In this paper, the performances of wireless asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) cell transmission in mobile work are analyzed. We adopt 16Star QAM as amodulation technique in wireless channel and considered Reed-Solomon, convolutional, and concatenated coding to improve the error rate performances, and also proposed the Partial Concatenated Coding (PCC) technique as UEP(unequal error protection) code for efficient transmission of ATM cell in the air interface. We consider Doppler's effect, Rician fading, and diversity technique of maximal-ratio combining (MRC) for mobile channel model. For performance measure, we analyze bit error rate, ATM cell loss probability, ATM cell error probability, and network performances of ATM cell transmission delay and throughput. The numerical results show that the adoption of PCC is a prospective way for the evolution of future wireless ATM network on mobile environment.
The effect of MgO in synthesis of alinite clinker was investigated. Clinker of alinite composition ratio and alintite clinker substituted for MgO of 3.77% were sintered at $760^{\circ}C$ and between $800^{\circ}C$ and $1,400^{\circ}C$ at the interval of $100^{\circ}C$. Synthesized phases and hydration heat of alinite clinker with MgO and without MgO were then investigated. As a result, alinite, CCA, ${\beta}-C_2S$ and f-CaO phases are synthesized in alinite clinker without MgO sintered at $1,300^{\circ}C$, while only alinite phase is synthesized in alinite clinker with MgO sintered at $1,300^{\circ}C$ with the highest synthesis rate. Heat evolution of alinite clinker with MgO has no induction period.
The percentage of watercore occurrence harvested on Nov. 6 (commercial harvest season) was over 80% but fruits seemed not to reach climacteric stage on the basis of ethylene evolution. The occurrence ratio and severity of watercore gradually decreased with the increase of preshipment storage for 2 months. The level of soluble solids did not show a clear tendency during preshipment storage but flesh firmness, fresh weight, and acidity gradually decreased. Although the overall quality of fruit reduced along with the increase of preshipment storage duration after exposure to retail condition at ambient temperature for 1 week, plastic film wrapping (PE 30 um) as well as plastic film wrapping plus ethylene scrubbing had a benefit on keeping freshness of fruit even after retail condition. Waxed fruit showed excellent appearance but browning disorder was developed. Results indicated that moisture barrier such as plastic film wrapping and ethylene removal have a great potential on keeping freshness of fruit during export which required long-term transport under low humidity environment.
There is accumulating evidence for a strong link between nuclear starbursts and AGN. Molecular gas in the central regions of galaxies plays a critical role in fueling nuclear starburst activity and feeding central AGN. The dense molecular ISM is accreted to the nuclear regions by stellar bars and galactic interactions. Here we describe recent observational results for the OB star forming regions in M51 and the nuclear star burst in Arp 220 - both of which have approximately the same rate of star formation per unit mass of ISM. We suggest that the maximum efficiency for forming young stars is an Eddington-like limit imposed by the radiation pressure of newly formed stars acting on the interstellar dust. This limit corresponds to approximately 500 $L_{\bigodot} / M_{\bigodot}$ for optically thick regions in which the radiation has been degraded to the NIR. Interestingly, we note that some of the same considerations can be important in AGN where the source of fuel is provided by stellar evolution mass-loss or ISM accretion. Most of the stellar mass-loss occurs from evolving red giant stars and whether their mass-loss can be accreted to a central AGN or not depends on the radiative opacity of the mass-loss material. The latter depends on whether the dust survives or is sublimated (due to radiative heating). This, in turn, is determined by the AGN luminosity and the distance of the mass-loss stars from the AGN. Several AGN phenomena such as the broad emission and absorption lines may arise in this stellar mass-loss material. The same radiation pressure limit to the accretion may arise if the AGN fuel is from the ISM since the ISM dust-to-gas ratio is the same as that of stellar mass-loss.

The common-envelope process is a complicated phase in binary evolution. A lot of effort has been dedicated to study the common-envelope stage, but many questions related to this process are yet to be answered. If one member of the binary survives the common-envelope phase, the binary will emerge as a white dwarf accompanied by a low-mass main sequence star in close orbit, often referred as a post common-envelope binary (PCEB). SDSS J0745+2631 is among the list of newly found PCEBs from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS). This star is proposed to be a strong eclipsing system candidate due to the ellipsoidal modulation in its light curve. In this work, we aim to confirm the eclipsing nature of SDSS J0745+2631 and to determine the stellar and orbital parameters using the software Binary Maker 3.0 (BM3.0). We detected the primary eclipse in the light curve of SDSS J0745+2631 in our follow-up observation from January 2014 using the ULTRASPEC instrument at the Thai National Observatory. The data obtained on 7th and 8th January 2014 in g filter show an evident drop in brightness during the eclipse of the white dwarf, but this eclipse is less prominent in the data taken on the next night using a clear filter. According to our preliminary model, we find that SDSS J0745+2631 hosts a rather hot white dwarf with an effective temperature of 11500K. The companion star is a red dwarf star with a temperature of 3800K and radius of 0.3100 $R_{\odot}$. The red dwarf star almost fills its Roche lobe, causing a large ellipsoidal modulation. The mass ratio of the binary given by the Binary Maker 3.0 (BM3.0) model is M2/M1 = 0.33.
We investigated the composition dependence of the tunneling magnetoresistance (TMR) behavior and the stability of the magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs) with TiAlOx barrier and the microstructural evolution of TiAl alloy films. The TMR ratio increased up to $49\%$ at $5.33\;at\%$ Ti. In addition, a significant tunneling magnetoresistance (TMR) value of $20\%$ was maintained after annealing at $450^{\circ}C$, and the breakdown voltage ($V_B$) of and 1.35 V were obtained in the MTJ with $5.33\;at\%$ Ti-alloyed AlOx barrier. These results were closely related to the enhanced quality of the barrier material microstructure in the pre-oxidation state. Ti alloying enhanced the barrier/electrode interface uniformity and reduced microstructural defects. These structural improvements enhanced not only the TMR effect but also the thermal and electrical stability of the MTJs.

