침입탐지시스템 평가 방법론 (A Methodology for Evaluating Intrusion Detection System)

  • 많은 종류의 침입탐지시스템들이 국내외에서 만들어졌으나 이러한 시스템들을 평가할 수 있는 방법론에 대한 연구는 아직 미흡한 상태이다. 이와 같은 상황을 인지하여 본 논문에서는 침입탐지시스템들을 평가할 수 있는 여러 가지 기준 중에서 가장 중요하다고 생각되는 침입탐지시스템 성능 및 안전성 측면에 대해 평가 초점을 맞추어 이에 대한 방법론을 제시하려한다. 기존 침입탐지시스템 성능 측면 평가 관련 연구에서는 주로 오용행위에 대해 평가를 실시하였으며 이에 대한 탐지 능력을 측정하는데 초점을 맞춘 반면 비정상행위 대해서는 현재 자세한 평가 방법론을 제시하고 있지 않은 상황이다. 안전성 평가의 경우 오프라인 방법론상에서는 적용하기 어려우며 기존 온라인 방법론에서는 아직 평가 방법이 제시되고 있지 않은 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 비정상행위의 체계적인 분류와 이를 기반으로 한 비정상행위 생성 방법 제시를 통해 오용행위 탐지시스템과 더불어 비정상행위 탐지시스템에 대해서도 평가 방법을 제시하고자 하며 또한 침입탐지시스템의 안전성을 위해할 수 있는 요소들을 파악하여 이를 기반으로 한 안전성 측면 평가 방법도 같이 제시한다.

A methodology for evaluating human operator's fitness for duty in nuclear power plants

  • It is reported that about 20% of accidents at nuclear power plants in Korea and abroad are caused by human error. One of the main factors contributing to human error is fatigue, so it is necessary to prevent human errors that may occur when the task is performed in an improper state by grasping the status of the operator in advance. In this study, we propose a method of evaluating operator's fitness-for-duty (FFD) using various parameters including eye movement data, subjective fatigue ratings, and operator's performance. Parameters for evaluating FFD were selected through a literature survey. We performed experiments that test subjects who felt various levels of fatigue monitor information of indicators and diagnose a system malfunction. In order to find meaningful characteristics in measured data consisting of various parameters, hierarchical clustering analysis, an unsupervised machine-learning technique, is used. The characteristics of each cluster were analyzed; fitness-for-duty of each cluster was evaluated. The appropriateness of the number of clusters obtained through clustering analysis was evaluated using both the Elbow and Silhouette methods. Finally, it was statistically shown that the suggested methodology for evaluating FFD does not generate additional fatigue in subjects. Relevance to industry: The methodology for evaluating an operator's fitness for duty in advance is proposed, and it can prevent human errors that might be caused by inappropriate condition in nuclear industries.

  • 본 고에서는 사용자 인증을 위한 생체 인증 시스템에 대한 전반적인 고찰과 성능평가 방법론에 대한 검토를 행하고자 한다. 우선적으로 생체 인중 방법에 대한 방법론과 생체학적, 행동학적 생체 특징을 이용한 생체 인중 시스템에 대한 고찰을 수행한다. 끝으로 각 생체 인증 시스템에 대한 평가 항목에 대한 검토를 수행하여 생체 인증 시스템에 대한 경향과 이용도를 파악하고자 한다.

An Analytic Delphi Network Process for Evaluating Telecommunication management Network Operation Systems (TMNOS)

  • The problems of evaluating Telecommunication Management Network Operation Systems (TMNOS) are Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) problems. A method for evaluating the TMNOS has not yet been clearly defined. A study of an effective and efficient management methodology for TMNOS, which are heterogeneous and complex, is needed. The components of TMNOS have attributes of dependence between considered criteria or alternatives. This type of dependence impact between criteria or alternatives is a network structure. We suggest a methodology of Analytic Delphi Network Process (ADNP) for evaluating TMONS. The TMNOS problem of Korea Telecom (KT) is suggested as a case study of the ADNP.

  • Information technology becomes more important to small and medium-sized enterprises. Due to the limit of manpower and capital investment in small and medium sized enterprises, how to successfully implement information systems is very critical issue. Previous research shows that lack of systematic methodology for evaluating and directing informatization is a major obstacle for successful implementaion of information systems. This study developed the methodology for evaluating and directing informatization in small and medium-sized enterprises. Empirical study has been conducted to find out major measurement of evaluation as well as validate the model. Finally the systematic guideline, evaluating information level and directing informatization, has been developed in order to help enterprises successfully implement information systems.

Evaluating End-User Computing Capability in Total Perspective

  • This study presents a methodology that efficiently evaluates and interprets the end-user computing capability in a total perspective in a computing environment. The evaluation system has an evaluation tool, evaluation method and process, and an interpretation system. The validity and reliability of the developed tool construct was verified by factor and reliability analysis with the application of SPSS software. The application and utilization of the developed system was confirmed by applying it to evaluating the computing competency of 316 workers in an enterprise and presenting its evaluation results. This will contribute to developing a methodology for totally evaluating and interpreting the end-user computing capability and improving their computing capability in industrial fields.

  • The objective of this study is to suggest DARE (Decision Alternative Ratio Evaluation) Method, which is usually using in VE(Value Engineering), as one of the evaluating alternatives techniques, especially deciding location. The process of solving location problem consists of 4 stages which are Data gathering and Confirming check list, Design of evaluating methodology, Evaluating, and Conclusion. In second stage which is the most important one among those, DARE method is adopted to solve location problem as a objective and scientific technique. The members who are participated workshop extremely agree to whole procedure of methodology and also their own conclusion through Workshop. This case study shows DARE method fits with select optimal location.

DEA와 BSC 기법을 이용한 조직 효율성 비교에 대한 연구 (A Combined DEA-BSC methodology for evaluating organizational efficiency)

  • The balanced scorecard(BSC) overcomes the limit of traditional financial statement that focuses on only financial performance. BSC is widely used in government and industry because of the clear representation of the relationship and logic between the key performance indicators(KPI) of 4 perspectives - financial, customer, internal process, and loaming and growth. However, traditional BSC does not consider evaluating the difference between the results measured by BSC. By using relatively small number of inputs and outputs In comparing decision-making units, data envelopment analysis(DEA) can aggregate multiple performance measures. In this research, we propose a methodology named CDB(Combined DEA and BSC) to evaluate the performance of organization considering financial and non-financial perspectives. CDB uses KPI of cause-and-effect relationship on BSC as inputs and outputs of DEA method. In addition, this research proposes a method of converting the KPI of BSC to the input and output variables of DEA, and enhancing discrimination power using the limit number of variables. We illustrate the methodology by giving an example of evaluating aquisition-unit efficiency in a supply chain.

  • 반응표면분석시 모든 실험이 동일한 조건 하에서 이루어지어야 하는 데 그렇지 못할 경우 우리는 블럭화를 행하게 된다. 반응 표면분석모형으로서 우리는 주로 2차 모형을 사용한다. 본 논문은 우리가 반응표면분석모형으로서 2차 모형을 사용할 때 근사직교블럭화를 평가하기 위한 간단한 측도들을 제시한다.
