한국과 홍콩 예비교사의 학교수학에 대한 이해 분석 연구 (Korean and Hong Kong Student Teachers' Content Knowledge for Teaching Mathematics)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 한국과 홍콩 초등학교 예비교사들의 학교수학에 대한 이해 정도를 조사하고, 교사교육 과정에서 강조되어야 할 지식의 성격에 대한 시사점을 얻기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 초등학교 수학 교수(敎授)와 관련되면서 '무엇을', '왜', '어떻게'의 측면을 포괄하는 다섯 개의 문항을 선정하고, 한국과 홍콩의 초등학교 예비교사를 대상으로 심층면접을 실시하였다. 면접 결과 한국과 홍콩의 초등학교 예비교사들은 학교 수학의 원리에 대해 충분히 이해하고 있지 못하며, 초등학교 수학을 중등학교 수학 및 대학 수준의 수학과 연결시켜 이해하는 능력이 부족한 것으로 나타났다. 이 결과에 비추어볼 때 초등학교 예비교사 교육에서 더욱 강조되어야 할 것은 중등학교 및 대학 수준의 수학을 초등학교 수학과 연계시키는 것이라고 할 수 있다.

Current Mechanistic Approaches to the Chemoprevention of Cancer

  • The prevention of cancer is one of the most important public health and medical practices of the $21^{st}$ century. We have made much progress in this new emerging field, but so much remains to be accomplished before widespread use and practice become common place. Cancer chemoprevention encompasses the concepts of inhibition, reversal, and retardation of the cancer process. This process, called carcinogenesis, requires 20-40 years to reach the endpoint called invasive cancer. It typically follows multiple, diverse and complex pathways in a stochastic process of clonal evolution. These pathways appear amenable to inhibition, reversal or retardation at various points. We must therefore identify key pathways in the evolution of the cancer cell that can be exploited to prevent this carcinogenesis process. Basic research is identifying many genetic lesions and epigenetic processes associated with the progression of precancer to invasive disease. Many of these early precancerous lesions favor cell division over quiescence and protect cells against apoptosis when signals are present. Many oncogenes are active during early development and are reactivated in adulthood by aberrant gene promoting errors. Normal regulatory genes are mutated, making them insensitive to normal regulatory signals. Tumor suppressor genes are deleted or mutated rendering them inactive. Thus there is a wide range of defects in cellular machinery which can lead to evolution of the cancer phenotype. Mistakes may not have to appear in a certain order for cells to progress along the cancer pathway. To conquer this diverse disease, we must attack multiple key pathways at once for a predetermined period of time. Thus, agent combination prevention strategies are essential to decrease cancer morbidity. Furthermore, each cancer type may require custom combination of prevention strategies to be successful.

간호대학생의 임상시험실무역량강화를 위한 '임상연구관리' 교과목 개발 (Development of Clinical Research Management: Enhancement of Nursing Students' Clinical Competency in Handling Clinical Trials)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to develop a new course entitled 'Clinical Research Management' to enhance nursing students' clinical competency in handling clinical trials. Methods: The goals and content of the existing current education program for clinical research professionals such as clinical research coordinators and clinical research associates provided by the Korea National Enterprise for Clinical Trials were analyzed to identify the core educational concepts. A focus group interview was performed to investigate essential competency levels for the professionals who were to begin their career in the area of clinical trials after graduating from the college of nursing. Through these initial processes, we identified the core competency required for clinical research professionals and the related course content. Goals and objectives based on the specified four competencies were set and confirmed by expertise review. Results: We developed a new course entitled Clinical Research Management, a 16-week elective subject consisting of various teaching and learning strategies based on four core competencies: basic knowledge on clinical trials, communication, risk management, and ethics. Conclusion: The results of this study will contribute to enhancing nursing students' clinical competency, including knowledge, skills, and attitudes relevant to clinical trials.

김종성과 승효상 작품의 허공에서 표현되는 치유성에 관한 비교연구 (A Comparative Study on the Sense of Healing expressed in the Void Space of Jong-soung Kimm and Hyo-sang Seung's works)

  • The criterion of 'void space' in this paper is based on the sense of unusual experiences to afford the improvement of the value of cultural life with the sense of Healing. The more chances to spiritual converse with nature and oneself, the higher the value of healing experiences that one has will grow. This analysis has been done on the premises that this is derived from the inner conversation with 'nature' and 'oneself', as well as among 'others'. In other words, while the 'community void' affords programmatic aspect in relations between humans, the 'ecological void', systemic aspect in relations between human and nature, the 'meditation void', the aspect of image in relations between human and human's inside. Jong-soung Kimm and Hyo-sang Seung are Korean architects who have consistently expressed contrastive essential characteristics of the 'void space' in their contemporary works. While the void space of contemporary Korean architectures have shown various external forms, there has been a trace deeply rooted from the absolute and neutral concepts of the masters of Modern architects and 'Madang'of Korean traditional space. The integrated composition in the works of Jong-soung Kimm suggested integrated characters and healing affordances of 'Madang', but it hardly showed the poetic simplicity that could be seen from the image of traditional 'Madang'. On the other hand, the works of Hyo-sang Seung represented the simple and silent image of 'Madang', but showed fragmented characteristics that didn't sufficiently afford the integrated healing functions of 'Madang'.

