A study on the improvement of safety management for large-scale of event site - on the focus of the improvement of security company's role - (대규모 공연장의 안전관리 개선방안 - 민간경비업체의 역할 개선을 중심으로 -)

  • Various kinds of performances and events have been held by local governments along with the worldwide popularity of K-pop, and there is a growing concern about possible accidents. Actually, a large-scale of accident took place during the MBC pop song concert in Sangju Sports Stadium in October 3, 2005. And another great safety accident occurred during an open event in the Lotte World in Seoul in March 26, 2006. The purpose of this study is to propose improvement of security company that carry out security activity through the analysis of the cases of accidents and common causes in the event sites. The improvement of safety management for large-scale event site by the study are as followings; First, institutional measures should be taken to extend the size of private security companies. Second, more education and training should be provided for security personnels who work for the event. Third, private security companies should prepare for the security measures more thoroughly in advance. Fourth, private security companies should make every possible effort to maintain order in the event site. Fifth, private security companies should bolster their collaboration with relevant organizations. Sixth, security companies should take actions to make themselves completely ready for any possible unexpected situations.

A Method for Detecting Event-Location based on Similar Keyword Extraction in Tweet Text (트윗 텍스트의 유사 키워드 추출을 통한 이벤트 지역 탐지 기법)

  • Twitter has the fast propagation and diffusion of information compare to other SNS. Therefore, many researches about detecting real-time event using twitter are progressing. Twitter real-time event detecting system assumes every twitter user as a sensor and analyzes their written tweet in order to detect the event. Researches that are related to this twitter have already obtained good results but confronted the limits because of some problems. Especially, many existing researches are using the method that can trace an event location by using GPS coordinate. However, it can be suggested a definite limitation through the present user's skeptical responses about making personal location information public. Therefore, this paper suggests the method that traces the location information in tweet contents text without using the provided location information from twitter. Associated words were grouped by using the keyword that extracted in tweet contents text. The place that the events have occurred and whether the events have surely occurred are detected by this experiment using this algorithm. Furthermore, this experiment demonstrated the necessity of the suggested methods by showing faster detection compare to the other existing media.

  • This paper proposes geographical name denoising by machine learning of event detection based on twitter. Recently, the increasing number of smart phone users are leading the growing user of SNS. Especially, the functions of short message (less than 140 words) and follow service make twitter has the power of conveying and diffusing the information more quickly. These characteristics and mobile optimised feature make twitter has fast information conveying speed, which can play a role of conveying disasters or events. Related research used the individuals of twitter user as the sensor of event detection to detect events that occur in reality. This research employed geographical name as the keyword by using the characteristic that an event occurs in a specific place. However, it ignored the denoising of relationship between geographical name and homograph, it became an important factor to lower the accuracy of event detection. In this paper, we used removing and forecasting, these two method to applied denoising technique. First after processing the filtering step by using noise related database building, we have determined the existence of geographical name by using the Naive Bayesian classification. Finally by using the experimental data, we earned the probability value of machine learning. On the basis of forecast technique which is proposed in this paper, the reliability of the need for denoising technique has turned out to be 89.6%.

  • Recently, in accordance with the development of IT technology, it is prevalent for power quality monitors to be connected to each other via networks and share their data because such networks provide system-wide insights to customers concerning power quality. Those systems can alarm and display power quality events for the convenience of customers. However, if a power quality event occurs, it is difficult for customers to determine its cause and solution because the systems do not provide appropriate power quality diagnosis functions. The power quality management system presented in this paper has been developed to provide customers with various power quality diagnosis functions so that they can cope well with power quality problems with the right measure in the right place. This paper presents the structure and functions of the developed power quality management system and shows some results of the power diagnosis functions.

  • This paper suggested a location-based traffic information service system using TPEG and GIS. Measurement technique, location server, applied service technique, and linkage technique with database were used to provide the location-based traffic information service. In particular, TPEG-RTM includes location information and load traffic message. The location information to be included in each message displayed a specific point, section or region limit of the load. Actually, because it was impossible to receive data using TPEG receiver, a proposed program included in this paper was used to produce an arbitrary database and read it, Also, TPEG event happened time was indicated on the map for matching test of a TPEG message and WGS84 coordinate, and finally it was verified with art example of a vehicle approaching to an event happened place.

