In the development of policies and projects for regional development, consolidating region's organization and organizational leadership that could establish and operate voluntary developmental plans along with active participations by regional people are important. There have been successful cases of regional agricultural products emphasizing regional characteristics by strengthening functions and autonomy of the local government based on the premise of increasing mealable relationship among local industries and maximizing the characteristics of local resources and local resource utilization. However, effective pursuing is difficult due to lack of organization and leadership. Centering around local units with their importance recognized playing the core role in the development of rural areas, other important issues are activating civic organizations essential for local development based on town units and agricultural amenity resources in rural areas by seeking methods of rearing organizational leadership, improving rural incomes by strengthening local competitiveness through environmentally-friendly agricultural products based on local units, and developing and activating farm experience related with green tour. The types of organization and leaders are analyzed by investigating approved cases of farm experience. According to the results of the analysis, we seek the methods of promoting organizations and leaders for promoting farm experiences in villages and methods of constructing support organizations for promoting farm experience centering around local government units (such as city, Kun, Eup, Myun and village).
New electroluminescence polymer, poly(5,10-dihexyl-5,10-dihydroindolo[3,2-b]indole-2,7-diyl) (PININO) was synthesized by Yamamoto conditions with Ni(0) catalyst. The full characterization of structures and properties as well as the performances of the electroluminescence devices of the new polymer are presented. The resulting polymer, which exhibits good solubility in common organic solvents, was used as the electroluminescence layer for the light-emitting diodes (LEDs) (ITO/PEDOT/polymer/Al). PININO shows turn-on voltage of 2.5 V, and electroluminescence (EL) with maximum peak at 490 nm, maximum brightness of 40 cd/$m^{2}$ at 8 V, and efficiency of 0.002 cd/A at 350 mA/$cm^{2}$.
The synthesis of copolymers containing thiophene and benzimidazole unit by Stille polymerization is reported. The polymers with many unsubstituted thiophene units in the backbone have been reported to show low solubility, which has been a problem for spin-coating for the device fabrication. In dihexyl-2H-benzimidazole, the sulfur at 2-position of BT unit was replaced with dialkyl substituted carbon, while keeping the 1,2-quinoid form, to improve the solubility of the polymers. The PL emission spectra of the PHBIT1, PHBIT2 and PHBIT3 in chloroform solutions show maximum peaks at 500~561 nm. In thin films, maximum peaks of the PHBITs appeared at 529, 562 and 569 nm, respectively. The EL emission maxima of the PHBIT1 and PHBIT2 appear at around 588 and 576 nm, respectively. The current density and maximum luminescence of the LED with the configuration of ITO/PEDOT/ PHBIT2/Ca/Al are 552 mA/$cm^2$ and 46 cd/$m^2$, respectively.
Adult chironomids were collected at Dangsan-ri, Muju-eup, Muju-gun, Jeollabuk-do on 5 September 2008, 22 May 2009 and 28 August 2009. A total of 221 specimens belong to the genus Polypedilum Kieffer from 1,113 adult midges collected were morphologically examined, and 16 Polypedilum species were identified. One species is new (Polypedilum dangsanensis Ree et Jeong sp. nov.) and eight species are newly recorded in Korea (P. asakawasense, P. convictum, P. decematogutatus, P. japonicum, P. kamotertium, P. pullum, P. serugense, and P. unifascium). These nine species are described with illustrations. Polypedilum nubifer was the most frequently collected species, consisting of 25.8% of the Polypedilum samples.
In this study, 6-10 clinically healthy farmed abalone, Haliotis discus hannai were obtained from Jeollanam-Do Wando Soan-myeon, Bogil-myeon, and Nohwa-eup monthly for 1 year 7 months and were examined histopathologically. As a result, the adductor muscle had severe cellular swelling and myonecrosis. These lesions were stained with hematoxylin and eosin and Giemsa. The lesions were not caused by infection of bacteria or parasites. We investigated the relationship between lesion frequency and water temperature and discovered that increased water temperature was associated with increasing lesion frequency. As water temperature is related to growth rate, increased growth rate was closely related to increased lesion frequency. We considered that these lesions could be a useful factor in measuring shellfish health.
