In order to study the transport behavior of tripolyphosphate (TPP) in aqueous solutions, the adsorption process of TPP on synthetic goethite, which exists stably in supergene environment, has been systematically studied. The adsorption properties under different conditions (pH, electrolyte presence, and temperature) were investigated. The adsorption of TPP in the presence of humic acid (HA)/fulvic acid (FA) has also been discussed in this paper. The results indicated that the adsorption capacity quickly increased within the first hour and equilibrium was reached within 24 h. The adsorption capacity decreased from 1.98 to 0.27 mg·g-1 upon increasing the pH from 8.5 to 11.0, whereas the adsorption of TPP on goethite hardly changed with increasing electrolyte concentration. The results of analysis of the kinetic and isothermal models showed that the adsorption was more in accord with the pseudo second-order equation and Freundlich model. The adsorption capacity decreased obviously regardless of the order of addition of TPP, HA, and goethite. Subsequent addition of FA led to a large increase in the adsorption capacity, which might be attributed to the adsorption ability of FA. According to the predictions of the kinetic and isothermal models and the spectroscopic evidence (X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), and scanning electron microscope (SEM)), the adsorption mechanism may be mainly based on surface complexation and physical adsorption.

Ball screw system is widely used as a precision mechanical linear actuator that translates rotational motion to linear motion for its high efficiency, great stiffness and long life. Recently, according to the requirements of high accuracy and stiffness, the pre-load on the ball screw which means of remove the backlash in the ball screw is usually used. Because of the preload which means the frictional resistance between the screw and nut, becomes a dominating heat source and it generates thermal deformation of ball screw which is the reason for low accuracy of the positioning decision. There are several methods to solve the problem that includes temperature control, thermal stable design and error compensation. In the past years, researchers focused on the error compensation technique for its ability to correct ball screw error effectively rather than the capabilities of careful machine design and manufacturing. Significant amounts of researches have been done to real-time error compensation. But in this paper, we developed a series of cooling methods to get thermal equilibrium in the ball screw system. So we find the optimum cooling type for improving positioning error which caused by thermal deformation in the ball screw system.
Three kinds of hydrogel membranes were prepared by the copolymerization of 2-hydroxyethylmethacrylate (HEMA) with acrylamide, N, N-dimethylamide and methylmethacrylate in the presence of solvent and crosslinker respectively. The equilibrium water content, relative permeability and partition coefficient of the membranes for alcohol solutes were measured. It has been found that the permeation of organic solute occurs through the water-filled regions in the hydrogel membrane, and that the gpermeability coefficient of organic solute depends on the molecular size. But the permeability of organic solute was controlled by the interaction of solute-membrane at the low water content. By the partition data, it has been shown that the partition of solute is only controlled by hydrophobic interaction between solute and membrane. The diffusion coefficient data were interpreted on the basis of water-solute interaction. It has been found that the diffusion of organic solute is determined by the free volume of water in the membrane, and that hardly depends on polarity-polarizability and hydrogen bonding ability between water and solute.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the treatment ability of refractory organics in hot rolling precess waste water by redox(reduction and oxidation) reaction. Metal is oxidized in an aqueous solution to generate electron which can reduce water to generate hydroxy radical. These hydroxy radical is very effective to conduct hydrogen abstraction reaction and addition reaction to the carbon - carbon unsaturated link. The surface area of metal alloy reaction material is more than enough to get equilibrium at a single treatment. The efficiency of COD treatment by redox reaction showed maximum at mild pH of pH 7 and pH 6. But it was not effective in acidic atmosphere of pH 3, 4, 5 and basic atmosphere of pH 8 or over. Redox reaction system in much more helpful in a commercial coagulation sedimentation treatment than exclusive system.

The sigmoid functionally graded mateiral(S-FGM) theory is reformulated using the nonlocal elatictiry of Erigen. The equation of equilibrium of the nonlocal elasticity are derived. This theory has ability to capture the both small scale effects and sigmoid function in terms of the volume fraction of the constituents for material properties through the plate thickness. Navier's method has been used to solve the governing equations for all edges simply supported boundary conditions. Numerical solutions of biaxial buckling of nano-scale plates are presented using this theory to illustrate the effects of nonlocal theory and power law index of sigmoid function on buckling load. The relations between nonlocal and local theories are discussed by numerical results. Further, effects of (i) power law index, (ii) length, (iii) nonlocal parameter, (iv) aspect ratio and (v) mode number on nondimensional biaxial buckling load are studied. To validate the present solutions, the reference solutions are discussed.
