운동처방 프로그램을 통한 중·고령 근로자의 체력향상을 통한 노동력 증진 (Improvement of physical fitness and work ability of the middle-aged and aged workers through exercise prescription program)

  • The purposes of this study were to investigate whether the program of health promotion and follow up feedback by periods could improve physical fitness related to work ability of the middle-aged and aged workers. Subjects were composed of two groups; workers aged below forty five and forty five and over who had measured their health-related physical fitness twice for 2 years (2006 & 2007) through the program of health promotion operated by Korea Occupational Safety & Health Agency. Paired t-test was used to evaluate the difference between the first measurement and re-measurement of health-related fitness which was operated after six to twelve months from the first one. We used 0.05 level for statistical significance. The results of this study were as follows. All measurement items including body fat ratio(%), $VO_2max$, grip strength, sit-up, and trunk flexion were significantly improved in both groups. The improvement(%) of $VO_2max$, grip strength of workers of forty five and above was lower than those of workers of below forty five. Servicing the program of health promotion and follow up feedback by periods may help workers' improvement of health-related physical fitness related to work ability.

멀티플랫폼 환경의 만성 질환자 건강관리를 위한 유헬스 서비스 모델 (U-health Service Model for Managing Health of Chronic Patients in Multi-platform Environment)

  • 만성질환자가 증가함에 따라서 유헬스 서비스는 특정 질병의 치료 및 관리에서 서비스 대상자에 대한 행동수정기반의 예방서비스로 진화하고 있다. 기존의 유헬스 서비스는 원격진료나 상담을 통한 서비스나 생체정보의 모니터링만을 제공하여 대사증후군 등 만성질환자를 예방하거나 관리하는 것에는 한계가 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 만성질환자의 건강관리를 위한 멀티플랫폼 기반의 유헬스 서비스 모델를 제안한다. 멀티플랫폼 기반의 유헬스 서비스는 PC와 스마트폰을 통하여 사용자의 위치와 제한없이 지속적으로 건강 정보 및 식이, 운동에 대한 서비스가 가능하다. 또한 임상정보를 바탕으로 CDS(Clinical Decision Support) 모듈을 활용한 처방 서비스를 의사와 간호사에게 제공한다. 의사는 행동수정 프로그램을 통해 서비스 대상자의 생활패턴을 파악하고 맞춤화된 서비스의 제공이 가능하다. 본 유헬스 서비스 모델은 서비스 대상자에게 멀티플랫폼 환경에서 효과적인 서비스를 제공하여 만성질환자의 건강증진에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

태권체조 국내 연구동향 분석 (The Research Trend of Taekwon Dancing)

  • 본 연구는 태권도의 대중화를 장려하기 위한 방안으로 개발된 프로그램인 태권체조의 가치와 학문적 목적을 살펴보기 위해 연구동향을 파악하였다. 이와 같은 목적을 달성하기 위해 본 연구는 26개의 학술지에 게재된 46편의 논문을 분석하였다. 자료분석은 IBM SPSS stastics 23.0 프로그램을 이용하였으며, 연구주제, 연구방법, 연구대상으로 구분하여 빈도분석을 실시하였다. 이에 따른 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연구영역에 있어서는 운동생리학 및 처방 영역에서 꾸준하게 논문이 게재되었으며, 최근에 스포츠 교육학 영역에서 연구가 게재되고 있다. 둘째, 연구방법에 있어서는 양적 연구가 질적 연구보다는 많이 이루어졌으며, 양적 연구에 있어서는 집단 간의 차이를 검증하는 연구가 가장 많이 게재되었고, 질적 연구에 있어서는 문헌연구가 가장 많이 게재된 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 연구대상에 있어서는 사람을 대상으로 한 연구가 가장 많이 이루어졌으며, 하위 그룹별로는 성인, 노인, 중학생 순으로 연구가 이루어졌다. 자료 대상으로 분석한 연구에 있어서는 문헌이나 웹자료 분석, 동영상 분석 연구가 이루어졌으며, 기타로 게임프로그램과 관련된 연구가 게재되었다.

