  • This paper presents a mathod of reducing hunting size or steady state error occurred in the output signals via regulating the PID controllers gains. The PID controllers are widely used in industrial processes. Such processes have several inherent features like continuous operation, fixed set value, and difficulty in applyirty test signals. Thus, this paper suggests fuzzy rules of reducing hunting magnitude or steady state error using output signals only. Such an intelligent tuning technique utilizes both the experts, experience and control engineers' theortical background. For two kinds of systems such as temperature or DC motors speed control, we showed the validity of proposed method in this paper.

A determination of economic control limits considering process deterioration (공정의 열화를 고려한 경제적 관리한계 결정)

  • In most statistical process control(SPC), control charts are used in which samples are taken and a suitable statistic is determined and plotted. In these control charts, control limits, ${\mu}{\pm}textsc{k{\sigma}}$, from which a decision is made are mostly ${\mu}{\pm}3{\sigma}$ and current literature in control charts are mainly concerned with detecting a shift in the mean. Therefore, when $\sigma$ is increased considerably after a long time, using control limits set at the first time causes a great deal of economic loss. In this paper the solutions to determine new control limits which maximizes the profit per unit produced and reduce $\sigma$ to economically optimal level for a certain cost when $\sigma$ is increased due to process deterioration are proposed. By applying new control limits, $\alpha$ error decreases considerably compared to apply initial control limits when $\sigma$ is increased due to process deterioration. Therefore, false alarm investigation cost drops down to the level of initial a error. And also this solution provides useful information regarding replacement of a process when the process is reviewed regularly.

  • In this paper, we propose the topological map building method about unknown environment using the ultrasonic sensors. An ultrasonic sensor inherently has the range error due to the specular reflection. To decrease this error, we estimate the obstacle states(position and velocity) using the local minimum sensor values and Jacobian. Estimated states are used to avoid the obstacles and build the topological map similar to the type that human being memorizes an environment. When a mobile robot is faced with three problems(comer way, cross way and dead end), it senses the movable directions using FIS(Fuzzy Inference System). Among these directions, it can select the target direction using binary decision tree(Turn Side Selector). Proposed algorithm has been verified with three simulations and three implementations.

  • In this paper, we evaluate the throughput and delay performance of a wireless Local Area Network(WLAN) employing the OFDM-based IEEE 802.lla Medium Access Control(MAC) protocol by compute. simulations under wireless indoor. channel. Packet Error Rate(PER) is also investigated for the various Eb/No. It is shown that, with soft-decision Viterbi decoder, throughput and delay performance are close to those of error-free channel at Eb/No above 8dB and PER is about 2${\times}$10$\^$-5/ at Eb/No=10dB.

An Efficient Two-Phase Heuristic Policy for Acceptance Control in IaaS Cloud Service (IaaS 클라우드 서비스 수락제어를 위한 효율적인 2단계 휴리스틱 정책)

  • In this study, we propose an efficient two-phase heuristic policy, called an acceptance tolerance control policy, for Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) cloud services that considers both the service provider and customer in terms of profit and satisfaction, respectively. Each time an IaaS cloud service is requested, this policy determines whether the service is accepted or rejected by calculating the potential for realizing the two performance objectives. Moreover, it uses acceptance tolerance to identify the possibility for error with the chosen decision while compensating for both future fluctuations in customer demand and error possibilities based on past decisions. We conducted a numerical experiment to verify the performance of the proposed policy using several actual IaaS cloud service specifications and comparing it with other heuristics.

  • The purpose of this study is to contribute to solution of the defect dispute in apartment house in advance. We want to propose the improved devices in defect problems by investigating the money that exacted from the practical business of the inspection company and the money that a judge gave a decision in a civil court in 50 cases of the lawsuit to requesting the guarantee against defects and the improved schemes of the applied rate by analyzing the diagnosis money of each applied years about the term of warranty liability in 40 cases of the lawsuit separately from that. As the result, we have to reflect the defect of non construction and error construction on apartment building defects, which recognizes very important factor when we compute the defect repair warranty money and it needs to be rearranged the applied ratio in guarantee peried of housing law practically.

  • Steel frame construction is divided into subsidiary materials with column, beam, girder and bracing. After these are processed in factory for using installing in construction field. These prefabricated furniture is very important in accordance with design drawing about processing and prefabricating. In the case of design process using information transmission in blueprint, omission of material number, processing measure and finishing material, or discordance of each structure drawing and selecting incongruent structural material generated an error in the process of design. These error caused delaying time and increasing cost and increasing safety accident in the steel-structure work operating process. therefore, design process should consider problem of operating process.

  • The Fuzzy-Neural Controller is constructed to resolve some dificulties taking place in decision of membership functions, input and output gains and an inferenced method for desinging fuzzy logic controller. In addition Neural network emulator is used to emulate induction motor forward dynamics and to get error signal at fuzzy-neural controller output layer. Error signal is backpropagated through neural network emulator. A back propagation algorithm is used to train fuzzy-neural controller and emulator. The experimental results show that this control system can provide good dynamical responses.

  • This paper discovers a robust managerial strategy for a stochastic inventory of perishable products, where the model experiences changing factors including inner parameters and an external disturbance with unknown form. An analytical solution for the optimization problem can be obtained by applying the Hamilton-Bellman-Jacobi equation, however the policy result cannot completely suppress the oscillation from the external disturbance. Therefore, an intelligent approach named Radial Basis Function Neural Networks is applied to estimate the unknown disturbance and provide a robust controller to manipulate the inventory level more effective. The final results show the outstanding performance of RBFNN controller, where both the estimation error and control error are guaranteed in the predefined limit.

  • In this paper, we apply a discriminative weight training to a support vector machine (SVM) based gender identification. In our approach, the gender decision rule is expressed as the SVM of optimally weighted mel-frequency cepstral coefficients (MFCC) based on a minimum classification error (MCE) method which is different from the previous works in that different weights are assigned to each MFCC filter bank which is considered more realistic. According to the experimental results, the proposed approach is found to be effective for gender identification using SVM.
