돌출형 거칠기벽이 있는 동심환형관의 유동에 대한 마찰계수 (Friction Factors for Flow in Concentric Annuli with Rib-Roughened Wall)

  • The combined effects of radius ratio and roughness pitch ratio on the turbulent fluid flow characteristics of the fully developed flow in the annullar tubes with rib-roughened core walls were determined for Reynolds number ranging from 12,000 to 66,000. To understand the underlying physical phenomena responsible for friction factor enhancement, measurements of velocity profiles and zero shear stress and maximum velocity positions were combined to propose the friction factor correlation. Friction factors were found to be a function of the roughness pitch ratio and radius ratio.

몬테칼로 기법을 이용한 kV, MV X선에서의 선량증가 효과 비교 평가 (A Monte Carlo Study of Dose Enhancement with kilovoltage and megavoltage photons)

  • Monte Carlo 기법을 활용하여 60, 90, 120, 150 kV와 6, 15 MV X선에서의 선량증가 효과를 평가하였다. MCNPX code를 이용하여 ICRU slab 모의피폭체를 전산모사하였으며, 금, 가돌리늄, 산화철의 선량증가 물질을 사용하였다. 입사에너지의 전자평형 지점을 고려하여 모의피폭체의 표면 및 5 cm 깊이에 5, 10, 15, 20 mg/g 농도의 물질을 삽입하였으며, 선량증가 물질이 없을 때를 바탕으로 하여 깊이에 따른 흡수에너지 변화와 선량증가효과비를 통하여 정량적 평가를 시행하였다. 선량증가 물질의 농도가 높을수록, 금, 가돌리늄, 산화철 순으로 높은 선량증가 효과를 보였으며, kV X선에서는 입사에너지가 낮을수록, 물질의 원자 내 전리 퍼텐셜에 가까울수록 높은 선량증가 효과를 보였다. MV X선에서는 15 MV에 비해 6 MV에서 높은 선량증가 현상을 나타내었으며, kV X선에 비해서는 현저히 낮은 결과를 확인할 수 있었다.

드론 소음 환경에서 심층 신경망 기반 음성 향상 기법 적용에 관한 연구 (A study on deep neural speech enhancement in drone noise environment)

  • 본 논문에서는 재난 환경과 같은 환경에서의 음성 처리를 위해 실제 드론 소음 데이터를 수집하여 오염 음성 데이터베이스를 구축하고 음성 향상 기법인 스펙트럼 차감법과 심층 신경망을 이용한 마스크 기반 음성 향상 기법을 적용하여 성능을 평가한다. 기존의 심층 신경망 기반의 음성 향상 모델인 VoiceFilter(VF)의 성능 향상을 위해 Self-Attention 연산을 적용하고 추정한 잡음 정보를 Attention 모델의 입력으로 이용한다. 기존 VF 모델 기법과 비교하여 Source to Distortion Ratio(SDR), Perceptual Evaluation of Speech Quality(PESQ), Short-Time Objective Intelligibility(STOI)에 대해 각각 3.77 %, 1.66 %, 0.32 % 향상된 결과를 나타낸다. 인터넷에서 수집한 오염 음성 데이터를 75 % 혼합하여 훈련한 경우, 실제 드론 소음만을 사용한 경우에 비해 상대적인 성능 하락률 평균이 SDR, PESQ, STOI에 대해 각각 3.18 %, 2.79 %, 0.96 %를 나타낸다. 이는 실제 데이터를 취득하기 어려운 환경에서 실제 데이터와 유사한 데이터를 수집하여 음성 향상을 위한 모델 훈련에 효과적으로 활용할 수 있음을 확인해준다.

An image enhancement Method for extracting multi-license plate region

  • In this paper, we propose an image enhancement algorithm to improve license plate extraction rate in various environments (Day Street, Night Street, Underground parking lot, etc.). The proposed algorithm is composed of image enhancement algorithm and license plate extraction algorithm. The image enhancement method can improve an image quality of the degraded image, which utilizes a histogram information and overall gray level distribution of an image. The proposed algorithm employs an interpolated probability distribution value (PDV) in order to control a sudden change in image brightness. Probability distribution value can be calculated using cumulative distribution function (CDF) and probability density function (PDF) of the captured image, whose values are achieved by brightness distribution of the captured image. Also, by adjusting the image enhancement factor of each part region based on image pixel information, it provides a function that can adjust the gradation of the image in more details. This processed gray image is converted into a binary image, which fuses narrow breaks and long thin gulfs, eliminates small holes, and fills gaps in the contour by using morphology operations. Then license plate region is detected based on aspect ratio and license plate size of the bound box drawn on connected license plate areas. The images have been captured by using a video camera or a personal image recorder installed in front of the cars. The captured images have included several license plates on multilane roads. Simulation has been executed using OpenCV and MATLAB. The results show that the extraction success rate is more improved than the conventional algorithms.

