결합 스롯트 선로의 새로운 해석 (A New Analysis of a Coupled Slotlines)

  • 본 논문에서는 결합 스롯트 선로의 특성을 해석할 수 있는 간단하며 새로운 식을 유도하였다. 이는 S.B.Cotlrl의 단일 스롯트선로의 해석법을 기초로 하여, 정모우드와 기모우드에서의 총어드미턴스식을 종래의 해석법과 다르게 접근하여 Knorr와 Kuchler의 계산치와 비교, 잘 일정함을 볼 수 있었다.

Multi-Operand Radix-2 Signed-Digit Adder using Current Mode MOSEET Circuits

  • This paper describes a novel multi-operand radix-2 signed-digit(SD) adder. The novel multi-operand addition algorithm can eliminate carry propagation chain by dividing the input operands into even place part and odd place part, and adding them each. The multi-operand adder with this algorithm can add six operands in parallel, and is faster than the ordinary method of SD adder binary tree. A hardware model for proposed adder is shown which is implemented by the current-mode MOSFET circuit technology. Simulations have been made by SPICE in order to verify the function of the proposed circuit.

Compact tri-wideband bandpass filter with multiple transmission zeros

  • This paper presents a tri-wideband bandpass filter (TWB-BPF) with compact size, high band-to-band isolation, and multiple transmission zeros (TZs). The proposed TWB-BPF is based on a multiple-mode resonator (MMR), which is interpreted by the method of the even- and odd-mode analysis technique. The MMR can excite 11 resonant modes, where the first two modes comprise the first passband, the next four modes form the second passband, and the last five modes are used to generate the third passband. In addition, 10 TZs are yielded to obtain high band-to-band isolation and wide stopband suppression characteristics up to $14.95f_{c1}$ ($f_{c1}$ is the center frequency of the first passband). To verify the proposed filter, a TWB-BPF with 3-dB fractional bandwidths (FBWs) of 37.4%, 43.5%, and 40.4% is designed, fabricated, and measured.

자계 결합 무선 전력 전송에서의 결합 계수 추출 방법 (Extraction Solution for the Coupling Coefficient at the Magnetically Coupled Wireless Power Transmission)

  • 본 논문에서는 손실을 고려한 등가 회로 분석을 통하여 자계 결합 무선 전력 전송 시스템에서의 결합 계수 추출식을 유도하였다. 부하 저항을 고려한 유도된 추출식을 이용하여 결합 모드 이론을 이용한 기존의 추출식을 일반화시켰다. 따라서 우수/기수 모드 해석이 불필요하기 때문에 측정 과정에서 쉽게 결합 계수를 구할 수 있다. 또한, EM 시뮬레이션에서 두 루프를 통과하는 자속의 비를 이용하여 구한 결합 계수와 유도된 추출식을 이용하여 구한 결합 계수가 일치함을 확인할 수 있다. 자계 결합 무선 전력 전송에서의 정확한 결합 계수를 추출한다면, 시스템을 분석하고 최적화시키는 데 유용하게 활용할 수 있다.

Metamaterial CRLH Structure-based Balun for Common-Mode Current Indicator

  • We proposed a new PCB-type 'common-mode current($I_c$) and differential-mode current($I_d$) detector' working for fast detection of $I_c$ and $I_d$ from the differential-mode signaling, with miniaturization effect and possibility of cheaper fabrication. In order to realize this device, we suggest a branch-line-coupler balun having a composite right- and left-handed(CRLH) one-layer microstrip phase-shifting line as compact as roughly ${\lambda}_g/14$. The presented balun obviously is different from the conventional bent-&-folded delay lines or slits on the ground for coupling the lines on the top and bottom dielectrics. As we connect the suggested balun output ports of the differential-mode signal lines via the through-port named U and coupled-port named L, $I_c$ and $I_d$ will appear at port ${\Delta}$ and port ${\Sigma}$ of the present device, in order. The validity of the design scheme is verified by the circuit-and numerical electromagnetic analyses, and the dispersion curve proving the metamaterial characteristics of the geometry. Besides, the examples of the $I_c$ and $I_d$ indicator are observed as the even and odd modes in differential-mode signal feeding. Also, the proposed device is shown to be very compact, compared with the conventional structure.

