  • In this paper, the management thoughts of The network-manufacture based on virtual-agile organization is Brief summarized, then an explanation had been made about the virtual circulation economy patterns paradigm, which is integrated the virtual-agile manufacture and circulation economy theory, the critical content of this paradigm, at last we recognized the virtual-agile organization pattern circulation economy is one important trend of the network-manufacture development in the future.

A conceptual understanding of macroeconomic interrelationships among science, engineering, technology, industry and national economy

  • A systematic approach is employed to elucidate the interrelationships among macroeconomic entities such as science, engineering, technology, industry and national economy. Specifically, a conceptual, sequential method has been developed to clearly identify the essential ingredients needed for each macroeconomic entity starting from science to transform to the next one, and all the way to the national economy where the production of added-value is of overriding importance. The results thus obtained can then be utilized for macroeconomists to readily apply the engineering theory and knowledge to various macroeconomics situations, while engineers can likewise utilize the results on top of the microeconomic knowledge already prevalent in many engineering fields in getting better grasp of the seemingly difficult nation's macroeconomic picture. Other peripheral concepts and issues such as the evolutionary development of industry, the perspectives of the $21^{st}$ century civilization, an analogy between macroeconomics and chemical engineering, and national policies for each macroeconomic entity are also presented in this study.

  • The dynamic nature of the A/E/C industry, rapidly changing global market environments, and lowest cost competitive bidding make it difficult to survive in global design markets. To understand the global design markets, a case study has been undertaken. The top 150 global design firms represented in the ENR (Engineering News Record) from 1995 to 2003 are classified into three groups for the case study. First group is the firms which advanced in rank from 1995. Second group is the firms which maintained its rank from 1994 until 2003. Third group is the firms which went down in rank from 1995 until 2003. However, finding key factors and changing business strategies of successful top design firms are the fundamental goals in this paper. After examinations of case studies, this paper concludes and suggests that professionalization, M&A strategies, patrons of the government, and academic support are needed to be successful in the global design & engineering industry.

  • It is confusing in Korean Society of Engineering Economy that terminologies of interest formula in Korean were defined differently literature by literature. In this paper, we proposed a rationale for standardization of interest formula by analyzing and comparing them from American, Japan, and Korean literatures. Twenty formulas of interest were interpreted into Korean language so that ones can identify by knowing their title.

  • Life cycle cost is one of important factors in the evaluation of economy feasibility. Load carrying capacity curves for girders and decks are derived on the basis of bridge diagnostic results and condition grade curves to determine the service life and life cycle profile. The total life cycle costs including initial cost, damage cost, maintenance cost, user cost, and etc for the service life are calculated for steel box girder, PSC-I girder and rationalized plate girder. The optimal designs are performed for various service lifes and different superstructure types. The effects of parameters on the life cycle cost are investigated and the economy feasibility is evaluated through the sensitivity analysis.

고도 데이터를 이용한 연비 향상 방안과 성능 평가 (Fuel Economy improvement Method and Performance Evaluation Using Altitude Data)

  • 지구 온난화의 영향으로 차량 연비 향상은 매우 중요한 문제이다. 본 논문에서는 경사를 갖는 고속도로를 주행하면서 차량 전방의 고도 데이터를 이용하여 주행속도를 예측하는 3가지 연비 향상 알고리즘을 제안하고 성능을 평가했다. 제안하는 알고리즘은 가중평균경사각(WMGA), 하강 경사에서 감속 후 재가속 I, II(RAADE I, II) 3가지이다. 이를 위해 GPS 수신 데이터 중에서 거리와 고도 데이터를 추출하여 각 구간의 경사도와 주행저항을 계산한다. 제안하는 3가지 알고리즘에 대한 속도 프로파일을 약 213Km 영동고속도로 전 구간에 대해서 완성하여 모의 주행하여 연비를 측정한다. 그 결과 제안하는 알고리즘 중에서 RAADE II 알고리즘이 기존 CVELCONT3 알고리즘 연비 대비 약 3.571% 우수한 결과를 얻었다.

냉각팬 전자제어를 통한 시내버스의 연비 개선 (The Effect of Cooling Fan Control on Fuel Economy of City Bus)

  • This paper focuses on cooling fan control by using a magnetic clutch type for the improvement of fuel economy on a heavy city bus. In general, Heavy duty vehicles use viscous clutch type cooling fan which has some disadvantages, such as slow response, wide temperature variation of engine coolant water. But a magnetic clutch type cooling fan can be controlled electronically so the engine coolant temperature can be precisely controllable and this effects could be used to reduce fuel consumption. A control system for applying the magnetic clutch type cooling fan was developed in this study and applied to the real field test and chassis dynamometer test. The result showed well controlled coolant temperature and enhancement of fuel economy.

연비향상을 위한 하이브리드 엔진 시스템 모델 개발과 최적화에 관한 연구 (Development and Optimization of the Hybrid Engine System Model to Improve the Fuel Economy)

  • The purpose of this study is development of universal engine model for integrated Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) simulator and a optimization of engine model. The engine model of this study is based on the MATLAB Simulink for universal and include engine fuel economy technologies for HEV. Various engine fuel economy technologies for HEV is estimated by commercial engine 1-D simulation program - WAVE. And, the 1-D simulation model of base version is compared with engine experiment result. The analyzed engine technologies with 1-D simulation are Dual-CVVT, Atkinson-Cycle and Cylinder-Deactivation System. There are improvement of fuel economy and power performance with Dual-CVVT model at part load and full load, pumping loss reduction with Cylinder-Deactivation System at idle and regeneration. Each estimated technologies are analyzed by 1-D simulation on all operation region for base data to converse simulink. The simulink based engine model maintains a signal with ECU for determination of engine operation point.

소방서건물의 신재생에너지시스템 최적화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Optimization of a Renewable Energy System in Fire Station Buildings)

  • This study set out to evaluate the economy, environmentality, and complexity (economy+environmentality) of fire station buildings of public service facilities and propose ways to apply the optimization of renewable energy system to fire station buildings. As for economy according to life cycle costs, economy increased when the application percentage of the geothermal and solar heat system increased over the three renewable energy system types (geothermal, solar heat, and solar photovoltaic). On the other hand, economy decreased when the application percentage of the solar photovoltaic system increased. As for environmentality according to tons of carbon dioxide, environmentality decreased when the application percentage of the geothermal and solar heat system increased. Environmentality increased when the application percentage of the solar photovoltaic system increased. As for complexity (economy+environmentality) according to the weighted coefficient method, complexity increased when the application percentage of the geothermal system increased. It was highest at the combination of the solar heat system (20%) and geothermal system (80%). On the other hand, complexity decreased when the application percentage of the solar photovoltaic system increased. It was lowest at the combination of the solar photovoltaic system (80%) and geothermal system (20%).
