Social Perception of Disaster Safety Education for Young Children through Big Data (빅데이터를 통해 살펴본 유아 재난안전교육에 대한 사회적 인식)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the social perception of disaster safety education for young children based on Textom big data and to explore the direction of young children's disaster safety education. Researchers collected and analyzed online text data using the keywords 'young children+disaster+safety education' from portal websites from 2014 to 2017. The raw data were then subjected to first and second data refinement process. Based on the frequency analysis results, 50 keywords were selected, and the selected keywords were converted into matrix data for network analysis. The results of the study are: first, the most frequently appeared keyword together with young children's disaster safety education was 'education', followed by 'experience', 'kindergarten', 'prevention', and 'school.' Second, keywords with high centrality in the analysis of centrality also were 'education', 'experience', and 'prevention'. In addition, keywords like 'prevention', 'life', and 'evacuation' appear higher in connection-centricity than frequency ranking, which means that the degree of connection between the words is high. These results suggest that young children need education in during early childhood in order to improve their disaster safety skills, and disaster safety education should be accomplished through 'prevention' and 'experience' in early childhood education institutions.

Evaluation of a Tunneling Technique under the Latissimus Dorsi Muscle for Thoracostomy Tube Placement in Eleven Dogs (흉강 튜브 삽입을 위한 넓은 등근 아래 터널 만들기 방법에 대한 평가)

  • The present study evaluated the outcome of use of thoracostomy tube tunneling technique under the latissimus dorsi muscle for the evacuation of postoperative pneumothorax induced by thoracotomy in 11 dogs. A stab incision was made through the skin and the latissimus dorsi muscle over the rib in the fifth intercostal space caudal to a surgical window. The thoracostomy tube with a Kelly hemostat was advanced into the thoracic cavity in a cranioventral direction through the sublatissimal tunnel. After tube placement, a # 1 nylon horizontal mattress suture was placed around the skin incision. The thoracostomy tube was removed after creating a negative pressure in the thoracic cavity. Dogs were monitored after surgery for pneumothorax, subcutaneous emphysema, clinical signs including dyspnea, and tube kinking in a muscle tunnel using physical examination and postoperative radiography. There was no tube kinking in the sublatissimal tunnel in 11 dogs on introducing the tubes into the thoracic cavity. The mean (${\pm}SD$) follow-up period was $19{\pm}10$ months. On postoperative radiography, there was no evidence of pneumothorax in 11 dogs. Subcutaneous emphysema was identified around the stab incision in a dog postoperatively. The subcutaneous emphysema disappeared spontaneously within 3 days. On postoperative physical examination, there was no evidence of dyspnea in 11 dogs. Our results suggest that the sublatissimal tunneling technique for thoracostomy tube placement is effective to prevent air leakage around the thoracostomy tube while the tube remains in the thoracic cavity and along the thoracostomy tunnel after tube removal. Tunneling under the latissimus dorsi muscle should be considered the thoracostomy tube placement technique to prevent iatrogenic pneumothorax with first priority.

A study on the smoke control performance of the damper exhaust system at FCEV fire in tunnel for small vehicles (소형차 전용터널 내 수소연료전지차 화재시 집중배기방식의 제연성능에 관한 연구)

  • The road tunnel is a semi-closed space that is blocked on all sides except the entrance and exit, and in the event of a fire, the smoke of the fire spreads longitudinally due to heat buoyancy caused by the fire and air currents that always exist in the tunnel. To solve this problem, smoke removal facilities are installed in road tunnels to secure a safe evacuation environment by controlling the direction of movement of smoke or directly smoking at fire points. In urban areas, the service level of urban roads decreases due to the increase in traffic due to the increase in population, and as a solution, the construction of underground roads in urban areas is increasing. When a fire occurs during hydrogen leakage through TPRD of a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle (FCEV), the fire intensity depends on the amount of leakage, and the maximum fire intensity depends on the orifice diameter of the TPRD. Considering the TPRD orifice diameter of 1.8 mm, this study analyzed the diffusion distance of fire smoke according to the wind speed of the roadway and the opening interval of the large exhaust port when the maximum fire intensity was 15 MW. As a result, it was analyzed that air flow in the tunnel could be controlled if the wind speed of the road in the tunnel was less than 1.25 m/s, and smoke could be controlled within 200 m from the fire if the damper interval was 50 m and 100 m.

Evaluation of Smoke Control Performance of Ventilation System Using by Hot Smoke Test (Hot Smoke Test를 이용한 주차장 환기설비의 제연 성능평가)

  • Recently, in order to overcome the difficulty of entering a fire source due to the occurrence of a large amount of smoke in the event of a fire in a parking lot, it has used that a method of discharge smoke using air supply, exhaust fans and jet fans installed for ventilation of parking lots. In this study, the variation of flow in the smoke layer was observed using CCTV under two conditions, in which only the air supply fan operates and the manned fan operates together, and the temperature around the plume was compared to Albert eq. to assess its suitability as a parking lot ventilation performance evaluation method. As a result, it was found that the smoke layer could be disturbed if the Jet Fan was operated at the same time, which could lead to the possibility of an initial evacuation disturbance. However, the additional operation of the Jet Fan has been confirmed by the observation CCTV that the emission performance is improved, which is believed to help conduct the suppression operation. The temperature around the plume was measured and compared to Alpert eq, and was analyzed to be about $2^{\circ}C$ lower at the center axis of the plume and $9.0^{\circ}C$ higher at 8 m in the direction of the discharge of smoke. The results of temperature measurements around the plume were lower than the maximum temperature expected in AS 4391 and did not exceed the expected temperature risk caused by the experiment. As with these results, the temperature risk from the progression of hot smoke tests is foreseeable, so it will be available as one of the general evaluation methods for assessing smoke control performance in a parking lot without relevant criteria.

Analysis of Ambivalence Differences among Groups for Temporary Firefighting Facilities of Workers at Construction Sites (공사현장 근로자의 임시소방시설에 대한 집단 간 Ambivalence 차이분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to prevent fire accidents in advance by deriving prior knowledge among groups about temporary fire-fighting facilities of workers at construction sites and devising appropriate improvement measures. The findings are as follows.First, in the case of fire extinguishers, statistical attention was paid to the contractor, supervisor, partner worker and fire extinguisher manager between designations. 87% of fire managers and 70% of facility supervisors said fire extinguisher management managers needed to be designated for each type of construction, which requires designation of fire extinguisher management managers, frequently checking and relocating. Second, in the case of simple fire extinguishing facilities, statistical attention was paid to the application of penalties for unauthorized use of fire extinguishing facilities with construction companies, supervisors, and business partners.Third, in the case of emergency alarm measures, statistical attention was paid to the application of emergency alarm sound to temporary broadcasting facilities with construction works, supervisors, and business partners.Fourth, in the case of induction, statistical attention was paid to the application of connection between construction works, supervisors, and partner workers, such as passage guidance, emergency lighting, etc.It was found that 65% of construction workers and 55% of electrical workers had different applications such as aisle guidance and emergency lighting for each type of business partner. In order to resolve blind spots such as evacuation zone guidance due to the structure of the building, it is necessary to easily distinguish the direction of the entrance door from a long distance by applying it in conjunction with passage guidance lights and emergency lighting.
