보행보조차의 인체측정학적 분석 및 사용성 평가를 통한 디자인 개선 (Anthropometric Analysis and Usability Evaluation of Four-wheeled Walker)

  • In this study, anthropometric analysis and usability evaluation for four-wheeled walker were carried out and then ergonomics design guidelines were proposed. In anthropometric analysis, design factors of four-wheeled walker were firstly identified and anthropometric design guidelines were made using Korean human scales. Design suitability for two typical four-wheeled walkers was analyzed in based on anthropometric design guidelines. Usability evaluation for two typical walkers was also performed through observation method and expert evaluation. Several usability problems were identified and design solutions were proposed for the design improvement of four-wheeled walker. Finally a design model of four wheeled walker considering analysis results was proposed.

  • This study aims to compare and evaluate the usability of domestic and overseas XR devices. With the recent release of 'Apple Vision Pro', interest in the XR field is increasing rapidly. XR devices are being used in various fields such as defense, medical care, education, and entertainment, but the evaluation system for evaluating usability is still insufficient. Therefore, this study aims to derive improvements in domestic equipment through comparative evaluation of usability for two HMD-type devices and one glasses-type device that are released. In order to conduct the study, 20 participants in their 20s to 30s who were interested in XR devices and had no visual sensory organ-related disabilities were evaluated by wearing VR equipment. As a quantitative evaluation, electromyography through an EMG sensor and the device and body temperature of the device through a thermal imaging camera were measured. As a qualitative evaluation, the safety of wearing, ease of wearing, comfort of wearing, and satisfaction of wearing were evaluated. As a result of comparing the usability of the devices based on the results, it was confirmed that domestic HMD-type device needs improvement in the strap part.

  • Classivication scheme of usability element for the evaluation of consumer electronic product was developed in this study. Using hierachical structuring and clustering methods, usability element of consumer products interface is developed both for the performance perspective and for the image/appeal perspective of a product. Perfoormance element included variables such as simplicity, directness, learn- ability, flexibility, user support and effectiveness. Image/Appeal element included variables such as sensibility, descriptive impression, evaluation of appeal, and attitude towards the product. The classifi- cation scheme developed in this study is found to be comprehensive and robust relative to other existing paradigms. They can be effectively used and applied for the usability evaluation of consumer electronic products.

코딩 교육용 소프트웨어에 대한 단위 행동 손실률 기반의 사용성 평가 방법 (A Usability Evaluation Method Based on the Lostness of Unit Action for Coding Education Software)

  • In this paper, we first point out the limitation of the existing methods in usability evaluation, and propose a new method to find tasks and users that can cause problems in the use of software applications. To deal with object-based applications, we define unit actions and divide a given task into the sequence of unit actions. Then, we propose a new measure to calculate the degree of lostness for the unit actions. In several experiments, we show the proposed method can represent the usability well while the previous method has a problem in object-based applications. We also find that the user's evaluation is more related to the proposed method than the previous method based on execution time through correlation analysis.

  • The importance of usability evaluation is increasing in developing the system(or product). Many usability measures and test methods have been developed in the fields of ergonomics and cognitive engineering. A systematic usability effort using established methods may be qualify as usability engineering. In this paper, general aspects of the usability engineering are introduced, and application methods of usability engineering model based on product's life cycle are presented.

A Study on The Usability Evaluation Based on Text Analysis for The Development of Comfort-Shoes for Middle-Aged

  • Purpose: This study is to conduct usability evaluations from the perspective of developing comfort-shoes for the middle-aged and elderly to identify key factors and derive implications for optimal comfort-shoes production. Research design, data, and methodology: A total of 10 middle-aged and elderly women in their 50s and 60s were selected as eligible for the rescue. For data collection, the study was conducted in a Gang Survey, where pre-explanations, shoes test, and interviews were conducted. The collected data were analyzed in a total of four stages. In step 1, the contents obtained through interviews with the subjects were recorded in text, organized and analyzed systematically, and in step 2, unnecessary vocabulary, sentences, and overlapping opinions were eliminated. In step 3, we classified areas around key functions and carried out categorization tasks. Finally, in Step 4, the results and implications of the study were derived by classifying each usability evaluation shoe as positive and negative text around categorized data. Results: There are a total of seven factors for comfort-shoes usability evaluation, which are categorized as cushion, fitting, stability, flexibility, lightweight, comfort, and pressure. Positive/negative factors for the derived usability evaluation factors were shown in the form of a positive-centered, negative-centered, and positive-mixed mix for each of the four products. Positive-focused products are VA products, which are seven times more positive than negative factors. Negative-centered products are CL and SA products, which are five times more negative than positive factors. Positive mixing was a CA product with a ratio of 1:1. Text-based usability evaluations allow us to proceed with analysis based on more scientific data rather than simply listening to opinions and judging by comments. Conclusions: The study discussed implications of developing comfort-shoes for middle-aged consumers and future directions were discussed.

  • 건설현장배치는 프로젝트 공기와 비용에 큰 영향을 미치므로 이에 대한 최적화 및 자동화 연구가 수행되고 있다. 하지만, 이러한 연구의 목표변수인 건설현장배치의 수준을 평가하는 근거는 매우 제한적이다. 본 연구는 사용성평가 방법을 활용하여 건설현장배치의 수준을 평가하고 향후 건설현장배치 자동화 및 최적화 연구에서 초점을 맞추어야 하는 부분을 확인하고자 하였다. 설문결과 국내건설현장배치 사용성은 효과와 작업환경 항목에서 낮은 점수를 받았으며, 작업자가 관리자에 비해 낮게 평가하였다. 또한 작업환경 항목에서 낮은 점수를 받았으며 현장접근성과 시설 편의성이 낮음을 확인하였다. 이 연구는 건설현장배치 현황을 파악하고 개선방향을 제시함으로써 건설현장배치 자동화 및 최적화 연구의 진행을 위한 지식에 기여한다.

비 HCI 전공자들을 대상으로 한 Nielsen의 Usability Heuristics에 대한 이해 정도 평가 (Evaluating the Effectiveness of Nielsen's Usability Heuristics for Computer Engineers and Designers without Human Computer Interaction Background)

  • Usability heuristics는 사용자 인터페이스를 설계하는 과정에서 유용성 평가에 사용되는 일반적인 원칙이다. 유용성 평가 방법은 보통 Human Computer Interaction(HCI) 전문가들이 사용하는데, 이 연구의 최종적인 목적은 HCI 전문가들 뿐 만이 아니라 사용자 인터페이스를 제작하는 더 광범위한 많은 사람들(사용자 인터페이스 디자이너나 엔지니어들)에게 적용하는 것이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 유용성 평가에서 대표적으로 사용되는 Jakob Nielsen의 10가지 usability heuristics가 HCI 전문가가 아닌 디자인과 컴퓨터 공학 교수 및 학생들이 얼마나 이해하기 쉬운지를 설문하였다. 또한 응답한 설문을 바탕으로 어떤 heuristics들이 이해하기 쉬었으며, 이해하기 어려운 것들은 어떠한 이유로 이해하기가 어려웠는지, 또 교수들과 학생들과의 이해정도의 차이나 응답반응의 차이 등을 분석하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 얻게 된 가장 큰 성과는 응답자들이 좀 더 사용자 입장에서 어플리케이션들을 바라볼 수 있게 되었다는 점이었으며, 본 연구의 결과들은 usability heuristics를 좀 더 많은 사람들이 쉽게 이해할 수 있도록 만들어서 인터페이스를 설계하고 구현하는데 도움이 될 것이다.
