개조 항공기 감항성 설계연구 (Airworthiness Design Study for the Modified Aircraft)

  • Airworthiness certification is a repeatable process implemented to verify that a specific aircraft can be safely maintained and operated within its approved flight envelope. Airworthiness certification activity for the FA-50 aircraft has been performed according to the Airworthiness Certification Criteria, issued in 2011 by DAPA. It is a right time to study the application of those existing ACC process and tools to the hypothetical modification aircraft. This paper describes airworthiness engineers view of the integrated activities required to substantiate the modified aircraft performance. The compliance methods applicable to the airworthiness certification criteria is also suggested. It will be useful for the establishment of the future Korea modified military aircraft's ACC with the risk assessment and methods of compliances tailored to the legacy aircraft.

기존선 교량구간의 장대레일화 방안 연구 (A study on constructing CWR for railroad on bridges)

  • The CWR, when installed on the bridge, may introduce extra responses in displacement, stress etc. due to the expansion of bridge girders. To release these responses, a special concern must be put on the CWR on bridges, especially for the long span bridges. Since the risk of derailment of vehicle due to buckling or breakout of the rails on bridges is of importance, the establishment of appropriate guidelines to check the performance of CWR on bridges is crucial for safe operation of train. In this study, using the program CWRAP, specialized for response of rails on bridges, several schemes for constructing CWR on bridges are suggested. In audition, a special concern is given to the bridge with sharp curve which is vulnerable to buckling due to temperature loads.

  • If examining utilization by completion of National Competency Standards development, efforts are made so as to organize curriculum matched to education or training and perform subjects based on competence unit educationally in specialized high schools, colleges and university. However, National Competency Standards is insignificantly utilized in enterprises and on the spot due to characteristics of occupation type and diversity of process. This thesis intended to measures of safety efficiency improvement of final enterprise through the human resources assessment system of National Competency Standards based enterprise. Therefore, various methodologies were introduced and results of analysis by Balanced ScoreCard method were suggested for policy measures improving final safety efficiency. The results of this analysis are expected to make contribution to improving the effectiveness of the government's industrial safety and health policies through the establishment of systematic safety and health systems according to the risk level of individual business.

  • A small number of viable tuberculosis bacilli can reside in an individual with latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) without obvious clinical symptoms or abnormal chest radiographs. Diagnosis and treatment for LTBI are important for tuberculosis (TB) control in public and private health, especially in high-risk populations. The updated 2014 Korean guidelines for TB recommend that tuberculin skin tests, interferon-gamma release assays, or a combination of the two can be used for LTBI diagnosis according to age and immune status of the host as well as TB contact history. The regimens for LTBI treatment include isoniazid, rifampicin, or isoniazid/rifampicin. However, results of drug susceptibility test from the index case must be considered in selecting the appropriate drug for recent contacts. Standardized LTBI diagnosis and treatment based on the new 2014 guidelines will contribute to the effective TB control in Korea as well as to the establishment of updated guidelines.

  • 현대사회는 복지국가를 지향하는 경향이 강화되면서 고위험사회로서 치닫고 있다. 이러한 사회변화의 추세는 안전에 대한 국민의 관심과 정부의 정책변화를 요구하기 시작했다. 재난으로 부터 안전을 지키기 위한 노력의 일환으로 체험학습이 중요한 요소로 등장하기도 한다. 이런 사회적 관심의 변화는 박물관을 통한 체험학습으로 그 목적을 이룰 수 있다. 그동안 우리의 관심 밖에 있던 소방유물에 대한 관심과 소방기본법에 명시된 소방박물관 설립에 관한 조항이 소방유물에 관심을 갖도록 하였다. 비록 짧은 소방역사를 재조명하고, 관련 유물을 찾아 보관과 전시를 통한 체험 학습장으로 박물관의 필요성이 강조되었다. 본 연구는 소방박물관 설립의 필요성과 전시에 필요한 소방유물을 분류하여 전시 가치를 높이는 방안을 제시하고자 시작하였다.

  • Recently, a bed company's product has detected a certain level of radon or higher, making it a popular search word on portal sites. Because of this problem, people are becoming more interested in radon. The government plans to support the establishment of a radon alert system for households through a radon concentration survey of 10,000 households. The use of palm charcoal as an indoor finishing material will reduce the risk of lung cancer through radon reduction. The experiment used a method of replacing palm activated carbon with blast furnace slag, and the adsorption performance of radon tends to increase as the replacement rate of palm activated carbon increases.

  • As the main aim of infectious disease epidemiology is to prevent a pathogen transmission, traditional epidemiological studies have focused on the evaluation of individual-level risk factors. But group-level factors as well as individual-level are important in understanding and controlling transmission of infectious diseases, especially sex-transmitted infectious diseases. Multi-level analysis (MLA) is known as a powerful analytical tool for investigating both levels simultaneously. While new cases of HIV/AIDS in Korea are increasing annually, it is urgently needed to establish research system for MLA led by Korea Centers for Disease Control & Prevention.

  • When a children's school bus stops on the road, the operator enables an amber flashing light (indicating stopping or slowing) or a red flashing light (indicating that children are getting on and off). Drivers of vehicles passing by the stopped school bus, as well as vehicles in adjacent lanes to the school bus must stop temporarily. However, many drivers are not aware of the laws and do not comply with them, so children are exposed to an increased risk of being hit, especially at night as the color recognition of the vehicle is significantly lower than during the day. In our experiments, messages and shapes using light were projected to the front and rear of a parked school bus, in addition to its red lights flashing.

  • In the current world, with the massive scale of SOC construction, it is difficult to diagnose and check all of a bridge's abnormal states with even the experts' eyes for maintenance. It is because we should spend huge costs and time on maintenance. Still, there are not many alternative ways to inspect bridges remotely regarding accuracy or reality. Therefore, we remark on the advantages and disadvantages of previous methods through practices in SOC maintenance. To inspect the abnormal state of the Bridge, we suggest inspecting bridges with an Augmented Reality (AR) mechanism to reduce cost, human resource consumption, and the risk of work. Through the proposed approach, we expect that it provides ways to solve massive construction problems with software-based technologies.
