근접성이 불리한 대학 기숙사의 학생 의용소방대 도입에 관한 연구 (A Study on Introduction of Student Volunteer Fire Department in Dormitory far from Fire Station)

  • 대학 기숙사는 기능이 다양하고 유동인구가 많아 화재발생시 많은 인명피해가 발생할 수 있다. 또한 119 안전센터와 근접성이 불리한 경우 소방대가 골든타임 내에 도착하기 어렵다. 따라서 자체적으로 화재에 대한 대응능력이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 소방차의 현장 근접성이 불리한 강원도 K대학 기숙사 거주자를 대상으로 화재모의실험을 실시하여 재실자의 피난특성을 살펴본 결과 초기화재대응을 위한 기숙사 관리자의 부족과 피난경로의 부족으로 인하여 피난이 지연되었고, 일부 학생은 화재에 대한 의식이 부족한 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 소방대는 골든타임 내에 기숙사에 도착하지 못했다. 따라서 관리자의 부족과 소방대의 근접성이 불리함으로 발생하는 화재대응 문제를 해결하기 위해 학생의용소방대 도입을 제안했다.

THE POTENTIAL OF SATELLITE REMOTE SENSING ON REDUCTION OF TSUNAMI DISASTER

  • It's used to be said that tsunami is a rare event. The recurrence time of tsunami in Sumatra area is approximately 230 years as CalTech Research Group‘s study from paleocoral. However, the tsunami occurred in Indian Ocean on 26 December 2004, 28 March 2005 and 17 July 2006, because the earthquakes still release the energy. To cope with the tsunami disaster, we have to put the much effort on better disaster preparedness. The Tsunami Reduction Of Impacts through three Key Actions (TROIKA) was suggested by Eddie N. Bernard, the director of NOAA/PMEL (Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory). They are Hazard Assessment, Mitigation and Warning Guidance. The satellite remote sensing has potential on these actions. The medium and high resolution satellite data were used to assess the degree of damage at the six-damaged provinces on the Andaman seacoast of Thailand. Fast and reliable interpretation of the damage by remote sensing method can be used for inundation mapping, rehabilitation and housing plans for the victims. For tsunami mitigation, the satellite data can be used with GIS to construct the evacuation map (evacuation route and refuge site) and coastal zone management. It is also helpful for educational program for local residents and school systems. Tsunami is a kind of ocean wave, therefore any satellite sensors such as SAR, Altimeter, MODIS, Landsat, SPOT, IKONOS can detect the tsunami wave in 2004. The satellite images have shown the characteristics of tsunami wave approaching the coast. For warning, satellite data has potential for early warning to detect the tsunami wave in deep ocean, if there are enough satellite constellation to monitor and detect the first tsunami wave like the pressure gauge, seismograph and tide gauge with the DART buoy can do. Moreover, the new methods should be developed to analyse the satellite data more faster for early warning procedure.

철도터널에서 위험인자가 정량적 위험도 평가에 미치는 영향 (The effect of a risk factor on quantitative risk assessment in railway tunnel)

  • 철도터널에 대한 정량적 위험도 평가는 다양한 시나리오를 작성하고 사고발생빈도 및 사고의 결과의 곱으로 위험도를 정량화하는 것이다. 정량적 위험도 평가는 터널제원, 화재특성, 제연방법, 제연과 대피방향의 관계 등 다양한 인자에 의해서 영향을 받는다. 이에 본 연구에서는 터널연장(2, 3, 4, 5, 6 km) 및 경사도(5, 15, 25‰)를 변수로 하여 제연방법 및 제연과 대피방향의 관계가 정량적 위험도 평가에 미치는 영향을 검토하였다. 이 결과로 복선터널 단면(단면적 $97m^2$)에서는 열차화재시 열차중 화재차량의 위치와 무관하게 제연반대방향으로 대피하는 것이 가장 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 또한 이와 같은 조건에서 기계환기시 위험도지수가 자연환기 보다 약 1/10까지 감소하는 것으로 평가되었다.

