  • The purpose of this research is for the development of a new type forging equipment. H.C.G.(Hyundai Continuous Grain-Flow), by using two virtual build-up tools, rigid viscoplastic FEM and downsized plasticine experiment. This forging method consists of only vertical pressuree. Therefore, high quality crankshafts can be forged with this method as it can maintain a continuous grain flow. The factors considered in the development of equipment are die geometry for flawless deformed shape, die reaction forces, stress/strain distributions and continuous material flow. We carried out several numerical simulations and downsized plasticine experiments for the proper design of the forging equipment. The validity of those simulation results is confirmed by checking with the actual test results. Based on these simulation results, the proper design of the H.C.G. forging equipment is enabled.

  • 바이모달 저상굴절 트램은 자동운전으로 일반도로와 전용구간을 주행할 수 있는 고무차륜방식의 저상굴절 차량으로서, 철도의 정시성과 버스의 접근성을 동시에 구현할 수 있는 신교통수단이다. 바이모달 트램은 전자기 궤도를 사용한 자동운전, 전차륜 조향과 함께 CNG 엔진과 리튬 폴리머 배터리 팩을 사용한 친환경 직렬형 하이브리드 추진시스템을 사용한다. 본 논문에서는 바이모달 트램의 직렬형 하이브리드 추진시스템 개발에 대해 기술하고 시험선및 일반도로에서 수행된 시험 결과를 분석한다. 또한 바이모달 트램 추진장치의 튜닝 및 시험데이터 취득을 위해 개발된 계측장비의 구성 및 동작방식에 대해 설명한다. 시작차량에 설치된 계측장비의 데이터를 기초로 전용 시험 선과 일반도로에서 주행시 직렬형 하이브리드 추진시스템의 동작을 확인하며, 차량의 연비 및 엔진 효율을 계산한다.

전투장비 엔진의 캐비테이션 영향에 따른 실린더 라이너의 내구성 강화 방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on Improving the Enhanced Durability of Cylinder Liner according to Cavitation Influence of Combat Equipment Engine)

  • Cylinder liners used in diesel engines of combat equipment are prone to cavitation due to wet cooling. The damage caused by erosion and corrosion due to cavitation has a fatal effect on the performance and lifespan of a diesel engine. Therefore, a study was conducted to improve the durability of cylinder liners. Two surface treatment techniques were proposed: nitriding and chrome plating. It was observed that the amount of erosion on the surface of nitride-treated cylinder liners was high because the surface-treated part eroded due to its weak impact resistance against the bubble explosion generated by cavitation. In contrast, the chrome-plated cylinder liner had a lower amount of erosion among the specimens subjected to the accelerated test. These results verified that the resistance of chrome-plated liners against cavitation is high. Therefore, it can withstand the impact of bubble explosion. If the chrome plating thickness is set with reference to the KS standard, an exceptional durability of abrasion, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance can be obtained. If the thickness is set between 120~250㎛, it is expected that the durability of the cylinder liner can be improved. Although a recovery method for corroded cylinder liners is suggested, the proposed method has an inherent risk of crack generation. Therefore, further research is required to solve this problem.

분리 축 가스 터빈 엔진의 동역학적 천이 효과를 고려한 성능 해석 및 부하 인가 시험에 관한 연구 (A Study on Power loading Experiment & Performance Analysis for Dynamic Transient Effect of a Turbo-shaft Engine with Free Power Turbine)

  • 본 연구에서 동력 전달 시스템은 분리 축 방식의 가스 터빈 엔진의 축 동력을 발전기 전력으로 변환하여, 이것을 프로펠러를 구동하는 추력 모터에 공급하는 방식으로 구성되어있다. 여기에 사용된 가스 터빈 엔진은 엔진 축 마력 317shp(236kw)을 약110kw (147shp)으로 플랫 레이팅(flat rating) 하여 운용한다. 본 시험 장치의 엔진은 가스 터빈엔진 출력축과 발전기 사이에 부하 변화 시 댐핑(damping)역할을 할 수 있도록 플라이 휠(flywheel)을 장착하였다. 이 때 플라이휠의 적절한 관성 모멘트가 고려되지 않으면, 발전기와 모터는 부하 상승에 의한 엔진으로부터 요구되는 출력을 얻을 수 없으며, 또한 엔진이 정상적으로 작동하지 않음을 확인할 수 있다. 따라서 제공된 엔진 데이터와 엔진 시험 데이터로부터 동역학적인 천이 효과에 의한 성능 분석을 함으로써 관성 모멘트의 요구 범위를 결정하였다. 재설계한 플라이휠을 장착 시험한 결과, 본 시스템에서 요구한 출력을 얻을 수 있었다.

