Implementation of Embedded Educational Router System (임베디드 교육용 라우터 실습장비의 구현)

  • This paper presents the design of the educational router system. This system is designed and implemented to support network configuration and embedded programming technology of the user on Internet. Not only Static routing protocol but also a kind of dynamic routing protocols such as OSPF and RIP and firewall have been programmed for education based on ethernet interface. ADS 1.2 as debugging environment, uC/OS-ii as RTOS and C language as development language are used. The educational procedures is compile, loading of static routing protocol, a kind of dynamic routing protocols such as OSPF and RIP and firewall program already supplied. Thereafter the verification is checked by using "ping" test to allow for demo operation such as hands-on training procedure. Finally programming procedure similar with demo operation of static routing protocol, a kind of dynamic routing protocols such as OSPF and RIP and packet filtering function is educated step by step.

Study on Sensitivity of Burst-Mode Optical Receiver Depending on Photodiode Capacitance (포토다이오드의 정전용량에 따른 버스트모드 광 수신소자의 수신감도 연구)

  • This study was carried out to commercialize FTTH by developing a burst mode optical receiver for E-PON. The optical receiver was manufactured by minimizing the capacitance of a photodiode to improve sensitivity for meeting 10, 20 km OLT Rx standard of E-PON at the transmission speed of 1.25 Gb/s. When bit-error ratio is $10^{-12}$ and PRBS is $2^5-1$, sensitivity is -26 dBm, loud/soft ratio is 23 dB. Both preamble time and guard time were set to 102.4 ns (128 bit). After comparing a photodiode whose capacitance is 0.53 pF with another photodiode whose capacitance has been minimized to 0.26 pF, we could see that sensitivity improved to 0.7 dBm and so did bandwidth to 190 MHz of burst mode for the optical receiver manufactured by the photodiode whose capacitance is 0.26 pF.

  • Objectives of shipboard integration networks are to exchange and manage integrated information. Shipboard integration networks use UDP(User Datagram Protocol) multicast for the exchange of information. However, such information can be missed or damaged because UDP can't guarantee reliability. The standard of shipboard integration networks defines error log functions for the missed or damaged information. In this paper, we analyze internal and external log functions. The internal log function records errors internally, and the external log function sends error messages to a log server and records them in a database. We also develop a log processing module and log server for the external log function.

  • The traditional communication protocols such as TCP/IP are not suitable for PC cluster systems because of their high software processing overhead. To eliminate this overhead, industry leaders have defined the Virtual Interface Architecture (VIA). VIA provides two different data transfer mechanisms, a traditional Send/Receive model and the Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) model. RDMA is extremely efficient way to reduce software overhead because it can bypass the OS and use the network interface controller (NIC) directly for communication, also bypass the CPU on the remote host. In this paper, we have implemented VIA-based RDMA mechanism in hardware. Compared to the traditional Send/Receive model, the RDMA mechanism improves latency and bandwidth. Our RDMA mechanism can also communicate without using remote CPU cycles. Our experimental results show a minimum latency of 12.5${\mu}\textrm{s}$ and a maximum bandwidth of 95.5MB/s. As a result, our RDMA mechanism allows PC cluster systems to have a high performance communication method.

A Novel Mobility Management Scheme for Time Sensitive Communications in 5G-TSN

  • In this paper, we present and analyze 5G system and IEEE time-sensitive networking(TSN) and propose a novel mobility management scheme for time sensitive communications in 5G-TSN to support ultra-low latency networks. Time-sensitive networking(TSN) has a promising future in the Industrial Automation and Industrial Internet of Things(IIoT), as a key technology that is able to provide low-latency, high-reliable and deterministic communications over the Ethernet. When a TSN capable UE moves the TSN service coverage from the non-TSN service coverage, the UE cannot get the TSN service promptly because the related mobility management is not performed appropriately. For the mobility situation with the TSN service coverage, the proposed scheme reports TSN capability to the network and triggers the initial registration in order to be provided the TSN service immediately and ultra-low latency communications compared to existing schemes in 5G mobile networks.

