The advantages of Blockchain present the necessity of Blockchain in various fields. However, there are several disadvantages to Blockchain. Among them, the uncle block problem is one of the problems that can greatly hinder the value and utilization of Blockchain. Although the value of Blockchain may be degraded by the uncle block problem, previous studies did not pay much attention to research on uncle block. Therefore, the purpose of this study attempts to predict the occurrence of uncle block in order to predict and prepare for the uncle block problem of Blockchain. This study verifies the validity of introducing new attributes and ensemble analysis techniques for accurate prediction of uncle block occurrence. As a research method, voting, bagging, and stacking ensemble analysis techniques were employed for Ethereum's uncle block where the uncle block problem actually occurs. We used Blockchain information of Ethereum and Bitcoin as analysis data. As a result of the study, we found that the best prediction result was presented when voting and stacking ensemble techniques were applied using only Ethereum Blockchain information. The result of this study contributes to more accurately predict the occurrence of uncle block and prepare for the uncle block problem of Blockchain.
One of the most commonly used methods of web recommendation techniques is collaborative filtering. Many studies on collaborative filtering have suggested ways to improve accuracy. This study proposes a method of movie recommendation using Word2Vec and an ensemble convolutional neural networks. First, in the user, movie, and rating information, construct the user sentences and movie sentences. It inputs user sentences and movie sentences into Word2Vec to obtain user vectors and movie vectors. User vectors are entered into user convolution model and movie vectors are input to movie convolution model. The user and the movie convolution models are linked to a fully connected neural network model. Finally, the output layer of the fully connected neural network outputs forecasts of user movie ratings. Experimentation results showed that the accuracy of the technique proposed in this study accuracy of conventional collaborative filtering techniques was improved compared to those of conventional collaborative filtering technique and the technique using Word2Vec and deep neural networks proposed in a similar study.

Pakistan is a top producer and exporter of high-quality rice, but traditional methods are still being used for detecting rice diseases. This research project developed an automated rice blast disease diagnosis technique based on deep learning, image processing, and transfer learning with pre-trained models such as Inception V3, VGG16, VGG19, and ResNet50. The modified connection skipping ResNet 50 had the highest accuracy of 99.16%, while the other models achieved 98.16%, 98.47%, and 98.56%, respectively. In addition, CNN and an ensemble model K-nearest neighbor were explored for disease prediction, and the study demonstrated superior performance and disease prediction using recommended web-app approaches.

The purpose of this study is to challenge a computational regression-type problem, that is handling large-size data, in which conventional metamodeling techniques often fail in a practical sense. To solve such problems, regression-type boosting, one of ensemble model techniques, together with bootstrapping-based re-sampling is a reasonable choice. This study suggests weight updates by the amount of the residual itself and a new error decision criterion which constructs an ensemble model of models selectively chosen by rejection limits. Through these ideas, we propose AdaBoost.RMU.R as a metamodeling technique suitable for handling large-size data. To assess the performance of the proposed method in comparison to some existing methods, we used 6 mathematical problems. For each problem, we computed the average and the standard deviation of residuals between real response values and predicted response values. Results revealed that the average and the standard deviation of AdaBoost.RMU.R were improved than those of other algorithms.

This paper proposes a network intrusion detection system that identifies abnormal flows within the network. The majority of datasets commonly used in research lack time-series information, making it challenging to improve detection rates for attacks with fewer instances due to a scarcity of sample data. However, there is insufficient research regarding detection approaches. In this study, we build upon previous research by using the Artificial neural network(ANN) model and a stack ensemble technique in our approach. To address the aforementioned issues, we incorporate temporal information by leveraging adjacent flows and enhance the learning of samples from sparse attacks, thereby improving both the overall detection rate and the detection rate for sparse attacks.

