  • Chatbot is emerging as an important interface window for business. This change is due to the continued development of chatbot-related research from NLP to NLU and NLG. However, the reality is that the methodological study of drawing domain knowledge and developing it into a user-friendly interactive interface is weak in the process of developing chatbot. In this paper, in order to present the process criteria of chatbot development, we applied it to the actual project based on the methodology presented in the previous paper and improved the development methodology. In conclusion, the productivity of the test phase, which is the most important step, was improved by 33.3%, and the number of iterations was reduced to 37.5%. Based on these results, the "3 Phase and 17 Tasks Development Methodology" was presented, which is expected to dramatically improve the trial and error of the chatbot development.

  • Previous studies have estimated crash prediction models with the fixed effect model which assumes the fixed value of coefficients without considering characteristics of each intersections. However the fixed effect model would estimate under estimation of the standard error resulted in over estimation of t-value. In order to overcome these shortcomings, the random effect model can be used with considering heterogeneity of AADT, geometric information and unobserved factors. In this study, data collections from 89 intersections in Daejeon and estimates of crash prediction models were conducted using the random and fixed effect negative binomial regression model for comparison and analysis of two models. As a result of model estimates, AADT, speed limits, number of lanes, exclusive right turn pockets and front traffic signal were found to be significant. For comparing statistical significance of two models, the random effect model could be better statistical significance with -1537.802 of log-likelihood at convergence comparing with -1691.327 for the fixed effect model. Also likelihood ration value was computed as 0.279 for the random effect model and 0.207 for the fixed effect model. This mean that the random effect model can be improved for statistical significance of models comparing with the fixed effect model.

  • This paper deals with controlling surge oscillations of a mooring vessel system under large external disturbances such as wind, waves and currents. A control synthesis based on Sliding Mode Control (SMC) with a Super-Twisting Algorithm (STA) has been applied to suppress nonlinear surge oscillations of a two-point mooring system. Despite the advantages of robustness against parameter uncertainties and disturbances for SMC, chattering is the main drawback for implementing sliding mode controllers. First-order SMC shows convergence within the desired level of accuracy, in which chattering is the main obstacle related to the destructive phenomenon. Alternatively, STA completely eliminates chattering phenomenon with high accuracy even for large disturbances. SMC based on STA is an effective tool for the motion control of a nonlinear mooring system because it avoids the chattering problems of a first-order sliding mode controller. In addition, the error trajectories of controlled mooring systems implemented by means of STA form in the bounded region. Finally, the control gain effect of STA can be observed in sliding surface and position trajectory errors.

  • This paper improves the possibility of recognizing fast-moving objects through the YOLO (You Only Look Once) deep learning recognition model in an application environment for object recognition in images. The purpose was to study the method of collecting semantic data through processing. In the recognition model, the moving object recognition error was identified as unrecognized because of the difference between the frame rate of the camera and the moving speed of the object and a misrecognition due to the existence of a similar object in an environment adjacent to the object. To minimize the recognition errors by compensating for errors, such as unrecognized and misrecognized objects through the proposed data collection method, and applying vision processing technology for the causes of errors that may occur in images acquired for sports (tennis games) that can represent real similar environments. The effectiveness of effective secondary data collection was improved by research on methods and processing structures. Therefore, by applying the data collection method proposed in this study, ordinary people can collect and manage data to improve their health and athletic performance in the sports and health industry through the simple shooting of a smart-phone camera.

  • The predictability of winter storm waves using KMA's operational wind forecasts has been studied to predict wind waves and swells in the East coast of Korea using SWAN. The nested model were employed along the East coast of Korea to simulate the wave transformation in the coastal area and wave dissipation term of whitecapping is optimized to improve swell prediction accuracy. In this study, KMA's operational meteorological models (RDAPS and LDAPS) are used as input wind fields. In order to evaluate model accuracy, we also simulate wind waves and swells using ECMWF reanalysis and KIOST WRF wind and they are compared with the KMA's operational wave model and the wave measurement data on the offshore and onshore stations. As a result, it has the lowest RMSE and the highest correlation coefficient in the onshore when the input wind fields are KMA's operational meteorological forecasts. In the offshore, all of the simulate results shows good agreements with similar error statistics. It means that it is very feasible to use SWAN model with the modified whitecapping factor and KMA's operational meteorological forecasts for predicting the wind waves and swells in the East coast of Korea.

