Accidents during ground excavation and temporary or permanent structure construction have always occurred regardless of how much technology improved. Many causes can be derived from various cases and technical revision has always been a matter of interest to the geotechnicians. But the legal procedures that follow the construction accidents have scarcely been studied by the geotechnical society even though it influences most on the everyday lives of the parties of interest. In this respect, this paper describes the current judicial system, law and legal practices for ground excavation related accidents along with several case studies on judicial precedents and presents methods that should be taken to improve the current judicial system.

Rehabilitation medicine is an area which tries to help people who have physical inconvenience in everyday activities to live like healthy people as much as possible by training programs. As society gets more advanced and as the standard of living continuously rises, the need of the "Rehabilitation medicine" is also increasing. Also as we are entering into the aging society, especially geriatric rehabilitation medicine is getting more and more attention as a method to maintain the healthy lives of the elders. However, the standards related to medical care space for rehabilitation medicine is not thoroughly prepared. Although requirement for geriatric hospital is increasing, the standard of geriatric hospital is not following up to regulate them properly. Therefore, in this study, I will propose a 'suitable planning' needed in geriatric rehabilitation by analyzing the rehabilitation sections of 5 general hospitals and 1 geriatric hospital.

Sustainability is becoming more and more important in our everyday lives. Thus, it is apparent that more sustainable initiatives are incorporated in a building design concept to reduce operation costs and environmental impacts. However, will the construction cost go up if the building is going green - especially if it is a tall building? This is the question on everyone's mind. In the following paragraphs, we will look into a case study of a skyscraper in Nanning, China. That 411-metre skyscraper, Nanning China Resources Centre East Office Tower, is currently under construction. Designed to LEED-CS Gold standards, the building has adopted a number of sustainable design elements and operation practice, which indeed only accounts for a small percentage of the total construction cost.

The purpose of this study was to examine the social support network for divorced single mother families. The data were gathered through in-depth interviews with seven divorced single mothers who had at least one school-age child. Qualitative analysis of data showed that divorced single mothers evaluated themselves based on other people's perception. There were mainly three different kinds of self-images, which were “a competent divorced woman,” “a bad child to my parents,” and “a socially weak person.” We also found that there were two factors that influenced the everyday lives of single mothers: all of them .;offered hardships in living as a divorced woman with children, and they also had to deal with the weakened solidarity with family of origin, relatives, and neighbors. Single mothers shared common problems yet their lifestyles and adjustment strategies were diverse. Therefore, diverse social welfare policies for education and counseling for single mothers are urgently needed to support and empower divorced single mothers.

This study intended to be designed at the level of furniture users' eyes for the users in designing furniture. Children's furniture follows parents' point of view mostly because the parents purchase the pieces for their children. Most of the children's furniture tends to rule out their psychological phenomenon and behavioral development. Therefore, children's furniture must be designed for children to be able to learn through their cognitive development and creative learning experience from having fun naturally by using the pieces combining with the typical play in their everyday lives like coloring, puzzling, and acting with movement.

This study explored the theoretical context of postmodern aesthetics in experiencing art/craft/handmade/studio furniture for 'wood culture experience class' or 'wood love experience class', which has been recently carried out by the Korea Forest Service and is apt to focus on making simple wood work just involved in the practical part. Qualitative conceptual analysis as the principal methodology was used to achieve the theoretical context in the experience programs. I developed the lesson for an aesthetics of art and everyday life with wood furniture which expresses the metaphorical aesthetics appeared as New Design furniture in postmodernism. As statement of objective in the lesson, I explored that students in elementary schools personally understand and define the postmodern aesthetics of New Design furniture as metaphor. As a result, the students will be able to define and identify New Design furniture as metaphor in their lives.

At a time when mathematics is becoming more important in our everyday lives and more relevant in applications in industry and the emerging technologies, there are signs of a decrease in numbers of students and their interest in the subject. Teachers must be encouraged to take a new approach to generating enthusiasm amongst students by showing them that mathematics is an integral part of the future. To achieve this, opportunities for renewal of teachers' knowledge and updating of skills should be made available. In this paper, emphasis is placed on mathematics in the real world and how it can be used to develop the more general skills such as self-teaching and communication which are an essential part of preparation for entry into higher education or the workplace.

The main purpose of this study is to understand how cognitive factors influence the way people interact with information/information systems, by conducting comprehensive and in-depth literature reviews and a theoretical synthesis of related research. Adaptive systems have been built around an individual user's characteristics, such as interests, preferences, knowledge and goals. Individual differences in the ability to use new information and communication technology have been an important issue in all fields. Performance differences in utilizing new information and communication technology are sufficiently predictable that we can begin to coordinate them. Therefore, it is necessary to understand cognitive mechanisms to explain differences between individuals as well as the levels of performance. The theoretical synthesis from this study can be applied to design intelligent (i.e., human friendly) systems in our everyday lives. Further research should explore optimization design for user, by integrating user's individual traits (such as emotion and intent) and system modules to improve the interactions of human-system in data-driven environments.

The impacts that AI and robotics systems can and will have on our everyday lives are already making themselves manifest. However, there is a lack of research on the ethical impacts and means for amelioration regarding AI and robotics within tourism and hospitality. Given the importance of designing technologies that cross national boundaries, and given that the tourism and hospitality industry is fundamentally predicated on multicultural interactions, this is an area of research and application that requires particular attention. Specifically, tourism and hospitality have a range of context-unique stakeholders that need to be accounted for in the salient design of AI systems is to be achieved. This paper adopts a stakeholder approach to develop the conceptual framework to centralize human values in designing and deploying AI and robotics systems in tourism and hospitality. The conceptual framework includes several layers - 'Human-human-AI' interaction level, direct and indirect stakeholders, and the macroenvironment. The ethical issues on each layer are outlined as well as some possible solutions to them. Additionally, the paper develops a research agenda on the topic.

In modern times, text has become an image, and typography is a style that is a combination of image and text that can be easily encountered in everyday life. It is developing not only for the purpose of conveying meaningful communication, but also to bring joy and beauty to our lives as a medium with aesthetic format. This study shows through case analysis that typography is a tool for expressing human emotions, and investigates its characteristics that change along with the media. In particular, interactive communication tools and methods used by interactive typography to express viewers' emotions are described in detail. We created interactive typography using the inputted text, the selected music by the viewer and the viewer's movement. As a result of applying it to the exhibition, we could confirm that interactive typography can function as an effective communication medium that shows the utility of both the iconography of letter signs and the cognitive function when combined with the audience's intentional motion.
