Simple modification of anthracene for the blue emitting materials

  • Anthracene has been a motive molecule for the blue-emitting materials in OLED. Since the blue emission needs big band gap between HOMO and LUMO, the blue-emitting materials are rare. In this paper, some anthracene derivatives containing simple aryl groups are synthesized and characterized. Regardless of the substituents the absorption and the emission bands are similar to each other and similar to the derivatives with the bulky silyl groups. The thermal and the CIE tests imply that among the tested 9-(2-naphthyl)-10-phenylanthracene is most promising for the diode. The material for the emission layer has to be investigated, which is simple to be prepared as well as good in the electrical and the thermal properties.

  • We report crystallization of a-Si using XeCl excimer laser annealing [1] on the plastic substrate. We tried to obtain higher crystallinity as the effect of $CeO_2$ seed layer patterned. Also, we tried to control the direction of crystallization growth of silicon layer for lateral growth as the type of $CeO_2$ pattern. This crystallization method plays an important role in low temperature poly-Si (LTPS) [2] process and flexible display.

  • Ion shower doping using a source gas of $PH_3/H_2$ was conducted on excimer-laser-annealed (ELA) Poly-Si. As-implanted damage is accumulated more and more with the increase of an acceleration voltage and a doping time. In this study we found that dopant-activation is relatively a rapid kinetic-process while damage-recovery is not.

  • An optical autofocus system for a DUV KrF excimer laser wafer stepper was developed by using the PSD (Position Sensitive Detector) as the position sensor. The laser beam was incident on the surface of wafer and the reflected beam was magnified optically by a lens. And the beam was directed onto the surface of PSD by a mirror system. The spatial resolution of the autofocus system was found to be $0.03{\mu}m$.

  • In this paper, a current-source type parallel indudor compensated load resonant high-frequency soft switching inverter using IGBTs for driving the newly-produced silent discharge type ozone generating tube and excimer lamp for UV generation which incorporate a single switched capacitor resonant snubber between the port in DC busline side is presented, together with its pulse modulated unique output power regulation characteristics.

  • Micromachining using the DPSS 3rd Harmonic Laser (355nm) has outstanding advantages as a UV source in comparison with Excimer lasers in various aspects such as maintenance cost, maskless machining, high repetition rate and so on. It also has the greater absorptivity of many materials in contrast to other IR sources. In this paper, the process for micro-drilling of blind hole in Cu/PI/Cu substrate with the DPSS UV laser and the scanning device is investigated by the experimental methods. It is known that there is a large gap between the ablation threshold of copper and that of PI. We use the Archimedes spiral path for the blind hole with different energy densities to ablate the different material. Finally, the blind via hole of diameter 100$\mu\textrm{m}$ and 50$\mu\textrm{m}$ was drilled.

  • For AMLCD pixel switching device, poly-Si TFT has the advantage of high field effect mobility over a-Si TFT. However, it also has some disadvantage such as large leakage current and more masking steps. We propose a new Inverse Staggered poly-Si TFT with a-Si offset. We have fabricated the new device and verified high ON/OFF current ratio. The device has lower leakage current level than the conventional Inverse Staggered poly-Si TFT and the same number of masking steps compared with conventional a-Si TFT's.

  • Na-K-Nb system showed a number of ferroelectric phases in bulk ceramic. [001]-axis oriented single-phase $Na_{0.5}/K_{0.5}NbO_3$(NKN) thin film have been grown on $LaA1O_3$substrates using KrF excimer laser. X-ray diffraction $\theta$-2$\theta$ scan, rocking curves, and $\varphi$ scan data evidence highly c-axis oriented along the [001] direction.

A Study on In-cylinder Phenomena in a Swirl Type GDI Engine (스월형 GDI 엔진의 연소실내 현상에 관한 연구)

  • For the purpose of development of a GDI engine, the in-cylinder phenomena, such as the spray behaviors, fuel distributions, unburned fuel, and flame characteristics were investigated in a single cylinder GDI engine. The GDI engine was equipped with a swirl type electronic injector and SCV(Swirl Control Valve). PLIF(Planar Laser Induced Fluorescence) system with KrF Excimer laser was used far the measurements of fuel distributions. The effects of the injector specifications, such as the spray cone angle and the offset angle on the in-cylinder phenomena were investigated. As a result, it was found that the injected fuel collided with the bottom of the bowl and moved upward along the exhaust side wall of piston bowl. This fuel vapor played an important role in the instance of spark ignition. The unburned fuel and flame characteristics were greatly influenced by the injector specifications.

  • In this study, quantitative nitric oxide concentration distributions are investigated in the laminar nonpremixed $H_2/N_2$ flames by laser-induced fluorescence (LIF). The measurements are taken in flames for different $N_2$ dilution ratios varying from 20${\sim}$80%, and fuel now rate is fixed as lslpm. The NO A-X (0,0) vibrational band around 226 nm is excited using a XeCl excimer-pumped dye laser. We applied same excitation line used in $CH_4$ premixed flame. Overall, NO concentration was rapidly decreased with $N_2$ addition and we could not measure the concentration any longer for $N_2$ dilution above 80%.
