Culture Influence on Enterprise Planning Resource (ERP) Implementation In Saudi Arabia's Public Sector

  • Enterprise resource planning (ERP) is widely adopted among enterprises and organizations. In recent years, researchers have become increasingly interested in factors related to ERP implementation success. In this paper, top management members, IT professionals, and end-users were interviewed in the study. The study used Hofstede's main cultural dimensions as a theoretical framework to identify cultural characteristics and their influence on ERP implementation within public organizations in Saudi Arabia. The study followed a qualitative methodology approach to carry on the study to investigate the national culture characteristics in Saudi Arabia that may influence ERP implementation success. The study found some culturally related factors that could influence success in ERP implantation projects in Saudi Arabia..

Customized ERP System: An Alternative Solution for Small and Medium Business Firms

  • As business needs are accelerating exponentially due to globalization and other market forces, companies regardless of its size need data which can operate flexibly and rapidly across disappearing physical and organizational borders. To meet the growing Enterprise Resource Planning [ERP] needs for small and medium sized firms, large ERP vendors have introduced new and inexpensive products to these markets. They can customize to businesses of all sizes as long as they have the need for the services and the budget to support the system. Based on the observations in this research, most ERP vendors, regardless of their size, are now focusing more on improving the implementation curve and reporting capabilities through compartmentalizing business applications along industry verticals. Also ERP systems are becoming more open thereby consultants and subject matter experts now have the opportunity to create modules based upon verticals to form a best-of-breed ERP implementation. of enterprises.

기업형 펨토셀 네트워크에서 부분 주파수 재사용 방법의 성능분석 (Performance Analysis of Fractional Frequency Reuse Scheme for Enterprise Femtocell Networks)

  • 본 논문에서는 회사 또는 백화점 등과 같은 고층 건물에 다수의 펨토셀 기지국들(Femtocell base stations, fBSs)이 밀집되어 배치되는 기업형 펨토셀 네트워크(Enterprise femtocell network, EFN) 환경에서 부분 주파수 재사용 (Fractional frequency reuse, FFR) 자원할당 방법을 이용하여 하향링크에 대한 시스템 성능을 분석한다. 이를 위해, 먼저 매크로셀과 펨토셀 사이의 주파수 간섭을 완화시키는 Split reuse 주파수 할당 방법에 대해 소개하고, 이후 EFN의 fBS들에게 주파수 간섭 완화 및 주파수 효율을 극대화할 수 있는 FFR을 이용한 자원할당 방법을 제안한다. 마지막으로 시뮬레이션을 통해 제안하는 FFR 자원할당 방법의 시스템 성능을 분석하고, EFN 환경에서 주파수 재사용 계수(Frequency reuse factor: FRF)를 4로 사용하는 전형적인 FRF 4 방법보다 제안하는 FFR 자원할당 방법이 평균 fUE 용량, 전체 EFN 용량, 그리고 Outage probability 측면에서 우수한 성능임을 보인다.

  • A business's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution is software that fully integrates the services that businesses require, continuously updates business processes and department operations in real-time, and so aids in the successful management of enterprise resources. Previously, ERP solutions were often deployed for large enterprises, but along with the strong digital transformation process, many small and medium enterprises have been deploying Cloud ERP (CERP) solutions. The objective of the study is to measure the factors affecting the successful implementation of CERP solutions at small and medium enterprises and the impact of successful implementation of CERP solutions on business process re-engineering and enterprise performance. Using a quantitative method based on data collected from 230 small and medium enterprises in Vietnam that have been implementing CERP solutions, the results show that there are 5 factors affecting, which are Organizational ERP Strategic, Top management Commitment, Data Security, Training in ERP Projects, Organizational Culture. Research results also show that Successful implementation of CERP has a direct impact on business process re-engineering and business performance. Based on the results, the study has made a number of policy implications in the successful implementation of CERP towards re-engineering business processes to improve the performance of small and medium enterprises.