Development of dry-origin latent footwear impression on non-porous and semi-porous surfaces using a 5-methylthioninhydrin and L-alanine complex

  • 5-methylthioninhydrin (5-MTN) is an amino acid sensitive reagent used for the development of latent fingermarks deposited on porous surfaces such as paper and wood. The present study demonstrates that the 5-MTN can be used as a latent footwear impression enhancement reagent, by reacting with trace multivalent metal ions, which are the main components of the latent footwear impression. 5-MTN and L-alanine complex (MTN-ALA) used for the latent footwear impression development was prepared, by mixing $4.5{\times}10^{-3}M$ 5-MTN (in methanol) and $4.5{\times}10^{-3}M$ L-alanine (in methanol) in 1:1 ratio, and keeping undisturbed at room temperature for 24 h. The latent footwear impressions were deposited on white and black non-porous surfaces (glass plate, polyethylene panel, polypropylene panel, acryl panel, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) panel, poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) panel, acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) panel, tile), and a semi-porous surfaces (painted wood). The latent footwear impressions on these surfaces were treated with MTN-ALA complex by spraying. The fluorescence of footwear impressions (occurred due to the reaction between MTN-ALA and metal complexes) was observed under a 505 nm forensic light source and an orange barrier filter. The enhancement of latent footwear impression was achieved from black surfaces without any blurring. However, the fluorescence (enhancement) of footwear impression was not observed on the white PVC, PMMA, and ABS surfaces, because the incident light interfered and reflected on the surface. The sensitivity of MTN-ALA was superior to 2,2'-dipyridil, which is a representative non-fluorescing footwear impression enhancement reagent, and similar to 8-hydroxyquinoline, which is a representative fluorescing footwear impression enhancement reagent.

영상의 명암대비 향상을 위한 차별적 압축 방법 기반의 히스토그램 평활화 (Histogram Equalization based on Differential Compression for Image Contrast Enhancement)

  • 기존 히스토그램 평활화 방법을 사용하여 영상의 명암대비를 증가시킬 경우 과도한 밝기 변화로 인한 과포화 현상(over-enhancement), 계조현상(false contouring) 및 영상의 세부 정보가 없어지는 등의 왜곡이 발생한다. 특히 밝기 분포가 특정한 밝기 레벨에 밀집되어 있는 경우 이러한 왜곡이 두드러지게 나타나게 된다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 임계치를 이용한 히스토그램 클리핑을 통해 입력 히스토그램을 변형하는 개선된 평활화 방법들이 제시되었지만, 입력영상의 히스토그램 특성을 고려하지 않고 전체 히스토그램에 대해 동일한 임계치를 적용하기 때문에 명암대비 향상효과가 감소하고, 입력 영상의 특성을 유지하지 못해 부자연스러운 영상이 얻어지기도 한다. 본 논문에서는 기존 방식에서 발생하는 문제를 해결하기 위하여 입력영상의 히스토그램의 빈도수에 따른 차별적 압축방법을 적용하여 과도한 밝기 변화가 발생하는 문제를 억제하면서도 입력영상의 특성을 유지하는 새로운 평활화 방식을 제 안한다. 또한 입력영상의 특성에 따라 압축률의 강도를 제어하여 보다 효과적으로 명암대비 향상을 수행하는 방법을 제시한다.

Increased Wall Enhancement Extent Representing Higher Rupture Risk of Unruptured Intracranial Aneurysms