우리나라의 차세대 자유비행 인프라구축 전략에 관한 연구 (A Study for Master plan of Infrastructure Establishment of Next Generation Free Flight Concept)

  • International organizations related to air transport such as ICAO, IATA, ACI are forecasting that the number of passenger will grow about 4.4% annually up to 2015. Therefore, the innovation of given system technology and operation procedure is required in global scale to cope with the increase of air traffic demand. CNS/ATM infrastructure based on satellite is considered to play key role in order to solve the problems due to the dramatic increase of air traffic demand over the world. Free flight concept in the air transport operation has been proved with CNS/ATM infrastructure especially in USA and Europe. Therefore, it is necessary to develop key technologies to overcome technology gap and to secure international competitiveness in Korea. ADS-B is an important issue, and new element technologies should be considered as essential items which were shown in Capstone project. Nowadays, the free flight concept is combined to Air Transport Road Map such as NextGen project in USA, SESAR in Europe. In this process, free flight is included in the concepts such as ATM(Air Traffic Management), aviation security and safety, environmental protection and economy development, wide area weather variable reduction service, information integration and application between the related authorities (civil/military) etc. The purpose of research is to establish mid-term and long-term infrastructure plan and strategy for free flight realization in Korea. The analysis of action target and equipment construction status, phase construction plan of infrastructure has been performed by considering mid-term and long-term free flight plans of USA and Europe.

LIDAR 자료를 이용한 DTM 생성 정확도 평가 (Accuracy Assessment of DTM Generation Using LIDAR Data)

  • 가상공간 시현이나 GIS 및 이동통신과 같은 다양한 응용분야에 정확한 3차원 도시모델은 기본적인 자료가 되고 있다. 수동적인 3차원 자료 구축은 시간과 경비측면에서 비효율적이기 때문에 LIDAR는 DTM을 취득하는데 새로운 기술로 각광받고 있다. 본 연구에서는 필터링을 이용하여 지면과 비지면점을 추출하기 위한 방법을 제시하였고, 지면점으로부터 DU을 생성하여 정확도를 평가하였다. 그 동안 많은 필터기법들이 개발되어 왔지만 필터링의 자료처리특성을 분석하기 위해 높이차에 근거한 필터, 경사에 근거한 필터, 모폴로지에 근거한 필터 등 3가지 필터를 선택하고, 고층아파트지역과 저층주거지역에 적용하여 정확도를 평가하였다. 그 결과, LIDAR 자료로부터 취득된 DTM의 정확도는 고층아파트지역에서 0.16m, 저층아파트지 역에서 0.59m로 나타났으며, 도시지역의 정밀DTM 생성에 있어서 LIDAR자료의 활용이 기대된다

핵심정보 중심 건강 메시지 디자인을 위한 웹진 내용분석 (Content Analysis of Webzine for Gist-based Health Message Design)

  • 건강 관련 정보들이 범람하는 인터넷에서 핵심정보를 효과적으로 전달하는 것은 매우 중요하다. 본 연구는 웹진 건강자료에 나타난 건강 메시지의 특성을 분석하고 핵심정보를 효과적으로 전달하기 위한 디자인방법을 모색하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 식품의약품안정처에서 제공하는 총 72개 건강자료의 내용을 텍스트와 시각자료로 구분하여 '건강 메시지의 내용', '핵심정보의 빈도와 위치', '직관적 표현'을 중심으로 분석하였고, 특성에 따라 건강자료의 유형을 구분하기 위해 군집분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과 건강 관련 텍스트는 주로 사실과 방법에 관한 내용으로 구성되어 있고, 시각자료는 주로 개념에 집중되어 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 텍스트와 시각자료 모두 핵심정보를 효과적으로 제시하는데 미흡한 점이 발견되었으며, 전문용어와 수량정보에 대한 직관성을 높이기 위한 방법을 모색하는 것이 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 연구결과에 기반하여 인터넷에서 효과적으로 핵심정보 중심의 건강자료를 디자인하기 위해서 고려해야 할 점을 제안하였다.