  • The successful knowledge and information based companies facilitate to restructure the industry and strengthen the national competitiveness in the future. The advent of information age provides us new challenge because the information breakthrough can play a pivotal role in terms of knowledge transfer in the human resource management. Executive officer must present long term vision in order to expand enterprise continuously and establish long term management goal and strategy which are appropriate for key organizational skills of future management environment (Pfeffer, 1998). Also, long term talent management based on vision, goal and strategy and talent development strategy and employment management must be established (小池, 1994)). American HRM system's reformation cannot be defined without scientific management policy. However, currently widely discussed Japanese HRM system's reformation cannot be defined without organizational commitment focused Japanese employment system. (津田, 1992 ; 太田, 1994). Japan's development of the following policies are behind comparing to Europe : (1)Skill based talent management regardless of age, sex, nationality, race and academic background (2)Consideration of retirement age of 64 (3)Creativity and freedom promoting talent management policy. Also, there are problems to be solved. Solutions will be searched for by establishing new wage policy based on tasks and individuals in the basis of lifetime employment system.

  • 본 논문에서는 정부전자문서유통센터의 EA 구축을 위해 EA 프레임웍의 방향성을 정의하고 이를 기반으로 GDOC 프레임웍을 제시하였다. 문서유통센터의 EA 구축으로 문서유통센터의 정보기술기반을 제공하여 정보시스템의 상호운용성 증진과 전자정부 과제간 상호운용성을 확보하고 정보자원을 일관성 있게 관리할 수 있도록 하였다. 정보화 정책결정 및 투자계획 수립을 지원하고 향후 행자부 EA 마스터 플랜을 수립하는데 적극 활용될 수 있도록 본 프로젝트의 산출물을 가시적인 시스템으로 운영하기 위하여 EA 레파지토리를 구축하였다.

  • It was difficult that each enterprise clearly defines PDM in domestic vehicle manufacturing industry and decides investment for the successful foundation in the mid-90s. Also, it was true that most investments to success repeat a process of trial and error even if they decide and propel. Now, PDM is not a luxurious system. Because the company is operated well even if it manages business manually, the company may not be interested in PDM introduction. Problem is business efficiency and product competitiveness. Now, we must consider that introduction and drive of PDM became necessary as instrumentation for Re-Engineering of business process concerning innovative dimension restructuring that is not reorganization, development and improvement of business for enterprise's survival. This indicates that now is when level of infra construction for an IT technology dominates competitiveness of business management. Enterprise can expect effects of PDM by implementation that manages Intellectual Properties through administration of knowledge and information finally.

The Effects of Industry Classification on a Successful ERP Implementation Model

  • Organizations in some industries are still hesitant to adopt the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system due to its high risk of failures. This study examined how industry classification affects the successful implementation of the ERP system. To achieve this goal, we reinvestigated the existing ERP Success Model that was developed by Chung with the data from various industry sectors, since Chung validated the model only in the engineering and construction industries. In order to test to see if the Chung model can be applicable outside the engineering and construction industries, the relationships between the ERP success indicators and the critical success factors in the Chung model and those in the sample data collected from ten different industry sectors were compared and investigated. The ten industry sectors were selected based on the Global Industry Classification Standard (GICS). We found that the impact of success factors on the success of implementing an ERP system varied across industry sectors. This means that the success of ERP system implementation can be industry-specific. Thus, industry classification should be considered as another factor to help IT decision makers or top-management avoid ERP system failures when they plan to implement a new ERP system.

  • Organizational abilities which assure human resource of excellent quality in enterprise and organization, manages human resource effectively and systematically will be depended on the performance and successful or not of enterprise. The organization which readies to accept changes will survive, the organization makes full use of changes to opportunity and strategy will be a winner. Now when the environment of enterprise is uncertain and environment of management changes, organization should manage HRM in strategic point of view to maintain persistent competition superiority. We investigated how outsourcing affected on organizational performance perception according to inducting BSC from the employees of metro. As a result of the investigation, outsourcing is perceived importantly in study, growth, internal process point of view, but didn't perceived in finance and customer. We guessed that outsourcing would be perceived importantly in financial point of view as a cost reduction. In 5 years from the beginning of metro, it seemed to be perceived importantly, as organizations grow older, perceptions of outsourcing are perceived low because of stabilization of organization and labor's resistance. It is why that the more outsourcing is performed, the more reduction of organization and decrease of employees is expected as much as cost reduction.