수치해석을 통한 지하공간의 제연설비 성능기준 검토 (A Study on the Performance Criteria of Smoke Control System for Underground Spaces Through Numerical Analysis)

  • 본 연구에서는 국내 화재 안전 기준 중 제연설비의 성능기준에 의해 지하 공간 건축물이 준공된 후 임의의 지점에서 화재가 발생했을 경우를 모델링하여 연기 확산 현상을 분석하고 제연 설비의 작동에 의한 재실자의 피난시간 연장과의 적정성을 검토하는 것이 목적이다. 본 연구의 선행연구에서는 가연물의 종류와 발열량을 추정하였으며 추정 값의 검토를 위하여 임의의 단일지하상가를 모델링하여 검증하였다. 그리고 지하상가의 제연설비가 작동될 경우와 작동되지 않을 경우에 대한 수치해석 결과를 비교하였으며 재실자의 피난시간을 확보하는 관점에서 화재 안전 기준에 대한 적정성을 검토하였다.

초고층 건축물의 용도별 피난안전구역 성능확보 방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Improvement of the Refuge safety area in High-rise Buildings Type)

  • The purpose of this study was to improve the refuge safety area in the high-rise building type. Each simulation was conducted to evaluate the performance of three types in improving the refuge safety area. Targeting the first 63 floors (no refuge safety area), secondly, to target up to the $30^{th}$ floor (refuge safety area on the $30^{th}$ floor, $47^{th}$ floor) specified in domestic laws, and finally, the $20^{th}$ floor (evacuation safety area on the $20^{th}$ floor, $42^{th}$ floor) were considered as targets. Through this analysis, the following results were obtained : The floor for the refuge safety area through simulations showed that the evacuation time is low. It is necessary to improve the floor for the refuge safety area by using the characteristics of the domestic fire fighting vehicle. The first floor for the refuge safety area from the ground floor differs according to the distance and height of the building floor. However, in the case of a business facility it is 15F, and in the case of apartment housing, it is 20F.

공기구동 기체이젝터의 성능특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Performance Characteristics of Air Driven Gas Ejector)

  • The gas jet pumps serve to preduce a vacuum or can be used as gas jet compressors. These are operated on the same principle as a steam jet vacuum pump : in the driving nozzle the pressure energy of the motive medium is converted into the kinetic energy. In the diffuser the driving jet mixes with the suction medium and the kinetic energy is reconverted into the pressure enegy. The application fields of gas jet ejectors are the evacuation of siphoning installations, the elevation of liquids, the production of vacuum filters, the vacuum supporting airlift system, the evacuation of the suction line of centrifugal pumps and the ventilation of the dangerous gases to the atmosphere. The performance of gas jet ejector is influenced strongly to velocity coefficient of motive nozzle, the distance between the motive outlet to the diffuser inlet and the dimensions of diffuser. This study is performed for the computer aided design of gas jet ejectors in future. Through the present experiments, it is known that the velocity coefficient of the motive air nozzle ranges from 0.91 to 0.95 and the maximum efficiency of gas jet ejector is 24.6%.

Simulation of outgassing effects of vacuum materials on vacuum characteristics

  • The outgassing effects of selected vacuum materials on the vacuum characteristics were simulated by the $VacSim^{Multi}$ simulation tool. This investigation examined the feasibility of reliably simulating the outgassing characteristics of common vacuum chamber materials (aluminum, copper, stainless steel, nickel plated steel, Viton A). The optimum design factors for these vacuum systems were suggested based on the simulation results. The baking-out effects of the modeled systems and materials on the performance of the vacuum system were also analyzed. The simulation predicted that the overall outgassing effect was more significant in the TMP system than in the DP system and that the utilization of a booster pump has a greater effect on the evacuation time than on the ultimate pressure.