Effects of amygdalin on the functional recovery and c-Fos expression in the ventrolateral periaqueductal gray region after sciatic crushed nerve injury in rats

  • Peripheral nerve injuries are a commonly encountered clinical problem and often result in a chronic pain and severe functional deficits. The expression of c-Fos is sometimes used as a marker of increased neuronal activity. We have prepared the aqueous extract of amygdalin from Armeniacae semen for pain control. In the present study, we investigated the effects of amygdalin on the recovery rate of the locomotor function and on the expression of c-Fos in the ventrolateral periaqueductal gray (vlPAG) region following sciatic crushed nerve injury in rats. Walking track analysis for the evaluation of functional recovery and immunohistochemistry for the c-Fos expression were used in this study. In the present results, characteristic gait change with dropping of the sciatic function index (SFI) was observed and c-Fos expression in the vlPAG was suppressed following sciatic crushed nerve injury in rats. Amygdalin enhanced SFI value and restored c-Fos expression in the vlPAG to the control value. The present our study indicated that amygdalin activates neurons in the vlPAG, and it facilitates functional recovery following peripheral nerve injury.

당뇨병의 연구 경향에 대한 고찰 -한의 학술 논문 검색을 중심으로- (The Review on the Study of Diabetes Mellitus in Oriental Medicine Journals)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study is to research trends in the study of diabetes mellitus and to establish the future direction for its study. Methods : We reviewed oriental medicine papers published in the last twenty-three years(1980-2002). Results : 1. We researched 94 papers in 14 journals and the patterns of study were as follows: experimental studies were 53 (56.3%), reviewed studies were 20 (21.2%), clinical studies were 12 (12.7%) and case reports were 9 (9.8%). 2. The experimental studies (53) were divided into papers on efficiency testing of herbal medications (40) and acupuncture & moxibustion (13). 3. The reviewed studies showed that research has been carried out in the fields of cause, pathogenesis, principles for treating disease, acupuncture and moxibustion, herbal medication, exercise, and relation of sasang (사상) to diabetes mellitus. 4. The clinical studies showed that the research was carried out in the fields of follow up surveys for herbal medication efficiency testing, the relativity of diabetes mellitus to other diseases and sasang (사상). 5. In consequence of researching the case reports, there was no common prescription used meaningfully. Conclusions : We need more studies of diabetes mellitus by reaching for specific therapy.

대동맥판(大動脈瓣) 폐쇄불전증(閉鎖不全症)으로 흉통(胸痛)을 호소하는 태음인(太陰人)환자의 가미조리폐원탕(加味調理肺元湯) 치험례 (A Case of Chest Pain in Taeumin Caused by Aortic Regurgitation Treated with Gamijoripewontang)

  • Aortic regurgitation occurs when there is a leakage of the valve backward into the left ventricle during diastole. Chronic aortic regurgitation may be present for decades before any symptoms occur. The left ventricle is able to compensate for the large volume of blood that flows backward by enlarging the cavity and increasing the thickness of the muscle. This mechanism allows the heart to pump out both the amount of blood required by the body and the blood that has gone backward into the left ventricle. One patient who had chest pain from exercise was treated. He was diagnosed with aortic regurgitation LVH by echocardiography. Signs showed him to be of Taeumin-type within Sasang Constitutional Medicine. He was prescribed Gamijoripewontang for 75 days, and improvement of clinical symptoms were observed. Results support prescription of Gamijoripewontang as an effective treatment for Taeumin-type patients suffering chest pain caused by aortic regurgitation.

The Binding of Aflatoxin $B_1$ Modulates the Adhesion Properties of Lactobacillus casei KCTC 3260 to a HT29 Colon Cancer Cell Line

  • The 14 lactic acid bacteria (LAB) have been evaluated to determine the binding capacity to HT29 cell and Aflatoxin $B_1$ ($AFB_1$). The interaction of LAB to HT29 cells has been further investigated to identify the possibility of competing the binding sites with $AFB_1$. Of 14 LAB strains, Lactobacillus casei KCTC 3260 demonstrated the higher adhesiveness to HT29 and $AFB_1$ with the rate of 19.6% and 46.3%, respectively. In competitive analysis for binding sites, the adhesion of L. casei KCTC 3260 to HT29 cells was reduced with 100 nmol $AFB_1$ by 31.2%. The protoplast of L. casei KCTC 3260 showed no binding capacity to HT29 cells with increment of $AFB_1$ concentration, indicating that cell wall components might serve as a critical factor for the binding. To discriminate the major component influencing on L. casei KCTC 3260 binding to HT29 cells and $AFB_1$, four different pre-treatments (lipase, pronase E, sodium m-periodate, and urea) were employed. Of those, sodium m-periodate treatment caused the lower adhesion of L. casei KCTC 3260 to HT29 cells with the increment of $AFB_1$ concentration. These results indicated that carbohydrate moiety on the cell wall of L. casei KCTC 3260 might be the most critical component in binding to both HT29 cells and $AFB_1$.