Optimization theory was applied to a native and two imported soybeans. Failure stress and stress relaxation curve was measured with rheometer, and color was measured by colorimeter. The effects of each soybean upon the tofu texture were expressed through a non-linear canonical regression model and trace plot. Compared to the other imported soybeans, native soybean produced a higher strength in tofu texture, and showed the positive increase in viscoelastic properties such as instantaneous stress, equilibrium stress and relaxation time, whereas it had no effect on whiteness from reference blend, represented that native soy-bean showed the individual strength upon the selected rheological texture properties. Higher soaking ability in native soybean was selected as a new response for the optimization mixture process, and it contributed positively to the rheological properties of tofu. New soaking process control system during processing and desirability for the mathematical model should be applied for a better mixture design in varieties of soybeans.
Removal of nitrogen compound from waste water is essential and often accomplished by biological process. Denitrification bacterium, Paracoccus denitrificans (KCTC 2350) is employed to estimate the denitrification ability and the characteristics. In the immobilized biological reactor system, the measurement of absolute amount of active strain in the reactor is comparatively difficult or impossible. In this. study, a reactor was designed with the unwoven texture wrapped peep holed plastic tube to calculate the absolute amount of active strain by comparing the activity of the permeabilized and or immobilized reactor and the free cell reactor The reactor system was continuous stirred tank reactor and the reaction rate of substrate consumption was assumed to satisfy the Michaelis-Menten equation. The effluent concentration of nitrate and nitrite was measured to estimate the apparent parameter of Michaelis-Menten equation. As a result, we found that the amount of immobilized active strain was figured out to be half of the total active strain in the reactor and the time required to be reached in the equilibrium state in the permeabilized and or immobilized reactor system was figured out to be shorter than that of the free cell reactor system.
The focus of this study is on the problem of the design of structure of undetermined topology. This problem has been regarded as being the most challenging of structural optimization problems, because of the difficulty of allowing topology to change. Conventional approaches break down when element sizes approach to zero, due to stiffness matrix singularity. In this study, a novel nonlinear programming formulation of the topology problem is presented. Its main feature is the ability to account for topology variation through zero element sizes. Stiffness matrix singularity is avoided by embedding the equilibrium equations as equality constraints in the optimization problem. Although the formulation is general, two dimensional plane elasticity examples are presented. The design problem is to find minimum weight of a plane structure of fixed geometry but variable topology, subject to constraints on stress and displacement. Variables are thicknesses of finite elements, and are permitted to assume zero sizes. The examples demonstrate that the formulation is effective for finding at least a locally minimal weight.
Thermodynamic parameters for the hydrogen bonding between thiopropionamide(TPA) and proton donors such as triethylphosphine oxide(TEPO), triphenylphosphine oxide(TPPO), trimethylphosphate(TMP), and tributyl phosphate(TBP) in dilute carbon tetrachloride solution have been measured by near-IR spectroscopy. The νa + amide Ⅱ combination band of TPA has been resolved into two Lorentzian-Gaussian product components which have been identified with monomeric TPA and 1 : 1 hydrogen bonded complex. The equilibrium constants and thermodynamic parameters for the formation of 1 : 1 hydrogen bonded complex have been obtained by the analysis of concentration and temperature dependent spectra. The standard enthalpies for the 1 : 1 hydrogen bonded complex formation of TPA with TEPO, TPPO, TMP, and TBP in CCl4 have been found to be - 21.4, - 16.8, - 12.8, and - 12.9 kJ/mol, respectively. The results are explained by the inductive and steric effects of substituents.
Biodegradable and elastic poly(L-lactide-co-$\varepsilon$-caprolactone) (PLCL) was electrospun to prepare nanofibers, and N-isopropylacrylamide (NIPAAm) was then grafted onto their surfaces under aqueous conditions using $^{60}Co-{\gamma}$ irradiation. The graft yield increased with increasing irradiation dose from 5 to 10 kGy and the nanofibers showed a greater graft yield compared with the firms. SEM confirmed that the PLCL nanofibers maintained an interconnected pore structure after grafting with NIPAAm. However, overdoses of irradiation led to the excessive formation of homopolymer gels on the surface of thc PLCL nanofibers. The equilibrium swelling and deswelling ratio of the PNIPAAm-g-PLCL nanofibers (prepared with 10 kGy) was the highest among the samples, which was consistent with the graft yield results. The phase-separation characteristics of PNIPAAm in aqueous conditions conferred a unique temperature-responsive swelling behavior of PNIPAAm-g-PLCL nanofibers, showing the ability to absorb a large amount of water at < $32^{\circ}C$, and abrupt collapse when the temperature was increased to $40^{\circ}C$. In accordance with the temperature-dependent changes in swelling behavior, the release rate of indomethacin and FITC-BSA loaded in PNIPAAm-g-PLCL nanofibers by a diffusion-mediated process was regulated by the change in temperature. Both model drugs demonstrated greater release rate at $40^{\circ}C$ relative to that at $25^{\circ}C$. This approach of the temperature-controlled release of drugs from PNIPAAm-g-PLCL nanofibers using gamma-ray irradiation may be used to design drugs and protein delivery carriers in various biomedical applications.