  • A forklift is a motive machine powered by LPG, diesel engine or electric motors. The internal combustion engine type forklift is equipped with automatic transmission to meet the required drive load as well as the easy operation of the vehicle. This paper deals with the shift control and endurance test controller which is developed for the functional test of the newly designed automatic transmission on a dynamometer test bench. Its major function is to control the proportional solenoid currents, which is directly related to clutch pressures, for the given reference current trajectory during shift and sequential operation of shift schedule designed for the durability test at each gear. It also has the ability to monitor all the necessary test data through RS232 communication and log them to disk files. The current controller of embedded system is designed from the identified dynamics of solenoid coil and the current reference can be easily modified with a user interface software on PC so as to match the shift data by experiments.

  • 건설기계 산업에서 배기 및 연비 규제를 만족하기 위하여 엔진 시스템이 점차 전자제어화 되고 있으며, 이를 제어하기 위한 EMS(Engine Management System)의 복잡도 또한 증가하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 EMS function 개발 시, 비용 및 개발기간의 단축을 위한 HiLS(Hardware in the Loop Simulation) 시스템을 개발하였다. HiLS 에 내장된 엔진 모델은 크게 Air, Fuel, Torque 및 동력계 모델로 구성되어있고 실시간 엔진 모사를 위하여 Mean value modeling 방법을 적용하였다. 이 연구를 통하여 개발한 HiLS 시스템은 EGR(Exhaust Gas Recirculation) 시스템과 Turbocharger 가 장착된 건설기계용 디젤엔진을 이용하여 정확성을 검증하였고, 테스트 결과 실 엔진 대비 90% 이상의 정확도를 얻었다.

  • This research aims to develop parts for advanced fuel/oil filtering re-circulation applicable to this kind of regulation proof engines. These parts can playa role of converting traditional air emission type crankcase into recovery type crankcase so that the engine can deal with environmental regulations, which do not allow minimal amount of toxic gas discharge. For the experiment, test method and specially made testing equipment are prepared. The results showed that oil separation efficiency of the cone type CCV(Crank Case Ventilation) system was higher than one of cylinder type both in bench test and in engine.

e-4WD 시스템 개발 (Development of electric Four Wheel Drive System)

  • e-4WD(Electric-4WD) system is a 4WD(4-Wheel Drive) System that can transform a car into a Hybrid System. e-4WD consists of a Motor, Inverter, Speed reducer and Clutch. The Motor, Speed reducer and Clutch are installed on the rear sub-frame as a chassis module type. The inverter is installed separately. Compared to a mechanical 4WD, the e-4WD system has many advantages. For example, the reduced number of drivetrain components makes better use of the space. Driving with a motor only at low speed improves fuel economy and reduces exhaust gas. Engine downsizing is available because the motor assists the engine. The performance of a conventional HEV(Hybrid Electric Vehicle) system can also be maintained. This paper proposes the specifications of components and the control logic for an e-4WD System. And the effect of the e-4WD system is proven using a test vehicle equipped with components under various test conditions.

  • This study is to develop database by an experimental method for the development of condition based maintenance for auxiliary equipment in marine engine systems. Existing ships have been performing regular maintenance, so the actual measurement data development is very incomplete. Therefore, it is best to develop a database on land tests. In this paper, a database developed by an experimental method is presented. First, failure case analysis and reliability analysis were performed to select a failure mode. For the failure simulation test, a test bed for land testing was developed. The failure simulation test was performed based on the failure simulation scenario in which the failure simulation test plan was defined. A 1.5TB failure simulation database has been developed, and it is expected to serve as a basis for ship failure diagnosis and prediction algorithm model development.
