멀티 플레이형 인재 양성을 위한 프로그램 구축 (Educational Program Plan to Train The Multi Professional Person)

  • The late industrial structures have been changed rapidly. Thus the educational institutes and businesses should be able to react with speed to the change of paradigm. The importance of talent who is taped and leads to epochal and social trend of change has been strongly emphasized. Recently with the phenomena of technical fusion and composition it is emphasized that the requested talent by an enterprise is the multi professional person who has the diverse professional technology and the ability of the solving problem. Changing a person who requires from an enterprise the upbringing goal of the educational institute undergo a great many changes. Thus analyzing the required talent by an enterprise, the purpose of this study is to suggest the educational program to train the multi professional person by the example of the operation of innovative engineering education program financially supported by Minister of Education, Science and Technology.

  • It is about time for Korean plant engineering industry to evaluate what they have achieved in the past and to foresee how this industry will change in the future. Since the IMF infection in the late 1997, Korean engineering industry has become to realize how important it is to formulate plans and solutions in order to be successful in the EPC industry. Korean plant engineering has accomplished remarkable growth in terms of its sales volumes and sizes of petrochemical & refinery plants they have executed, but unfortunately they have not done a nice job of generating sufficient profits. Many Korean engineering companies have carried out million and billion dollars of "projects" where they unfortunately suffered deficits, and as a result, some companies actually went deteriorated and were merged, and acquired by bigger companies. Based on above philosophy, the ten(10) key factors are suggested regarding a proposal for role and mission of chemical engineering professional engineer in plant engineering industry in the 21\\\" century.

뉴스초점 - 미국기술사회장의 강연 (The Presentation given by the President of NSPE, Mr Samuel W. Grossman)

  • The president of NSPE(2009-2010), Mr. Grossman had attended the The 3rd National Conference for Professional Engineers of Korea in accordance with the mutual agreement between KPEA and NSPE. He then, had a chance to present to our professional engineers about the licensure of professional engineers and engineering education of USA. The main contents of his presentation were introduction of the current situation of professional engineer system and needs to apply this licensure to the industry and education field, needs to strengthen the engineering education and needs to collaborate with Government in oder to open employment visa for foreign engineers. In the meantime, we should make use of this chance of engineer shortage in USA and let more Korean engineers work successfully in USA.