Effects of High Fat Diet on the Level of Serum Lipids, Glucose and Free-fatty Acid for Soccer Player at the Before and After Game.

  • The goal of this study was to find out the effective diet prescription for the exercises. To accomplish this purpose, we investigated the effect of free-fatty acid diet (FFAD) on two groups of the K technical high school soccer players; one group with 7 members for normal diet (NORD) and another group with 7 members for high-fat diet (HFD). HFD group was fed far three days before the game. Results were as follows: i) Blood glucose level was increased with statistical significance in HFD group (P<.01) compared to the NORD group. After plying game, the glucose level was increased in the both groups ii) The contents of free-fatty acid (FFA) was significantly increased in HFD group (P<.0001) compared to the NORD group. After playing game, the FFA level was also increased in both groups iii) The levels of T-C, HDL-C and LDL-C were slightly increased in both NORD and HFD groups after playing game, while the TG level was slightly decreased. However, the differences were not significant. These results imply that HFD may not affect the level of seam lipids. Overall, the level of glucose and FFA were increased, but other types of lpids were not changed. From these studies, we observed the increase in the level of glucose and FFA but not other sew lipid. These results indicate that HFD may induce the body energy-utilizing system during long-lasting exercise such as playing soccer game.

Addition of Hydroxyapatite to Toothpaste and Its Effect to Dentin Remineralization

  • In this study, hydroxyapatite (HAp) was incorporated into toothpaste and its effect on the remineralization and restoration of dental enamel was evaluated. Different sets of toothpaste were incorporated with HAp levels of 0%, 5%, 10 %, and 15 %. The filler particles of the resulting toothpaste samples were observed via SEM and XRD and compared with compositions of several commercially available toothpastes, showing that the HAp was successfully incorporated into the toothpaste samples. Different sets of human enamel were inflicted with lesions and then treated with the different fabricated toothpaste samples for five minutes three times a day for seven days. During the treatment, the teeth were subjected to demineralization and remineralization cycles to simulate the effect of natural saliva. The surface of the enamel samples were observed using SEM before and after one week of treatment, showing the formation of HAp layers on the surfaces of the enamel samples. The effect of the toothpaste on the lesions was observed using an inverted light microscope and the lesion depth was found to decrease as the concentration of HAp in the toothpaste used increased. HAp was successfully incorporated in the toothpaste and its presence was found to lessen lesion depths and improve tooth remineralization.

스마트 폰 기반의 당뇨병 환자를 위한 개인 맞춤형 식단 관리 시스템 (Smart Phone based Personalized Menu Management System for Diabetes Patient)

  • 당뇨병은 대사질환의 일종으로 고혈당을 특징으로 하며, 고혈당으로 인하여 여러 증상 및 징후와 합병증을 유발하여 삶의 질을 급격히 저하시킨다. 당뇨병의 예방 및 치료를 위해서는 식이, 운동, 약물 처방 등이 있지만 무엇보다도 체계적인 식단 관리가 필수적이다. 본 논문에서는 체계적인 당뇨병 관리를 위해서 스마트폰 기반의 개인 맞춤형 식단 관리 시스템을 제안한다. 현재 대부분의 당뇨병 환자의 식단 서비스는 영양사나 의사의 주관적인 판단으로 식단을 처방하며 상황 및 개인의 선호도는 반영 되지 않는다. 제안하는 시스템은 당뇨식단을 계절, 날씨, 시간, 선호도에 맞추어 제공한다. 특히, 스마트 폰 서비스로 구현하여 언제 어디서나 장소에 제한받지 않고 사용자에게 레시피 및 개인화된 식단을 제공하며, 사용자의 간단한 조작만으로도 손쉽게 식단 변경이 가능하다.