  • Conventional fire fighting robots are controlled by a remote control to monitor the fire scene or to suppress the fire. However, this method has a problem that it takes a long time to prepare robot and input it to fire place in the golden time after the fire, so that it can not sufficiently serve as a fire fighting robot. Using the autonomous driving fire monitoring robot, when a fire signal is generated, in conjunction with a fire receiver a moving robot takes a video of the fire scene and delivers the image to the fire department, so that the fire fighter can decide if it is real fire or not. Thereby it is possible to prevent a sudden spread of an accident by providing a quick judgment opportunity and at the same time suppressing the fire early. In this paper, we propose an architecture of the autonomous mobile fire monitoring robot and the communication protocol required for the robot to work with the fire receiver. A communication protocol is designed to control multiple fire monitoring robots in real time, and a communication with a fire receiver is designed as a hierarchical network to serve as an interface of an Ethernet network using wireless Wi-Fi. The fire monitoring robot and the wireless communication of the fire receiving period are implemented and the effectiveness of the operation is confirmed through the field test.

  • The speed of present-day network technology exceeds a gigabit and is developing rapidly. When using TCP/IP in these high-speed networks, a high load is incurred in processing TCP/IP protocol in a host CPU. To solve this problem, research has been carried out into TCP/IP Offload Engine (TOE). The TOE processes TCP/IP on a network adapter instead of using a host CPU; this reduces the processing burden on the host CPU. In this paper, we developed two software-based TOEs. One is the TOE implementation using an embedded Linux. The other is the TOE implementation using Lightweight TCP/IP (lwIP). The TOE using an embedded Linux did not have the bandwidth more than 62Mbps. To overcome the poor performance of the TOE using an embedded Linux, we ported the lwIP to the embedded system and enhanced the lwIP for the high performance. We eliminated the memory copy overhead of the lwIP. We added a delayed ACK and a TCP Segmentation Offload (TSO) features to the lwIP and modified the default parameters of the lwIP for large data transfer. With the aid of these modifications, the TOE using the modified lwIP shows a bandwidth of 194 Mbps.

Development of a Real-time OS Based Control System for Laparoscopic Surgery Robot (복강경 수술로봇을 위한 실시간 운영체제 기반 제어 시스템의 개발)

  • This paper reports on a realtime OS based master-slave configuration robot control system for laparoscopic surgery robot which enables telesurgery and overcomes shortcomings with conventional laparoscopic surgery. Surgery robot system requires control system that can process large volume information such as medical image data and video signal from endoscope in real-time manner, as well as precisely control the robot with high reliability. To meet the complex requirements, the use of high-level real-time OS (Operating System) in surgery robot controller is a must, which is as common as in many of modem robot controllers that adopt real-time OS as a base system software on which specific functional modules are implemened for more reliable and stable system. The control system consists of joint controllers, host controllers, and user interface units. The robot features a compact slave robot with 5 DOF (Degree-Of-Freedom) expanding the workspace of each tool and increasing the number of tools operating simultaneously. Each master, slave and Gill (Graphical User Interface) host runs a dedicated RTOS (Real-time OS), RTLinux-Pro (FSMLabs Inc., U.S.A.) on which functional modules such as motion control, communication, video signal integration and etc, are implemented, and all the hosts are in a gigabit Ethernet network for inter-host communication. Each master and slave controller set has a dedicated CAN (Controller Area Network) channel for control and monitoring signal communication with the joint controllers. Total 4 pairs of the master/slave manipulators as current are controlled by one host controller. The system showed satisfactory performance in both position control precision and master-slave motion synchronization in both bench test and animal experiment, and is now under further development for better safety and control fidelity for clinically applicable prototype.

  • In this paper, we have implemented UPnP Devices which emulate a Control Point, a Light Controller, and a Digital TV. The Control Point has been developed on Linux host system by using C language. The UPnP Devices emulating the Digital TV and Light Controller are running on embedded linux developer board. For the development of UPnP Devices, UPnP SDK API Vl.04 made by Intel Co. Ltd. has been ported on Assabet Linux Reference board to implement the UPnP protocol. After we analyze and design some services of Digital TV device, we have applied UPnP Device program to those devices. UPnP SDK vl .04 consists of APIs which support HTTP, SSDP, SOAP, GENA and XML DOM Level-1 that are cores of UPnP protocol. The C program written for the UPnP Control Point has been compiled and executed on Linux-based PC. The embedded system running on Embedded Linux OS has been connected all together through Ethernet which allows IP-based communications. Under this environment, the UPnP programs are being executed on each device. Control Point, when in operational mode, discovers UPnP Devices on the network and displays the device list on the consol. By selecting one of the functionalities of the device services that are displayed on the Control Point, the controllability has been accomplished. The experiment that we performed in this thesis have revealed that the Control Point and UPnP Devices have supported the protocols including SSDP, SOAP, GENA, and DHCP.

