Recently the program of direct payment for rural landscape conservation attracts great interests as it may help disadvantaged rural people. Recognized the effect of the program to improve the rural landscape and economy, it has been suggested that the program of direct payment for rural landscape conservation should be expanded. This paper presents the measures and status of Environmental Stewardship, the direct payment program for landscape conservation in England, as following; 1) rural development policies in UK organized under EU, 2) measures and agreements for rural landscape management, 3) the statues of ES enforcement. We sampled a pilot farm, surveyed inside and outside landscape of the farm, and interviewed local government officers and farmers in order to find policy implication.

The work reported here aims to assess how Knots, Calidris canutus, accumulate rapidly large energy and nutrient reserve at Red Car in England. Most of Knots in England belong to long billed, long winged population compare with subspecies in Korea. The rate of prey intake of Knot increases as a nearest neighbour distance decreases. Foraging rate and vigilance rate increases as flock size decreases. The calorific value of each sized of Common Mussel Mytilus edulis, main food species of Knot, are almost same each other but the calorific content of each size Mussels are quite different each other. The rate of daily energy intake of Knots have been estimated from 192 kcal to 270 kcal.

The effects of oligosaccharide supplementation on the growth performance, flock uniformity and GIT development of broiler chickens were investigated. Four diets, one negative control, one positive control supplemented with zinc-bacitracin, and two test diets supplemented with mannoligosaccharide (MOS) and fructooligosaccharide (FOS), were used for the experiment. Birds given MOS or FOS had improved body weight (BW) and feed efficiency (FCR), compared to those fed the negative control diet during the 35-d trial period. The effect on FCR became less apparent when the birds got older. FOS and MOS supplementation reduced the pancreas weight as a percentage of BW, with an effect similar to that of the antibiotic, at 35 d of age. Birds given MOS tended to have a heavier bursa (p = 0.164) and lower spleen/bursa weight ratio (p = 0.102) at 35 d of age. MOS and Zn-bacitracin showed a clear improvement on flock uniformity, compared to FOS. The mortality rate was not affected by FOS or MOS.

This paper summarizes the size and output of the major animal industries in Australia and the feed resource available to maintain production. The most important feed source is pasture but there is also extensive use of cereal grains, pulses and by-products in the intensive animal industries and in supplementing the diet of grazing animals. These resources must be used in ways that ensure sustainable production. We outline a number of Decision Support Systems such as GrazFeed, GrassGro, and AusPig which play an important role in optimizing the way in which resources are used. Waste management with respect to mineral pollution of water courses and methane production as a greenhouse gas are important issues for the animal industries and are also considered.

To confirm the division of the scope of sports arbitration, the English sports arbitration system will be analyzed as well as the scope of the regulations of the international sports arbitration court. If these forms of sport arbitration are combined with the existing China legal system and sports systems, they will effectively deal with the procedures of sports arbitration and of their linked programs, and clarify the nature of sports arbitration. With regard to the judicial supervision mode, domestic scholars have two theoretical perspectives, "comprehensive supervision theory" and "program supervision theory". Based on analyzing the above theories, the author believes that the opposition between the two is not absolute, as both can reach agreement on the important issue of whether to conduct substantive court examination or not under the premise of party autonomy.

The latest measure of the relative evolutionary age of protein structure families was applied (based on taxonomic diversity) using the protein structural interactome map (PSIMAP). It confirms that, in general, protein domains, which are hubs in this interaction network, are older than protein domains with fewer interaction partners. We apply a hypothesis of 'biological network evolution' to explain the positive correlation between interaction and age. It agrees to the previous suggestions that proteins have acquired an increasing number of interaction partners over time via the stepwise addition of new interactions. This hypothesis is shown to be consistent with the scale-free interaction network topologies proposed by other groups. Closely co-evolved structural interaction and the dynamics of network evolution are used to explain the highly conserved core of protein interaction pathways, which exist across all divisions of life.

This paper describes a initial screening methods for weak line selection using sensitivity matrix. The elements of sensitivity matrix for line suceptance have 1 or -1, 0. From this property of sensitivity matrix, the eigen-sensitivity for line suceptance can be computed very simply and selected weak line for small signal stability or transient stability. The proposed algorithm is applied to small signal stability of New England 39-bus system and also applied to voltage stability of New England 30-bus system too.

This study investigated quantitative changes in the spaces between and within myofibrils and the impact of high and low voltage electrical stimulation on muscle ultrastructure as seen in electron micrographs. In addition, the relationships of these spaces and the impact to meat tenderness were investigated. The degradation of myofibrils during aging appeared to be localized across the muscle fibre. Structural deterioration of muscle fibres was evident 1 day post-mortem, involving the weakening in the lateral integrity of the myofibrils and Z-disc regions. Meat tenderisation, as shown by objective measurements, coincided with these increases in degradation, as assessed by the sum of the gaps between and within myofibrils. The results showed that the total size of gaps between and within myofibrils can be used as an indicator of meat tenderization during aging, but that ultrastructural alteration in electrically stimulated muscle had little relationship with meat tenderness.

This article studied French case, German case, and England case of rail reform in terms of the relationship between rail infrastructure operator and train operator. Among these three cases there are tie relationship between two different operators backed up by laws. In France the relation between RFF, infrastructure operator, and SNCF, train operator is set up by laws. In Germany the infrastructure operator and train operator form a Konzern and two different operators work with close cooperation. In England SRA, a government authority, plans both infrastructure development and rolling stock demand. From these case studies a conclusion results that there should be a institutional device to maintain close relationship between infrastructure operator and train operator.
