This paper quantitatively calculated the speech frequency of the discourse markers 'a', 'eo', and 'eum' and the speech duration of these discourse markers using the Seoul Corpus, a spontaneous speech corpus. The sound durations were confirmed with Praat, the Seoul Corpus was analyzed with Emeditor, and the results were presented by statistical analysis with R. Based on the corpus analysis, the study investigated whether a particular factor is preferred by speakers of particular categories. The most prominent feature of the corpus is that the sound durations of female speakers were longer than those of men when using the 'eum' discourse marker in a final position. In age-related variables, teenagers uttered 'a' more than 'eo' in an initial position when compared to people in their 40s. This study is significant because it has quantitatively analyzed the discourse markers 'a', 'eo', and 'eum' by gender and age. In order to continue the discussion, more precise research should be conducted considering the context. In addition, similarities can be found in "e" and "ma" in Japanese(Watanabe & Ishi, 2000) and 'uh', 'um' in English(Gries, 2013). afterwards, a study to identify commonalities and differences can be predicted by using the cross-linguistic analysis of the discourse.
Infrared signals are frequently used to detect objects exposed to wide variety of environmental conditions. Detection by infrared signature is accomplished by distinguishing objects by using the IR radiant contrast between objects and the background. There are several methods of estimating the IR radiant contrast. The inverse distance weighting method, which is one of the IR radiant contrast estimation method using the effect of distance from objects, is known to be an effective way to analyze radiant contrast for complex backgrounds. However this method has a disadvantage of requiring a long calculation time. In this study we propose a statistical method of estimating the IR radiant contrast by using randomly selected pixels of arbitrary number among background pixels to reduce calculation time. Some measured IR images in MWIR and LWIR regions are used to test the applicability of the method proposed and we found that the proposed method is very effective in determining the IR radiant contrast showing very rapid estimation with minar accuracy loss.
The IR signal entering into a sensor is composed of the following components: the self-emitted component directly from the object surface, the reflected components of the solar and sky irradiance at the object surface, and the scattered component by the atmosphere without reference to any object surfaces. The self-emitted and reflected components from the object can be lowered by the atmospheric layer between the object and the IR sensor. The principle factors influencing the atmospheric transmittance are the air temperature, the relative humidity and the observation distance. Previous studies on IR signal transmission through the atmosphere are focused on uniform atmospheric conditions and the non-uniform nature of the atmosphere was not properly treated in modeling. In this study, we use the local atmospheric transmittance to simulate the non-uniform atmosphere in analyzing the IR signal from the object surface. The results show that the nonuniform analysis of the atmosphere becomes more important as the wavelength of IR signal increases.

In this work, ruthenium substituted SBA-15's(Ru-SBA15's) of various Si/Ru ratios were prepared using a non-ionic triblock copolymer surfactant, $EO_{20}PO_{70}EO_{20}$, as template. We investigated the nitrogen or oxygen adsorption/desorption behaviors of the Ru-SBA-15's for their future applications as catalysts or selective adsorbents, etc. The pore size of the Ru-SBA-15's was determined by both the Barrett-Joyner-Halenda(BJH)($D_{BJH}$) and the Broekhoff-de Boer analysis with a Frenkel-Halsey-Hill isotherm(BdB-FFF) method($D_{BdB-FHH}$). The $D_{BJH}$ and $D_{BdB-FHH}$ of the Ru-SBA-15 having 50/1 ratio of Si/Ru were 3.9 nm and 4.7 nm, respectively. The transmission electron microscope(TEM) image of the Ru-SBA 15 of the Si/Ru mole ratio of 50 showed that the pore size is 4.7 nm, which is consistent with the $N_2$ adsorption results with the BdB-FHH method. The surface area of pores form oxygen adsorption/desorption isotherm was higher than that from the nitrogen adsorption/desorption isotherm by the Brunauer-Emmett-Teller(BET) method, which were respectively $612.7m^2/g$, and $573.3m^2/g$. X-ray diffraction(XRD) patterns and TEM analyses showed that the mesoporous materials possess well-ordered hexagonal arrays.