The human nose is located in the center of the face and it's cosmetic importance is high. The contour of the nasal dorsum and side walls play a major role in the shaping of the nose, and even a slight distortion may results in significant variance of the human facies. However, in the case of patients with wide nasal bone, augmention rhinoplasty can make nasal planes look wide, resulting in bulbous appearing noses or lateral borders of the nasal implant may be visible after the surgery making the final cosmetic results unsatisfactory. To solve such problems, from march, 1999 to march, 2004, the authors have performed augmention rhinoplasty in 36 patients. The cause of operations were as follows: flat nose 20, hump nose 5, deviated nose 4, secondary rhinoplasty 7. Paramedian osteotomy was performed at a distance that was the same as the width of the implant from the midline(5 mm + 5 mm). To prevent it from connecting to the roof at the lateral osteotomy line, intentional green stick fracture of the roof was performed. Agumentation rhinoplasty was done with either Silicone or Gortex and ear cartilage as a supplement. The follow up period was 2 weeks to 13 months with an average of 5.5 months. There were no infections and postoperative bleeding. As a result, the nose was augmented higher and narrower than before which we and the patient both found highly satisfactory.
This survey was carried out to obtain an information for the improvement of nutrition and the enlightment of dietary life in a near by area of DMZ during the later part of July, 1981. A total of 50 households were selected from Tonghyun-ri, Yunchun-eup, Yunchun, Gyunggi province. As a results of survey, the average intake of vegetable food was as high as 98% and that of the protein intake of good quality was not sufficient. Generally energy and nutrition intake were higher than the recommended dietary allowances and national nutrition survey data of Korean. There were no remarkable clinical symptoms related with nutritional deficiency on the entire target, but were some clinical symptoms related with vitamin deficiency on the children. The housewives lived at target area have a tendency to like the food which they are sued to eat daily and that food was mostly self-supplyed.
This study analyzed the velocimetry of runoff and measured the flood discharge by applying the SIV (Surface Image Velocimetrer) to the daytime and nighttime flow image data with special reference to Seong-eup Bridge at Cheonmi stream of Jeju during the flow by the severe rainstorm on May 27, 2013. A 1000W lighting apparatus with more than 150 lux was installed in order to collect proper nighttime flow image applied to the SIV. Its value was compared and analyzed with the velocity value of the fixed electromagnetic wave surface velocimetry (Kalesto) at the same point to check the accuracy and applicability of the measured velocity of flow. As a result, determination coefficient $R^2$ values were 0.891 and 0.848 respectively in line with the velocity distribution of the daytime and nighttime image and the flow volume measured with Kalesto was approximately 18.2% larger than the value measured with the SIV.
Sinkholes are key karst landforms that primarily evolve through the dissolution of limestone, and it posing a significant threat to roads, buildings, and other man-made structures. This study aims to analyze the area susceptible to sinkhole development using GIS and to identify potential danger area from sinkholes. Eight sinkhole related factors (slope angle, distance to caves, distance to faults, bedrock lithology, soil depth, drainage class, distance to mines, and distance to traffic routes) were constructed as spatial databases with sinkhole inventory. Based on the spatial database, sinkhole susceptibility maps were produced using nearest neighbor distance and frequency ratio models. The maps were verified with prediction rate curve and area under curve. The result indicates that the nearest neighbor distance and frequency ratio models predicted 95.3% and 94.4% of possible sinkhole locations respectively. Furthermore, to identify potential sinkhole danger area, the susceptibility map was compared with population distribution and land use map. It has been found that very highly susceptible areas are along Osipcheon and southeast southwest part of Hajang-myeon and south part of Gagok-myeon of Samcheok-si. Among those areas, it has been identified that potential sinkhole danger areas are Gyo-dong, Seongnae-dong, Jeongna-dong, Namyang-dong and Dogye-eup. These results can be useful in the aspects of land use planning and hazard prevention and management.
This study aims to empirically identify the effect of spatial accessibility, based on travel, on housing prices in the Korean capital region. More specifically, it has two research purposes: First, investigating the effect of comprehensive spatial accessibility, based on road network and actual trips from origin to destination, on average apartment price (Korean Won per square meter) at the level of Eup, Myeon and Dong; Second, identifying better accessibility index between Hansen's and Kalogirou and Foley's ones. The former represents a road-based travel time decay function with destination trips, while the latter is a function with origin trips as well as destination ones. The study employs spatial economic models considering spatial auto-correlative relationship as an appropriate methodology with such control independent indicators as population density, road density, educational environment and distances from CBDs. Analysis results demonstrate that spatial accessibility, based on road network and actual trips from origin to destination, has a statistically significant impacts on housing price in the region. Our empirical evidence proves that the Hansen index is more appropriate than the other in estimating housing price impacts.