  • A variety of complaints about road signs have occurred for various reasons, such as new road facilities, new road signs such as road name signs, and an increase in nearby important facilities. In addition, there are many road signs that are in violation of road sign regulations. The basic principles of road signs, the connectivity of guide names, the location suitability, and a consistent road sign guidance system have not implemented. To solve these problems, various errors were investigated on major road signs on eight national highways, including direction signs, distance signs, boundary signs, and route signs. In addition, we classified the errors on road signs by grade to give them maintenance priority. We also analyzed the error status of signs for each route and grade. Based on the data, the problems of the road signs were derived, and an improvement plan is discussed. Based on this research, more systematic installation and management of road signs through cooperation between the government and local governments could increase the efficiency of road signs, as well as provide safer and more convenient road sign guidance systems for road users.

  • Generally, the tensile strength of carbon fiber reinforced composite (CFRP) should be determined to produce this material. The tensile strength was performed based on ASTM D3039, and this test could cause the error by specimens and human. In this research, the CFRP tensile test was performed with different thickness of specimens and tap, adhesive for attaching tap, and pressure of jig to hold the specimens, while the test was performed based on ASTM D3039. The tensile stress and modulus exhibited differently with different specimen thicknesses, and the 1~1.5 mm thickness of the specimen was optimized. In the case of 0.28 MPa jig pressure, the slip or fracture at the clamping area of the specimen has not occurred, and specimens were fractured to the center section of the specimen. The adhesive to attach jig on specimen should be used to exhibit high adhesive stress. Experimental parameters could cause errors. It is expected to achieve an accurate tensile property evaluation of composite materials via improvements in adhesives, tabs, and jigs.

  • Recently, the impact of fine dust on health has become a major topic. Fine dust is dangerous because it can penetrate the body and affect the respiratory system, without being filtered out by the mucous membrane in the nose. Since fine dust is directly related to the industry, it is practically impossible to completely remove it. Therefore, if the concentration of fine dust can be predicted in advance, pre-emptive measures can be taken to minimize its impact on the human body. Fine dust can travel over 600km in a day, so it not only affects neighboring areas, but also distant regions. In this paper, wind direction and speed data and a time series prediction model were used to predict the concentration of fine dust in Seoul, and the correlation between the concentration of fine dust in Seoul and the concentration in each region was confirmed. In addition, predictions were made using the concentration of fine dust in each region and in Seoul. The lowest MAE (mean absolute error) in the prediction results was 12.13, which was about 15.17% better than the MAE of 14.3 presented in previous studies.

  • In this paper, we propose a new algorithm to remove acoustic feedback and noise in hearing aids. Instead of using the conventional FIR structure, this algorithm is a deep learning algorithm using neural network adaptive prediction filter to improve the feedback and noise reduction performance. The feedback canceller first removes the feedback signal from the microphone signal and then removes the noise using the Wiener filter technique. Noise elimination is to estimate the speech from the speech signal containing noise using the linear prediction model according to the periodicity of the speech signal. In order to ensure stable convergence of two adaptive systems in a loop, coefficient updates of the feedback canceller and noise canceller are separated and converged using the residual error signal generated after the cancellation. In order to verify the performance of the feedback and noise canceller proposed in this study, a simulation program was written and simulated. Experimental results show that the proposed deep learning algorithm improves the signal to feedback ratio(: SFR) of about 10 dB in the feedback canceller and the signal to noise ratio enhancement(: SNRE) of about 3 dB in the noise canceller than the conventional FIR structure.

  • In this study, Neural Networks models were used to forecast daily streamflow at Jindong station of the Nakdong River basin. Neural Networks models consist of CASE 1(5-5-1) and CASE 2(5-5-5-1). The criteria which separates two models is the number of hidden layers. Each model has Fletcher-Reeves Conjugate Gradient BackPropagation(FR-CGBP) and Scaled Conjugate Gradient BackPropagation(SCGBP) algorithms, which are better than original BackPropagation(BP) in convergence of global error and training tolerance. The data which are available for model training and validation were composed of wet, average, dry, wet+average, wet+dry, average+dry and wet+average+dry year respectively. During model training, the optimal connection weights and biases were determined using each data set and the daily streamflow was calculated at the same time. Except for wet+dry year, the results of training were good conditions by statistical analysis of forecast errors. And, model validation was carried out using the connection weights and biases which were calculated from model training. The results of validation were satisfactory like those of training. Daily streamflow forecasting using Neural Networks models were compared with those forecasted by Multiple Regression Analysis Mode(MRAM). Neural Networks models were displayed slightly better results than MRAM in this study. Thus, Neural Networks models have much advantage to provide a more sysmatic approach, reduce model parameters, and shorten the time spent in the model development.