A large volume of patient data is generated from various devices used in healthcare applications. With increase in the volume of data generated in the healthcare industry, more wellness monitoring is required. A cloud-enabled analysis of healthcare data that predicts patient risk factors is required. Machine learning techniques have been developed to address these medical care problems. A novel technique called the radix-trie-based Tanimoto kernel regressive infomax boost classification (RT-TKRIBC) technique is introduced to analyze the heterogeneous health data in the cloud to predict the health risks and send alerts. The infomax boost ensemble technique improves the prediction accuracy by finding the maximum mutual information, thereby minimizing the mean square error. The performance evaluation of the proposed RT-TKRIBC technique is realized through extensive simulations in the cloud environment, which provides better prediction accuracy and less prediction time than those provided by the state-of-the-art methods.
Combining multiple classifiers has been actively exploited to improve classification performance. It is required to construct a pool of accurate and diverse base classifier for obtaining a good ensemble classifier. Conventionally ensemble learning techniques such as bagging and boosting have been used and the diversify of base classifiers for the training set has been estimated, but there are some limitations in classifying gene expression profiles since only a few training samples are available. This paper proposes an ensemble technique that analyzes the diversity of classification rules obtained by genetic programming. Genetic programming generates interpretable rules, and a sample is classified by combining the most diverse set of rules. We have applied the proposed method to cancer classification with gene expression profiles. Experiments on lymphoma cancer dataset, prostate cancer dataset and ovarian cancer dataset have illustrated the usefulness of the proposed method. h higher classification accuracy has been obtained with the proposed method than without considering diversity. It has been also confirmed that the diversity increases classification performance.

When there were disparities in performance between models trained in the time and frequency domains, even after conducting an ensemble, we observed that the performance of the ensemble was compromised due to imbalances in the individual model performances. Therefore, this paper proposes a leakage detection technique to enhance the accuracy of pipeline leakage detection through a step-wise learning approach that extracts features from both the time and frequency domains and integrates them. This method involves a two-step learning process. In the Stage 1, independent model training is conducted in the time and frequency domains to effectively extract crucial features from the provided data in each domain. In Stage 2, the pre-trained models were utilized by removing their respective classifiers. Subsequently, the features from both domains were fused, and a new classifier was added for retraining. The proposed transfer learning-based feature fusion technique in this paper performs model training by integrating features extracted from the time and frequency domains. This integration exploits the complementary nature of features from both domains, allowing the model to leverage diverse information. As a result, it achieved a high accuracy of 99.88%, demonstrating outstanding performance in pipeline leakage detection.

The price of iron ore has continued to fluctuate with high demand and supply from many countries and companies. In this business environment, forecasting the price of iron ore has become important. This study developed the machine learning model forecasting the price of iron ore a one month after the trading events. The forecasting model used distributed lag model and deep learning models such as MLP (Multi-layer perceptron), RNN (Recurrent neural network) and LSTM (Long short-term memory). According to the results of comparing individual models through metrics, LSTM showed the lowest predictive error. Also, as a result of comparing the models using the ensemble technique, the distributed lag and LSTM ensemble model showed the lowest prediction.

The number of freshmen at universities is decreasing due to the recent decline in the school-age population, and the survival of many universities is threatened. To overcome this situation, universities are seeking ways to use big data within the school to improve the quality of education. A study on the prediction of dropout students is a representative case of using big data in universities. The dropout prediction can prepare a systematic management plan by identifying students who will drop out of school due to reasons such as dropout or expulsion. In the case of actual on-campus data, a large number of missing values are included because it is collected and managed by various departments. For this reason, it is necessary to construct a model by effectively reflecting the missing values. In this study, we propose a university student dropout prediction model based on eXtreme Gradient Boost that can be applied to data with many missing values and shows high performance. In order to examine the practical applicability of the proposed model, an experiment was performed using data from C University in Chungbuk. As a result of the experiment, the prediction performance of the proposed model was found to be excellent. The management strategy of dropout students can be established through the prediction results of the model proposed in this paper.
