토양오염 위해성평가를 위한 국가별 노출인자 비교분석 및 국내 노출인자 연구 (Comparative Study on Exposure Factors for Risk Assessment in Contaminated Lands and Proposed Exposure Factors in Korea)

  • 토양매체중의 오염물질들은 다양한 경로를 통해 인체나 생태계에 노출되어 위해성 문제를 유발하고 있다. 토양위해성평가(Soil Risk Assessment)는 토양오염물질로 인한 악영향의 개연성을 정량적으로 평가하는 과정으로, 유해성 확인(Hazard Identification), 용량-반응평가(Dose-Response Assessment), 노출평가(Exposure Assessment), 그리고 위해도 결정(Risk Characterization)의 4가지 단계적 과정으로 이루어진다. 이중 노출평가과정에서 매우 중요하게 작용하는 노출인자(Exposure Factor)는 토양오염물질의 인체노출량을 산정하는데 필수적인 요소로, 미국, 유럽국가 등 선진국에서는 나라별 상황에 적절한 노출인자를 사용하고 있으나, 우리나라는 아직 국내에 적용하기 적합한 노출 인자에 대한 연구가 매우 부족한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 토양오염 위해성평가를 위한 국가별 노출인자를 비교분석하고, 이를 토대로 국내상황에 적용가능한 노출인자를 제시하였다. 국가별 노출인자 연구는 미국 Environmental Protection Agency, 영국 Environmental Agency, 네덜란드 RIVM, 호주, 그리고 독일에서 적용되고 있는 노출인자값에 대해 노출인자별로 총괄적인 비교분석을 수행하였다. 또한 국가별 비교분석연구와 국내에서 제시된 노출인자 자료를 종합하여, 국내자료가 없는 경우 외국에서 보편적으로 적용하고 있는 인자값을 국내 적용 타당성을 고려하여 제시하였다. 본 연구에서 고려된 노출인자 조사항목은 평균수명, 노출기간, 노출빈도, 체중, 체표면적(또는 노출체표면적), 피부흡수계수(Skin Absorption Factor), 토양-피부간 흡착계수(Soil-Skin Adherence Factor), 음용수 섭취량, 호흡률, 토양 섭취량 그리고 농작물 섭취량 등이다. 본 연구는 오염토양의 위해성평가를 수행할 때 국내 상황을 고려한 노출평가에 필요한 기반연구가 될 것이다.

Estimation of Physical-Chemical Property and Environmental Fate of Benzoyl peroxide Using (Q)SAR

  • Benzoyl peroxide is a High Production Volume Chemical, which is produced about 1,375 tons/year in Korea as of 2001 survey. The substance is mainly used as initiators in polymerization, catalysts in the plastics industry, bleaching agents for flour and medication for acne vulgaris. The substance is one of seven chemicals of which human health and environmental risks are being assessed by National Institute of Environmental Research (NIER) under the frame of OECD SIDS Program. In this study, Quantitative Structure-Activity Relationships (QSAR) is used for getting adequate information on the physical-chemical property and the environmental fate of this chemical. For the assessment of benzoyl peroxide, models such as MPBPWIN for vapor pressure, KOWWIN for octanol/water partition coefficient, HENRYWIN for Henry's Law constant, AOPWIN for photolysis and BCFWN for bioconcentration factor (BCF) were used. These (Q)SAR model programmes were worked by using the SHILES (Simplified Molecular Input Line Entry System) notations. The physical-chemical properties and the environmental fate of benzoyl peroxide were estimated as followed : vapor pressure =0.00929 Pa, Log Kow = 3.43, Henry's Law constant = 0.00000354 atm-㎥/mole at 25 $^{\circ}C$, the half-life of photodegradation = 3 days, bioconcentration factor (BCF) = 92

산림환경 정보구축 및 산림환경 평가 (Construction of forest environmental information and evaluation of forest environment)

  • This study was carried out to lead the scientific management of the urban forest by estimating the forest environment. Forest environmental information was constructed using IDRISI system based on survey data, soil, plant, and digital elevation data. Forest environmental information was consisted of soil depth, soil organic content, soil hardness and parent rock as a soil environmental factor, and forest community, tree age, crown density as a plant environmental factor. Plant activity and topographic environment also were analyzed by using remote sensing data and digital elevation data. Environmental function of urban forest was estimated based on results of soil conservation and forest productivity. 70% of urban forest is located in elevation of lower than 200m and 55% of forest area have the slope of lower than 15 degree. Analyzed soil conservation status and forest productivity were almost the same as the soil chemical properties of collected soil sample and the vegetation index estimated using remote sensing data, respectively. Thus, the constructed forest environmental information could be useful to give some ideas for management of urban forest ecosystem and establishment of environmental conservation planning, including forests, in Taejon. The best forest environmental function was appeared at the natural ecology preservation zone. Current natural parks and urban parks were appeared to establish the environmental conservation plan for further development. The worst forest environmental function was appeared at the forest near to the industrial area and an overall and systematic plan was required for the soil management and high forest productivity because these forest was developing a severe soil acidification and having a low forest productivity.

