  • This paper has focused on the development of an educational sensor network (ESN) based on wireless sensor networks(WSN) and pervasive monitoring systems for students' activity during scientific experiments. A number of WSN systems have been proposed with integrated wireless transmission, mounted sensor boards and local processing. However, there is no trail to employ WSN on the educational field. In this paper, to facilitate research and development using wireless sensor network and multi-sensor data fusion, the educational sensor network (ESN) hardware development platform is presented. The ESN project is conducted over one semester time period (Spring Semesters). It involves approximately twenty middle school students who enrolled a gifted program in Kongju National University. Though under prepared, these students are in general highly motivated to learning specially when presented with the ESN project. An ESN project such as this is expected to provide an excellent means for teaching and learning scientific and mathematical principles.

  • The architectural design of student circulation space has a pronounced influence on the educational function of a school building. Recent curriculum and new teaching methods have required the sufficient space provided for circulation and various circulation spaces in a school building, such as elevator, pilotis, bridge, atrium, deck, lobby and locker room. However excessive circulation space is wasteful form the standpoint of both initial investment and operation. This study aims to investigate new circulation patterns and functions, and to propose the adequate size in planning a school corridor. For this purpose, it explores the recent trends of the corridor planning represented in the excellent school facilities in 2002. and analyzes the newly-added functions In the school corridor : architectural in-between space, dwelling space for ordinary activities, space for educational media and auxiliary learning space. This research recommends that the corridor width be carefully planned according to the supposed functions in order to achieve the efficiency in the design of school facilities.

  • Facial expression recognition can aid in the development of fatigue driving detection, teaching quality evaluation, and other fields. In this study, a facial expression recognition method was proposed with a residual masking reconstruction network as its backbone to achieve more efficient expression recognition and classification. The residual layer was used to acquire and capture the information features of the input image, and the masking layer was used for the weight coefficients corresponding to different information features to achieve accurate and effective image analysis for images of different sizes. To further improve the performance of expression analysis, the loss function of the model is optimized from two aspects, feature dimension and data dimension, to enhance the accurate mapping relationship between facial features and emotional labels. The simulation results show that the ROC of the proposed method was maintained above 0.9995, which can accurately distinguish different expressions. The precision was 75.98%, indicating excellent performance of the facial expression recognition model.

  • The purpose of this study is to build up the expert system with more subdivided qualifications and improved qualities with the development of the security industry. And also it is to analyze a survey measuring how satisfied they are with curriculum, teaching faculty, educational administration, facilities among 439 private guards completing a course in Korea private guard educational institution and registered in the National Police Agency in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Chungcheong, Gyeongsang, Jeolla province. For this, SPSS(Statistical Packages for Social Science) 15.0 Version was adapted to analyze and other analysis methods used for this study are like these: frequency, reliability analysis, regressive analysis, moderated multiple regression, post hoc test for categorizing the performance changes, looking into the characteristics, examining closely job performance, intention to quit one's job, and inquiring into the influence how satisfaction measurement at education training satisfaction makes on carrying out one's job. Firstly, The Effect Satisfaction at The Program has on Performing One's Duty With respect to job performance, curriculum, educational administration, teaching abilities have positive influences on it. On the other hand, with respect to quitting one's job, curriculum just makes positive effects on leaving one's work statistically. It indicates that systematic and effective curriculum, administration, teaching faculty or contents with high quality rather than just education facilities would make the task performance excellent and satisfaction at the program well in regards to making effects on the task performance. Secondly, The Effect Satisfaction at The Program has on Performing One's Duty with Social Supports Despite being the fact that statistically any strong correlation between curriculum and social supports, one between education facilities and social supports, one between teaching abilities and social supports, and one between educational administration and social supports do not have influences on carrying out job performance, it turns out that satisfaction at the program and social supports make positive effects on performing one's task. In conclusion, the entire social system and support need to be improved and some institutions appropriate for satisfaction at the program should be established as soon as possible.

  • The aim of this study is to make it sure how pupils' science inquiry skills and attitude are influenced when they are taught by using the work-sheets for the differentiated learning according to their ability. In order to accomplish this aim, two classes of the fourth grade in the elementary school were distinguished into two groups: one was the experimental class and the other, the comparative class. The experimental class was given 52 hours of science lessons using the above sheets, and the comparative class, the general method of teaching. In order to compare their scientific interest and learning ability of the two groups each other, pupils were tested the standardized achievement in advance. The two groups were also given "ex post facto test" to measure the variation of their inquiry skills and attitude after the lessons. In addition, the experimental class was tested to measure their learning attitude after they are teamed the science with the sheets. The results of this study are as follows: 1. According to the percentile statistics of the science inquiry skills test between the two groups, the work-sheets for the differentiated teaming helped pupils develope their inquiry skills remarkably. 2. The work-sheets did not lead to significant difference between the learning ability of boys and girls. 3. The science lesson using the work-sheets showed positive influences in increasing pupils' scientific attitude. 4. About 77.2 percent of pupils accepted the excellent records of the evaluation in the science lesson using the sheets. It can be, therefore, concluded that the science lesson using the work-sheets for differentiated teaming is one of effective science lessons to increasing pupils' science inquiry skills, compared with the general teaching method.