Earthquakes occurred around the Yeongweol area (영월 및 인접 지역에서 발생한 지진에 대한 고찰)

  • The December 13, 1996 Yeongweol earthquake of magnitude 4.5 was felt almost everywhere in southern part of the Korean Peninsula and Cheju Island, even though not feld in Tsushima Island at other places in Japan near to Korea. Production lines of semiconductor disk in electronic engineering companies of Gumi manufacturing complex were seriously affected by the shake of this earthquake. Total 17 earthquakes of magnitude 4 or above occurred within the area of 50km radius from Yeongweol in the period from the year 1400 to 1996. This group of earthquakes includes 12 events of magnitude 5.0 or above and 3 events of magnitude 6.0 or above. Among these events, 13 earthquakes are historical events of years 1400-1904. Most of them occurred in 15-16 centuries. The February 21, 1596 Jungseon-Pyeongchang event of magnitude 6.5 is the largest one up to now in the area. There are four instrumental earthquakes (years 1905-1996) of magnitude 4.0 or above in this area. An earthquake of magnitude 4.4 occurred on 5th of November, 1919 at almost the same place as the December 13, 1996 earthquake of magnitude 4.5. Thus this event is preceded with the previous one by 77 years.

  • Networked multiple CCTV systems are required to effectively trace down long-term abnormal behaviors, such as stalking. However, the occluding event, which often takes place during tracking, may result in critical errors of cessation of tracing, or tracking wrong objects. Thus, utilizing installed regular CCTVs, this study aims to trace the relation tracking in a continuous manner by recognizing distinctive features of each object and its perspective projection depth to address the problem with occluded objects. In addition, this study covers occlusion event between the stationary background objects, such as street lights, or walls, and the targeted object.

  • The idea of shopping is changed from a purchase of merchandise to an experience of pleasure. This study is a space composition analysis for the introduction of theme in multi-plex shopping center design to reflect variable consumer trend and company marketing strategy, The study progressed through theoretical consideration and substance analysis about the shopping centers which had been designed by Jerd Partnership In Japan since 2000. The following is result. The path is a sole main street that is made of curve form, parallel and vertical circulating rout and movement of human being. It leads continuity. The node and landmarks have a circular court with typifier as powerful center, character of transition space and event for experience. It makes locational quality. The districts are composed of retail shops, restaurants and culture facilities and the edge is represented by closed vertical wall and parapet. It induces a domain. The characteristic of Jerde shopping center is an experience of theme environment through the path as betweenness with a story based on a main theme. It is mostly related nature or exotic element and is obviously represented at path and node. The node takes a round shape and bring about event as a court. The application of theme to the shopping center by Jerde has a significant meaning for place marketing.

An Understanding of Keyword Networks on Research Trends on Jeju Tourism and Sports Tourism (제주관광과 스포츠관광에 관한 연구의 키워드 네트워크에 대한 이해)

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study was to conduct a preliminary study to identify key trends on research articles indexed in KCI in relation to tourism in Jeju and sports tourism. Design/methodology/approach - Information regarding research articles focused on Jeju tourism and sports tourism indexed in KCI (145 and 120 articles respectively) were collected and finally abstract written in Korean of 100 and 91 articles on sports tourism and Jeju tourism respectively were chosen for the further analysis after removing redundant articles. R program was used to analyze keyword frequencies, co-occurring terms, and degree/betweeness centrality measures and visualize the keyword network results. Findings - Event, marketing, content, program, implication, service, stadium, and tourism destination have been identified as keywords with highest frequencies among research on sport tourism, whereas tourism destination, image, brand, content, data, Chinese, satisfaction, eco-tourism service, place of arrival were highly appearing terms among research on Jeju tourism. Research implications or Originality - This study highlighted that Jeju has been interlinked with a range of terms such as programs influencing Jeju tourism, natural environment, tourism-related resources (e.g., museums, dramas, etc.), whereas sports has been closely related to sports event and vaiours types of sports (e.g., bicycle, staking, and scuber), but not to Jeju-do.

  • A few studies have shown that the function of fusiform face area is selectively involved in the perception of faces including a race difference. We investigated the neural substrates of the face-selective region called fusiform face area in the ventral occipital-temporal cortex and same-race memory superiority in the fusiform face area by the event-related fMRI. In our fMRI study, subjects (Oriental-Korean) performed the implicit distinction of the race while they consciously made familiar-judgments, regardless of whether they considered a face as Oriental-Korean or European-American. For race distinction as an implicit task, the fusiform face areas (FFA) and the right parahippocampal gyrus had a greater response to the presentation of Oriental-Korean faces than for the European-American faces, but in the conscious race distinction between Oriental-Korean and European-American faces, there was no significant difference observed in the FFA. These results suggest that different activation in the fusiform regions and right parahippocampal gyrus resulting from superiority of same-race memory could have implicitly taken place by the physiological processes of face recognition.