The effect of dietary fish oil ( mackerel oil : MO, eel oil : EO) on energy utilization in rats was studied with measurements of various tissue lipoprotein lipase( LPL ) and live and heart mitochondrial respiration. Fatty acid composition of mitrochondrial inner membrane matrix was also investigated. Dietary fat level was 10%( w/w) and reference groups were fed soybean oil (SO), repeseed oil ( RO) and beef tallow( BT ). Activity of LPL was about 60% higher in post-heparin plasma and 2 to 3 times higher in adipose tissue of BT group than fish oil or vegetable oil group. But there was no significant difference between fish oil and vegetable oil groups. Inclusion of EO above 2% (w/w) in dietary fat with fille oil of BT, markedly reduced both post -heparin plasma and adipose tissue LPL. Effects of MO and EO were not different in adipose tissue LPL, but EO was more effective than MO, in reducing post -heparin plasma LPL when mixed fat with varying amount of fish oil was used. Hepatic mitochondria isolated from fish oil-fed group showed the lowest rate of respiration but had P/O ratio comparable to SO and BT groups. On the other hand, cardiac mitochondria of fish oil group showed no difference in all the mitochondrial respiration parameters observed RO group had lowest P/O ratio both in hepatic and cardiac mitochondria. Fatty acid compositions of mitochondrial lipid differ between SO, RO, BT and MO groups, notably in the content of $C_{22:1}$ fatty acid.
The ability of volatile components of essential oils (EO) from cinnamon, clove, and lemongrass to inhibit biofilms formed on polyethylene and stainless steel by six types of food poisoning bacteria was investigated. The main components of cinnamon EO were identified as cinnamaldehyde (38.30%), linalool (9.61%), β-caryophyllene (8.90%), and 1,3,4-eugenol (8.19%). 1,3,4-Eugenol (61.84%) was the dominant component of clove EO. The major component of lemongrass EO was citral. Citral is a natural mixture of two isomeric acyclic monoterpene aldehydes: geranial (trans-citral, 19.11%) and neral (cis-citral, 19.23%). Among these major compounds, cinnamaldehyde, linalool, eugenol, and citral exhibited comparatively strong antimicrobial activity in the disc diffusion assay. Treatments with 0.1% eugenol and citral were highly effective on biofilm inhibition on both tested surfaces. Cinnamaldehyde (0.1%) was effective against biofilm formation by Listeria monocytogenes ATCC 19112 and Staphylococcus aureus KCCM 11812. These results suggested the potential of cinnamaldehyde, eugenol, and citral treatments in inhibiting the formation of biofilms by food poisoning bacteria.

Alkylphenol Polyethoxylate(APEs) and their metabolites were determined in the aquatic environment in the central Nakdong river basin. The concentrations of APE's ranged between $0.62{\sim}11.70\;{\mu}g/L$ from the Nakdong and the Kumho rivers, and were $70.00{\sim}212.50\;{\mu}g/L$ in the samples from the 3rd industrial complex stream and the Dalseo stream, which are both heavily polluted by industrial wastewater and domestic wastewater. The APEs revealed a removal rate of more than 87% by biodegradation and adsorption etc. in the wastewater treatment plant. Nonylphenol polyethoxylates(NPnEO) and Nonylphenol carboxylic acid(NPnEC) consisted of APE metabolites shifted from NP($n=4{\sim}10$)EO and NP($n=4{\sim}10$)EC to NP($n=1{\sim}3$)EO and NP($n=1{\sim}3$)EC or removed by the adsorption of activated sludge during the biological wastewater treatment process. Upper streams have a higher distributed rate of NP($n=7{\sim}10$)EO than water downstream. Continuous monitoring is necessary for non-point sources as well as point sources, such as a wastewater treatment plant. Effluent concentrations of nonylphenol(NP) in industrial wastewater and domestic wastewater averaged about 4.33 and $1.70\;{\mu}g/L$, respectively. In addition, the removal rate average was 90% in the wastewater treatment plant. NP concentrations in the rivers did not exceed $1.0\;{\mu}g/L$, which are prescribed by environmental risk concentration in the USA and Europe. However, NP required continuous monitoring, which detected over $0.1\;{\mu}g/L$ in all river areas.

Core muscle is the most crucial for rehabilitation of patients with musculoskeletal and nervous problem, there is pain, imbalance and functional movement disorder of upper and lower extremities. In this study, low-frequency electrical stimulator was developed for the purpose increasing the activity of rectus abdominis (RA) and the thickness of transverse abdominis (TrA), internal obliquus abdominis (IO), and external obliquus abdominis (EO). Fifteen female in their 20's was divided into a experiment groups (traditional electrical stimulation group, developed electrical stimulation group) and control group. Low-frequency electrical stimulation was performed in experimental groups for 4 times a week, 4 weeks. The muscle activities (RA) by EMG and muscle thickness (TrA, IO, EO) by Ultrasonogrphy imaging were measured, respectively. In the result, the muscle activity of RA and muscle thickness of TrA and EO were significantly increased at developed electrical stimulation group (p<.05). Therefore, the developed low-frequency electrical stimulation is useful for rehabilitation with CNS and PNS subjects.
Lithium p-[Methoxyoligo(ethyleneoxy)] benzenesulfonates (LiEOnBS) with different repeating unit of ethylene oxide were synthesized and were used for preparing gel-polymer electrolytes. The conductivities and lithium ion transference number were measured as a function of Li-salt concentration and repeating unit of ethylene oxide of the LiEOnBS. The maximum conductivity of the resulting gel-polymer electrolyte was found to be 4.89${\times}$10$\^$-4/ S/cm (LiEO7.3BS, 0.5 M) at 30$^{\circ}C$. The lithium ion transference number (t$\sub$Li$\sub$+//) measurement were performed by means of the combination do polarization and ac impedance methods in gel-polymer electrolytes. Lithium ion transference number was measured to be in the range of 0.75∼0.92 for the LiEOnBS containing gel-polymer electrolytes. The maximum t$\sub$Li$\sub$+// was obtained to be 0.92 for the 0.1 M LiEOnBS containing polymer electrolytes. The synthesized LiEOnBS showed single ion transport like characteristics when n was large than 3.
