  • Recent progress in the medical informatics enables us to use the medical information regardless on the time or place limit, to make a diagnostic and therapeutic plan, according to increasing need about health of general population. There are many database oriented sites on the web, which provide medical common senses, hospital information, and medical counselling on the web. But there are few oriental pulse database on the web. The purpose of this study is to develope the Clinical Oriental Pulse Database Management System over the WWW.

The Status Quo of Graph Databases in Construction Research

  • This study aims to review the use of graph databases in construction research. Based on the diagnosis of the current research status, a future research direction is proposed. The use of graph databases in construction research has been increasing because of the efficiency in expressing complex relations between entities in construction big data. However, no study has been conducted to review systematically the status quo of graph databases. This study analyzes 42 papers in total that deployed a graph model and graph database in construction research, both quantitatively and qualitatively. A keyword analysis, topic modeling, and qualitative content analysis were conducted. The review identified the research topics, types of data sources that compose a graph, and the graph database application methods and algorithms. Although the current research is still in a nascent stage, the graph database research has great potential to develop into an advanced stage, fused with artificial intelligence (AI) in the future, based on the active usage trends this study revealed.

  • Absolute position sensors are widely used in machine tools and precision measuring instruments because measurement errors are not accumulated, and position measurements can be performed without initialization. The laser speckle-based absolute position sensor, in particular, has advantages in terms of simple system configuration and high measurement accuracy. Unlike traditional absolute position sensors, it does not require an expensive physical length scale; instead, it uses a laser speckle image database to measure a moving surface position. However, there is a problem that a huge database is required to store information in all positions on the surface. Conversely, reducing the size of the database also decreases the accuracy of position measurements. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a new method to measure the surface position with high precision while reducing the size of the database. We use image stitching and approximation methods to reduce database size and speed up measurements. The absolute position error of the proposed method was about 0.27 ± 0.18 ㎛, and the average measurement time was 25 ms.

  • There are several methods which efficiencies of database are uprise. One of the well-known methods is that segments of database satisfying a query was rapidly accessed and processed. So if it is possible to search completely parallel multiple database segment types which satisfy a query, the response time of the query will be reduced. The matter of obtaining CPS(Completely Parallel Searchable) distribution without redundancy can be viewed as graph theoretic problem, and the operation of ring sum on the graph is used for CPS. In this paper, the parallel algorithm is proposed.

  • A framework of multi layered database is proposed for the integrated operation of civil infrastructure information in this study. The multi-layered database is a logically integrated database composed of standardized information layers. The framework of multi-layered database is defined by three axes, national assets, lifetime, and data levels. The axis of national assets indicates civil infrastructures such as bridges, dams, tunnels and power plants that can be considered as national key structures. The axes of lifetime and data levels indicate the standardized information layers generated from the life-phase of civil infrastructure and the priority of data in the information layers, respectively. The standardized information layers are basically composed of reusable data sets defined by information models. A prototype of standard database for steel bridges is constructed based on the framework as a proof of concept. Demonstration examples such as data consistency check and automatic generation of a FEA model show that the proposed concept can assure the sustainable interoperability of civil infrastructure information as well as design information of steel bridges.

쇄석다짐말뚝의 극한지지력 데이터베이스 구축 및 통계학적 분석 (Constructing Database and Probabilistic Analysis for Ultimate Bearing Capacity of Aggregate Pier)

  • 국내 외 하중저항계수설계법의 저항계수 보정 시 수집된 데이터베이스의 신뢰성을 향상시키기 위하여 저항편향계수 산정 단계에서 저항편향치의 ${\pm}2{\sigma}$ 범위의 데이터만을 선택하거나 가정된 확률분포 검정을 만족하도록 꼬리(tail)부분의 데이터를 제거하는 방법을 적용하고 있다. 그러나 이들 방법에서는 데이터베이스 내에 우연히 포함된 저품질의 데이터를 확인할 수 없는 단점이 발견되었다. 본 연구에서는 정재하시험의 품질, 원지반의 공학적 특성, 쇄석다짐말뚝의 제원 등의 품질기준을 이용하여 데이터베이스 구축 단계에서 수행할 수 있는 품질평가법을 제안하였으며, 국내 외 문헌 및 정재하시험 보고서로부터 65개소의 정재하시험 데이터를 수집하여 데이터베이스의 구축 및 품질평가를 수행하였다. 데이터베이스의 품질 평가 상태에 따른 저항편향계수와 변동계수, 저항계수를 비교한 결과, 기존의 데이터베이스 처리과정과 품질평가법을 병행할 경우에 저항편향계수의 불확실성이 감소되며, 신뢰도 높은 LRFD 저항계수 보정에 효과적인 것으로 판단된다.

  • The database integration is being emphasized to one way of the companies collaboration. To database integration, companies are use like one database what their own, it can be provided more efficient service to customer. However, there exist some difficulty to database integration. that is the database security and database heterogeneity problems. In this paper, we proposed the MapReduce based p2p DBaaS hub system to solve database heterogeneity problem. The proposed system provides an environment for companies in the P2P cloud to integrate a database of each other. The proposed system uses DBaaS Hub for a collection of data in the P2P cloud, and use MapReduce for integrating the collected data.

  • Grinding operation has difficulty in satisfying the qualitative knowledge based on the skilful expert as well as the quantitative data for all user. Design of grinding database based on the frame-based model is more effective method for utilizing the empirical and qualitative knowledge. In this paper. basic strategy to develop the grinding database by taking frame-based model, which is strongly dependent upon experience and intuition, is described. Grinding database based on the frame based model for designing the interaction and inference among the slots is accomplised by the object-oriented paradigm system.

  • A nuclear Power Plant is composed of a number of mechanical components. Maintaining the integrity of these components is one of the most critical issues in nuclear industry. In order to evaluate the integrity of these mechanical components, a lot of data are required including inspection data, geometrical data, material properties, etc. Therefore, an effective database system is essential to manage the integrity of nuclear power plant. For this purpose, an internet based virtual reality environment and web database system was proposed. The developed virtual reality environment provides realistic geometrical configurations of mechanical components using VRML (Virtual Reality Modeling Language). The virtual reality environment was linked with the web database, which can manage the required data for the integrity evaluation. The proposed system is able to share the information regarding the integrity evaluation through internet, and thus, will be suitable for an integrated system for the maintenance of mechanical components.

  • This paper presents a survey results on the material properties sharing system database on composite in USA. The requirements on management and database for Korean composite product that meet KAS (Korean Airworthiness Standard) are suggested. The certification policy on composite material qualification of also introduced. The benefits to material supplier, aircraft manufacturer and certification authority, which get through the database have been considered. The database managing process, composite material manufacturing process, properties and design allowable meeting KAS have been suggested.
