In this study, we intend to identify key financial variables that can accurately classify Green IT leaders against Green IT followers. In particular, we build and compare single and meta-classifiers to identify the relationship between environmental performance and financial performance, while focusing on selecting and interpreting a final prediction model with a smaller set of financial performance indicators. Our experimental results demonstrate that several key variables representing the size, financial resources, operational efficiency, and risk-taking tendency of an organization can successfully identify Green IT leaders with approximately 90% of accuracy. In addition, we find that Green IT leaders show a higher utilization rate of Web pages as a green marketing channel than Green IT followers while they share common layouts of Web publication to build green IT brands with some differences.
As Indonesia is rich in natural resources, nuclear power remains a low priority among energy alternatives. However, Indonesia needs to introduce nuclear power to improve the atmospheric environment and to support sustainable economic growth. This study conducted a two-stage survey of logit-probit and analytic hierarchy process to analyze the perception of Indonesian energy policymakers regarding the introduction of nuclear power, the potential for change, and key decision factors. The analysis confirms that the perception of nuclear power is positive and that the willingness to expand nuclear power can improve if negative conditions, such as underdeveloped technology level, foreign aid and assistance, and safety issues are addressed. In addition, it is confirmed that the policy makers consider political/social and environmental factors to be more important for decision-making. The results of this study can give inplications and be used as a key reference for Indonesia's nuclear power policy
Managed aquifer recharge (MAR) systems are gaining interest as an alternative to conventional water resources. However, when the water recovered in MAR systems, dissolved iron and manganese species may easily oxidize and they cause well screen clogging or require abandonment of extraction wells. In this study, both oxic and anoxic conditions were analyzed to verify the feasibility of the membrane filtration performance under various solution chemistries. The fouling mechanisms of the metal ions under anoxic conditions were also investigated by employing synthetic wastewater. The fouled membranes were then further analyzed to verify the major causes of inorganic fouling through SEM and XPS. The newly suggested anoxic process refining existing membrane process is expected to provide more precious information about nanofiltration (NF) membrane fouling, especially for demonstrating the potential advantages to chemical-free drinking water production for indirect potable reuse.
This paper presents a method of classifying discolored defects of metal pads using geometric texture for AFVI (Automated Final Vision Inspection) systems. In PCB manufacturing process, the metal pads on PCB can be oxidized and discolored partly due to various environmental factors. Nowadays the discolored defects are manually detected and rejected from the process. This paper proposes an efficient geometric texture feature, SUTF (Symmetry and Uniformity Texture Feature) based on the symmetric and uniform textural characteristics of the surface of circular metal pads for automating AFVI systems. In practical experiments with real samples acquired from a production line, 30 discolored images and 1232 roughness images are tested. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method using SUTFs provides better performance compared to Gabor feature with 0% FNR (False Negative Rate) and 1.46% FPR (False Positive Rate). The performance of the proposed method shows its applicability in the real manufacturing systems.
The analog-based Ex-core Neutron Flux Monitoring System (ENFMS) in Korean Nuclear Power Plants (NPPs) has been performing its intended functions successfully for a long time. On the other hand, the primary concern with the extended use of analog systems is the aging effect, such as mechanical failures, environmental degradation, and obsolescence. The transition to a digital-based Man-Machine Interface Systems (MMIS) in Korea and other countries has been accelerating, but some systems are still analog-based IC systems, such as the ENFMS in APR1400 NPPs. Digitalized ENFMS can become a reality using computers and microprocessors owing to the progress in digital electronics and information technology. This paper presents the result of the first phase of the research on the digitalization of the ENFMS signal processing electronics for NPPs operated or produced in Korea. It has two main parts: (1) review engineering bases of ex-core neutron flux monitoring system, including nuclear engineering, instrumentation techniques, and analog and digital signal processing techniques, and (2) analysis of analog signal processing electronics of ENFMS for OPR1000 and APR1400 power plants. They are prerequisite to the second phase of the research which is the detailed implementation of the digitalization.
Non-Functional Requirements (NFR) play a crucial role during the software development process. Currently, NFRs are considered more important than Functional Requirements and can determine the success of a software system. NFRs can be very complicated to understand due to their subjective manner and especially their conflicting nature. Self-adaptive systems (SAS) are operating in dynamically changing environment. Furthermore, the configuration of the SAS systems is dynamically changing according to the current systems context. This means that the configuration that manages the trade-off between NFRs in this context may not be suitable in another. This is because the NFRs satisfaction is based on a per-context basis. Therefore, one context configuration to satisfy one NFR may produce a conflict with another NFR. Furthermore, current approaches managing Non-Functional Requirements trade-off stops managing them during the system runtime which of concern. To solve this, we propose fragmentizing the NFRs and their alternative solutions in form of Multi-entity Bayesian network fragments. Consequently, when changes occur, our system creates a situation specific Bayesian network to measure the impact of the system's conditions and environmental changes on the NFRs satisfaction. Moreover, it dynamically decides which alternative solution is suitable for the current situation.

Micro Electric Vehicles are considered as a solution for reducing $CO_2$ emissions, however, it is difficult to evaluate its impact in a local community when it has been introduced. In this study, we evaluated how to spread the Micro EV within the community, using the utility derived from a multinomial logit model, and analyze the effect on $CO_2$ emissions. The householder's utility model is based on an investigation about Kiryu citizen's activities of shopping, transportation methods, etc. Using the geographic information system, we get the distances of each householder and the stores, and estimate a multinomial logit model about the combination choices of shopping stores and transportation method.
This study looks at the influential factors of cyber education in order to create a cyberspace where the public official can obtain information at a place and time convenient to them. This will provide a chance to activate cyber education effectively. The results of the study show the influential factors of education effect as follows: - the instruction design and contents factors such as interesting educational contents, interaction between learners and teacher, and positive instruction, a31 had an important influence. - the learner factors, such as a desire to learn, motivation, and interest in the lesson, also had a significant influence. - the environmental factors such as systematical basis and support, atmosphere, and consideration of others had a large effect on the education effect.
Recently, SCM(Supply Chain Management) embraces the dynamic environmental changes of the participatory bodies in supply chain. Under this dynamic SCM environment, the selection of supplier and outsourcing company is very important. In their selection, the productivity and expertise of suppliers and outsourcing companies are, of course, to be considered as important factors, but whether or nottheycanmeettheduedateisacritical factor. In particular, this is true because an order-based manufacture ought to have CTP(Capable To Promise). For this purpose, by capitalizing onthevirtualmanufactureundertheSCM, this paper has tried to suggest a new agent system for the selection of supplier and outsourcing company. While performing virtual manufacture based on the integration scheduling, this system acquires the production environment and scheduling information of both suppliers and outsourcing companies on a real-timebasis,thusmakingintegrationschedulingpossible. Also, in order to provetheviabilityofthisstudy, thispaper has selected a specific domain and applied it.
This study examines the factors that have an effect on the satisfaction of student campus life in two college. By the survey questionnaire, three factors selected from 14 questionnaire by factor analysis in the college environmental character. Those factors ware analyzed to estimate the results of this study. And the effect and type of word of mouth communication surveyed by one questionnaire respectively. The major results of this study are as follow; First, the factors that effected on satisfaction of students are the distinction of sex, the division of major field and the distinction of college. But the academic grade factor is not available, Second, the factors of tutors/curriculums and education support service effected on satisfaction of students in campus life, but the factor of education convenience facility is not. Finally, the effect and communication of word of mouth resulted in effectiveness for on satisfaction of students in campus life.
