Study on the narrowed nanopores of anodized aluminum oxide template by thin-film deposition using e-beam evaporation (전자빔 증발법 박막 증착을 이용한 양극 산화 알루미늄 템플릿의 나노 포어 가공 연구)

  • The fabrication of nanopore membrane by deposition of Al2O3 film using electron-beam evaporation, which is fast, cost-effective, and negligible dependency on substance material, is investigated for potential applications in water purification and sensors. The decreased nanopore diameter owing to increased wall thickness is observed when Al2O3 film is deposited on anodic aluminum oxide membrane at higher deposition rate, although the evaporation process is generally known to induce a directional film deposition leading to the negligible change of pore diameter and wall thickness. This behavior can be attributed to the collision of evaporated Al2O3 particles by the decreased mean free path at higher deposition rate condition, resulting in the accumulation of Al2O3 materials on both the surface and the edge of the wall. The reduction of nanopore diameter by Al2O3 film deposition can be applied to the nanopore membrane fabrication with sub-100 nm pore diameter.

  • The refrigerating system are high efficiency and comfortable due to the automation of the system as well as enhance energy saving are contributing to driving system. Previous study the rotational frequency of the compressor was confined to the fixed condition have changed load of evaporator and condenser related about the refrigerator performance characteristic according to the evaporation load and condensation load change tries to be analyze through the experiment. The useful data for the economic driving of the freezing apparatus tries to be drawn. Consequently, it confirmed that refrigerant in the compressor overheated and as the evaporation load increased the specific volume was increased and the coolant circulation rate decreased. In confirmed that condensation load increased the compression ratio and discharge gas temperature increased. It reduced the low-temperature efficiency and condensation calorie and the quality factor was decreased.

  • The quantity of gas which can be supplied by LPG storage tank become a standard of selection. In the absence of the maximum evaporation rates from LPG storage tanks by tank capacity, continuation using time, air temperature, it is in a problem for the dissemination of LPG Storage tanks. In this paper, we showed the maximum evaporation rates from LPG storage tanks by tank capacity, air temperature, continuous using time and remaining level.

On the Surface Moisture Availability Parameters to Estimate the Surface Evaporation (증발량 추정을 위한 지표면 가용 수분 계수)

  • In order to discuss the differences among the SMP(Surface Moisture Availability Parameter), by previous researchers on the basis of their own theoretical and empirical background, we assessed the SMP according to the soil types and volumetric soil water contents. The results are as follows. There are differences among all the five SMAPs. There's a tendency that the larger grain size, the higher value of parameters. And they divided into two groups for their value: one group has parameters with exponential function and the other with cosine and linear function. The maximum difference between the two groups appears when the volumetric soil water contents are 0.07m3m-3 for sand, 0.l1m3m-3 for loam, 0.12 for clay, and 0.13m3m-3 for silt loam. So, these differences must be considered when we estimate the surface evaporation rate. From field data, the paddy field soil around Junam reservoir is classified as a silt has high wetness, 0.56. So, the parameter obtained from the field measurement is much higher than that of Clapp and Hornberger(1978)'s Table. This study treated the SMP for a certain point of time in winter season. But if we measured the soil water contents continuously, we could obtain better time-dependent parameter.   • Ren et al. analyzed the performance of the indirect evaporative cooler according to the direction of the flow considering evaporation water flow and wetness. However the effect of NTU of each channel on the performance of the indirect evaporative cooler according to the direction of the flow was not analyzed exactly. In this study the effect of the direction of the flow on the Indirect evaporative cooling performance changing NTU of each channel are investigated theoretically. The cooling process of the indirect evaporative cooler by flow direction is modeled into a set of linear differential equations and solved to obtain the exact solutions to the temperatures of the hot fluid, the moist air, and evaporation water. Based on the exact solution in the case of different NTU of each channel, we study the change of the distribution of the temperature according to each flow direction and at the same time analyze the effect of the flow direction on the cooling performance.

  • In this paper, an analytical model for estimation of the time at which the concrete surface begins to dry is introduced to predict whether or not plastic shrinkage cracks occur. First of all, the validity of a consolidation model for bleeding of cement paste proposed by Tan et al. is verified by comparing the analytical results with the experimental results, and used to evaluate the rate and amount of bleed water of concrete. Also an analytical model for evaporation of bleed water which considers the effect of the temperature variation of concrete surface due to hydration heat on the evaporation rate is proposed, and the experimental and analytical results are then compared to verify the validity of the introduced model. In advance, the time at which the concrete surface begins to dry is estimated using above two analytical models, and compared with the experimental results about the time at which plastic shrinkage cracks occur. From the comparison, it is verified that the proposed model can predict the occurrence of plastic shrinkage cracking with comparative precision.

  • This paper presents the fabrication of a micro pump consisting of a pair of Al f1ap wave and a phase change actuator. The phase change actuator is composed of a heater, a silicone rubber diaphragm and a working liquid chamber. The diaphragm is actuated by the evaporation and the condensation of the working liquid. The actuator pumps fluid through the valves. The micro pump is fabricated by the anisotropic etch, the boron deposition and the metal evaporation. The forward and the backward flow characteristics of the f1ap valves were obtained. Also, the flow rate of the micro pump has been measured. When the square wave input of 12 V, 60% duty ratio and 0.2 Hz is applied, the average flow rate is $0.15{\mu}{\ell}/sec$ for zero pressure difference.

  • Dimethyl ether (DME) as an alternative fuel for compression ignition engine was investigated by measuring spray development processes, injection rate profiles, engine performance, and exhaust emission characteristics. The results of DME fueled engine were compared with those obtained by fueled with diesel. The experimental results showed that DME has approximately 0.03ms shorter injection delay and higher maximum injection rate than those of diesel fuel at a constant injection pressure of 50MPa. The spray visualization indicates that DME has shorter spray tip penetration due to its low density and faster evaporation. The combustion characteristics of DME operated engine provided faster ignition delay and three times shorter combustion duration. It is believed that the better evaporation and atomization characteristic of DME contributes the faster combustion. At all operating condition, soot emission was not detected due to the clean combustion of DME.

  • Ceramic tapes were fabricated by ultrasonically spraying slurries of monodispersed spherical and alumina powders. Effects of slurry compositions on tape forming were investigated. A relatively fast rate of solvent evaporation caused pores and cracks to be formed. A good chemical affinity between solvent and binder gave rise to binder separation resulting in inhomogeneous distribution of binder. Defect-free silica tapes with uniform distribution of particle packing and the binder were obtained from the solvent having a low chemical affinity and a slow evaporation rate and containing appropriate amounts of the binder and the plasticizer. Tape thickness could be controlled by adjusting solids loadings and slurry feed rates. It was possible to fabricate a tape in 15 $\mu\textrm{m}$ thickness from 7 vol% alumina slurry.

  • A model for the prediction of combustion and exhaust emissions of DI diesel engine has been formulated and developed. This model is a quasi-dimensional phenomenological one and is based on multi-zone combustion modelling concept. This model is developed based on the concept of Hiroyasu's multizone combustion models. It takes nozzle injection (spray) parameters, induction swirl into consideration and the models of zone velocity, air entrainment, fuel droplet evaporation and mixture combustion are upgraded. Various parameters, such as cylinder pressure, heat release rate, Nox and soot emission, and these parameters in the zone are simulated. The results are compared with the experimental ones, too.