  • Objective : This study aims to investigate the relationship between aneurysm wall enhancement and clinical rupture risks based on the magnetic resonance vessel wall imaging (MR-VWI) quantitative methods. Methods : One hundred and eight patients with 127 unruptured aneurysms were prospectively enrolled from Feburary 2016 to October 2017. Aneurysms were divided into high risk (≥10) and intermediate-low risk group (<10) according to the PHASES (Population, Hypertension, Age, Size of aneurysm, Earlier SAH history from another aneurysm, Site of aneurysm) scores. Clinical risk factors, aneurysm morphology, and wall enhancement index (WEI) calculated using 3D MR-VWI were analyzed and compared. Results : In comparison of high-risk and intermediated-low risk groups, univariate analysis showed that neck width (4.5±3.3 mm vs. 3.4±1.7 mm, p=0.002), the presence of wall enhancement (100.0% vs. 62.9%, p<0.001), and WEI (1.6±0.6 vs. 0.8±0.8, p<0.001) were significantly associated with high rupture risk. Multivariate regression analysis revealed that WEI was the most important factor in predicting high rupture risk (odds ratio, 2.6; 95% confidence interval, 1.4-4.9; p=0.002). The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis can efficiently differentiate higher risk aneurysms (area under the curve, 0.780; p<0.001) which have a reliable WEI cutoff value (1.04; sensitivity, 0.833; specificity, 0.67) predictive of high rupture risk. Conclusion : Aneurysms with higher rupture risk based on PHASES score demonstrate increased neck width, wall enhancement, and the enhancement intensity. Higher WEI in unruptured aneurysms has a predictive value for increased rupture risk.

근해 수산자원 증대사업의 경제적 타당성 평가 (Economic Valuation of the Off-Shore Fisheries Stock Enhancement Project)

  • This study is to evaluate the prior economic feasibility of the off-shore fisheries stock enhancement project. The main findings of this study can be summarized as follows: first, offshore fisheries stock enhancement project shall be implemented by dividing them into 1st·2nd·3rd projects for efficient promotion. The 1st·2nd·3rd projects will be conducted in a total of 50 locations (the eastern sea, the western sea, the southern sea, and the jeju sea areas), and the project period per unit will be five years, which will cost 1 trillion won. Second, according to the results of the survey on public awareness, the most consumed marine species in Korea over the past year were analyzed in the order of mackerel, hairtail, squid, yellow corvina, blue crab, and cod. The dominant response to the reason for consuming marine products in Korea was healthy well-being food and safe food. In addition, 67.9% of them have hesitated to purchase offshore fish species over the past year due to high prices, indicating that they are burdened by high prices. On the other hand, 79% of the respondents said that the government's policy was insufficient, according to a survey on whether the government's coastal marine resource creation policy was sufficient. Third, as a result of preliminary economic analysis of offshore fisheries stock enhancement project, the benefit-cost ratio is 4.01, net present price is 1,283.7 billion won, and internal rate of return is 91.7% per year, which means that the economic analysis ensures the feasibility of the projects. The results of this study provide useful information on securing or organizing budgets for offshore fisheries stock enhancement project by securing economic feasibility as a national infrastructure project that increases fishery income and public benefits such as consumption of marine products.

  • A Seismic retrofit idea based on a first principle is proposed for existing RC walls under various level of axial loading. In application of the proposed retrofit method, designers can choose the size and shape of boundary elements of wall sections for a required level of ductility. For this axial load ratio, steel ratio, and strength of concrete and steel are considered as design parameters. In order to show the usage of the idea, several design charts are presented with an application example.

몬테칼로 기법을 이용한 방사선 선량증가 물질에 따른 선량증가 효과 평가 (A Monte Carlo Study of Dose Enhancement according to the Enhancement Agents)

  • Monte Carlo 시뮬레이션을 이용하여 MV X, ${\gamma}$선에서의 선량증가 효과를 평가하였다. MCNPX code를 이용하여 ICRU 평판형(Slab) 모의피폭체를 전산모사하였으며, 입사 광자의 에너지, 선량증가 물질의 종류 및 농도에 따른 영향을 분석하였다. 선량증가 물질은 금(aurum), 가돌리늄(gadolinium), 요오드(iodine), 산화철(iron oxide)에 대해 비교 평가하였으며, 입사에너지는 선형가속기에서 발생된 4, 6, 10, 15 MV X선의 스펙트럼과 Co 60의 ${\gamma}$선원을 사용하였다. 모의피폭체 내에 7, 18, 30 mg/g 농도의 물질을 삽입하였으며, 선량증가 효과의 정량적 평가를 위해 선량증가비를 산출하였다. X선의 입사에너지가 낮을수록, 선량증가 물질의 농도가 높을수록 높은 선량증가비를 나타내었으며, 최대 선량증가비는 금 1.079, 가돌리늄 1.062, 요오드 1.049, 산화철 1.035를 보여 금, 가돌리늄, 요오드, 산화철 입자 순으로 높은 선량증가 효과를 보였다. 이러한 결과는 In-vivo, vitro 연구의 기초자료로 활용할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.