A majority of 4G Mobile communication manufacturers have launched separated-type base stations composed of DU (digital unit) and RU (ratio unit). DUs are usually installed in the central office, while RUs with antennas are installed on the top of building or pole. Therefore, the allowable distance between DU and RU is very important for cell planning. In this paper, we analyze the allowable distance between DU and RU induced by closed-loop MIMO (mulitple input multiple output) technology in 4G FDD (frequency division duplexing) mobile communication systems. In conclusion, the distance limit between DU and RU is dependent on the frequency of the wireless communication, and the allowable distance is about 11 km when assuming the operating frequency is 2 GHz.

Long Term Evolution device-to-device (LTE D2D) is a key technology to mitigate data traffic load in a cellular system. It facilitates direct data exchange between neighboring users, which is preceded by D2D discovery. Each device advertises its presence to neighboring devices by broadcasting its discovery message. In this paper, we develop a mathematical analysis to assess the probability that discovery messages are successfully transmitted at the D2D discovery stage. We make use of stochastic geometry for modeling spatial statistics of nodes in a two dimensional space. It reflects signal to noise plus interference ratio (SINR) degradation due to resource collision and in-band emission, which leads to the discovery message reception probability being modeled as a function of the distance between the transmitter and the receiver. Numerical results verify that the newly developed analysis accurately estimates discovery message reception probabilities of nodes at the D2D discovery stage.

Gas-phase hydrogen atoms create a variety of chemical and physical phenomena on Si surfaces: adsorption, abstraction of pre-adsorbed H, Si etching, Si amorphization, and penetration into the bulk lattice. Thermal desorption/evolution analyses exhibited three distinct peaks, including one from the crystalline bulk. It was previously found that thermal-energy gaseous H(g) atoms penetrate into the Si(100) crystalline bulk within a narrow substrate temperature window(centered at ~460K) and remain trapped in the bulk lattice before evolving out at a temperature as high as ~900K. Developing and sustaining atomic-scale surface roughness, by H-induced silicon etching, is a prerequisite for H absorption and determines the $T_s$ windows. Issues on the H(g) absorption to be further clarified are: (1) the role of the detailed atomic surface structure, together with other experimental conditions, (2) the particular physical lattice sites occupied by, and (3) the chemical nature of, absorbed H(g) atoms. This work has investigated and compared the thermal H(g) atom absorptivity of Si(100), Si(111) and Si(110) samples in detail by using the temperature programmed desorption mass spectrometry (TPD-MS). Due to the differences in the atomic structures of, and in the facility of creating atom-scale etch pits on, Si(100), (100) and (110) surfaces, the H-absorption efficiency was found to be larger in the order of Si(100) > Si(111) > Si(110) with a relative ratio of 1 : 0.22 : 0.045. This intriguing result was interpreted in terms of the atomic-scale surface roughening and kinetic competition among H(g) adsorption, H(a)-by-H(g) abstraction, $SiH_3(a)$-by-H(g) etching, and H(g) penetraion into the crystalline silicon bulk.
Salmonella (S.) Typhimurium infection in pigs is a major source of human foodborne salmonellosis. Recently, the swine industry in Korea has been suffered from salmonellosis causing severe economic loss to farms. Organic acids have antibacterial activity which prevents bacteria from multiplying by reducing the pH in the gastrointestinal tract. The aim of the present study is to evaluate whether $Salstop^{(R)}$ mixed with organic acids is able to have influence on growth performance and whether it prevents against S. Typhimurium in weaning pigs. Four experimental treatments were examined: general diet added with 0.3% of $Salstop^{(R)}$ after S. Typhimurium ($1.0{\times}10^{10}CFU/ml$) challenge, group A; commercial feed after Salmonella ($1.0{\times}10^{10}CFU/ml$) challenge, group B; commercial feed and $Salstop^{(R)}$, group C; commercial feed, Group D. At the end of the study, no significant differences in daily body weight gain and feed intake were observed between groups treated with $Salstop^{(R)}$ and groups treated without, whereas feed conversion ratio (FCR) tended to be improved in groups treated with $Salstop^{(R)}$ between days 1 to 14. Serological and microbiological evolution of the infection were examined by ELISA and microbiological culture from serums and fecal samples, respectively. In groups that challenged by S. Typhimuriums, the group without $Salstop^{(R)}$ showed higher prevalence and bacterial shedding compared to the groups treated with $Salstop^{(R)}$. Our results suggest that the administration of $Salstop^{(R)}$ could be used to promote feed efficiency and to reduce the prevalence of salmonellosis in weaners.
