Mild combustion or Flameless oxidation(FLOX) have been considered as one of the most prospective clean-combustion technologies to meet both the targets of high process efficiency and low pollutant emissions. A mild combustor with high air preheating and strong internal exhaust gas recirculation is characterized by relatively low flame temperature, low NOx emissions, no visible flame and no sound. In this study, the Steady Flamelet Approach has been applied to numerically analyze the combustion processes and NOx formation in the mild combustor. The detailed discussion has been made f3r the basic characteristics of mild combustor, numerical results and limitation of the present combustion modeling.

It is necessary to discuss lightening engine parts and reducing the friction of sliding parts to improve fuel consumption and combustion stability at idling condition. Lean best torque combustion which produce maximum power at a lean air-fuel ratio is effective for the reduction of exhaust gas emission and the improvement of fuel consumption. Accordingly, this study deals with the expansion of lean combustible limitation, the combustion stability and the reduction of idle speed through the analysis of combustion characteristics on the base of the control technique of precise air-fuel ratio because it does not need to maximum power at idling condition. The idle speed is increased proportional to ISC(Idle Speed Control) duty ratio. On the other hand the idle speed decreased by lean air-fuel ratio. The COV in engine speed is stable within maximum two percent up to 17.6 mixture ratio by the control of ISC duty ratio.
This study aims to find out sector effects with the appraisal of building energy systems of urban ecosystem considering cost effects and environmental constraints condition such as climatic change factors including $CO_2$ gas which are not dealt in the institutional boundary as components standards and performance standards on energy performance of each part of a building applied on heavy energy spending buildings at present. The results of the appraisal of building energy systems shows that the existing building energy systems are not enough to fulfil the environmental condition under the environmental constraints supposing QELROs(Quantified Emission Limitation and Reduction Objectives) of carbon-dioxide exhaust. Henceforth, it is needed to fulfill the environmental criteria required by the Climatic Change Agreement for improving the adiabatic performance of each part of a building and active using of the solar energy.

A Propulsion System of the CRW(Canard Rotor Wing) type UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) was composed of the turbojet engine to generate the propulsive exhaust gas, and the duct system including straight bent ducts, tip-jet nozzles, a master valve and a variable main nozzle for three flight modes such as lift/landing mode, low speed transition flight mode and high speed forward flight mode. In this study, in order to operate safely the propulsion system, the dynamic Performance behavior of the system was modeled and simulated using the SIMULIN $K^{ }$, which is the user-friendly GUI type dynamic analysis tool provided by MATLA $B^{ }$. In the transient performance model, the inter-component volume model was used. The performance analysis using the developed models was performed at various flight condition, valve angle positions and fuel flow schedules, and these results could set the safe flight mode transition region to satisfy the inlet temperature overshoot limitation as well as the compressor surge margin. Performance analysis results using the SIMULIN $K^{ }$ performance program were compared with them using the commercial program GSP.m GSP.

A steady-state/transient performance simulation model was newly developed for the propulsion system of the CRW (Canard Rotor Wing) type UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) during flight mode transition. The CRW type UAV has a new concept RPV (Remotely Piloted Vehicle) which can fly at two flight modes such as the take-off/landing and low speed forward flight mode using the rotary wing driven by engine bypass exhaust gas and the high speed forward flight mode using the stopped wing and main engine thrust. The propulsion system of the CRW type UAV consists of the main engine system and the duct system. The flight vehicle may generally select a proper type and specific engine with acceptable thrust level to meet the flight mission in the propulsion system design phase. In this study, a turbojet engine with one spool was selected by decision of the vehicle system designer, and the duct system is composed of main duct, rotor duct, master valve, rotor tip-jet nozzles, and variable area main nozzle. In order to establish the safe flight mode transition region of the propulsion system, steady-state and transient performance simulation should be needed. Using this simulation model, the optimal fuel flow schedules were obtained to keep the proper surge margin and the turbine inlet temperature limitation through steady-state and transient performance estimation. Furthermore, these analysis results will be used to the control optimization of the propulsion system, later. In the transient performance model, ICV (Inter-Component Volume) model was used. The performance analysis using the developed models was performed at various flight conditions and fuel flow schedules, and these results could set the safe flight mode transition region to satisfy the turbine inlet temperature overshoot limitation as well as the compressor surge margin. Because the engine performance simulation results without the duct system were well agreed with the engine manufacturer's data and the analysis results using a commercial program, it was confirmed that the validity of the proposed performance model was verified. However, the propulsion system performance model including the duct system will be compared with experimental measuring data, later.

The continuously variable transmission (CVT) of which speed ratio can change continuously in a fixed range has the benefits of low fuel consumption and exhaust gas because it enables the engine of a vehicle to operate in a high efficiency range regardless of vehicle speed. The speed ratio of belt type CVT is controlled by adjusting line pressure. The one of the line pressure control methods, mechanical-hydraulic control is usually adopting VDT's control method, in which the secondary solenoid valve has two functions both a regulator and a line pressure controller. However, this control method could not show the high performance of CVT with optimal driving capability because of the limitation of simple control algorithm, and it could not gain market share sufficiently in spite of the advantage of CVT with low fuel consumption. On the other hand, the electro-hydraulic control method gives the enhancement of power performance and low fuel consumption by implementing various driving mode using the proportional control or PWM control. The key of CVT technique is to develop a control algorithm of the electro-hydraulic solenoid valve in order to implement the speed ratio efficiently. In this paper, the line pressure control algorithm is proposed and the hydraulic system is controlled using metal belt type CVT test rig and the embedded ECU platform.
The objective of this paper is to propose a modelling of a small compressed air energy storage system, which drives an induction generator based on a field-oriented control (FOC) principle for a renewable power generation. The proposed system is a hybrid technology of energy storage and electrification, which is developed to use as a small scale of renewable energy power plant. The energy will be transferred from the renewable energy resource to the compressed air energy by reciprocating air compressor to be stored in a pressurized vessel. The energy storage system uses a small compressed air energy storage system, developed as a small unit and installed above ground to avoid site limitation as same as the conventional CAES does. Therefore, it is suitable to be placed at any location. The system is operated in low pressure not more than 15 bar, so, it easy to available component in country and inexpensive. The power generation uses a variable speed induction generator (IG). The relationship of pressure and air flow of the compressed air, which varies continuously during the discharge of compressed air to drive the generator, is considered as a control command. As a result, the generator generates power in wide speed range. Unlike the conventional CAES that used gas turbine, this system does not have any combustion units. Thus, the system does not burn fuel and exhaust pollution. This paper expresses the modelling, thermodynamic analysis simulation and experiment to obtain the characteristic and performance of a new concept of a small compressed air energy storage power plant, which can be helpful in system designing of renewable energy electrification. The system was tested under a range of expansion pressure ratios in order to determine its characteristics and performance. The efficiency of expansion air of 49.34% is calculated, while the efficiency of generator of 60.85% is examined. The overall efficiency of system of approximately 30% is also investigated.