Fully Printed Dual-Band Power Divider Miniaturized by CRLH Phase-Shift Lines

  • In this letter, a compact and fully printed composite right- and left-handed (CRLH) dual-band power divider is proposed. The branches of the conventional Wilkinson power divider are replaced by subwavelength CRLH phase-shift lines having $+90^{\circ}$ for one frequency and $-90^{\circ}$ for another frequency for dual-band and miniaturization performance. Equations are derived for the even- and odd-mode analysis combined with the dual-band CRLH circuit. A PCS and a WLAN band are chosen as the test case and the circuit approach agrees with the CAD simulation and the measurement. Additionally, the CRLH property is shown with the dispersion diagram and the eightfold size reduction is noted.

  • Much time and labor has been conventionally paid for fine adjustment of circuit elements by experience to improve the characteristics of Tap-off for CATV systems. To solve the problem, in this paper, the relations between the even- and odd-mode impedance. Z$_{oe}$ and Z$_{oo}$ of symmetrical 4-port coupled-line directional coupler and power dividing characteristics of Tap-off for CATV system have been derived. After the coupling, the reflectivity and the isolation are represented by Z$_{oe}$ and Z$_{oo}$ only, the fine adjustment of all S-parameters can be performed by controling the elements of Z$_{oe}$ and Z$_{oo}$ only. Furthermore, the validity of the new fine adjustment method proposed here has been confirmed by experiments.

평행 결합선로 이론에 근거한 MMIC 집중 소자형 방향성 결합기 (Lumped Element MMIC Direction Coupler Based on Parallel Coupled-Line Theory)

  • In this paper, lumped equivalent circuits for a conventional parallel directional coupler are proposed. This equivalent circuits only have self inductance and self capacitance, so we can design exact lumped equivalent circuit. The equivalent circuit and design formula for the presented lumped element coupler is derived based on the even- and odd-mode properties of parallel-coupled line. By using the derived design formula, we have designed the 3dB and 4.7dB MMIC couplers at the center frequency of 3.4GHz and 5.6GHz respectively. Measurements for the designed MMIC directional couplers show at 4dB and 5.2dB-coupling value at the center frequency of 3.4GHz and 5.6GHz. Excellent agreements between simulation results and measurement results on the designed directional couplers show the validity of this paper

고온초전도체를 이용한 가지 형태 3 dB 방향성 결합기 설계 및 특성해석 (Design and Characterization of 3 dB Branch Type Directional Couplers using High-Tc Superconductors)

  • In this work, we presented the characterization of 3 dB branch type directional couplers by using High-Tc superconducting thin films. To do this, we deposited YBCO superconducting thin films on MgO substrates by using rf-magnetron sputtering techniques. The designed center frequency was 408 MHz and the designed passband was 20 MHz. Also we designed 3 dB Power difference and $90^{\circ}$ of phase difference between port 3 and port 4. The even and odd mode analysis were used to characterize our directional couplers and em Sonnet (full wave analysis program) was utilized to the optimum design. We reported experimental results, including a center frequency, passband, half power characteristics and phase differences. We confirmed that experimental results were in good agreements with characterization by using full wave analysis program.

  • In this paper, we have dealt with the design and analysis methods of the frequency charateristics for the power dividers which are extensively used in CATV and DBS(Direct Broadcasting Satellite) systems. The lumped-element circuits have been implemented based on the Wilkinson power divider and the charateristics of the circuits approximated to ideal transformer examined. Then the frequency characteristics are analysised by using even - odd-mode method. Furthermore, in order to improve the charateristics, the optimum design method by adding compensating circuit has been Proposed and it has been shown that the charateristics are improved remarkably.
