOx is released and subsequently reduced to $N_2$, the effect of the duration of lean and rich phase and type of reductants on the NOx conversion is investigated. NOx storage capacity and breakthrough time obtained from adsorption isotherms shows a volcano-type dependence on the temperature with a maximum NOx storage capacity occurring $350^{\circ}C$ and with a maximum breakthrough time occurring $400^{\circ}C$ at all GHSVs investigated in this study. Also, maximum ratio of $NO_2$ to NO is obtained at $400^{\circ}C$ with a GHSV of $75,000\;hr^{-1}$ Lean/rich cycle of 100 s lean and 5 s rich used with a concentration of 1.33% of $H_2$ and 4% of CO in the rich phase is found to be optimum at operating temperature of $350^{\circ}C$ and a GHSV of $50,000\;hr^{-1}$.

알칼리 금속 이온(Na, K)이 V/W/TiO2의 NH3-SCR 반응인자에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Alkali Metal Ions (Na, K) on NH3-SCR Response of V/W/TiO2)

  • 본 연구는 다양한 산업공정의 배가스 중 대표적인 활성저하 물질로 알려진 알칼리 금속[Na(Sodium)과 K(Potassium)]이 V/W/TiO2 촉매의 NH3-SCR 반응에 미치는 영향을 확인 하였다. 이에 따른 활성 저하 원인을 규명하고자 NO, NH3-TPD, DRIFT, H2-TPR 분석을 수행 하였다. 그 결과, 각 알칼리 금속은 촉매 피독으로 작용하여 NH3 흡착양이 저하되고, Na과 K은 촉매의 반응 활성에 기여하는 L산점과 B산점을 감소시켜 SCR 반응을 저하시킨다. H2-TPR 분석을 통하여 알칼리 금속은 V-O-V (bridge oxygen bond)와 V=O (terminal bond)의 환원 온도에 영향을 끼쳐, 환원 온도가 고온으로 올라가기 때문에 활성 저하 원인으로 판단된다.

냉장고 파쇄 공정에서의 화재 위험성 및 예방에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Fire Risk Assessment and Prevention in the Recycling Process of Used Refrigerators)

  • 본 연구에서는 냉장고 리사이클링 공정에서 잦은 화재가 일어나는 것에 대해 정확한 화재 원인을 규명하고자 한다. 이를 위하여 공정 내에서 발생되는 물질의 성분 및 농도를 분석을 통한 공정 시스템의 문제점을 파악하여 근원적인 화재 및 폭발의 발생을 차단할 수 있는 예방대책을 제시하여 보았다. 연구를 수행하면서 얻은 결과들은 파쇄공정의 가연물로 폴리우레탄, 폴리우레탄 분진 및 가연성기체 혼합물인 사이클로펜탄과 메탄의 존재 확인이며 점화원은 기계적 스파크인 마찰, 충격, 마찰열이라는 사실을 알 수 있었다. 아울러 화재 양상은 폴리우레탄의 표면의 가연성 혼합 가스는 주로 사이클로펜탄의 점화, 폴리우레탄 분진의 훈소 및 가연성혼합가스의 flash fire 임을 알 수 있었다. 가연물인 폴리우레탄과 가연성가스를 제거하는 방법, 점화원을 제거하는 방법 및 산소농도를 최소산소농도로 낮춰서 연소가 일어나지 않도록 하는 방법 등의 예방대책과 화재 시 피해를 줄이기 위한 방호대책을 제시해 보았다.

