Continuously motivating people to exercise regularly is more important than finding a way out of barriers such as lack of time, cost of equipment, lack of nearby facilities, and poor weather. Our proposed system presents practicable methods of motivation through a diverse exercise aid system. The Health Improvement and Management System (all-in-one system which saves space and maintenance costs) measures and evaluates a diverse body shape analysis and physical fitness test and directs users to automated personalized exercise prescription which is prescribed by the expert system of three types of exercise templates: aerobics, anaerobics, and leisure sports. Automated personalized exercise prescriptions are built into XML based documents because the data needs to be in the form of flexible, expansible, and convertible structures in order to process various exercise templates, BIOFIT, a digital exercise trainer, monitors and provides feedback on the physiological parameters while users are working out in the gymnasium. If these parameters do not range within the prescribed target zone, the device will alarm users to control the exercise and make the exercise trainer adjust systemically the proper exercise level. Numeric health information such as the report of the physical fitness test and the exercise prescription makes people stay interested in exercising. In addition, this service can be delivered through the Internet.
Objectives: This study aims to examine if the follow-up management service by National Health Insurance (NHI) for person at health risk leads to significant modification of the lifestyle and change of health status. Methods: Of persons who underwent health screening and were classified as having health risks after periodic health screening by NHI in 2003, persons who took the follow-up management service were selected as case group and persons who took no service were selected as control group. The DW database of NHI was used to explore the effect of the follow-up management service on the modification of health status and lifestyle. Chi-square tests were conducted with SAS 9.1 to examine the differences of health promotion effect between case vs. control group. Results: It was shown that of lifestyle behaviors, only exercise was significantly improved for case group compared with control group as the effect of the follow-up management service by NHI (2.98%p) (p<.0001). Further, morbidity rate for control group was 2% higher than that of case group (p <.0001), which indicates that persons who received the follow-up management service better maintained their health significantly than persons who did not. Conclusions: The present study shows that the appropriate follow-up management services need to be provided for maximizing potential effect of periodic health screening by NHI.

In this paper, we propose a mobile app for personalized rehabilitation exercise coaching and management service using an edge computing-based personalized exercise information collection system. The existing management method that relies on user input information has difficulty in examining the actual possibility of rehabilitation. In this paper, we implement an application that collects movement information along with body joint information through image information analysis based on edge computing at a remote location, measures the time and accuracy of the movement, and provides rehabilitation progress through correct posture information. In addition, in connection with the measurement equipment of the rehabilitation center, the health status can be managed, and the accuracy of exercise information and trend analysis information is provided. The results of this study will enable management and coaching according to self-rehabilitation exercises in a contactless environment.

The most frequently offered health education programs were education on hypertension, exercise, diabetes, volunteer work, and smoking cessation. The main obstacles to health education were lack of adequate space, insufficient education materials and equipment, and lack of cooperation from the citizens.
