Motion Profile Generation Method for Absolute Angular Error Control Mode of Gun/Turret Driving System (포/포탑 구동 시스템의 절대 각 오차 제어 모드에 대한 모션 프로파일 생성 기법)

  • In this paper, we will discuss the absolute angular error control mode for the Gun/Turret driving system. The Gun/Turret driving controller receives absolute angular error calculated from the fire control system (FCS). Thus, the Gun/Turret driving controller is subjected to step command to cause residual vibration and system unstable. In order to reduce residual vibration and to ensure the system stability, we propose an error motion profile method with two types of trapezoidal and S-Curve. The validity of the proposed error motion profile method is confirmed via simulation by observing that the resulting position error, driving power, and power density satisfied the control performance.

A study on an efficient combination of the manual mode according to trajectory planning (궤도계획에 의한 수동모드의 효율적 배합에 관한 연구)

  • The paesent paper deals with obtaining the properly mixed application critaeia for the manual mode, using computer graphic simulation, in order to recover the error effectively occurring in the advanced teleoperator work of man-robot system. In these experiments the error which is occurred during performing the automatic mode is recovered by the manual mode which is combined properly the operation by hyman with the operation by control program. The result shows an improvement availibility of the system by not only establishing an efficient combination of the manual mode according to trajectory planning but also recovering the error effectively. Therefore we suggest that the operation by control program should be applied in macro motion of control and the operation by human in micro motion of control.

  • We propose two new classes of robust blind equalization algorithms against abrupt changes of channel conditions, which we call a triple-mode algorithm(TMA) and an automatic switch-over algorithm(ASA). The conventional DMGSA exhibits slow convergence rates due to the incorrect equalizer tap-updating process under the severe channel conditions. In order to speed up the convergence process, the TMA operates in triple-mode that is based on the dual-mode of the DMGSA incorporated with the tap-updating control modes of the SGA as well as the MSGA. Without resorting to the decision region for selecting the operation mode in the TMA, the ASA automatically switches the blind mode to the smoother conventional decision-directed mode. The ASA uses the error functional that is the weighted sum of the Generalized Sato error and the decision-directed error, where the weights correspond to the channel conditions. Test results on 16-QAM and 8-VSB datas confirm that the TMA and the ASA perform well under the sudden changes of channel conditions.

  • In this paper, the dual-mode burst-error-correcting decoding algorithm is adapted to the multiple trellis-coded .pi./4 shift QPSK in order to achieve the improvement of bit error rate (BER) performance over fading channels. The dual-mode adaptive decoder which combines maximum likelihood decoding with a burst detection scheme usually operates as a Viterbi decoder and switches to time diversity error recovery whenever an uncorrectable error pattern is identified. Rayleigh fading channels and Rician fading channels having the Rician parameter K=5dB are used in computer simulation, and the simulation results are compared with those of interleaving techniques. It is shown that under the constraint of the fixed overall memory quantity, the dual-mode adaptive decoding scheme gains an advantage in the BER performance with respect to interleaving strategies.

  • Human error is one of the major contributors to the railway accidents or incidents. In order to develop an effective countermeasure to remove or reduce human errors, a systematic analysis should be preferentially performed to identify their causes, characteristics, and types of human error induced in accidents or incidents. This paper introduces a case study for human error analysis of the railway accidents and incidents. For the case study, more than 1,000 domestic railway accidents or incidents that happened during the year of 2004 have been investigated and a detailed error analysis was performed on the selected 90 cases, which were obviously caused by human error. This paper presents a classification structure for human error analysis, and summarizes the analysis results such as causes of the events, error modes and types, related worker, and task type.

