외식 기업의 특성을 고려한 재무 비율과 경영 성과간의 관계에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Correlation between Financial Ratio and Operating Performance Considering the Characteristics of Foodservice Companies)

  • 본 연구는 금융감독원 전자공시시스템에 공시된 기업의 재무제표를 활용하여 외식 기업의 재무 비율과 경영 성과의 관계를 파악하고자 하였다. 재무 비율은 재무제표의 두 계정을 조합하여 비율을 계산하여 경영 성과를 제시하는 지표로써, 경영자와 채권자 그리고 투자자는 해당 기업의 재무제표를 평가하기 위한 방법으로 비율 분석을 각기 다른 목적으로 사용하고 있다. 재무 비율과 경영 성과에 대한 분석에 의하면, 상장된 음식료업종 기업은 이자 보상 배율을 제외한 전 부분에서 상관 관계를 보였지만, 외식 기업은 안정성 비율과 성장성비율에 한정해서 상관 관계를 보여주었다. 이와 같은 차이에 근거하여 외식 기업의 경영자는 부채와 자산에 대한 관리와 더불어 비용에 대한 효과적이고 계획적인 관리를 통하여 경영 성과를 개선하여야 할 것이다.

Molecular pathological interactions between Apple stem grooving virus (ASGV) and its fungi.

  • Apple stem grooving virus (ASGV) belongs to Capillovirus and infects pome fruits. Transmission mode of ASGV is known by grafting and mechanical inoculation into susceptible hosts, not by any other natural vectors. But we have observed the spread of ASGV in the field without mechanical inoculation or grafting. Transmission seems to be occurred from tree-to-tree and tree-to-susceptible herbaceous plants along but not across ditches in the field. In order to ascertain this possibility, various fungi were isolated and cultured from ASGV-infected plants and 69 isolates were characterized. By means of RNA dot-blot hybridization and PCR analysis, 3 isolates were sorted out for further studies. The isolates were identified to Tataromyces sp. and belonged to Phenicillium by morphological characteristics and molecular markers. As an experimental host, 10 kidney beans (Phaseolus vulgaris) were screened and Kyunggi-5 was selected for virus amplification and symptom development. Kyunggj-5 infected by fungi which seemed to carry ASGV showed the typical disease symptoms and viral coat protein genes were detected from all tested plants. To confirm the Koch's rule, fungi cultured from inoculation origins of kidney bean were grown on PDA media and re-inoculated to hosts. The fungi isolated from inoculation origins induced the typical disease symptoms on hosts. However virus free fungi did not induce any symptom on the experimental hosts. This bioassay showed that these typical symptoms were caused by virus, not fungi.

병원급식서비스의 질 인식에 대한 입원환자와 종사자간 괴리 분석 (A Gap Analysis between Inpatients' and Personnel's Perception of Hospital Foodservice Quality)

  • The purposes of this study were to analyze the gap between foodservice personnel and inpatients, to urge foodservice providers to reconsider by identifying the problems in service delivery for customer satisfaction, and to deduce the priority for foodservice quality improvement. The results of this study can be summarized as follows : the average perception score of personnel (4.32 out of 5) was higher than that of customers (3.90). In particular, the customers' perceptions of 17 attributes, which included 'removal service of tray by foodservice personnel', 'nutrition and health-related information service', 'handling inpatient's complaint ASAP', 'delicious meals' and 'salty enough meals' and so on, was significantly lower than personnel's. Both service providers and customers perceived that 'personnel attitude' was the highest and 'meal quality' was the lowest among the 4 factors, but there was significant difference on 'meal quality'(p < .001), 'customer reception' (p < .001) and 'personnel attitude' (p < .05) between the two groups. As a results of quadrant analysis, 'removal service of tray by foodservice personnel', 'handling inpatient's complaints ASAP' and 'meal service according to doctor's orders were categorized into Quadrant A with meaning of high personnel's perceptions and low customers'. Therefore service providers have to perceive the gap between the two viewpoints and grant priority to these attributes in improving foodservice qualify. 비탈면 녹화용(綠化用) 재료(材料)로서 산림(山林) 표층토(表層土)의 적정(滴定) 채취시기(採取時期) 및 이용방법(利用方法) (The Optimal Collecting Time and Methods of Utilization of Forest Topsoil as Revegetation Materials of Slopes)

  • This study was conducted to determine the optimal collecting time and methods of utilization of forest topsoil as a seed-bank source for revegetation materials of slopes. From April to November of 1998, nursery seedbeds in the greenhouse of Seoul National University were seeded with mixtures of forest topsoil and seeds. The nursery seedbeds were treated to evaluate the effect of depths of forest topsoil and seeding amounts. Seasonal experiments with $3{\times}3$ factorial design were conducted in April, June and August. More than 40 seedlings/$m^2$ were observed as the naturally-emerged species in the plot, treated with the top-layer forest soil within the depth of 10cm. However, it was found, as seeding more seeds, the number of appearance of the naturally-emerged species reduced because of the heavy competition between the seeded and the naturally-emerged. According to the results of this research, it is recommended that seeding amount should be no more than 1,000 seeds/$m^2$ to avoid the severe competition. Also it was observed that the forest topsoil collected in spring(April) is better than that collected in summer. The more species of the naturally-emerged were found in the forest topsoil collected in spring. Forest-topsoil-mixed-materials as a seed-bank source could significantly increase the plant diversity and productivity. Effective use of forest topsoil as a seed-bank source may become a valuable tool in future restoration of disturbed slopes for promoting plant community diversity and recycling of spoiled-soils from the slopes.