On Supporting Internet Integrated Servies over Token Ring and Ethernet (토큰링과 이더넷에서의 인터넷 통합서비스지원)

  • 인터넷에서 통합서비스를 제공하기 위해서는 종단간 다양한 QoS를 지원해야 하는데 이를 위해서는 인터넷뿐 아니라 종단 사용자와 인터넷을 연결하는 랜에서의 QoS 지원이 필요하다. 이에, IETF는 특정 링크 계층으로 구성되는 서브넷에서 QoS 지원을 위한 기본 골격을 제안하였다. 그런데 , 매체 접근방식에 따라 서브넷이 제공할 수 있는 서비스의 정도가 크게 달라지기 때문에 실제로 IS802 모델을 특정서브넷에 구현하기 위해서는 이에 대한 고려가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 통합서비스를 지원하기 위한 기반이 되는 서브넷 차원에서의 우선순위 지원을 목표로 IS802 모델을 전통적인 이더넷과 토큰링에 적용하여 보았다. 먼저, IS802 모델의 대역폭관리자를 적용한 이더넷 IS모델과 토큰링_IS 모델의 구현을 제안하고 특별히, 이더넷의 경우 매체 접근 방식의 특성상 IS802 모델의 적용만으로는 서브넷차원에서의 우선순위에 따른 전송을 지원할 수 없기 때문에 이를 보완하기 위한 페이즈 모델을 추가로 제안하였다. 시뮬레이션을 통해 기존의 전통적인 이더넷과 토큰링 및 새롭게 표준화된 IS802 모델을 적용한 이더넷 _IS와 토큰링 _IS, 그리고 페이즈 모델간의 성능을 비교하였다. 시뮬레이션결과 토큰링의 경우 단순한 입장 제어에 의해서도 QoS 지원 정도가 크게 향상될수 있음을 볼 수 있었다. 또한 , 페이즈 모델의 경우 이더넷의 매체 접근 방식을 상당히 보완함으로써 QoS 지원 정도가 크게 향상될 수 있음을 볼 수 있었다. 또한, 페이즈 모델의 경우 이더넷의 매체 접근 방식을 상당히 보완함으로써 QoS 지원을 요구하는 플로우에대해서는 전통적인 이더넷이나 이더넷_IS 비해 훨씬 안정적인 서브넷 차원의 우선순위지원 서비스를 제공할 수 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.제공하는 멀티미디어 동기화 편집기와 변환기 및 상영기를 ScriptX를 이용하여 Windows95 상에 구현하였다.기 위한 간단한 例를 들어 봄으로써 이 글을 쓰는 동기으 일면을 대신하고자 한다.置함으로 이것을 Multi-Drop(points) system으로 swiching System을 利用 Mini-Network을 構成할 수도 있다.크 구성 관리 서버 시스템 개발에 대한 비용을 줄일 수 있다. 기대된다.e 함량이 대체로 높게 나타났다. 점미가 수가용성분에서 goucose대비 용출함량이 고르게 나타나는 경향을 보였고 흑미는 알칼리가용분에서 glucose가 상당량(0.68%) 포함되고 있음을 보여주었고 arabinose(0.68%), xylose(0.05%)도 다른 종류에 비해서 다량 함유한 것으로 나타났다. 흑미는 총식이섬유 함량이 높고 pectic substances, hemicellulose, uronic acid 함량이 높아서 콜레스테롤 저하 등의 효과가 기대되며 고섬유식품으로서 조리 특성 연구가 필요한 것으로 사료된다.리하였다. 얻어진 소견(所見)은 다음과 같았다. 1. 모년령(母年齡), 임신회수(姙娠回數), 임신기간(姙娠其間), 출산시체중등(出産時體重等)의 제요인(諸要因)은 주산기사망(周産基死亡)에 대(對)하여 통계적(統計的)으로 유의(有意)한 영향을 미치고 있어 $25{\sim}29$세(歲)의 연령군에서, 2번째 임신과 2번째의 출산에서 그리고 만삭의 임신 기간에, 출산시체중(出産時體重) $3.50{\sim}3.99kg$사이의 아이에서 그 주산기사망률(周産基死亡率)이 각각 가장 낮았다. 2. 사산(死産)과 초생아사망(初生兒死亡)을 구분(區分)하여 고려해 볼때 사산(死産)은 모성(母性)의 임신력(姙娠歷)