In-Flight Alignment of SDINS without Initial Heading Information (초기 기수각 정보가 필요 없는 SDINS의 운항중 정렬)

  • This paper presents a new in-flight alignment method for an SDINS under large initial heading error. To handle large heading error, a new attitude error model is introduced. The attitude errors are divided into heading error and leveling errors using a newly defined horizontal frame. Some navigation error dynamic models are derived from the attitude error model for indirect feedback filtering of the in-flight alignment system. A Kalman filter with Position measurement is designed to estimate navigation errors as the indirect feedback filter Simulation results show that the proposed in-flight alignment method reduces the heading error very quickly from more than 40deg to about 5deg so as to apply a refined navigation filter. The total alignment process including leveling mode and navigation mode in addition to the proposed one allows large initial values not only in heading error but also in leveling errors.

An Efficient CPM Adaptive Decoding Technique over the Burst Error Channel (연집 오류 채널에 효율적인 CPM 적응복호 방식)

  • In this paper, the dual mode error correcting adaptive decoding algorithm which is adapted to the continuous phase frequency shift keying(CPFSK) modulation is presented as a technique for overcoming the distortion that reveals from the Rayleigh fading channel. The dual mode adaptive decoder nominally operates as a Viterbi decoder and switches to the burst error correcting mode, whenever the decoder detects an uncorrectable burst error pattern. Under the fading channel environment and when the usable memory quantity is restricted, the dual mode adaptive decoding algorithm shows an advantage in the BER performance over the interleaving technique, and also obtains the merit of not needing the large time delay that the interleaving technique requires. The experimental results from the computer simulation demonstrate the performance of the algorithm and verify the theoretical results.

Non-destructive estimation of soluble solids in the intact melon fruits from cross progeny by non-contact mode with a fiber optic probe

  • A previous paper(Ito et al., 2000) has described the improvement of the standard error(SEC and SEP) of the predicted soluble solids(Brix) in a melon cultivar by non-contact mode with a fiber optic probe. Then we examined the immature and mature fruits. The objective of this study was to determine if non-contact mode could improve the standard error of the predicted Brix of matured melon fruits from cross progeny as well as the contact mode(usual method). The optical absorption spectrum was measured using a NIR Systems model 6500 spectrophotometer. A commercial spectral program(NSAS ver. 3.27) was used for multiple linear regression analysis. Absorbances of 902 and in the vicinity of 877 nm were included as the independent variables in both multiple regression equations. These wavelengths are key wavelengths for non-destructive Brix determination. When the results for the contact mode and non-contact mode are compared, the latter mode improved the former standard error(SEP and RMS).

  • Chamferless peg-in-hole process of the cylindrical type parts using force/torque sensor and vision sensor is analyzed and simulated in this paper. Peg-in-hole process is classified to the normal mode (only position error) and tilted mode(position and orientation error). The tilted mode is sub-classified to the small and the big tilted mode according to the relative orientation error. Since the big tilted node happened very rare, most papers dealt with only the normal or the small tilted mode. But the most errors of the peg-in-hole process happened in the big tilted mode. This problem is analyzed and simulated in this paper using the force/torque sensor and vision senor. In the normal mode, fuzzy logic is introduced to combine the data of the force/torque sensor and vision sensor. Also the whole processing algorithms and simulations are presented.

H.264의 FMO Performance Evaluation and Comparison over Packet-Lossy Networks (패킷 손실이 발생하는 네트워크 환경에서의 H.264의 FMO 성능분석과 비교에 관한 연구)

  • H.264 is the most recent video coding standard, containing improved error resilience tools than previous video compression schemes. This paper shows an analysis of the dependency of error concealment (EC) performance on the expected number of correctly received neighboring macroblock(MB)s for a lost MB, applying error concealment schemes to the raster scan mode that is used in the previous video coding standard and the flexible macroblock ordering (FMO) which is one of error-resilience tools in H.264. We also present simulation results and performance evaluation with various packet loss rates. Simulation results show that the FMO mode provides better EC performances of $1{\sim}9dB$ PSNR improvements compared to the raster scan mode because of larger expected number of correctly received neighboring MBs. The PSNR improvement by FMO mode becomes higher as the intra-frame period is larger and the packet loss rate is higher.