동물원 영장류에서 외인성 질환에 의한 폐사원인 분석 (Retrospective Survey on the Mortality by Extrinsic Disease in Non-human Primates at Zoological Gardens)

  • In Everland Zoological Gardens, the mortality by extrinsic cause in non-human primates during 1976∼1999 were retrospectively analyzed based on the clinical charts and/or autopsy reports. The number of deaths from extrinsic factor was 61 among a total of 161 monkeys which were died during that period. Among 61 monkeys of death from extrinsic factor, the number at a detailed cause were as follows: strangulation, 17(27.87%); accident fall, 15(24.59%); suffocation, 13(21.31%); drowning, 7(11.48%); death from pressure, 2(3.28%); collision, 2(3.28%); sunstroke, 1(64%); starvation, 1(1.64%); freezing to death, 1(1.64%); contusion, 1(1.64%). The number of deaths from extrinsic factor was 39 among a total of 81 squirrel monkeys which were died during that period. Among 39 squirrel monkeys of death from extrinsic factor, the number at a detailed cause were as follows; suffocation, 11(28.21%); accident fall, 8(20.51%); strangulation, 7(17.95%); drowning, 7(17.95%); death from pressure, 2(5.13%); starvation, 1(2.56%); collision, 1(2.56%). The number of deaths from extrinsic factor was 14 among a total of 50 Japanese macaque died during that period. Among 14 Japanese macaque from extrinsic factor, the number at a detailed cause were as follows; strangulation, 7(50.55%); accident fall, 6(42.85%); suffocation, 1(7.14%). It was considered that far facilities, adequate space and suitable indoor temperature are needed for the prevention of deaths of extrinsic cause at the monkey raising in zoological gardens or research center.

주제공원 이용자들의 선택행동 연구 -Constraints-Induced Conjoint Choice Model의 적용- (A Study on the Theme Park Users' Choice behavior -Application of Constraints-Induced Conjoint Choice Model-)

  • The importance of constraints has been one of major issues in recreation for prediction of choice behavior; however, traditional conjoint choice model did not consider the effects of these variables or fail to integrate them into choice model adequately. The purposes of this research are (a) to estimate the effects of constraints in theme park choice behavior by the constraints-induced conjoint choice model, and (b) to test additional explanatory power of the additional constraints in this suggested model against the more parsimonious traditional model. A leading polling agency was employed to select respondents. Both alternative generating and choice set generating fractional factorial design were conducted to meet the necessary and sufficient conditions for calibration of the constraints-induced conjoint choice model. Th alternative-specific model was calibrated. The log-likelihood ratio test revealed that suggested model was accepted in the favor of the traditional model, and the goodness-of-fit($\rho$$^2$) of suggested and traditional model was 0.48427 and 0.47950, respectively. There was no difference between traditional and suggested model in estimates of attribute levels of car and shuttle bus because alternatives were created to estimate the effects of constraints independently from mode related variables. Most parameters values of constraints had the expected sign and magnitude: the results reflected the characteristics of the theme parks, such as abundance of natural attractions and poor accessibility in Everland, location of major fun rides indoor in Lotte World, city park like characteristics of Dream Land, and traffic jams in Seoul. Instead of the multinomial logit model, the nested logit model is recommended for future researches because this model more reasonably reflects the real decision-making process in park choice. Development of new methodology too integrate this hierarchical decision-making into choice model is anticipated.

위탁급식업체 규모에 따른 급식관리자 직무만족에 영향을 미치는 개인, 급식소 및 조직특성 분석 (Identifying the Effect of Personal, Foodservice and Organizational Characteristics on Foodservice Managers' Job Satisfaction by the Contract Management Company Scale)

  • The purpose of the study was to investigate the influences of contract foodservice managers' personal characteristics, foodservice characteristics and organizational characteristics on job satisfaction, including interpersonal relationships, self-actualization and promotion opportunity categories. A survey was administered to four hundred contract foodservice managers of five large companies and five small/medium companies in the Seoul and Kyungin areas. The final response rate was 66%(N=265), and the data were analyzed using SPSS Windows(ver. 12.0). The respondents were 76.1% female, average age 28.8 years, and 73.0% were regular workers. Contract foodservices have profit and loss contracts(69.1%), single menu types(59.6%) and buffet serving styles(37.7%). There are significant differences of job satisfaction by some personal characteristic variables(gender, martial status, age, education, position, work hours, period of working for the present company, and payroll per year) and foodservice characteristic variables(type of contract and charge of food costs). In three job satisfaction categories, foodservice managers reported the highest interpersonal relationship satisfaction, following self-actualization satisfaction and promotion opportunity satisfaction in both large companies and small/medium companies. However, foodservice managers of large companies tended to be more satisfied regarding their promotion opportunities than foodservice managers of small/medium companies(p<0.05). Work hours, number of meals served/day, male, workload, communication with the clients, relationship with co-workers, obvious role and autonomy were significant factors to increase the job satisfaction in contract foodservices of large companies. On the other hand, relationships with co-workers and males were significant factors to increase the job satisfaction in contract foodservices of small/medium companies. This research suggests that contract foodservice companies need to understand the characteristics of their managers, foodservices and organizations to enhance the job satisfaction of foodservice managers and to develop specified human resource management strategies that can be applied to each company scale.