인지된 근린환경요인이 지역주민들의 자전거이용만족도에 미치는 영향 -상주시를 대상으로 (Analysis for Impact Perceived Neighborhood Environmental Factors on Resident's Satisfaction of Bicycle Use)

  • 본 연구는 자전거이용 활성화를 위한 기초연구로 지역주민들이 인지하는 근린환경요인이 자전거이용만족도에 미치는 영향을 분석하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 상주시를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하고 순위형 로짓모형을 이용하여 인지된 근린환경요인과 자전거이용만족도의 상관관계를 분석하였다. 분석결과 자전거도로의 질, 자전거 편의시설의 질, 주요시설의 접근성, 자전거이용시 안전성, 가로환경의 다양성 등이 자전거이용만족도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 이러한 결과를 토대로 자전거 이용환경 설계 시 고려되어야 할 사항들을 제시하였다.

SRF 사용 시 발생되는 대기오염물질 (PM, NOx)의 국가배출량 기여도 평가 (SRF Combustion Pollutants' Impact on Domestic Emissions Assessments)

  • Recently, yearly production of SRF (Solid Recovered Fuel) as an alternative fuel has been rapidly increasing because of the limited waste disposal, rise in oil prices and reduction of greenhouse gas emission. However, SRF using facilities are excluded from the National Air Pollutant Emission Estimation because SRF using facilities are not yet included among the SCC (Source Classification Code). The purpose of this research was to estimate the emission and emission factor of SRF using facilities' PM and $NO_x$, in order to investigate whether or not they are included in the National Air Pollutant Emission Estimation. The emission factors of SRF using facilities' PM and $NO_x$ are calculated as 0.216 kg/ton, and 3.970 kg/ton, and the emission was estimated based on the yearly total SRF usage of 2011. The results above was 18.7% for PM and 12.8% for $NO_x$ emissions from combustion facility (SCC2) in manufacturing industry combustion (SCC1) of CAPSS. If CAPSS estimate the emission by adding SCC on unlisted SRF in case of Boiler (SCC3) fuel, both PM and $NO_x$'s emissions would increase by 15.8% and 11.3% compare to the emissions for the existing combustion facility. As a result, emissions caused by SRF should be considered when calculating the National Air Pollutant Emission Estimation. In addition, further researches to develop emission factor and improve subdivided SCC should be done in the future, for the accurate and reliable estimation of National Emission.

도심 친수공간 적지선정을 위한 평가기준의 가중치 산정방법 개발 (Development of a method for calculating weights of evaluation criteria for proper selection of urban waterfronts)

  • The urban waterfront well created, could provide mental stability and comfort and also foster personality. In addition it could provide the calmness and rest of mind. Especially, recently the urban waterfronts are restored here and there and are created whenever developing a new town The purpose of this study is to develop a method of calculating the weight of each evaluation criterion for deciding the priority of restoration among for deciding the priority of restoration among the urban waterfronts. The method includes the analytic hierarchy process that can calculate the reasonable weight of each evaluation criterion, because the importance (weights) of evaluation criteria appears to be different among the evaluators; the results of this study can be summarized as that this method can be useful for calculating the weights of evaluation criteria, and also that the superiority of ecological resources is the most important factor (highest weight) in selecting the best waterfront, followed by accessibility, tourism vacation, and proximity to parks. And then the lowest factor in importance is the scale of reservoir.

열성층을 포함하는 원자력발전소 배관의 환경피로평가 (Environmental Fatigue Evaluation for Thermal Stratification Piping of Nuclear Power Plants)

  • A detailed fatigue evaluation procedure was developed to mitigate the excessive conservativeness of the conventional environmental fatigue evaluation method for the pressurizer spray line elbow of domestic new nuclear power plants. The pressurizer spray line is made of austenitic stainless steel, which is relatively sensitive to the environmentally assisted fatigue, and has a low degree of design margin in terms of environmentally assisted fatigue due to the thermal stratification phenomenon on the pipe cross section as a whole or locally. In this study, to meet the environmental fatigue design requirements of the pressurizer spray line elbow, the new environmental fatigue evaluation has been performed, which used the ASME Code NB-3200-based detailed fatigue analysis and the environmental fatigue correction factor instead of the existing NB-3600 evaluation method. As a result, the design requirements for environmentally assisted fatigue were met in all parts of the pressurizer spray line elbow including the fatigue weakened zones by thermal stratification.