근대 사회이론의 접합을 통한 지역지리학의 새로운 방법론 (Modern Social Theories and New Regional Geography)

  • 본 연구는 1980년대 이후 주로 영어권 국가들에서 논의되고 있는 지역지리 연구의 새로운 논의들을 개략적으로 정리하여 그 윤곽을 소개하려는 것이다. 새로운 지역지리 논의는 지리학자들과 사회이론가들과의 활발한 지적 교류가 중요한 계기가 되었다. 신지역지리학을 주창하는 사람들은 공간이 수행하는 역할에 대하여 보다 적극적인 의미를 부여한다. 공간은 그 속에 온갖 사상(事象)(things)을 담고 있는 용기(容器)(containers)가 아니다. 그것은 한낱 어떤 존재의 외부환경에 불과한 것이 아니라, 존재를 존재이게 하는 본질적 차원이다. 신지역지리학은 크게 네 갈래로 논의가 전개되고 있다. 구조화 이론에서 출발하여 시간지리학으로 연결되는 연구 흐름, 공간적 분업론을 기반으로 지역문제에 포괄적으로 접근하고 있는 연구들, 그리고 세계체계론을 공간적 관점에서 재해석하려는 연구들, 마지막으로 탈-후기구조주의 시대에 인간주체를 강조하려는 연구가 그것이다. 그러나 신지역지리 연구는 이론적 논의에 비해 아직 경험적 연구가 많이 축적되지 못한 편이다. 그 이유는 신지역지리 연구이념을 구체적인 경험적 연구로 이어주는 중범위 수준의 개념들이 아직 충분히 개발되지 못하고 있기 때문이다.

Genomic and Proteomic Databases: Foundations, Current Status and Future Applications

  • In this paper we have provided an extensive survey of the databases and other resources related to the current research in bioinformatics and the issues that confront the database researcher in helping the biologists. Initially we give an overview of the concepts and principles that are fundamental in understanding the basis of the data that has been captured in these databases. We briefly trace the evolution of biological advances and point out the importance of capturing data about genes, the fundamental building blocks that encode the characteristics of life and proteins that are the essential ingredients for sustaining life. The study of genes and proteins is becoming extremely important and is being known as genomics and proteomics, respectively. Whereas there are numerous databases related to various subfields of biology, we have maintained a focus on genomic and proteomic databases which are the crucial stepping stones for other fields and are expected to play an important role in the future applications of biology and medicine. A detailed listing of these databases with information about their sizes, formats and current status is presented. Related databases like molecular pathways and interconnection network databases are mentioned, but their full coverage would be beyond the scope of a single paper. We comment on the peculiar nature of the data in biology that presents special problems in organizing and accessing these databases. We also discuss the capabilities needed for database development and information management in the bioinformatics arena with particular attention to ontology development. Two research case studies based on our own research are summarized dealing with the development of a new genome database called Mitomap and the creation of a framework for discovery of relationships among genes from the biomedical literature. The paper concludes with an overview of the applications that will be driven from these databases in medicine and healthcare. A glossary of important terms is provided at the end of the paper.

경혈(經穴)의 의의(意義) 및 연구 방향에 관한 상수학적(象數學的) 고찰 (A Study on Consideration of the Concept and the Directions in Further Research of Meridian Points(經穴) Based on Symbolic Mathematical Study(象數學))

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to consider the concept of Meridian Points(經穴) and to establish the directions in further research. Methods: First, based on the latest results from the researches of Meridian and Collateral(經絡), it was to infer the original concept of Meridian Points(經穴). Second, the meaning of Meridian Points(經穴) has been investigated and its directions in further research was studied founded upon Symbolic Mathematical Study(象數學). Results & Conclusions : Firstly, Meridian Points(經穴) are considered to be the source of information that contains 365 numbers of human physiological information which includes physiological information of Viscera and Bowels(藏府) and Meridian and Collateral(經絡). Secondly, advanced researches are required further to clarify the meaning of Meridian Points(經穴) as Symbolic Mathematical Study(象數學) has established the systems of Meridian Points(經穴). In addition, the efficacy of each Meridian Points(經穴) needs to be revised through literature studies. Clinical studies are essential to practically verify the results from the former theoretical research. Thirdly, the contention to oppose the presence of Meridian and Collateral(經絡) and Meridian Points(經穴) was acknowledged to be incorrect. Lastly, for broadening the theoretical systems of Korean Medicine(韓醫學) with integration of Western scientific knowledge, a paradigm shift is necessary to revise the concepts of Viscera and Bowls(藏府), Meridian and Collateral (經絡) and Meridian Points(經穴) in Korean Medicine(韓醫學). In order to accomplish the shift, the ambiguity in theories of Korean Medicine(韓醫學) should be clarified through the study of Symbolic Mathematical Study(象數學).