Removal of Hydrogen Sulfide, Ammonia, and Benzene by Fluidized Bed Reactor and Biofilter

  • In this study, hydrogen sulfide ($H_2S$), ammonia ($NH_3$), and benzene, which represent the major odor from a natural leather process plant, were removed using a fluidized bed bioreactor and biofilter including Thiobacillus sp. IW and a MY microbial consortium. The critical removal rate was $12g m^{-3}h^{-1}\;for\;H_2S,\;11g m^{-3}h^{-1}\;for\;NH_3\;and\;28 g m^{-3}h^{-1}$ for benzene by the fluidized bed bioreactor, and $8.5g m^{-3}h^{-1}\;for\;H_2S\;7g m^{-3}h^{-1}\;for\;NH_3,\;and\;25 g m^{-3}h^{-1}$ for benzene in the biofilter. The average removal efficiency of $H_2S$, $NH_3$, and benzene by continuous operation for over 30 days with the fluidized bed bioreactor was $95{\pm}3\%,\;99{\pm}1\%,\;and\;98{\pm}5\%$, respectively, whereas that with the biofilter was $96{\pm}4\%,\;95{\pm}4\%,\;and\;97{\pm}3\%$, respectively. Therefore, the critical removal rate of $H_2S$, $NH_3$, and benzene was higher in the fluidized bed bioreactor, whereas the removal efficiency on the continuous operation was similar in both bioreactors.

Environmentally Sound and Sustainable Dam Construction in Asia (Hantan River Dam in Korea)

  • Theses days, there are 3 prerequisites for dam building in Korea: First one is how to build the dam safe and stable from the technical points of view. Second one is how to design and construct the dam environmentally sound with the minimum change of the surrounding area of the dam site. Third one is how to activate the local economy of the surrounding area of the dam site in order to make the dam construction sustainable from the social and economical points of view. As far as technical aspects far dam building, there are hardly any problems in dam design and construction in our country. However, there are a little difficulty according to the location of the dam site. In order to fulfill the second option it is believed that a lot of effort should be made to accomplish the second task not only because that fairly large area shall be inundated with water after impounding but also because that ecological environments shall be changed due to change of water environment. Therefore, thoughtful investigation and assessment of the environmental features of the local regions have to be preceded before starting of the dam building. In order to overcome these difficulties Hantan river dam has been declared as an Eco-dam with 3 strategies and 9 activities plan at the design stage after sufficient consideration of the local identities of these region and coupled national plans for surrounding areas. Finally, Eco-tourism with the several coupled network-wise touristic courses, namely PERTH model, has been proposed after thorough analysis of the local identities by the Jahari window to make local economy being activated. Detailed descriptions for 3 strategies and 9 activities plan for declaration of Eco-dam and proposal of Eco-tourism with the network-wise touristic courses will be mentioned in the main content.

An Analysis of Vegetation Status in an Urban Natural Park -Focus on Seoo Royal Tomb-

  • Recently there have been increasing demands and desire for the urban open space due to urban development or environmental deterioration. Urban natural parks in Seoul provide citizens with comfortable open space and thus play an important role as learning spaces to experience nature and understand the environment. Accordingly, this study aims to analyze existing vegetation and provide basic data for the conservation and management plans of urban natural parks and education programs. The contents of the study encompass natural environment such as topography, altitude, slope and aspect and botanical ecosystem including the structure of plant communities and tree growth. According to the result of topography analysis, the overall altitude was not high but the slope was relative steep. Vegetation of Seoo Royal Tomb, a urban natural park has been classified into 12 types, and they include; Quercus acutissima community(lowland type), Quercus acutissima community(valley type), quercus variabilis community, Quercus mongolica community, Castanea crenata community, Capinus laxiflora community, Pinus densiflora community(lowland type), Pinus densiflora community(slope type), Robinia pseudo-acacia community, Populos$\times$albaglandulosa community, Pinus rigida community, and Pinus koraiensis community. Based on the survey and analysis results, we have classified the study area into conservation, buffer, and utilization zones for the effective management. This study provides basic data to support the establishment of master plans for urban natural parks by analyzing vegetation conditions at Seoo Royal Tomb, an urban natural park, Based on the results presented in the study, consistent monitoring work needs to be conducted, and elaborate management plans also should be prepared.
