In recent, the investigations related to the FRP(Fiber Reinforced Polymers) have been increased due to their superior material and mechanical properties such as environmental resistance, high specific strength and stiffness. Considering these advantages, the FRP tube may be proper for strut on the PSC box girder bridge that can maximize the efficiency of cross section and are effective on economics and aesthetics of bridges. In this research, the specimen tests of the FRP tube and compression tests of the concrete member enclosed with the FRP were performed in order to evaluate the suitability of the FRP tubes, which are applied to the PSC box girder bridge with strut. The specific strength of concrete and the energy absorbing capacity as well as ductility were increased according to the experimental results, and it was found that FRP tubes have sufficient safety as strut member.
Various methodologies have been proposed in discussions of sustainability to meet the needs and sustenance of both civilization and the ecosystem. Among them, the modern concept of biomimicry is emerging as a way to meet both the concepts of sustainable 'development' and 'society', due to its philosophical position encompassing the human-centered world view and the non-human-centered view of ecocentrism. Therefore, in the field of design in which it is necessary to take responsibility for environmental and social problems, this could be a good way to solve these issues. Biomimicry design can generally be divided into three stages: form, function, and ecosystem. From the point of view of ecological sustainability, ecosystem imitation is the most advanced and appropriate design approach that can solve the problems or even prevent them. Accordingly, this study derived a biomimicry design approach in the ecosystem imitation stage based on the concepts of biomimicry, ecological sustainability, and ecological aesthetics. The detailed approaches are 'imitation of the natural providence', 'imitation of the ecosystem's creation process', and 'imitation of the ecological cycle'. This study investigated and presented cases, such as the design imitating the ecological mechanism of microorganisms and the work using mark-making based on the derived design approach, because it could be too conceptual and idealistic by itself. Through this, we explored a method of applying and visualizing the concept of biomimicry in textile design at the ecosystem imitation level and showed its feasibility, although it still has difficulties in practical use.

This study emphasizes users' participation, a living-transforming visuality, as users have appeared to be a central element of landscape design but ignored before. Also this study tries to propose meaning of extended visuality in contemporary landscape design on the basis of visual criticism on simple perception-and contemplations convention-based landscape design. For these purposes, this study reviews characteristics of visual changes appeared in modern reductionist paintings. In other words, arts can be interpreted in polysemous ways through bodies' experience. Deconstructive concepts derived from the theoretical reviews can be categorized into three including the participation of the users' bodies from a contemplative point of view, textuality and intertextuality, and experiences from works. Those concepts were used to criticize the previous discourse on landscape designs and to analyze various issues in the theories, themes and techniques in contemporary landscape design. The significance of the expanded visuality in contemporary landscape design is that it brings the users' voluntary participation. This structure can serve as a tool to obtain the users' perceptive effects. At the same time, it can be regarded as a process of establishing the relationships between the users and the works. Thus emphasis is placed not only on the influences of the effects structure of the works themselves, but also on the many different dimensions related to the users' bodies. It implies that the meaning of design is not determined by the designer but a product resulted from the voluntary relationships between users and works. These findings lead to ambiguous distinctions between arts everyday life, and eventually to the end of the concepts of formative dichotomous aesthetics and their effectiveness. Finding of this study call for not only redefining the space where landscape design is created and communicated, but also reconsidering the concepts of landscape design and its ontological meanings.
Recently, geosynthetic reinforced earth walls are gradually replacing conventional concrete retaining walls for reasons of economy, expediency of construction, and aesthetics. A number of reinforced soil walls having more than 10m heights have been constructed to make more effective development in the country. However, mistakes in design and construction of reinforced earth walls have resulted in many troubles such as failure of reinforced earth walls, horizontal deformationor breakdown of facings, and so forth during or after construction. In this paper, a case study on global sliding failure of a geogrid-reinforced tiered wall is carried out to investigate the causes of the failure and suggest the proper countermeasures. From the subsurface investigation and field instrumentation, It is found that the cause of the global sliding failure was occurred by decreasing of bearing capacity of foundation ground induced by infiltration of rainwater.

The masonry stone arch bridge, due to its superior durability and aesthetics, has been one of the oldest and popular types of short span bridges. In Europe, this type of bridges have been continuously constructed, and numerous related researches have been conducted until recently. However, there are few construction cases in Korea since the economic efficiency and the construction effectiveness is not contentable. Therefore, this study proposed the reinforced joint to improve structural performance of the conventional arch systems which is proposed by previous researchers. The structural performance of the proposed reinforced joint, which consists of the transverse loop joint and the longitudinal reinforcement, is validated by experimental test of an arch bridge which is constructed using precast concrete segments. Based on this results of the experimental test, it is concluded that the strength of arch bridges can be enhanced by applying the proposed reinforced joints since the reinforced joint restrains hinge behavior and relative displacement between segments with a little reinforcement.