일부 도시 교통경찰관의 일산화탄소 개인 노출과 혈중 카르복실헤모글로빈에 관한 연구 (Personal Carbon Monoxide Exposures and Carboxyhemoglobin Levels of the Traffic Policemen)

  • The number of motor vehicles in Korea has increased to about 4 million, and the exhaust gases of these vehicles have become a more threatening factor to public health. Traffic policemen are one of the highest health risk groups since they work on roadsides where they are exposed to high levels of air pollutants. The health effects on them due to air pollution were determined by measuring personal carbon monoxide(CO) exposure and carboxyhemoglobin(COHb) level in blood. Thirty-one traffic policemen in Seoul volunteered to be subjects of the study. In October 1992, personal CO exposure was measured by a CO passive sampler. The subjects wore the CO passive sampler for 8 hours while on duty. The exposed samples were analyzed by gas chromatography. Blood samples from each subject were collected just after the exposure sampling, and were analyzed within 3 hours of blood collection by a CO-oximeter. The activities of the subjects were recorded by the subject in 30 minute intervals using an activity log sheet containing location and time spent. Personal CO exposure were ranged between 0.1 and 14.5ppm, eith an average of 5.9ppm. Carboxyhemoglobin levels ranged from 1.1% to 6.9%, with an average of 3.6%. policemen on duty outdoors had significantly higher CO exposures and COHb levels than policemen on duty indoors(p<0.01). Personal CO exposure and COHb were positively correlated, although the coefficient was not significant. The relationship between CO level and COHb level was confounded by smoking status. Among smokers, COHb level was significantly higher as CO exposure and hours worked outdoors increased.

탄소평형법을 적용한 천연가스 자동차의 연비 산출 방법 고찰 (A Study on Fuel Economy Determination of Natural Gas Vehicle Using Carbon Balance Method)

  • 본 연구는 천연가스를 기반으로 하는 가스연료 자동차의 연비산출방법에 대해 미국과 유럽의 기준을 조사하고 적합성을 분석하여 국내에 적합한 자동차 연비 산출방법을 도출하는데 목적이 있다. 탄소평형법으로 유도되는 연료소비율 산출은 연료의 탄소중량비와 자동차 배출가스중 탄소성분의 평형 관계식에 의해 유도된다. 미국기준은 시험가스 조성의 제한이 없지만 유럽 기준은 기준 시험가스(G20, G23)를 사용하여야 한다. 국내 도시가스를 사용하는 NGV의 경우 유럽기준을 적용하면 시험가스의 차이로 연비가 약 12% 불리하게 나오는 것으로 확인되었다. 또한, 연비 산출시 필요한 연료물성을 발열량으로부터 결정하는 방법을 소개하고 이러한 방법을 기반으로 국내 천연가스 자동차 연비 산출방법을 제시하였다.

보일러 내부 고온가스에 노출된 전열 튜브에서의 열유속 평가 방법 (Estimation method of heat flux at tube bank exposed to high temperature flue gas in large scale coal fired boilers)

  • Most of the fossil power plants firing lower grade coals are challenged with maintaining good combustion conditions while maximizing generation and minimizing emissions. In many cases significant derate, availability losses and increase in unburned carbon levels can be attributed to poor combustion conditions as a result of poorly controlled local fuel and air distribution within the boiler furnace. The poor combustion conditions are directly related to the gas flow deviation in upper furnace and convection tube-bank but a less reported issue related to in large-scale oppose wall fired boilers. In order to develop a on-line combustion monitoring system and suggest an alternative heat flux estimation method at tube bank, which is very useful information for boiler design tool and blower optimizing system, field test was conducted at operating power boiler. During the field test the exhaust gases' temperature and tube metal temperature were monitored by using a spatially distributed sensors grid which located in the boiler's high temperature vestibule region. At these locations. the flue gas flow is still significantly stratified, and air in-leakage is minimal which enables tracing of poor combustion zones to specific burners and over-fire air ports. Test results showed that the flue gas monitoring method is more proper than metal temperature distribution monitoring for real time combustion monitoring because tube metal temp. distribution monitoring method is related to so many variables such as flue gas, internal flow unbalance, spray etc., Heat flux estimation at the tube bank with flue gas temp. and metal temp. data can be alternative method when tube drilling type sensor can't able to use.
