The purpose of this study was to identify the perception of residents on green home and their green residential life. For this study, a questionnaire survey was conducted and the items consisted of whether green home was perceived and how well green residential life was maintained in 6 types of environments. A total 118 responses of residents living in apartments of Seoul Metropolitan Area were used for data analysis. Using statistical program SPSS Win 18.0, frequency analysis, t-test, One-way ANOVA, and factor analysis was employed. The major findings were as follows: 1) slightly more than half of the respondents were aware of green home, and the vast majority were in favor of the green home policy; 2) most of the respondents carried out guidelines of green residential life, and in particular, green living on air environment was well done, followed by consumption, waste, energy, traffic and water; 3) the six kinds of environments were subcategorized by using factor analysis, and 3 to 5 factors were included in each category of environment. Also, it was found that age, educational level, employment status of respondents, housing tenure and duration were related to the degree of green residential life. In midst of global movement toward sustainability, environmentally friendly living is not optional but mandatory, so it's important to change each individual's value on the relation between people and environment and to facilitate more environmentally conscious behaviors.

This study was performed to identify the roles of residents for the environmentally sound and sustainable development, taco-polis(kologisches Bauen), eco-village and Symbiotic Housing. These buildings will achieve energy efficiency through design strategies such as passive solar heating system, natural cooling and day lighting. Their infrastructure will feature parking on the periphery, extensive pedestrian paths, outdoor ground lights that preserve stellar visibility, and environmentally sensitive technologies such as low writer use fixtures. And they will restore biodiversity while protecting the wildlife, wetlands, forests, soil, air and water. Their houses wile be designed to support home-based occupations, offering high-speed Internet access and other options to promote a localized, sustainable economy. To support and encourage the evolution of sustainable settlements, it is necessary to prepare constructing the physical facilities and the social functions relating with residents. The roles of residents are important to provide a high Quality lifestyle and to integrate a supportive social environment with a low-impact way of life. This study concluded the four main roles of residents for the sustainable of Eco-polis and Ecovillage. 1. Residents assist transition towards a sustainable society as eco-conscious consumers in the planning stage. 2. Residents live in a ecological way for the sustainable ecovillage. 3. Residents exchange information and education for increasing the community glue as a communication network. 4. Residents support and transmit their cultural vitality and tradition for the next generation. So, users are expected to encourage resident's participation in the planning, design, ongoing management and maintenance of the sustainable ecovillage.

Purpose: The hospitality sector is vital to economic development, especially in metropolitan regions, where hotels are a pivotal factor in drawing in leisure and corporate visitors. Despite the potential advantages of urban hotels, there is a gap in empirical studies on the impacts of eco-friendly interior design on hotel appeal and guest behavior. Therefore, this study aims to fill out the research gap. Research design, data and methodology: This study employed a review of the literature systematically as its research design. The study's data collection technique involves exploring peer-reviewed journals through electronic databases like Scopus, and Web of Science. The present author double-checked the quality of instrument for all usable dataset. Results: Prior literature has stated a strong linkage between green interior design in urban hotels and customer behavior and hotel attractiveness. Using environmentally conscious methods, hotels can enhance the quality of their indoor atmosphere, preserve energy and water supplies, and establish a favorable public perception that appeals to environmentally aware consumers, thereby improving their overall experience and contentment. Conclusions: This study concludes that creating indoor spaces with environmental factors in mind could lead to a more enjoyable and beneficial atmosphere for hotel visitors and adopting a sustainability-oriented approach to hotel design and operations could attract potential customers.