The purpose of this study is to examine the rightness of establishing the Essential Act of Landscape Architecture in Korea and to present the legal phase, the legislative system and the construction of a contents at the expected enactment of it. It is necessary to point out the problems of the various fields of landscape architecture and to propose the solutions of them. The contents of the study are as follows, 1 . The number of the regulations related to landscape architecture is a good reason for which the field of landscape architecture is worth being included to the positive law. 2. The problems by items(ordinance, engineer, contract, planning, design and supervision, construction, maintenance, plant and planting, material, aesthetics and sight, environmental conservation and ecology, right and penal regulations) to the domestic related regulations being at issue and the remedies for it shall be considered at the enactment of the Essential Act of Landscape Architecture. 3. The number of the domestic regulations being related to landscape architecture which have a term of\` the Essential Act∼\`is 5. 4. The Essential Act of Landscape Architecture is the separate Essential Act welch defines the scope of landscape architecture as construction works and controls the business essentially. 5. The meaning and character of the Essential Act of Landscape Architecture was examined and the reasons for that essential act were recognized in point of the legal, landscape architectural and educational systems. 6. The creation of new official landscape architectural organization is a reason to justify the enactment of the Essential Act of Landscape Architecture. 7. The legal phase, the legislative system and the construction of a contents of the Essential Act of Landscape Architecture ware presented and this act shall conform to such as the legal system of the Architectural Act, the Essential Act of the Construction Industry and so on. It is within bounds to say that the mood expressed in the Scenes of 3D Animation influences by mostly setting up of 3D CG lighting. Tn the context of CG, lighting is the process of illuminating digital scenes in an artistic and technical manner so the audience can perceive what the director intends to display on the screen with the appropriate clarity and mood. The lighting has the role of making the scenes beautiful and harmonious as an aesthetics of light and color created and controlled by people. It can be also stylized in symbolic and metaphorical methods environmental mood which we pursue to expose and story which we want to express. It thus appears that the concept of lighting style is intimately related to the particular context and art direction of animation film. But unfortunately, there are no foolproof formulas to the process of lighting a scene. In short, the lighting contributes to define the style of the scene as a conditional lighting setups' elements including position, color, intensity, shadow's area and scope. But at the same time, we must not overlook the artistic aspects that the lighting might suggest over all moods the animation genre and the style of scene like tranquility, suspense, and high-drama.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics of the Junk Art represented in the second half 20the century fashion. The highly developed material civilization resulted in human alienations environmental distruption. By this fact human being of the 20the century was to overcome social com-plexity. In this respect this research was focused that how the characteristics of the junk Art was expressed in the second half 20th century fashion. The concepts of the Junk Art lied in the creation of art work in the 2-dimentional plane of 3-dimentional space through the application of all junks (wood pieces industrial debris trash ready-made goods etc) cast by the mod-ern industrial society and the mass production system. Juck Art had been further envigorated in the footstep of the development of the collage method based on the creation of object aes-thetics. And junk artists have untitled social environments with art by assembling junks as a way of exploring the material world of cur-rent society and provided infinite possibilities of expressional medium and technique. Above all junk Art has been reflected in the fashion as well as other art. Especially a lot of the fashion design by the use of junks and the expressive image of junks is produced in the 20th century. That is many of fashion designers have always been aware of what is happening in the arts and have always been able to use the dis-coveries and ideas of the artist to help them solve design problems and creat fashion which are new inventive and reflective of their time. The fashion designers of the junk fashion design could be said to have presented much more possibilities and new development for-mulas to modern fashion design and provided a new order of other formative arts. Unlike the negative and destructive punk cyberpunk fashion junk fashion was a positive and optimistic aesthetics. junk fashion that keeps pace with science and the development of technology is devoted to trying to grasp the real form of ultimate re-ality.

Recently underground electrical power distribution is increased because people attach importance to aesthetics of the downtown areas. Lew-voltage handhole of underground distribution line for joint and branch point is mainly installed at the sidewalk. So, pedestrian can get a electric shock if fault is occurred in the low-voltage handhole. Furthermore the street was flooded by recently an unusual change in the weather. Fault is occurred in the low-voltage handhole that may create a shock hazard for the human body because a person's body resistance lower due to effect of water. This paper analyses causes of electric shock accidents and check results at the low-voltage handhole. At a result of analysis, the causes of electric shock accidents in domestic and foreign low-voltage handhole are same but environmental conditions of low-voltage handhole are different In the future, the analytical data can be applied to prevent the electric shock at the low-voltage handhole, and can be used to basic data for the improving installment of low-voltage handhole.
