  • The heat generated at the motor and inverter inside the electric compressor of inverter built-in type is mainly cooled by refrigerant and generally, there is not a thermal problem. However, the close relation of heat transfer from the motor and inverter parts to the compression part affects on compressor efficiency. Also, according to the surrounding environment and system operation condition, the increased temperature of the motor and inverter can affect the power density of the motor system, and especially, the inverter may be prevented to operate by the temperature limits. In this study, we performed thermo-flow analysis of electric compressor motor system, and investigated the heat dissipation enhancement of the motor and inverter. The motor part in the operation region of the electric compressor was generally maintained at low temperature and the inverter part at high compressor speed was lower temperature than the temperature limit of $85^{\circ}C$. However, the case of the inverter at low speed harsh condition was in excess of $10^{\circ}C$. Therefore, in order to solve the thermal problem, the heat reduction technology of the motor and inverter is essential as well as the improvement of flow path in the compressor.

  • In order to meet the current emission regulations (EURO-6), it is necessary to significantly reduce $CH_4$ and $NO_X$ emissions. This study investigated the effect of a reduction in the valve overlap on the combustion and emission characteristics of a hydrogen-compressed natural gas engine under a part-load operating condition. The combustion and emission characteristics were analyzed for each fuel using the original camshaft and an altered camshaft with reduced valve overlap. The results showed that the thermal efficiency was decreased and the fuel flow was increased when using the altered camshaft. The $CO_2$ and $CH_4$ emissions were increased as a result of the reduced thermal efficiency. Under lean operating conditions, the $NO_X$ emission was decreased compared with one of the conventional camshaft. Thus, under the same fuels and operating conditions, it had a harmful influence on the emission characteristics and thermal efficiency.

  • The main idea of this study is to turn attention on the question of good cooling ability of customer substations in large district heating networks. The main reason for that is based on our experience that the optimization of district heating very often is directed toward production, whereas questions of optimal distribution are neglected if only the necessary load can be supplied and the customer's request for comfort is met. Our view is that low return temperature(operational temperature differences, ${\Delta}T$) in district heating systems is an Important feature for efficient net operation and gives both economic and operational benefits to the district heating supplier Furthermore, it is as well a prerequisite for meeting the customers demand for reliable supply of the heat load. However, in many practical cases we have seen that district heating return temperatures are higher than necessary. Hence, the aim of the study is to propose and verify a method for detection of the most critical consumers of the net and to identify the reasons for resulting high return temperature. From the results, temperature control system is presented as one of the most important reason of high return temperature in DH networks.

  • In this research, when the output of the standard coal-fired thermal power plant operating continuously at the rated output of 500 MW is changed to operate at 300 to 500 MW, the amount of sulfur oxide produced and the amount of sulfur oxide in the absorption tower of desulfurization equipment and proposed an extra liquid to gas ratio improvement inversely proportional to the output. In order to calibrate the combustion efficiency at low power, the ratio of sulfur oxides relative to the amount of combustion gas is increased as the excess air ratio is increased. When the concentration of sulfur oxide at the inlet of the desulfurization absorber was changed from 300 to 500 ppm along with the output fluctuation. The liquid to gas ratio of limestone slurry and combustion gas was changed from 10.99 to 16.27. Therefore, if the concentration of sulfur oxides with output of 300 MW is x, The following correlation equation is recommended for the minimum required flow rate of slurry for the reduction of surplus energy due to the increase of the liquid weight at low load. $y1[m^3/sec]=0.11x+3.74$