School is an excellent place for children to loam environment-conscious behavior and for teachers to bring up environmental education. School has a plenty of teaching materials such as school building, pond, school forest, waste and school supplies. Especially, the environmental education for and with school supplies can be very effective, as it is mostly the first products for children to learn the buying and consumption in their daily life. In this study we conducted a survey on the environmental attitude of two groups of 5th graders towards environmentally friendly school supplies. The experimental group received environmental education on school supplies and the control group did not. The survey results showed that almost 50% of the children did not consider the environmental impact, but rather the price, design and function when buying the school supplies. However, more than 70% of children were willing to use the recycled school products, implying that they are aware of environmental Issues and want to contribute to the preservation and improvement of the environment. The children recognized paper/notebooks and paints/crayons as the major environmental problems. Writing appliances such as pens, pencils, highlighters and markers were also considered as environmental concerns, since most of them are made of plastics and they are not easily biodegradable nor refillable. We also exemplify a lesson-plan for environmental education program on school supplies and make suggestions to encourage the use of those eco-friendly school materials.

The purpose of this study is to understand the characteristics and concepts behind Design for Environment(DfE) and Environmental Management System(EMS). This study highlights the success of domestics and foreign corporations that have utilized DfE and EMS as well as explored how DfT based EMS is being used in domestic corporations. Although corporations acknowledge that using environmentally conscious designs provide them with a competitive edge, only 53.6% of fashion corporations have established the environmental policies and use such tools. Furthermore, only 41% use DfE strategies for operating their corporations.

This paper presents atomization characteristics of cutting fluids. To analyze the behavior characteristics of cutting fluid, analytical approach and experimental measurement were performed to predict the aerosol size, velocity and concentration due to cutting fluid atomization mechanism in machining operation. The established analytical model which is based on atomization theory analyzes the cutting fluid motion and aerosol generation in machining process. The predictive models can be used as a basis for environmental impact analysis on the shop floor. It can be also facilitate the optimization of cutting fluid usage in achieving a balanced consideration of productivity and environmental consciousness.

As tourist are becoming increasingly environmentally conscious, government and related companies need to establish policies or strategies that encourage ecotourism. The aim of this study is to analyze individual preferences and estimate shadow prices, namely, willingness to pay for coastal wetland ecotourism. This study applies a contingent choice method to measuring marginal WTP for each attribute (tour duration, number of visitors, guide, program) of coastal wetland ecotourism. The finding herein contribute to complementing the valuation methods by estimating various attributes of coastal wetland ecotourism and providing policy-makers with useful methodological framework and quantitative information in the decision-making process related to ecotourism.

최근 지속가능한 사회를 실현하기 위해 용기포장의 3R이 적극 추진되고 있다. 일본 제성은 설계 및 제조 단계에서부터 환경에 배려한 용기포장을 만들기 위해 '용기포장의 환경배려설계에 관한 사례집-포장의 환경배려에 있어서 JIS를 활용한 용기포장 리듀스 대응 사례'를 발간했다. 일본 경제성의 관계자는 "이 사례집은 보다 많은 사람들이 용기포장의 환경배려형 설계에 관련한 대응과 실태를 이해하는 것을 목표로 발간됐다"며 "소비자단체, NPO단체, NGO단체 등이 사례집을 적극 활용해 용기포장의 환경배려형 설계가 더욱 보급되길 바란다"고 말했다. 앞으로 3회에 걸쳐 보고서 내용을 기본으로 용기포장의 환경배려형 설계 단계, 용기포장의 환경배려형 설계와 JIS의 관계, 각사의 우수 사례 등에 대해 살펴보도록 한다.

Today's hightech society requires thousands of different products which ultimately result in billions of tons of materials discarded, most of which end up in landfills. Therefore industrial circles could not help thinking about environmental problems by regulations of government or pressures of consumer. Generally, the related research subjects are classified into both of environmentally conscious manufacturing and product recovery, where product recovery aims to minimize the amount of waste sent to landfills by recovering materials and parts from old or outdated products by means of recycling and remanufacturing (including reuse of parts and products). In this research, we constructed a model for remanufacturing various goods using a single facility and developed a dynamic programing(DP) algorithm based upon the optimal solution characterization. We showed the efficiency of the developed DP algorithm with a numerical example.
